Gold sunlight lazily spilled through your drawn curtains, smearing over your peaceful face.

Your nose twitched in reply.

Stirring awake quietly, you opened both eyes in a heavy haze; automatically feeling a warmth on your left. Directing your jaw to look, your gaze came into sudden contact with a mess of faded green.

Sighing inwardly, you smiled at your wandering thoughts. Lost looking at your wonderful boyfriend. Though your hand felt a pulling want to caress this hair, you shied away from doing so. You had no desire to wake him quite yet.

So instead you slipped around slowly and faced the opposite direction.

He felt it, and came alive himself; only barely though.

“Morning..” Jack grumbled, confusion hitting him hard for a moment. He registered the fact you both were lying in your room, and not his own.

“Good afternoon, lover boy.” you smiled.

Your hand went to the corner of the cream coloured duvet, about to toss it off of you so you could get up.

“What are you doing?” Jack pondered, his accent thicker than normal in his hazed position.

“Getting dressed and stuff.” you laughed “Has to happen at some point. Du bist ein erwachsen.”

You threw your legs over the side of the bed, and was about to push yourself up when Jack’s arms reeled you back in. Pulling your back tight to his chest.

“I don’t think so.” he scoffed.

You chuckled quietly and patted his arm “Okay, I know, but we have to-”

“Nope. You can stay here.”

You went to get up again, but his arms just tightened.

He blew into your ear jokingly and you giggled, causing him to laugh as well.

“Here’s a deal. I have a shower, you make the bed, and we spend the day binging movies and make a video later?” you bargained, putting your head back to look up at him.

Jack let out a soft groan and pretended to think before saying “Alright, deal.” and he kissed your forehead.

You smiled and struck yourself upwards once he let go. You twisted around in a stretch and yawned; quickly covering your mouth.

Trotting to the bathroom door, you turned back around when you heard Jack call your name. You tilted your head at him in question.

“My clothes look good on you.”

You didn’t understand at first, until you noticed Jack was shirtless. Then everything from last night came flooding back, and your face was dusted a pretty shade of powder pink.

Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Swatches + Review

Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayons are a new, pure matte version of the original Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayons. Available in a total of 12 shades from dark neutrals to bold pinks and fun blues, these eyeliners boast a pure matte finish which is one of the most pigmented, pure and truly matte eyeliner formulas I have tried, but it doesn’t come without its flaws… Whilst some shades are creamy and apply easily making it super quick to do eyeliner in 3 seconds flat (popular, mist me, and whirlpool) others are a little drier and can “pull” as they are applied, this seemed to mainly be an issue with the darker shades in the range like irony and grapevine. Finewine, although beautiful was very dry at the tip, but creamy at the base meaning the tip of the eyeliner broke off whilst being applied, but this isn’t a deal breaker for me.

Romance, some warnings of “death” and gruesome mentions involved

A/N: after weeks of not posting since of guard stuff and homework, i have brought you guys a jungkook mermaid fic on my birthday :)

It’s only about twelve, midnight as the clock handles strike at the top and the moon glimmering with its pale and porcelain tinting the world with it’s glow, but that was a sight not many would see as t into bed before hey are tucked creatures of the night came to haunt the town of Marciles. Havoc reeks the scent of blood and the smell of sewage, casting upon traces that the demonic beings left as they raided and swooped villagers from their homes. However, it’s happened only a few days in a week and most lords that were in charge of their areas paid knights to protect the peasants from the grossing amount of pillage and scarring beasts that the fighters would have to ward off. Some of these creatures even own land or travel around, haunting those they passed by like Minotaurs who loved to take upon the gems and women, slicing off limbs and decapitating heads of those who were in the way.

But it hasn’t happened to your area yet, and you didn’t think it was for a while.

Can you do a tutorial on contouring for costume/cosplay makeup? Either a photo post or video when you have the time! I wish to exit the realm of pancake faces

Certainly! Prepare to bid farewell to the pancake face! (Unless you are, in fact, cosplaying a pancake. I’m sure that’s a thing in some fandom.)

Contouring is a great technique to practice. It’s one of the easiest ways to make yourself look better in photos, as it adds depth and prevents flattening. It’s also the basis for a lot of character design makeup, as it allows you to change the appearance of your facial structure (making your face look thinner or wider, making cheekbones more dramatic, making eyes look sunken, etc.).

Full tutorial after the jump!

Hi could you please tell me what concealers are best for covering up dark circles? Thanks!

Finding the perfect concealer can be just as challenging as finding the right foundation. Trying to get a product that will not only cover imperfections, but also last throughout the day and look natural can be a real struggle. Overtime I’ve tried many concealers some good, some great and some.. not so great.

It Cosmetics Bye-Bye Under Eye Concealer

This is a staple in my makeup bag and what I use 85% of the time that I do my makeup, it’s a tried, true and tested favourite. This concealer gives great coverage and can easily be built up without going patchy or uneven. The formula is super creamy (as a result it can be prone to creasing, so make sure to set with powder) The shade range could use some improvement, but other than that this stuff is the real deal.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

NARS are well known for their Radiant Creamy Concealer and it’s no surprise why. This concealer is one of my favourites and gives great coverage underneath the eyes. It blends well, is very creamy and has a beautiful radiant finish which helps reflect light from underneath the eyes and diminishes the appearance of dark circles. Some people have issues with this concealer, but if you know how to properly apply NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and follow my tutorial you shouldn’t have any problems.

Maybelline Master Conceal Concealer

On a drugstore level, this is probably my favourite concealer. Although it’s not necessarily the best concealer in the world, it’s the best you will find at the drugstore and at an affordable price pyouoint. This concealer has a liquidiy consistency which can be built up to give total coverage underneath the eyes (as well as any other areas of the face) Here’s a demo of the Maybelline Master Conceal Concealer

Any tips on how to get your foundation and concealer to not look cakey? I have that problem some times and I'm not sure if it's lack of skill or if I'm missing something. Also any tips for a contouring noob?

*cracks knuckles* Aightsoboom

PRIMER, PRIMER, PRIMER. Silicon based primers are everything to me. Especially if you have more pronounced pores bc if you put foundation on sans primer it’ll sit in those pores and then you’ll add more foundation to compensate for that which leads to a freshly baked cake on your face.

Also, I see people putting on a lot of foundation and powder (in real life and online) and yes that may photograph beautifully but in person, it looks cakey. You really don’t need so much foundation for your face.

SOMETHING ELSE I SEE WHICH GRIND MY FUCKING GEARS, is people setting their face with a pressed foundation powder. Now listen if you are one of my beautifully chocolate girls then I get it, translucent powder (and even banana powder) can have you out here looking all types of crazy but there are brands that make setting powders in other shades (I’ll be happy to post some links bc honestly the powders look BOMB and I need some for my clients) but circling back to layering foundations, to do your makeup is to add layers to your skin. putting a heavy powder (or just a fuck ton of powder) on your face over your foundation is to add a layer to your skin which you may not need!

SKINCARE, SKINCARE, SKINCARE. The easiest way to a flawless and smooth foundation is to have a nice, healthy, taken care of base. A lot of times foundation will cling to dry patches on your face (if you have them) or just dead skin that you have on your face so EXFOLIATE, not every day!! At most 3 times a week depending on need, please consult with a skin care professional, I can give you the information of an online one if you would like, she gives a personalized skin care consultation to revamp a routine or help figure out how to deal with any skin problems you may have. She is amazing seriously. (and a personal friend who has skincare down to a science)

Technique!! The technique you use to apply your foundation is a big factor in how the finish will look! I think the best technique is stippling motion, either with a brush or a sponge, really pressing the product into your skin can help it melt and blend into the skin, achieving that flawless finish we all crave.

Concealer, DON’T APPLY TOO MUCH AND ONLY PUT IT ON AFTER YOUR FOUNDATION. Concealer is made for problem areas, and some of these areas are covered adequately with foundation, so put your foundation on first and then take a look, if you can still see redness or breakouts through the foundation then you can conceal them. Also for under the eye again NOT TOO MUCH putting a fuck ton of concealer on under your eye is not only harmful to the very delicate skin under your eye but it causing a lot of creasing as the day goes on. So, conceal sparingly under the eye. Also, try to avoid really heavy or chunky/creamy concealers, I love the Urban Deacy Naked Skin concealers bc they are SO lightweight.

Contouring is a kind of personalized thing, to adequately advise on that I’d need to know your face shape and undertones.

I hope this helped!! Ask me to elaborate on anything that isn’t clear!

Talk to me about makeup guys!!

This Powder Does It All For Under $5!

No matter what your beauty routine may be, the magic of powder can be realized in various ways. For the oily and combo skinned beauty lovers, powder is helpful in the prep and priming stages, before applying foundation (i.e. the Jackie Aina method.)

Many of us use power to “bake” our concealer under our eyes, cutting down on creasing and blurring the appearance of fine lines.

Powder can even be used to finish off your beat, helping all the products you’ve used blend seamlessly together.

Often times, we are forced to use different powders for the multitude of ways in which we decide to use them. Some are too ashy, some make the face look gray, and, at the end of the day, some just don’t really last.

But what if you had a powder that could do it all?🤔

Black Radiance’s pressed powder is the answer to all your prayers. 🙌🏿🙌🏾🙌🏽

Not only does this powder come in 13 shades, (definitely brown skin friendly) it is super affordable at just $4.99!! Check out swatches at some of the shades below.

These powders are also bomb for bronzing and contouring! Who’s tried ‘em? Do we love? Let us know your experience with them in the comments section!

anonymous asked:

umm this is a weird ask. But I noticed on your selfies that you have nice makeup. Do you have any tips? What primer are you using? 🙈 Sorry if this is strange?

It’s not strange at all don’t worry! I feel flattered. Also I’m pretty sure I’ve answered this before but I can’t find it so, I’ll just say it again. (warning: it’ll be long lol).

1. Your face is your canvas, prep it properly: This one’s really important wether you believe it or not. I find that washing, exfoliating and moisturizing my face fifteen to twenty minutes before applying does a world of a difference. The foundation application will be much smoother and flawless. Make sure you use a moisturizer that’s not too thick and sinks into the skin quickly and don’t forget to wait those 15/20 mins so it doesn’t make the foundation look streaky.
2. Understand your skin type: Are you dry, oily, normal or combination skin? Your foundation and powder of choice should depend on this. Oily skin-types tend to work better with matte foundations and dry skin types work better with glowy foundations. Personally, I’m combo skin, I love the Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation, it’s build-able coverage and in my opinion flatters all skin types, plus it has a wide color range.
3. Apply SPF if you’re going out during the day, protect your skin. If you’re going out at night, this isn’t necessary. I advice to stay away from foundations that have spf in them, since they can make you look ghostly-white in flash photography, it’s better to buy your own spf and apply it when you see fit.
4. Apply primer before the foundation, your primer of choice depends on what you need, want to make your foundation glow? Becca backlight primer. Want to smooth your pores? MUFE skin equalizer in smoothing. Just want a regular primer that will do a little of both? Too faced Hangover FX primer. Primer will also protect your skin by creating a layer between your pores and the makeup and it’ll make the makeup last longer. Apply it with your fingers, don’t swipe it, press it into the skin.
5. Foundation time. One tip I can give you is pump your foundation in the back of your hand and with a (clean) finger make a little cocktail (aka warm the liquid up) and then apply it to the skin. It makes it last longer for some reason. Also, don’t dot the foundation on, instead evenly distribute it on your skin and THEN blend it out with your tool of choice. The finish is much better that way. I recommend investing in a beauty blender for foundation application (specially if the foundation is medium to full coverage, since the wet beauty blender will absorb extra product and prevent cakey-ness, if it’s a light coverage foundation, a kabuki brush may be a better choice since that way it won’t thin out even more) either way, blend your foundation with bouncy motions, not by swiping, it’ll blend more beautifully that way and you’ll get maximum coverage.
6. Time for concealer, if the concealer you’re using is for blemishes on your face, then it should be the tone of your skin (or maybe a shade darker) and you should only apply a dot on each blemish. If you’re using concealer for your undereye circles and to highlight the face (which brings definition and makes your bone structure pop up) then it should be one or two shades lighter than your skin. Good concealers are Maybelline Fit Me! Or Tarte Shape-Tape (the latter has much more coverage). Apply it on your undereye in a triangular shape and bring it all the way to your temples for a lifting effect (unless you want to make your face appear less wide; then contour that area later on instead). Before you blend it out, warm it up with your fingers on the skin and spread it evenly just like you did with the foundation and then blend it with bouncy motions from the outside to the inside and then from the inside to the outside (always bouncing). Also apply the concealer on your forehead, bridge of the nose, Cupid’s bow and chin (unless you don’t wish to bring attention to them).
7. Set your concealer immediately after, if you’re highlighting and contouring, then do it with a powder lighter than your skin or bake with a translucent powder (like the one by Laura Mercier). You can also bake, which if you want to do that (it makes it last longer) I suggest you watch Jaclyn Hill’s video on how to bake. (YouTube). When applying powder, press it into the skin with your brush or beauty blender, don’t swipe. Apply the highlighting (matte) powder beneath the eyes and basically all the other high points (nose, forehead, etc). Always set concealer so it doesn’t crease on the fine lines.
8. Apply a powder the same shade as your skin on the rest of your face to set it with the same pressing motions. You can skip it if you feel like your face is too dry for that (in this case, a helpful tip is to mix a bit of beauty oil with your foundation to make it more hydrating). I always recommend setting the foundation with powder because it helps blending bronzer and blush later on.
9. Apply your broker, blush and glittery highlight as you see fitting, followed oby eyeliner and mascara.
10. If you’re doing eyeshadow, do it before you do your entire face so the fall out you get from eyeshadow doesn’t ruin your base. ALWAYS blend till it seems like one smooth lie and ALWAYS prep your eyes with some concealer or eyeshadow primer (make sure to set it with a skin tone powder or cream colored eyeshadow so you can easily blend out darker colors later on).
11. Do your brows before foundation and before eyeshadow too. Then clean them up with some concealer and a tiny detail brush. Set them with brow gel. The best brow products are by ABH.
12. Invest in good makeup brushes: zoeva, morphe, sigma, etc.
13. USE SETTING SPRAY. It’ll melt all the powders together and make it look like skin, plus the makeup will last longer.

I work in a fabric and craft store. We sell buttons (pretty obvious assumption, but I’ve been asked more times than I can count). One day this little, unassuming old lady, probably in her 80’s, came in with a jacket and asked me to help her find buttons to match. Totally fine, I’m there to help. Well as it happens, we don’t carry the right shade of powder blue that would match, except in a pack with about seven other colors.

First, she asks me to search the online site for buttons, which I can’t do unless I use my personal cell phone to access the site from there, so I said there was nothing I could do. She didn’t like this.

Second, she asks me to call our other locations and ask if they have a button that would work. I tried explaining that I can’t just call the ten other stores in my district and ask if they have any powder blue buttons, because they won’t know the shade to look for, and I can’t call without something specific for them to look for. Or at least, more specific than “powder blue button”. She didn’t like this, either.

THIRD, she grabs the multipack off of the peg and holds it up and says “well can’t you just open these and give me what I want?” To which I replied “No, they come as a set, so you have to buy the whole package.” We go back and forth for a few minutes, and she refuses to understand why I won’t open eight packages and GIVE her, not even charge her for, one button out of each package. Finally, I have to tell her that she either has to but the whole package to get her buttons, or she’s not getting them, and that’s how it works.

She got all pissy and huffy and just said “Well fine. I guess I won’t waste anymore of your time.” I apologized for not having the right thing, and told her to find me if she had more questions. She did not.

I was standing back at the counter with my other coworker when she left, and it’s a straight shot from the counter to the door. She turned around and pointed at me and YELLED, “Your attitude SUCKS!” in front of all of our other customers before storming out.

Umm… because I wouldn’t literally help you steal? Because clearly your jacket is worth more than my job. That makes sense.

Fluff month Day 1: Blush

Summary: Marinette’s not happy with Alya’s gift

“Alya, no.”

“Alya, yes.”

“Nope, I refuse.”

“Not gonna back down Mari, you know that.”

“This is borderline harassment.”

“I’m offended.  This is a gift! A very expensive one too!”

“Ok, I’ll accept the gift, and then I’ll never use it!”

“Nope, I’m gonna make you use it. Come here you.”

A thud followed two high-pitched shrieks.

“Alya,” Marinette whispered threateningly.

“Marinette,” Alya gloated, a brush held in the air like a victory pose.

The door of their flat clicked open.

“Are we saying names now, cause I’m Nino and Adrien’s here too.”

Marinette yelped, and dug her face into the cushion. Alya immediately jumped on top of her and attempted to wrench her from the sofa.

“Nino, save me!”

Adrien’s eyebrow quirked. “You’re not going to ask your boyfriend to save you?”

“I’m not letting you see me like this.”

“See you like what?”

Alya pouted. “I bought her a new blush palette and she’s refusing to wear it.”

“It makes me look like a clown!”

Nino helped Alya pry Marinette from the cushion, ignoring the petite girl’s cries of “Betrayal!

She attempted to turn her face away from her smirking boyfriend, but it was too late.

The dark red blush had been violently swept across her face with Alya’s brush, bleeding across her pale skin.

Nino held Marinette’s arms down as she attempted to struggle away, but didn’t hide his questioning look. “Al, I love you babe, but I can see why Mari doesn’t want to wear it. It’s a bit… much, for her.”

Alya stuck her tongue out at him. “But she refuses to wear any other makeup besides mascara! I just want to make her look sexy for her birthday night! I admit that I’m not great with colors, but I’m sure we can make it work.”

Adrien walked up to his whimpering girlfriend and tapped her nose. Nino let go of her arms as Adrien pulled her into his. “Oh Al, Mari doesn’t need any makeup to look sexy.”

Marinette blushed a deep red, exactly matching the shade of powder that spread across her face.

i wish i could make zodiac makeup and have a purple lipstick for scorpio in a lip balm cauldron called i’m kissing a spell on you

Klaine one-shot - “One More Day” (Rated PG13)

Tony Award winner Kurt Hummel spending one last, perfect day with his husband, Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Blaine Anderson, before his tour of duty begins.

This is also a re-write. Warning for heavy angst and mention of character death. Otherwise, I’m not giving too much away on this one. Enter at your own risk.

Read on AO3.

Kurt whisks his bowl of egg whites until his omelet base is dangerously close to becoming meringue. Standing in front of the kitchen stove with a huge lump in his throat, his eyes dart to the microwave clock, the switching numbers causing him to jump as if they’re gun shots going off without warning. He’s waited too long. He shouldn’t be down here making breakfast. He should be upstairs, waking his husband.

They haven’t even started their day, and he’s already doing everything wrong.

IM SO GLAD THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE REQUESTING BC I DIDNT KNOW IF THEY WERE OPEN BUT THEY ARE SO could you please write a pref where arz (or another girlfriend for lukes) is being really awful to you behind your boyfriend's back and he finds out and defends you?

Thanks for the request, lovely! I hope I did what you were asking for lol. And I just used Calum since you didn’t specify a boy and I’m Cake af.

Also, I just want to put it out there that I don’t really have an opinion on Arzaylea. I don’t hate her, I’m not judging her. Just for the sake of this one shot, she has to seem like a bitch.

“Calum,” you whine. “Do we really have to go?”

He sighs and turns to face you as he finishes putting his shoes on. “I thought you liked the boys?”

You nod. “I do, they’re great. It’s just…” You trail off, not wanting to start any drama between anybody.

You and Calum have been together a little over a year now, and you are extremely supportive of him and the boys. However, lately, you’d been avoiding spending time with them at all costs. Well, not all of them, mostly Luke. It’s not that you don’t like Luke, in fact, you think he’s really sweet and funny. But he’s started dating this girl named Arzaylea who for some reason just hates your guts.

She’s always saying mean things to you behind the boys’ backs, and then acting like an angel to their faces. It’s really annoying because you know that Luke seems to really like her and you don’t want to say anything to him. But she’s getting you to the point where you just don’t want to go to events if she’s going to be there.

Calum notices that you’re lost in thought, so he walks over to you and wraps his arms around your waist, leaning his forehead gently against yours. The physical contact breaks you out of your trance and you glance up at him.

“Why don’t you want to go out with us, (Y/N)? I know there’s a reason. You’ve been skipping out on us a lot lately,” he says, no irritation in his voice at all. He sounds almost worried.

You shrug. “There’s no reason. I just really want to stay home is all.”

He pulls back and opens his big brown eyes as wide as he can, giving you the most adorable puppy dog face you’ve ever seen.

“Please come with me,” he begs. “It’s just one dinner to celebrate the release of the album. It’ll be over before you know it.”

You sigh loudly, diverting your eyes from his before you give into his puppy dog eyes.

“It won’t be the same without you there,” he whines.

You roll your eyes and pat his chest lightly. “You’re lucky you’re cute, Hood,” you say, turning toward the closet to find a dress to wear.

You hear him chuckle from behind you. After a few minutes of debating, you decide to just wear a simple black dress and some black heels. You’re not much of a fashion person, so most of your wardrobe consists of black. It’s the color that goes with everything.

You quickly fix your already-curly hair and touch up the makeup that you’d had on from before and then you and Calum head to the restaurant to meet the others. Calum said that the dinner would be small. It’s just you, the boys, a few crew members that helped out on the album, and Arzaylea.

You two arrive fairly quickly and you’re immediately sat at the table that had been reserved for the event. Michael and Ashton are already here, so you smile and give them each a quick hug and ‘congratulations’ before sitting down next to Calum. Some crew members that you vaguely recognize come in next. Soon every seat at the table is filled except for two: Luke and Arzaylea.

Michael checks his watch for the tenth time. The two of them are always late for everything so this shouldn’t really surprise him anymore.

“Fucking hell, Luke,” he mumbles. “I’m hungry.”

Ashton laughs at his annoyance. “Drama queen is probably still picking out the right shade of fake tan,” Ashton says quietly, but not so quietly that you don’t hear him.

“You guys don’t like Arzaylea?” You ask, surprised.

They both begin to answer when Luke appears, his hand connected to the ‘drama queen’ as Ashton’d called her. They sit and Luke apologizes for being late. Michael mutters something else under his breath, but even you can’t hear it this time.

The dinner finally gets under way, and it goes fine for the most part. You weren’t left alone with Arzaylea, so she couldn’t be mean to you.

Once everyone had finished their meals, you excuse yourself to go to the restroom and touch up your makeup. You make your way to the back of the restaurant and walk into the deserted bathroom. You glance at yourself in the mirror before pulling some powder out of your purse and opening it up to fix some areas where you’ve gone shiny.

You take no notice of the sound of the door opening and closing behind you, but suddenly you hear a familiar voice and you stop what you’re doing.

“Hey (Y/N),” Arzaylea says, coming to stand in front of the mirror beside you. Her voice is smug.

You just smile and then continue patting your face with the powder.

“Oh honey,” she says, “That dress does nothing for your body. It flattens your boobs and makes your legs look stumpy.”

She looks you up and down, her eyes roaming over every inch of your body. Even though you know that you look good in this dress, you can’t help but let her words get to you a little. You shake it off and try to ignore her, but she keeps talking.

“And don’t even get me started on that powder. It’s like three shades too dark for your skin. You’re starting to look like an Oompa Loompa,” she says, giggling.

You roll your eyes and stuff your powder back into your purse. You turn to look at her and see that she’s just smiling sadistically at you.

“Why can’t you just be nice for once? I’m always so nice to you and all you do is criticize me,” you say.

She just laughs and exits the bathroom without offering any response. You groan and follow behind her. You feel like crying at this point, and you know that you won’t last much longer before the waterworks begin.

You walk over to the table where Calum is sitting but instead of taking your seat, you lean down and whisper in his ear.

“Babe, I’m not feeling well. I think I’m going to call a cab and head home,” you tell him quietly.

He immediately turns to look at you, his worried eyes scanning over your face. “No, babe, let me drive you. We were just about done anyways.”

You shake your head. “No, stay and have some drinks with the boys. I’m fine, really.”

You don’t give him a chance to respond before you lean up and say a quick goodbye to everyone at the table and walk out of the restaurant.

Once you get outside, you start to call a cab, but tears soon begin to blur your vision. You hate this girl for making you feel like this. You don’t even know what you did to make her hate you so much.

You hear the door to the restaurant open and you spin around to see Calum walking toward you. He quickens his pace when he sees the tears in your eyes and immediately pulls you into his arms.

“Babe, what’s going on? What’s wrong?” He asks.

You sniffle, your face pressed against his shirt. You know you’re probably smearing makeup all over him, but you don’t care right now.

“I can’t stand Arzaylea,” you admit quietly.

He laughs slightly, “None of us can, baby. Is that why you’re so upset?”

You shake your head. “She’s just always so mean to me when you guys aren’t around. She insults me and puts me down and I’m so sick of it. That’s why I’ve been skipping events and stuff because I just can’t stand being around her.”

Calum is quiet for a few seconds. “She’s actually mean to you? Like to your face?”

You nod against his chest. He suddenly grabs your hand and starts pulling you back into the restaurant. You struggle weakly against his grasp, but he’s much stronger than you.

“Calum, wait, what are we doing?” You ask.

He’s silent as the two of you walk back toward the table where the rest of them are still sitting. You two stop once you’ve reached it and everyone goes silent when they see the enraged expression on Calum’s face.

Calum looks directly at Arzaylea and she smiles sweetly at him. He rolls his eyes and pulls you against him, wrapping his arm around your shoulder.

“I’m going to need you to stop being such a bitch to (Y/N),” he says, his voice low and angry. “She’s never done anything to you and you have no right to insult her and make her feel like shit.”

Everybody is silent for a few seconds after Calum says this, a look of shock on everyone’s faces. Finally, Luke speaks up.

“What is he talking about?” He asks, looking at Arzaylea.

Her face has gone completely red and she refuses to look back at him.
Calum leads you back out of the restaurant and to you guys’ car. Part of you was wanting to know what Arzaylea was going to say to try and defend herself, but the way that Luke was looking at her makes you think that she might not have much of a chance.

The ride home is silent, but Calum’s hand never leaves yours. When you get home, the two of you change out of your fancy clothes before settling on the couch. You’re reading a book and he’s on his phone, the two of you still sitting in a comfortable silence.

“Promise you’ll tell me if someone’s ever treating you like that again,” Calum suddenly says, making you lose your place on the page you were reading.

You nod. “I promise. Thank you for sticking up for me.”

“Any time, baby girl. Any time.”
