Solidarity with the Charlottesville Victims

If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention!

After the events on August 12th and 13th in Charlottesville, VA, I would like to bring to your attention the fact that white alt right wing protesters were shouting, “Jews will not replace us!” and “All lives matter.”

And the murder of Heather Heyer.

First, Jews are not the problem here. “Of the 85 deadly US terror attacks since 9/11, far-right-wing extremists were responsible for 62, Islamic extremists 23. Remember that.”

Right wing nationalists, fascists, supremacists, extremists, racists, protesters - whatever you choose to call them, they must be stopped. Too many people have died already on both the mainland and overseas.

Racial attacks and hate crimes have risen since last year in Great Britain and France.

Golden Dawn, a Greek right wing extremist group has been targeting migrant market places in Greece and trashing them while the police do nothing.

When will we learn from our mistakes, our history? Have we learned nothing in over 100 years? Has WW2 taught us nothing about human nature and how horrible we treat our own kind? When will this stop?

The saying “All Lives Matter,” came right after “Black Lives Matter.” We already know that all lives matter. What the Black Lives Matter Movement is trying to say is that black lives matter too. And that the killings of black people will not go unseen.

The United States of America is a country founded on the genocide of an entire people. White European settlers destroyed a whole culture in less than a year and claimed the land as theirs by right of birth. They then forced their people into small plots of land called reservations. They stole their land and forced them to live amongst their own land as foreigners. They then moved onto Blacks with the Atlantic Slave Trade and centuries of chains. Then Asians with the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and the Trans-Continental Railroad and Japanese Internment Camps. Then Hispanics and Latinos with unfair pay and unsafe working conditions. Then with the LGBTQ+ Community and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. And don’t even get me started on women.

“Long Live The Strike!”

If you are a white woman in America listen up! Its our job especially now to stick up for women of color. You have a privladge because Trump being president doesn’t affect you as servely as it does with women of color. Speak up if you see someone being harrased because you have no idea how hard it must be for them at this moment in the country. Speak up and stand up. I know I most certainly will.

The fact that not only my friends are going, but teachers and staff at my school are going to the Women’s March is heartwarming. I’m proud that women are uniting with one another in a society that teaches fellow women to be enemies.

The World’s Top Cities For Female Entrepreneurs [Infographic]

When it comes to the top global cities for female entrepreneurs, four of the top ten are in the United States. Chicago grabs top spot with women accounting for 30 percent of new startups. Boston is close behind with 29 percent. Silicon Valley and Los Angeles come third and fourth with 24 and 22 percent respectively.
