post op knee surgery

Home pt. 2 - Recovery

A/N: Here it is.  The much-anticipated, much requested continuation of the knee surgery blurb, Home. Thank you to my amazing crew for helping me flesh this out and offering their support and editing!  Enjoy!

Niall had been attentive and sweet, catering to your every need.  It had actually started to get on your nerves.  He had the bandage change schedule set in his phone.  Each time the “ding” sounded on his phone, he came into the room with a full-blown first aid kit at the ready.  If he hadn’t been a pop star, he would’ve made an excellent nurse with his soft touch and attention to detail.

So it’ll be one year post op on Thursday for my knee. And well, I haven’t skated since. Today my goalie parter, our friend Morgan, and I went ice skating. Lets just say it’s weird to be back on the ice without any pads. We were teaching Morgan how to skate. unfortunately she got stuck with two goalies for teachers. xD I think I did pretty well. Kendra and I did a few full speed laps around the rink and I think my skating is pretty well for having a bad knee. Felt good to hit the ice. I plan on playing in a summer hockey league or doing a bunch of drop in. Time to stop being a baby and get back on the ice and playing hockey. Time to get back to what I love.
