posting it early because i know i'm going to forget later

Because I love this child and he needs more love, especially his relationship with Yuuri ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

While Phichit is an incredibly friendly lovable cinnamon roll, he won’t stand for anything threatening his best friend Yuuri, even if the threat happens to be someone Yuuri loves. Yuuri clearly adores the Victor he knows now (just as much as he idolized the distant figure in the past), but Phichit won’t forget how much Victor hurt Yuuri in the past, unintentional or not.

I headcanon that on top of being a skilled figure skater, Phichit is an academic genius who skipped grades and entered college in Detroit super early where he met Yuuri, which explains their long acquaintance despite the age difference. He is very, VERY protective of Yuuri. I’ll put up a more detailed headcanon post later (and if there’s interest, possibly prequel comic of pre-YOI anime Detroit college days).

Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11

Chapter 12. Baz.

I have to focus.

I’ve been sharing a room with Snow for months, in his human form, and he trusted me. There are so many things I know about him that he never wanted me to know.

I have to use this to my advantage. I have to forget about my feelings and finally avenge my mother. Snow may be more shocked and upset at the moment, but he knows things about me too. I have to get in first.

I can still hear the sounds he was making when he came to find me after I’d beaten him up, collapsing on his bed and whimpering for me to come and kiss it all better. Ignoring him and leaving him to hurt felt like the filthiest, lowest thing I’ve ever done, but comforting my sworn enemy – the son of my mother’s killer – that would have been worse.

I have the room to myself. I suppose Snow is off bashing into things until he runs out of steam (Simon used to do that when he was frustrated about uni, and I’d tease him about it until he forgot to be upset) or maybe he’s off performing wondrous acts of heroism. I use the opportunity to speak to some of the staff and find out who I should talk to in order to request a room change. Once I’ve been directed to the appropriate member of staff, I write down their name and phone number on a slip of paper and slip it into one of my textbooks.

I have to think about it before I make a decision. I might still be able to use the roommate situation to my advantage, even if it means I constantly want to fight him.

This time it’s Snow who doesn’t return to the room at night. I figure he’s found somewhere else to sleep (maybe Agatha’s – wouldn’t that be fucking perfect), and I fall into a fitful sleep. I keep waking up and glancing over to check if he’s there, even though I know he won’t be.

Rebelcaptain fic: all the rumours say

For @rebelcaptainprompts #8: agony, fingers and shiver

Sometimes, she had to stop and wonder briefly about how the hell she had ended up here.

Somehow, Jyn Erso had gotten through the initial bloodshed and trauma of being dragged bloodied and broken, but ultimately alive, off Scarif. She had worked her way through the appropriate length of time it had taken for the screaming night terrors to work their way down to just the occasional nightmare. She’d been a shell of herself for so long that she’d even had to relearn who she was without aliases to hide behind. But she’d had Cassian at her side. Somehow, that had made it ok.

She’d told herself that she’d stayed with the rebellion because she believed in the cause. But really, she had just believed in him.

(“Are – are we ever going to talk about this?” he had gasped once, face buried in her shoulder as she was pressed against the bare wall of his room. Their hands had fumbled, everything new and awkward and thrilling and Jyn had desperately kissed away the answer.

   Someday, she had thought.

   I promise, someday).

“Lucas! Lucas! Were you listening to a word I was saying?” Isadora Smackle’s voice is loud and disruptive and it effectively snaps Lucas from his daze, and he focuses his attention back on his best friend, who’s staring at him with a cocked eyebrow and an annoyed look on her face. He grins sheepishly, knowing that he’d been caught.

“No, sorry, Smackle. You were talking about your chemistry class though, right?” Lucas takes a sip of his water, desperately trying to keep his eyes on his friend, and now the brunette girl three tables down from them. He watches Smackle roll her eyes, seemingly knowing exactly where Lucas’ attention was, but she didn’t comment.

I'm fairly new to the S/C ship, but I've seen a few references to the idea that they broke up briefly in 2014. What was going on then that supported that idea? And then what was the event that made it seem like they were back together?

October/November 2014 was right after season 1 wrapped so both Sam and Cait were in LA. I was just coming into the fandom at that point so I don’t know too many details but it was when Sam started showing up at random parties w this girl, Cody Kennedy, including Matthew Morrison’s Halloween party and a couple others. He looked straight up miserable and sick in a lot of pics from that time and then at the Bafta party him and Cait went to (and he was SUPER excited to see Cait based on his tweets), while they looked gorgeous, they definitely weren’t their usual giggly, happy selves it seemed. It was just a very weird time but looking back on it now it also strikes me as very similar to what has happened with every other random chick to appear in Sam’s life. It later became evident that Cody dating Sam was purely a publicity stunt. She was (still is???) an aspiring actress. If they dated at all it was for her gain….sound like anyone else? Her mom also posted on FB that they “broke up” because Sam got back together with his girlfriend in the UK. hmmmm

AND THEN. in early December, Sam tweeted about a taxi driver who was his love coach and made him think about a few things. Also around that time, they went back to Scotland for pickups and filmed that famous Valentine’s video. It later came out in an interview, I forget where, that Sam said that was the point where he realized they had something really special. They meaning him and Cait most likely. So it’s around then a lot of us think they got back together and/or made things official and permanent. Lo and behold, in January 2015, we got the PCA’s where they were giggly and flirty AF, the hiking selfie w Cait’s sister, Sam saying Cait was keeping him right, the giggly, glued together stiff one interview at the BAFTA tea etc etc.

tell us about amelia peabody?? should we read it???

all right, my friend

the short answer to this question is “yes, absolutely,” but i can try to elaborate

do you like indiana jones? the mummy? boy have i got something for you

the series:

  • it’s 19 books long, which seems like a lot but trust me, it’s worth it
  • elizabeth peters aka barbara mertz is the author
    • she’s an egyptologist so the history & archaeology are really good!
  • the whole series is written as amelia’s journals, with some other povs added later
    • listen i love amelia’s perspective but manuscript h …
  • amelia is a super unreliable narrator but she’s also hilarious, which is a great combination imo
  • the series starts in 1884 and goes up to 1923
    • especially in later books the political issues of the time become pretty important
  • the first book is crocodile on the sandbank and it’s pretty short so go for it (reading/publication order here)
  • (almost) every year the family goes to egypt to excavate and they always get caught in a mystery
    • amelia is the only one happy about this

  • i literally don’t even know how to begin to describe her
  • she’s a self-proclaimed feminist (established pretty early on in the first book) and she brings the feminist movement of the late 19th/early 20th century up pretty often
  • her weapon of choice is a parasol
    • a steel-tipped parasol
  • she and her husband have the best relationship
    • sometimes they place bets when they’re trying to solve a mystery
  • she’s also a lowkey misandrist it’s great

everyone else:

  • there are approximately 15000 characters so i can’t talk about them all
  • the family gets to be pretty big by the end of the series but it also gets to be pretty diverse
  • lots of great egyptian characters
  • lots of great female characters
  • a lot of actual historical figures get worked in as well, like howard carter and t. e. lawrence
  • and we can’t forget that villain, that wretch, that consummate master of evil, that genius of crime

this is already really long so basically: i love this series with everything in me, it’s one of the funniest series i’ve ever read and i love everyone in it and it’s just great overall. 10/10

(mild spoilers under the cut but no more than what you’d get from reading my liveblogs)

How would the maknae line react if their girlfriend touched them in a very sexual way (like, they would be shocked or they would enjoy it). I'm very sorry for this question :( xD

Sorry for no post yesterday, and sorry for how long this took, but here it is~ And yes, I know you just requested the maknae line, but this request is special~~ IT’S MY 69th LONG REACTION! *throws confetti* ahaha, but since it was the 69th request, and it was a smutty-ish request, I figured I’d do all the members for the heck of it ;p Hope you guys enjoy!

Gifs aren’t mine

Seokjin was shocked when you surprised him with such an intimate touch, but it wasn’t because you’d just surprised him. No, his shock came from the fact that he normally planned when the two of you were going to do anything sexual. He’d set up a romantic date or he’d make foods that were considered aphrodisiacs or he’d start some music, light a few candles, and toss a few rose petals onto the bed; his style seemed to come straight from a chick-flick. And yet now you were being spontaneous, and he wondered if you wanted him to be spontaneous as well. Were you tired of his carefully planned romance? Granted, after you’d assured him that you weren’t bored of him, he would probably just be embarrassed by your forwardness and his initial reaction to it, though he’d try not to let it kill the mood.

Yoongi was nearly always working, and if he wasn’t then he was busy with something else or he was spending time with you. If you surprised him with a sexual touch while he was working while he was at work, he would probably be annoyed, but if he was working from home, then he’d only act annoyed. He’d seem serious, but his body’s reaction to it would tell you differently. He might try to halfheartedly push you away, but persisting for only a few more moments would make him cave; it might take longer if he was really concerned with working, but he normally stayed at the studio if he was that busy. And, of course, if he was just there to spend time with you, he probably wouldn’t be all that surprised by a sexual touch, letting it quickly progress into something more.

Hoseok just let you touch him for a while, not really saying anything, yet he was smiling at you so as to show you he appreciated the touch. After just watching you touch him for a while, though, he felt the need to touch you back, though he did it in a very nonchalant way; or he tried to, at least. He acted as if it wasn’t a big deal, which was pretty much how you were acting, and yet you could tell he was even more affected now that he’d joined in on the touching; when you’d first started touching him, you could either see or feel his arousal, though it wasn’t enough to be obvious. Now that he was touching you, though, you wouldn’t be surprised if someone looking through your window was able to see just how much it was affecting him. He never addressed it, though, and his grip would tighten just a bit if you tried pointing it out, not enough to hurt, but enough to let you know that you’d done enough teasing already, and now it was his turn.

Namjoon would never turn you away if you wanted to initiate something sexual, but a simple touch? Really? He’d raise an eyebrow at you, recline back in his chair, and motion to what you’d touched. “You should finish what you started,” he’d tell you, acting as if he was just telling you to finish folding laundry or doing dishes; you couldn’t tell if he was serious. And then, a moment later, he smirked, and you knew what he was doing; he could easily laugh this whole thing off if you weren’t ready or willing to continue, but he was hoping you would actually take that touch further. If you didn’t, he’d take care of it himself in the bathroom, then return to tell you you’d be punished the next time you teased him like that. If you did, though, he’d be sure to repay you later.

Jimin turned to you, eyes wide with surprise and excitement, when you surprised him with a sexual touch. If you stopped there, with just the single touch, he’d probably try to play off his reaction before giving up and just pouting at you; he wouldn’t push you to continue, but he really didn’t like being teased. However, if you were up for more, he would immediately begin to reciprocate; his hands would be all over you, but he would be nearly unable to kiss you as his mouth had turned up into a smirk. He was cocky, and he wasn’t going to hide it; you’d touched him first, which must have meant that you found him irresistible, and he wasn’t going to let you forget that any time soon. He wasn’t going to let anyone forget that.

Taehyung could have of two reactions, depending on what stage of the relationship you were in. If it was early in the relationship and the two of you weren’t touching each other like that often, if at all, he would almost jerk away; he was startled, yes, but more than that he wasn’t sure if you two were ready for that stage yet, as neither of you had really talked about it before. If you wanted to continue, he’d at least ask that you talk about it a bit before or, if you were eager, immediately after. But, if you had been dating, and sexual touches weren’t exactly uncommon occurrences, he’d still be a bit shocked if you surprised him with a random touch, though only because he wasn’t prepared for it. He hadn’t specifically tried to turn you on, and so he didn’t know if you were horny for another reason, if you were just trying to tease him, or if you wanted to make him horny. Either way, he wasn’t going to complain.

Jungkook’s initial reaction probably wasn’t what you would be expecting or hoping for; he would probably jump, surprised by both the touch itself and the fact that you hadn’t even ran your hand up his leg or down his chest first, instead choosing to just go for it. He kind of stared at you for a moment, wide eyed and confused, only to relax before you could either get nervous or laugh at his reaction. He became cocky moments later, and it was hard to tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing; his ego was high enough as it was, and you were sure this would lead to even more smirks and eyebrow raises that both infuriated you and turned you on at the same time. But, right then, you weren’t really worried about that, as Jungkook was now doing the exact same thing to you; touching you where only he could without any warning, cocky smile still on his face in a sort of challenge now.

Allow me to explain ep.8 (to the best of my ability)

In light of what a mess DR3 Zetsubou Hen turned out to be, I sure can’t wait for certain things to never be explained. Let’s start with one of my favorites; the extremely fascinating yet confusing episode 8.

I’m going to attempt to explain this using only the tools that the episode itself gave us.

In episode 8, Komaeda finally returned to the class. When he walked in, they gave a close shot of water dripping onto the floor from his soaking clothing. He had clearly been walking in the rain.

Moments later, as he explained how he had just seen Tsumiki on the other side of the school, we saw a flashback where he was holding an umbrella.

I caught a lot of weird, unexplained shit in this episode, but this one somehow managed to slip past me until someone else pointed it out.

Since the flashback was Komaeda’s, there’s no reason not to believe that what we saw was true. At one point, he had an umbrella, so there was no reason for him to be wet. Somewhere between seeing Tsumiki on the other side of the school and coming to the class, he lost the umbrella. What was he doing, right?

This part here was a straight-up lie. It’s amazing how easily you can tell he was lying to Nanami.

It wasn’t luck. I would say that he followed Tsumiki to find out about the underground passage. That makes sense. Seems like the logical conclusion.

But why was he missing his umbrella when he returned to the classroom? All he needed to do was follow Tsumiki for long enough to realize that there was a secret passage in front of the founder’s statue. He didn’t need to go down into it - and, as we know, going down there would have been very dangerous. As things are, though, we have to assume that whatever he saw during that flashback made him realize that he needed to kill Junko, otherwise he wouldn’t have confronted her. If he wasn’t expecting her, he would have, idk, acted surprised?

So yes, we can also safely assume that he went under the statue after he followed Tsumiki.

Zetsubou Hen was never good about making the structure of the school clear. In episode 8, it looked like Komaeda and Nanami walked all the way down to the bottom and found the room with Mitarai, but then in the next episode, we saw lots of long hallways, secret doors, etc. They were able to go from that passage all the way back to the old school building where the first game’s trial room was, meaning that they were connected in some way through the underground passageways.

We know what else was in the old school building. Myeah, Kamukura Izuru. So that explains more or less how Komaeda would’ve known about human experimentation being done around those parts. For all we know, he could’ve discovered their labs.

Still following me? He followed Tsumiki into the passage, wandered around a bit, ended up on the other side of the school at the old school building where they had been experimenting on Hinata, and then…?

I mean, that all sounds like a nice, light jog to me. Why was he missing his umbrella? This umbrella is vital to understanding the episode! I demand an explanation!

I’m sorry, I don’t have an explanation for the umbrella. Not really, at least. See, while he was in that other building, I think he may have happened upon some other things. It’s really unclear to me when DR:Zero was supposed to take place during the timeline of Zetsubou Hen… But regardless, we know that Junko was brainwashing some of the reserve course students down there as well as brutally torturing the school’s committee members. Depending on how bizarre Komaeda’s adventure got, he could’ve misplaced the umbrella in some kind of scuffle, but as the story is now, there’s no explanation for what happened to it. Goodbye, umbrella…

Now here’s one that I totally can’t explain without making wild guesses based off of nothing explicitly contextual. During and prior to the episode, we were given no reason to assume that Komaeda would know of Junko or Mukuro. My guesses would be like… Maybe he researched the incoming 78th class like he did with the 77th. Maybe he heard about Junko from one of the reserve students. Maybe one of the committee members she was torturing told him about her and begged him to kill her. ((Maybe Tengan told him.)) MmmmMmmn- hell if I know!

But that brings me to the next unsolved mystery.

Everyone’s favorite - Gunmaeda. Who let this boy have a gun? No, seriously, who gave this to him? Where’d he get it? He said “overseas” and I actually… tend to believe that’s true somehow.

Unfortunately, trying to explain the gun with that angle leads me to yet another unsolved mystery.

Jumping back to episode 7 for this one. They never had to show us a plane for us to assume that Komaeda was on some “trip around the world” like Jin and Kizakura were joking. (For the record, I think they were wrong.) They could’ve shown us some palm trees and the ocean and- Oh, there’s Komaeda, bathing under a waterfall! The plane wasn’t necessary, but at least it lets me think that he really did pick up a gun overseas. He was somewhere far, far away from HPA, so maybe there was an opportunity for him to acquire a gun there.

There’s still the question of why he would’ve gotten on a plane at all in the first place, though. That’s why the conspiracy theorist in me wants to think that someone forced him onto the plane. But That’s Just a Theory.™

My last point is… This is a convoluted one. A lot of people have assumed now that this scene was fanservice, but I still don’t think it was. Fanservice between these two could’ve been done a lot more easily than this. For instance, they could’ve had Komaeda catch a glimpse of Hinata in that early scene where they passed by each other. They could’ve randomly made eye contact and we would’ve been happy because we could’ve taken it to mean that they had a connection in the future even if they didn’t have one here in Zetsubou Hen.

But instead, they chose to break canon by retconning ch0 of SDR2 so that Komaeda could meet Kamukura. Then, to cover up that retcon, they made the absurd suggestion that Junko had erased the memories of Kamukura from everyone in the class (even though Komaeda was the only one who met him). On top of that, to make it even harder to understand, Kamukura said that he was going to erase his own memories of them so that they could meet fresh. I’m assuming that he meant something other than the New World Program… But we know that the NWP erased their memories as Despairs anyway, so that would’ve been a double dose of memory erasure! W-what? Seems redundant for him to do that when he was going to forget them later anyway. They didn’t have to mention that… Unless it was just to cover up that retcon.

But like I said, that means that the retcon wasn’t necessary in the first place …Unless it served a purpose. Until the show is completely over, a part of me thinks that Komaeda really was supposed to meet him there for some reason. That’s what the scene felt like. Otherwise, this is one of the weirdest decisions I’ve ever seen. If it was fanservice, then they made things very, very needlessly difficult for themselves. Amazing!

As far as this scene goes, though, it seemed like Kamukura appeared just to interfere with Komaeda shooting Junko. While that makes sense in the story, my confusion about it still stands. Nanami could’ve tackled Komaeda. Tsumiki could’ve arrived and saved Junko. They didn’t have to retcon the game to make this scene proceed with the exact same results.

Now, to conclude, here’s a list of all the things I was unable to 100% explain without strong evidence to confirm my assumptions. (Plotholes. It’s a list of plotholes.)

  • Where the hell Komaeda’s poor umbrella went
  • What Komaeda saw when he followed Tsumiki into the passage
  • How he knew about the human experimentation
  • Why Komaeda knew about Junko and Mukuro (The most questionable of all, tbh.)
  • Why Komaeda knew that Junko was a threat that needed to be eliminated
  • Why he knew that Mukuro would be there, be a threat, and would need to be distracted by Pekoyama
  • What Komaeda was doing on a plane
  • How Komaeda returned to the school after apparently being stranded
  • Where he obtained the gun and why he had it on him at school
  • Why the scene with Kamukura occurred at all

This is my favorite episode. I absolutely hated this show, but I unconditionally love this terrible episode because it left me SO confused that it inspired me to investigate it. I don’t think I have to explain why it’s a bad episode, right? Nothing got explained in a satisfactory manner. It raised questions that you cannot answer without making assumptions. The only way this episode can make sense is with explanations that sound like “He probably did this, then he probably did that, etc.” You can make some good guesses, but even the best explanation will probably have many questions left over because there’s just no way to prove anything.

With the two remaining episodes we have, I hope they’ll do something about this, but who knows! If they don’t, I’m almost kind of fine with it at this point because this incredibly bad episode is like a treasure to me now. It’s kind of perfect in how mysteriously bad it is.

“It’s just work related stuff, dude. I’m not going to fall for her. Also, if you haven’t forgotten already, I have myself a wonderful girlfriend,” Yoongi replies, reminding the other lad on about you, but Namjoon grunts at that statement.

“It’s not me who forgot, but you will,” says Namjoon lastly before Donghyuk enters inside the studio with the new project being handed out.

Hi! So my birthday is Sept 11th and I realize this is probably super early but I don't want to forget. Thanks in advance. I'm sure I'll love it!

Her eyes flutter open in the still dark room. It’s early. Most days, she’d be up not much later than this to go into the woods. But not today. It’s grey and rainy and cold outside her blanket and the warmth created by its thick down and her warm boy. She turns into him, face pressed against his back, and grazes her fingers along the fabric that covers his belly. She’s rewarded when he rolls to face her and still sleeping, wraps his arms around her. And there, nestled in his arms, she drifts back to sleep.

I saw that previous ask about tutorials, idk about others but imo if you could explain a bit how you paint those more realistic paintings that you do, it would be lovely ;v; I'm struggling with those.. Your work is wonderful!

Thank you so much!! I kind of regret not taking more WIP shots but I just forget to while I’m focussed on a painting. I’m not sure how useful this will be since I am not a portrait artist and only started painting portraits to see if I could. I get bored with drawing precise cartoons all the time. Painting expressively is like a little art holiday, haha.

But I digress, I’ll try to piece together something coherent from what I have… Hold onto your hats.

The question I get asked time and again is ‘Which brushes do you use?’ I use the standard oil brush in a little-known program called ArtRage, which, incidentally, I highly recommend to anyone who wants a more realistic painting experience. It really helps if you have used real paint before since ArtRage is as close as you’re going to get to the real thing. It would be impossible for me to create paintings like this in Photoshop with its sadly quite limited brush mechanics.

Here are my brush settings:

It’s almost always set to square head and I vary the pressure, thinners and loading depending on what I’m painting. When painting a large area I turn on Insta-Dry. If I want to colours to blend more I turn off Auto Clean.

This image was posted a while ago on my blog. As you can see, I start by slapping on large areas of colour to describe the shapes and lighting, then I go in and define it. It’s most important to get the first bit done properly. If I failed to define the form at this stage, it would be a disaster later into the painting.

This is the earliest shot I have of this particular painting. I am defining shape at this point and trying to get a feel for the colours I want to use. My general rule is to paint with more saturated colours. I make the base darker so there is room for highlights later. I repainting with different colours many times until I am happy with the colour values (which I will discuss in a minute).

I used to get disillusioned at this early stage because the painting didn’t look good straight away. I imagine this is a common problem for artists trying new things but after some practice I stopped critiquing myself. This part always looks a mess, it’s supposed to.

Everything at the point looks a bit soft and crude, so I zoom in and start defined areas. This part is dreadfully time-consuming. I slap paint down and take it up again, or paint over and over until it just looks right to me. I don’t know how to explain this part as it is just purely down to my intuition and taste. I want it to look muddled but still make sense. I don’t see the point of just painting exactly what is there, so I look for hints of things and exaggerate them. Say, if there is a hint of blue or red I will blow it up and heavily saturate it simply because I like it - it’s not supposed to be there. I take these colours and put dashes of them throughout the painting.

Now let’s talk about colour values.

So here’s my story…. On April 24th, Taylor reblogged a video of me dancing to Bad Blood and ended up lurking my blog, liking several posts (I obviously FREAKED OUT !!! Because that was the first time Taylor directly interacted with me and it made me feel so happy inside) anyways, fast forward to June 9th, three days before the Philly show. I wasn’t planning on posting about the show a lot because I’m going to another one in July with my best friend wildeztdreamz and we were going to try and meet her then, but I kind of figured it’s nearly impossible to meet Taylor out of all the fans. Therefore, I posted a few things about going to the show because I was at my cousin’s house making shirts for it!! Next thing you know, I got a message from Taylor Nation (I started crying). Then on June 10th, I got a phone call from Sierra from Taylor Nation (the LOVELIEST woman ever, and her country accent is my favorite thing) and she said she loved my videos and that Taylor loved them, and she proceeded to tell me that I would have to come a little earlier to the show because there would be meet and greet passes for me at will call. At that point, I started bawling my eyes out on the phone and I’m pretty sure Sierra couldn’t understand a word I said after that; she kept congratulating me and I kept thanking her. Then, two days finally passed by (I had to keep meeting her a secret), and I left school early to go to the concert. Since I knew ahead of time that I was meeting her, I had an outfit planned and I also wrote her a letter (it’s probably really embarrassing because it was so late when I wrote it, I don’t even remember what I said, but I remember I explained what my URL meant in the letter!!). When I got to the concert, we (my mom and I) went to will call and they kept sending us to different will call stations and I really got a workout walking around the stadium in high heels in 90 degree weather. Next thing you know, I got the meet and greet pass! My mom and I waited in line to get in the stadium and since I had to go alone to the meet and greet, I found this mother and daughter who won the Keds contest, and I walked with them to the section we had to wait in to meet Taylor. I talked to the mom about how I got my meet and greet pass, and she ended up watching the video of me dancing to Bad Blood. They were really nice to me and the little girl was sosososo cute. Anyways, we waited outside and then started moving, and the line stopped on these stairs (IT WAS SO HOT) but finally we walked past the loft 89 place and waited in an air conditioned hallway type room. Then, they called the first group into the loft 89 room to meet Taylor. Next, it was my turn. So, I walked into loft 89 (it’s absolutely the most adorable place ever, and it’s way smaller than you’d imagine but it’s also way better than you’d imagine) and then I saw Taylor in the small little room with the camera, and everyone who met her came out smiling and freaking out. It finally hit me that I was going to meet Taylor, and when it was my turn they handed me the card to get my picture later off the website. When I walked in the small room with Taylor, she was turned around talking to her people. I didn’t want to be annoying but I kind of like tapped on her shoulder (I think) and said “taylor” and she turned around and casually (as if we were like childhood friends) said “oh hey Jen” and my heart stopped. After that moment everything was kind of a blur, but I asked her if I could stand on her left side and she was like “sure!!” She hugged me and I thanked her for watching and liking my videos and she said “oh yeah I love your videos!!” And I think she said something else about my videos before we took the picture and then I walked away and right before I left I shouted “I LOVE YOU” and she said “I’ll see you online.” Once I walked out, I started crying so hard and heard someone say “see I told you people cry after meeting her!!” I couldn’t control my emotions because she knew my name and told me she loved my videos and I just kept remembering that throughout the night and couldn’t contain myself. After the meet and greet, I got to my seats and went on to see if Taylor was online and I saw that she liked two of my posts. I started crying in front of my mom. It made me even more emotional because the last thing she said was “I’ll see you online” and she stayed true to her word and went on my page and liked my post. I just love Taylor so much for making all of this possible. I am so grateful to have her in my life. She is the most beautiful person inside and out (especially in real life) and she cares about us all so much. The concert was the BEST thing ever! I danced like nobody was watching (even though several people were) and I don’t regret it at all. Taylor, if you’re reading this, thank you for not only inviting me to meet you but for indirectly introducing me to so many wonderful people online. I’ve never felt more welcome anywhere, and even though I may not be the prettiest or most popular person in school, I feel happy because of Taylor, and NOTHING can or will beat that. I hope each and every one of you gets to experience this feeling of pure happiness and joy, and I can’t wait to read all of your stories one day. I will never forget this moment or experience. (I’m going to finish this off with explaining my username just in case any of you still don’t understand it: urineluv is a pun for you are in love, okay goodbye now I love you all)

Could you describe the Pastel! Dan au? I see fanart all over the place and I'm curious about its origin!

sure! i’m gonna like„ make a summary of my own au right here, okay? ;v;

this is super long but to be honest it’s the whole au;; i won’t answer any questions about the fic anymore :U

Dan is a 17 year old boy in high school that likes wearing pastel goth styled clothing. He doesn’t get much fuss about it, only a few insults or so. He’s used to them overall.

One day Dan’s father gets a promotion and they have to move to London. He doesn’t really mind it, since he has an internet friend called PJ in London, and with this they would be able to meet up more often.
However Dan’s stressed about his new school because of the many teenager dramas he has seen, but the whole place is actually pretty nice and better than he expected. He does indeed gets a few insults in here as well, but it’s just all ordinary for him. Well, at least he tries to think like that.

He learns that a guy called Phil Lester, who is 18, is the most popular guy of the whole school. Dan’s first thought about him that he should avoid him at all costs, since Phil sounds like a “bad boy” that would probably beat him up in two seconds. ( While, in fact, Phil is popular because of how sweet he is. )

Dan really likes flowers, which is an obvious reason to why he likes flower shops a lot. He meets a tattooed guy there, and they spend hours talking about flower kinds. Being the dummy he is, Dan forgets to ask for his name. “Oh okay wow,” He thinks. “Now this is both embarrassing and cliche.

A few days later, he meets up with PJ again, and they have a drinking party in Dan’s room. A lot of crying happens, with both of them being emotional drunks.

Dan goes to a very popular park quite often, because even though there’s a lot of people around ( couples, old people, just some adults smoking ) it’s a really quiet place. He notices that the tattooed guy is there as well, and they sit down together to talk for a while.
What’s your name, by the way?” Dan asks awkwardly, playing with his sweater’s sleeves. “Sorry, I forgot to ask last time. That must’ve been kinda rude.”
The guy laughs. “No, no. It’s okay, I forgot to ask as well.” He turns to him, a small smile on his face. “I’m Phil, Lester.”
Wait, you’re— You’re Phil Lester? I thought— I thought that—
They spend the early morning there together, making daisy flower crowns.

As the time passes, it starts to become a bit harder for Dan to stand all the insults he’s facing. It’s not only an insult for him, but also for his pride. Getting fed up with all those guys, a fight breaks out and Dan punches someone in the face for the first time in his life.
He’s proud for like, what, three minutes? He makes his way back to his home, with a purple eye and blood stained knuckles. As his mother scolds him and his wounds gets fixed by her, the realization of what he had done hits him.
This is the thing that improves Dan’s character in the fic. The transition between a teenager and a young adult; making you own choices, stupid or not.

Phil and him talks a lot about this, and I’m gonna be honest— Phil doesn’t “save” him. Phil is there for Dan’s emotional support; a person he could go up to when he needs to talk, a person who will listen. Dan improves himself by himself in the fic— and so does Phil.

There’s a period of time that Dan feels empty and weird; like he had done something that he could never ever erase from his past. But just like Phil says to him, “Just because you did something you deeply regret, doesn’t mean you can’t fix it.”
And Dan fixes it.

Chris, Phil’s friend from his class, meets with Dan and PJ as well and they go out to have fun like simple teenagers. Why I’m also telling this is because all of them feels really alive in those meetings; they truly do feel happy with their friends. ( I think as the readers you all should also know that they’re happy as well. )

As the summer comes, Phil starts his Youtube channel. The summer passes quickly, but also happily. Dan’s emotional state improves a lot. Phil talks about how he wants to be taken seriously as well, not just some “funny guy that doesn’t have any problems” because he is smart, very smart. And he is more than just a simple punk guy.

Phil goes to university, while Dan experiences a lot of existential crisises. The future worries him, the thought of making a very very bad decision scares him— like he did before.
But he remembers that if something that he deeply regrets happens,
he could fix it somehow.

The rest of the story isn’t much different from real life events, with just Dan’s clothing style being pastel goth and Phil being punk.

It’s a story of their teenager awkwardness and mistakes, but also how they fixed those mistakes.

Dan really likes daisy flower crowns.

Wait. Actual holocaust survivors are saying that Trump's like another Hitler? I hadn't heard it like that, just that Jews were comparing him to Hitler. I'm not trying to make it less than it is, because this is actually quite terrifying and he cannot take office, but I just hadn't heard it reported like that.

Yup. Including Anne Frank’s stepsister.

And as I noted, what makes Trump supporters even worse than those who helped Hitler come into power is that we have an example from history of just what happens when someone with these ideologies comes into power, whereas 1930s Germany didn’t have that to look back on until after it happened. People back then also said things like, “Oh, he’s only saying all these things to appeal to [insert demographic here],” just like some are saying now of Trump.

What many people forget when they start throwing around terms like Nazi, and fascist, and comparing people to Hitler based on no criteria other than not liking someone is that those are actual political ideologies that can be quantified, and that Hitler did indeed preach a singular brand of poison; when the terms are tossed around lightly by the ignorant, then when people who actually know what they’re talking about (i.e. Holocaust survivors, or people who have done course work in Holicaust Liturature–like I have) warn of them, it’s heard as simply more “name-calling,” when no, it’s a real and dire warning.

And yeah, it’s all there with Trump and his followers. Including the bit about special badges for a religious/ethnic minority, that he plans to “round up” certain groups of people “humanely,” and on and on. (The Nazis claimed they were merely “relocating” the Jews they rounded up to areas that needed repopulating. It wasn’t until later that the death camps became common knowledge.) If you change a few names here and there (with the main focus on Muslims and Mexicans instead of Jews), Mein Kampf reads very much like a Trump manifesto. The only thing missing is that I haven’t heard Trump pounding home that he is “defending Christianity” the way Hitler did, but his followers–including professional disgrace to humanity and evangelical fundamentalist leader Pat Robertson, and a huge chunk of the “religious right” in general–fill that gap in quite nicely.

To those who think, “That could never happen here,” I offer a few snippets from an interview conducted post-war by Jewish scholar Martin Mayer, from his book, They Thought They Were Free: The Germans 1933-1945 (the book is a collection of interviews with rank-and-file Germans who had joined the Nazi party for reasons ranging from earnest belief to self-preservation–None of them knew he was Jewish until the book was published):

“If the last and worst act of the whole regime had come immediately after the first and the smallest, thousands, yes, millions would have been sufficiently shocked if, let us say, the gassing of the Jews in “43” had come immediately after the “German Firm” stickers on the windows of non-Jewish shops in “33”. But of course this isn’t the way it happens. In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C?  And so on to Step D.”

Until finally…

“You have accepted things you would not have accepted five years ago, a year ago, things that your father, even in Germany, could not have imagined.”

“Suddenly it all comes down, all at once. You see what you are, what you have done, or, more accurately, what you haven’t done (for that was all that was required of most of us: that we do nothing). You remember those early meetings of your department in the university when, if one had stood, others would have stood, perhaps, but no one stood. A small matter, a matter of hiring this man or that, and you hired this one rather than that. You remember everything now, and your heart breaks. Too late. You are compromised beyond repair.

I could go on, but the link above and my “rob gets political” and “rob talks about fascism” tags should present it pretty well.

A continuation of sorts

A sequel to my original post, 8 days, 5 hours, 42 minutes, and 39 seconds. (psst, that’s a link to it)

There was something satisfying to be said about the act of washing her face at night before bed.  It wasn’t the massaging of her tired facial muscles, or the warmth of the water soothing away the stress of the day.  It was the instant gratification of witnessing something change from complex and guarded, to simple within a matter of a few seconds.  With just a few wipes of her fingertips, her facade had retired to a few smears across a damp cloth, leaving her simple self staring back at her in the mirror.

She tried to smile at her reflection, but even her reflection knew it wasn’t genuine.

The moisturizer spread across her skin with ease, from hairline to collarbones, the final step in her nightly routine rushed.  The mirror seemed to ask more questions, doubt her decisions, all of which she was struggling not to deal with yet.

The wooden floor felt warmer to her feet than the tile in the bathroom, a welcome feeling as she crossed to her closet.  She opened the door and audibly gasped at the barren space, momentarily forgetting that she hadn’t brought everything with her when she left.  A few outfits hung to the left, four pairs of shoes underneath.  It’s difficult to figure out what to pack when you’re unsure if your exit is temporary or permanent.  Necessities or everything?  A few weeks or from now on?

She shrugged off her new bathrobe, which was still slightly stiff no matter how many times she washed it, and hung it to the right, an attempt to fill the void.  It just needs to be broken in, she thought to herself.  That was becoming the theme with nearly every aspect of her life. Her bathrobe, her sheets, her apartment, her heart.  So many things that needed to be broken in before they felt comfortable, like they were hers.

The down blanket engulfed her, swallowing her whole into the nest of faux comfort, as she pulled it up to her chin.  Her hand snaked under the pillows, searching. Relief rushed through her body as her fingertips made contact with the soft material of his Knicks t-shirt.  He had to have noticed that it was missing by now.  At least, she hoped he had.  She gently pressed it against her face, nuzzling the softness of the worn material. His scent still lingered in the gray threads, 8 days later.

She was no stranger to this situation, as she’d been here before.  Years ago after he’d gone missing in Bellefleur, and she’d been left to pick up the pieces, alone and pregnant.  She would leave work early sometimes when the feelings of desperation and yearning became too overwhelming, and crawl into his bed with one of his shirts.  Burying her sorrows in his belongings and his scent.

The tears she tried hopelessly to keep at bay slid to the collar of his Knicks shirt as she remembered the sleepless nights when her mind refused to quiet.  The 2am drives to Alexandria, when the roads were wide open and empty.  Being greeted by stale air and deafening silence as she walked through the door.  Feeding his fish because she was convinced that if they lived, then he would as well.  He had to. Crawling into his bed, the sheets shockingly cold to the touch.  Such a stark difference from just months before when they were warmed by their body heat from making love.  Praying to God through gritted teeth with such conviction as she gripped his shirt, begging for His mercy through muffled cries. Bargaining whatever she had to give, if she could just have him back.

The difference was that this time there would be no call saying he’d been returned.  She purposely left her phone in her purse, knowing if her phone rang that it wouldn’t be his name on the screen. This time he was able to come back to her, but he made no effort to find his way.

“Oh, God,” she muttered, a sob breaking free of her chest.  The all-too-familiar smoldering ache surrounded her heart, spreading throughout her body like acid through her veins.  He swore she wouldn’t have to go through this again. Not for another 40 years, at least, Scully, he’d promised.  His body may still be present, but everything that she’d fallen in love with had disappeared months ago.  He’d lied.

“I couldn’t,” she started, but another sob wracked her body, cutting off the words that sat at the tip of her tongue.  Her knuckles turned white as she gripped the t-shirt tightly, her knees pulled to her chest. Pillows surrounded her face, smothering her escalating whimpers.  She roughly rolled onto her back, her hands balled into fists.

“I couldn’t save you this time,” she whined into the darkness.  Her hand grabbed a hold of the nearest pillow, and threw it forcefully across the room. “But I couldn’t drown with you either!”

Her chest heaved, and the delicate skin around her eyes felt raw. Concentrating on the burning from the salt of her tears, she relished in the physical pain, inviting it in.

Exhaustion finally swept over her as her wails had faded to hiccups, her muscles heavy.  A low groan escaped her lips as she curled over to her side, his t-shirt snug against her breasts.
