How To Attract What You Desire:

Before you begin:

• Know what you want. What you really want. And don’t think of “how” you’ll get it.

• Write the desire in present tense on a card. It is now your goal card.

• Carry this card with you and read it often. This is putting the desire into your subconscious mind.

• Check if your goal is really what you want. Can you imagine bigger? Are you letting fear stop you? Are you answering your soul’s calling with this?

Night:

• How you fall asleep determines what shows up in your life. Everytime. Without fail. So we start our day how we fell asleep the night before, actually. Ask your self one question before you sleep: “If my wishes were fulfilled, how would I feel?” Fall asleep to that question satisfied.

• Record an MP3 or voice note of your OWN voice, reciting positive affirmations. Get examples online but personalize them. Your subconscious mind trusts your own voice. Use it.

• Never ever let yourself fall asleep feeling stress or failure. Don’t invite it in.

Morning:

• When your eyes open, set your intention for the day.

• Did you have any dreams last night? Write them down.

• Write 5 things you’re grateful for. Increase to 10 after a while and begin to include wishes that are yet to manifest e.g. “I’m grateful I now weigh __”

Day:

• Read

Think And Grow Rich

by Napoleon Hill. (PDF’s online) Read slowly and reflectively.

• Read Feeling Is The Secret by Neville Goddard (PDF’s online)

• The Secret

book/DVD is great for beginners but you’re going to have to dig deeper to pull this off.

Do what makes you smile. Read, play your music, call a friend, go for walks. Do whatever you can to lighten your mood.

Write about your desire as if it’s already happened.

Visualize your life ASSUMING the desire has already happened. How do you feel? What are you wearing? Where are you? Was manifesting easy and fun?

Remember:

and countless others have used this formula. It works, and it will work for you.

“unimportant” special interests like book series, video games, tv shows, and musicians are good and wonderful. you don’t need an “academic” special interest to be successful. special interests are helpful for you and that’s all that matters.

Pendulum 101

Alright, pals! Time to learn all about pendulum divination!

Strengths:
-Pendulums are best known for their ability to give quick yes/no answers! -Pendulums are don’t cost a lot of money and are easy to make.
-Pendulums are very easy to pick up and learn quickly… no extensive training needed!

Weaknesses:
-Pendulums require a steady hand, which some people struggle with.
-Pendulums don’t provide in-depth information, just surface-level answers.

How To Do It:
-First, set up a pendulum board. This can be a set board or cloth, or you can scribble it down on an index card. It’s traditionally two perpendicular lines, one for yes and one for no. Other things can be added as well! (Many people include a “Maybe,” “Rephrase the question,” add a circle of numbers or letters, even zodiac signs!)
-Grab your pendulum and “set” it to the board. (I usually do this by tapping each point on the board with the pendulum and saying, “yes, no, one, two,” whatever is appropriate.
-Give it a test run before asking the big questions. Ask it questions you already know, to make sure there isn’t anything interfering with the pendulum. Try to ask at least one yes and one no question!
-Ask your question out loud. Then wait. Eventually the pendulum will start swinging towards your answer!

How It Works:
There are a few different schools of thought, here. Some say your Higher Self guides the pendulum, others say that spirits do. Some say the pendulum itself has a consciousness! Other people attribute its movements to the ideomotor effect. Many skeptics will try to discredit it this way. My personal response? So what if it uses the effect? We all know your subconscious is wayyy smarter than your conscious, so you probably know the answer to your question deep in your gut, somewhere and just need to bring it to the surface. This idea only increases the validity of pendulum divination, in my eyes.

Tips:
-You don’t need a fancy crystal pendulum. Any weighted object on a string will do! This includes necklaces, keys on lanyards, a needle and thread, you get the idea.
-Pendulums are best used indoors in areas without drafts. These air movements could interfere with your reading!
-I find it better to weigh my yes/no questions as a positive affirmation. For example, “Jenny likes me.” The yes/no response here would be very clear, where as “Jenny doesn’t like me” raises questions. Is a “No” because the statement is incorrect, or no because she doesn’t like you? Affirmations also give you the added help of gut feeling. If you say, “Jenny likes me,” and your gut feeling makes it feel like a lie, that’s important information. (Remember your subconscious is smart!)
- If your pendulum is acting weird, try giving it a good cleanse! Sometimes they pick up “gunk” from extended use and get bogged down.
-Pendulums are very useful for contacting spirits! If you hold your pendulum still and call for a spirit, they can signal their presence by moving it. I prefer this over tarot because tarot always guarantees a response, whether a spirit is there or not. Pendulum, meanwhile, is better for confirming your answers are genuine.

What measure is a non-humanoid?

I’ve written before about how omnics are treated in-universe, and without meaning to Blizzard brought up a good question, which is the difference between humanoid omnics like Zenyatta and the Shambali monks and the decidedly more alien omnics like those affiliated with Null Sector.

On one hand we have the human-omnic audience during Mondatta’s speech about unity, all omnics which have some semblance of a face.

Whenever the focus is on the omnics’ fight for their rights, they’re at the forefront, the sympathetic metal-humans who just want to live their lives.
Compare them to Null Sector.

No faces, different legs, non-human proportions. They’re the evil ones, the extremists, the terrorists who’d rather blow all King’s Row to hell than enter in a civilised dialogue about their rights.

They hold several humans hostage but they also have Mondatta, who you’d think should be on their side if not approving of their methods. But to them he and the mayor of London are one and the same. What did Mondatta do to earn their ire?
Why aren’t there non-humanoid omnics in the audience at his speech? Why is the first time we see a significant non-humanoid omnic presence when they’re threatening to blow up the city?

Just curious...

💗30 Days of Self Love 💗

This is a 30 day challenge meant to help people improve their self-esteem and learn to love and appreciate themselves a little bit more! You can start this challenge whenever you want, completing each day in the order listed or in whatever order you prefer. If any day is too uncomfortable to complete you can feel free to skip it and come back to it later or just skip it entirely.

If you choose to do this challenge please tag your posts with #30DaySelfLoveChallenge or #30 Day Self Love Challenge so everyone else who is doing it can view all the responses!

💗 Day 01: On a scale from 1-10 (with 1 being “horrible, can’t possibly be any worse” and 10 being “wonderful, can’t possibly be any better”), how would you rate your self-esteem right now? Why would you rate it that way?

💗 Day 02: List out at least 5 accomplishments or achievements you’ve made that you are proud of. These can be small or large, recent or made further back.

💗 Day 03: List out at least 5 non-physical things you like about yourself. These can be personality traits, talents, things you’ve done for other people, etc.

💗 Day 04: List out at least 5 physical things you like about yourself.

💗 Day 05: People are often kinder to others than they are to themselves, so imagine yourself from the perspective of a loved one. If you were your own best friend, what would your outside impression of yourself be?

💗 Day 06: Think of how old you were when you first started struggling with your self-esteem and write a letter of encouragement to your younger self.

💗 Day 07: List out at least 5 compliments people have given you. These can be compliments from people IRL or online and they can be about anything.

💗 Day 08: List out at least 5 good things that have happened recently. These can be things that have happened to you or to someone else or even just good stories you’ve heard in the news.

💗 Day 09: When your emotions get to be too much, what are some healthy things you can do to ground you and help you calm down? List out as many as you can think of.

💗 Day 10: Imagine you have a loved one who is on a long voyage (to sea, outer space, wherever) and misses you desperately. What would they write in a letter to you? What would they miss about you? Write a love letter to yourself.

💗 Day 11: List out at least 5 quotes that inspire you or make you feel happy.

💗 Day 12: List out at least 5 songs that make you happy when you listen to them.

💗 Day 13: Imagine the perfect day. What does it look like for you? Describe the weather, where you’re at, what you’re doing, who (if anyone) you’re with, and how it all makes you feel.

💗 Day 14: Many people have a problem with comparing themselves negatively to others. Take a moment to truly acknowledge the progress you have made in life without comparing that progress to anyone else. How have you become a better person? What hobbies do you have that you’ve improved at? What other areas of your life (no matter how small) have you gotten better in? List out as many examples as you can think of.

💗 Day 15: Being positive towards others can often help people be positive about themselves, so take some time and send anonymous positive messages to at least 10 people. These can be compliments or just a “hope you have a good day!”, to people you follow or just random people in tags you track. Look at how these people react to your messages and describe how it makes you feel.

💗 Day 16: List out at least 5 fictional characters you admire or connect with and describe what it is you admire about them.

💗 Day 17: What is your favorite positive interest or hobby? Describe how you first got into it and what you like about it.

💗 Day 18: List out at least 5 “I will ___” statements that you can apply to your day-to-day life in order to be more positive (example: I will believe people when they compliment me, I will ignore the voice in my head that tells me to doubt myself, etc.).

💗 Day 19: List out at least 5 coping statements. Coping statements are statements you use in order to feel better about yourself/your current state (example: I’m going to be okay, My feelings are difficult but I can handle them, I will survive this situation, etc).

💗 Day 20: Go outside. Use all your senses to observe your environment and identify things around you that you like, that make you feel calm or happy. Describe what those things are, what you see/hear/feel/smell that makes you feel calm or happy.

💗 Day 21: Everyone makes mistakes. What defines people is not that they have made mistakes but that they have learned from them and made an effort to do better in the future. List out at least 1 mistake you have made (using however much or little detail as you feel comfortable with) and describe how you have learned from it and grown as a person after making it.

💗 Day 22: List out at least 5 good deeds you have done for other people. These can be small things or large ones and can be as simple as something nice you’ve done for/said to someone rather than an actual favor.

💗 Day 23: List out at least 5 things that make you laugh. These can be jokes, movies, youtube videos or anything else.

💗 Day 24: What are you insecure about? Divide these things into two lists: things you can change and things you can’t. Now imagine that someone else has made this list. What advice or words of support would you give them about their insecurities?

💗 Day 25: What bad habits do you have? Make a list of them sorted by the ones you think will be easiest to break to the hardest. Beside of each bad habit write out things you can do in order to improve on them or ideas for more positive things you can do as alternatives to whatever the bad habit is.

💗 Day 26: What good habits do you have? What things do you already do that are positive and healthy and how did you come to start doing them? What advice would you give to people who struggle with those things?

💗 Day 27: Imagine your ideal self, focusing mostly on non-physical traits. How would this person feel about themself? What kind of person are they? What kind of friend are they to the people they care about? How is this ideal self different from you as you are now? List out things you can do in order to be more like them.

💗 Day 28: List out at least 5 short-term goals (things you want to do this week/this month/this year) and at least 5 long-term goals (things you want to do in the next 5+ years).

💗 Day 29: List out at least 5 reasons to stay alive.

💗 Day 30: Now that the challenge is over, rate your self-esteem again. On a scale from 1 to 10 (with 1 being “horrible, can’t possibly be any worse” and 10 being “wonderful, can’t possibly be any better”), where is your self-esteem at now? Why would you rate it that way? List out the things you have learned about yourself from doing this challenge and how you can continue to improve your self-esteem from here on out.

🌷 豁然开朗 (huò rán kāi lǎng)
豁然开朗 (huò rán kāi lǎng) has two meanings which are linked. The first meaning is the refreshing and liberating feeling you get when you see a beautiful, open area. Typically, immediately before this moment, the beautiful area is not visible and you might be feeling a little stuffy. Second, it’s also used for the feeling you get when you achieve an “aha” or “eureka!” moment. Here’s an example: “大学时期,乔尼开始有机会用Mac做设计,那是一种豁然开朗的体验“   “dàxué shíqí, qiáoní kāishǐ yǒujīhuì yòng Mac zuò shèjì, nàshì yīzhǒng huòránkāilǎng de tǐyàn”   “During college, Jony began to have opportunities to use a Mac to design, and that was a refreshing, eye-opening experience”

🌷  理所当然 (lǐ suǒ dāng rán)
理所当然 sounds like “to go without saying” or “as a matter of course,” but literally means that “according to reason, it should be the case.” Here’s an example: “Some things which are obvious or natural in the course of a marriage…”   “。。。在婚姻中的一些~的事。。。”   “。。。zài hūnyīn zhōng de yīxiē ~de shì 。。。”

🌷  全力以赴 (quán lì yǐ fù)
全力以赴 basically means to give it your all (literally “exert all your strength”) for a goal. It has a positive tone, and is somewhat formal but can still be used in everyday speech. It’s important to note that 全力以赴 is typically used for actions that haven’t finished yet, rather than actions that have already been completed. Here’s an example: “无论考生的笔试成绩如何,都要全力以赴准备面试”   “wúlùn kǎoshēng de bǐshì chéngjì rúhé ,dōuyào quánlìyǐfù zhǔnbèi miànshì”   “No matter how the student’s written test score is, he/she needs to give 100% to prepare for the interview”

不可思议 means that something is noteworthy or amazing in an unexpected way. It can be used for things which are really amazing (eg. magic or larger phenomena) but also for unexpected, everyday occurrences. For example: “真是不可思议,我的名字跟你一样!”   “zhēn shi bù kĕ sī yì wŏ de míng zi gēn nĭ yī yàng”   “It’s incredible, I have the same name as you!”

anonymous asked:

Do you have any advice for someone whose really tight on money? I have a part time job but it's not enough and I have bills. It's becoming a lot to handle.

Hey darling 💕 I sympathize with your current situation; you’re definitely not alone. Money stresses are unfortunately not uncommon, and heavily impacts both our mental and physical health. It’s important to concentrate on self care and positivity through this time.

  • Avoid negative thinking. I know I always say this but it’s crucial. When times are tough, it’s easy to get carried away with the negative voice inside our head. Instead of focusing on the bad or putting ourselves down, try to concentrate on the positive. For example; be extra proud of all the hard work you put into your job.
  • Set a budget, or go over it if you already have one. Having an organized spending plan will give you much more control. The three biggest money stressors are: spending more than you make, living paycheck to paycheck, and / or owing money. Face the issue head on and start building your plan.
  • Reach out to a trusted family member or close friend that you can vent to and share your honest feelings. Being able to talk openly about your troubles will help reduce stress, and they may be able to give you some helpful tips.
  • Know that seeking medical help is another good option. Having that support from a professional can help tremendously. I don’t mean to cause stress, but I think it’s important to be aware of the possibilities and the reality of being affected by stress. Anxiety disorders and depression are the most common mental illnesses caused by financial troubles. Insomnia, eating disorders, and many more serious physical illnesses are also common. It’s important to reach out when things become overwhelming.
  • Start an emergency fund. Keep a jar or an envelope in a safe place and start putting away small amounts when you can. Every penny counts, and having that extra bit saved allows you to be proud of yourself, have an extra option when money gets tight, or even when you want to reward yourself for all of your hard work.

Heres a few tips to save money where you are now:

  • Shop smart. Use any coupons you can for groceries and sign up for email newsletters because they usually contain sales and secret deals. Free reward programs are another amazing way to earn and save grocery money!
  • Save on your energy bill. Get used to turning off lights, unplugging appliances, turning off the tv when you’re not using it, etc. Being more conscious of your water usage is another good one.
  • Plan your meals ahead of time and try to cook at home when you can. Don’t be afraid to do some research for inexpensive but tasty meals.

There are also quite a few ways to make some extra crash but they will cost you time. These are just some ideas that might be useful.

  • Walk your friend’s or neighbour’s dog(s). This is a really fun, quick and underrated way to make money and spend time with a good buddy.
  • Use advertisements on your website with Google Adsense.
  • Consider opening up a free store online or selling to friends and the community. If you have any good quality outgrown, gently used or unused clothing that you rarely wear or don’t want; consider selling them. Old jewelry, furniture, books, and other things just taking up space are good to sell, too.
  • Use your artistic hobbies or take up a new hobby that can pay such as: photography, knitting, baking, cooking, drawing, painting, sewing, woodcraft, writing, digital artistry, calligraphy, jewelry making, papercraft, etc. Freelancing in makeup artistry, hairstyling, nail artistry are other great ways to make money. Even though they are highly competitive jobs, there is a large and constant demand.

Misc. Trivia About Donald Duck and Others in the Comics

-Donald is an excellent cook. Yes, really.
-He lived his childhood days on Grandma Duck’s farm, and learned to cook from her.
-Scrooge loves Donald’s cooking, and waits for any dignified opportunity to visit him to stuff his face for free. Daisy loves his cooking as well.
-On an epic adventure, the triplets will usually follow Scrooge’s orders over Donald’s. In daily life and moral aspects, however, they’ll almost always take Donald’s side.
-Donald will swallow his pride and go back to work for his uncle whenever money runs so short he can no longer buy his nephews toys.
-Ironically, Donald loves fishing - a game of patience. And he’s apparently good at it, too.
-Scrooge McDuck knows better than to mess up when the nephews are in his care. Donald’s temper is something else when they’re involved.
-It’s probably because he’s an adult and all, but in several stories Scrooge is implied to be closer to Donald than to the triplets.
-Scrooge lives alone in a shabby house. He also sleeps over at the bin often.
-Even though Scrooge will find any opportunity to make Donald work for next-to-nothing, he trusts his nephew enough to give him an emergency key into the bin, and Donald is allowed to move anything around as deemed necessary without supervision or permission.
-Scrooge has no problems calling women ugly to their faces.
-Scrooge actually loves it when his nephews visit him in the bin, and wishes they ‘understood’ and loved money as much as he does so that they would have something to bond closely over.
-Scrooge has some photos of the triplets as ducklings stashed away, and he’s very fond of those.
-More than once, Scrooge gave in and handed Magica his genuine No. 1 dime when things looked truly grim.
-In some variations of the comics, Scrooge is implied to be the patriarch, and Grandma Duck the matriarch, both making crucial decisions for the Duck/McDuck family wellbeing.
-Scrooge is an excellent actor.
-Donald and Fethry used to work together for some time at Scrooge’s money bin.
-Fethry is an artist, but not a very good one.
-Sometimes Donald tries to soften Scrooge up by sending Daisy to talk to him.
-Gladstone loves Grandma Duck and is very respectful to her.
-Gladstone once considered the possibility of taking in the triplets if Donald died suddenly.
-Gladstone thinks Donald is genuinely funny.

Alright I’m just going to jump into the Aladdin casting controversy bullshit head on. Since this is Disney making a live action version of their 1992 cartoon adaptation I’m just going to address that and not the original origins of the story. Now, I’m seeing a lot of people saying that the character MUST be Arab because the characters are Arab… and like no they’re not? Disney’s Aladdin is not explicitly Middle Eastern, South Asian, North African, Arab, etc. It’s a racist fusion of the non-white “other” that takes aspects of all these cultures and blends them into one.

Don’t get me wrong. I freaking LOVED Aladdin as a kid, but like let’s be real here this is in no way a positive example of representation. It’s filled with stereotypical, racist tropes that reduce us to savages. Like literally:

“Oh, I come from a land from a faraway place where the caravan camels roam. Where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face It’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home.”

So many people are on here saying that the characters need to be Arab because it’s a Middle Eastern story. Which just blatantly ignores the other influences this film had, not to mention that there’s more groups in the Middle East besides “Arab.” Like somehow the fiction Agrabah is located along the Jordan River, has tigers and monkeys in it, was named inspired by Baghdad, is inspired by the Taj Mahal, includes Arabic architecture, and overall uses Middle Eastern, South Asian, North African influences.

This was by no means an “Arab film,” this was Disney using a bunch of stereotypes and throwing them together because they didn’t care enough to invest in the history and culture of a specific area. Instead they melded SWANA influences together because who cares, we’re basically all the same, right? Unlike movies like Brave where you know where the film is located, the cultural influence, and you see that represented on screen.

Anyway that’s all I have to say on the live action version directed by Guy fucking Ritchie in what’s sure to be totally positive representation.

I think there is something important expressed in their dialogue from the sneak peek.

Daryl: This is gonna be fun.

As we know from their history, Daryl often tries to care for Carol by giving her a moment of amusement to ease her struggles. It seems to me like this is one of those attempts. “This is gonna be fun” is one of those comfort cliches we use to try to convince ourselves and others that things aren’t as bad as it seems. The phrase is amusing when we deploy it ironically - when, indeed, things will be anything but. It’s a kind of “fuck you” to doom - smiling in the face of terror.

Carol: No, it’s not.

The interesting thing, though, is that Carol doesn’t take the out. She decides to keep the moment real by choosing not to take on the joke. To me, this is actually an important point about what their relationship is, especially after “New Best Friends.” In that episode, Daryl tried to mitigate the pain for Carol by telling her everyone was ok, when they weren’t. And then he immediately tried alleviate Carol’s pain further by offering his joke about needing to be a king to get some dinner. In that case, Carol accepted the out and their seriousness gave way to pleasure in each other’s company.

In this case, however, Carol doesn’t shy away from the tension. And she doesn’t allow Daryl to, either. It’s oddly reassuring. Daryl can see that she is now at a point where she is not running, side-stepping, or avoiding what she - and they all - will have to do. No, in fact, it will not be fun. And Carol is in a place again where she can do that.

Daryl: It’s better than lettin’ it be though, right?

Daryl accepts Carol’s choice to not take the joke, and doesn’t try to resolve the tension any more. But look what he does. He now turns to Carol for reassurance. It’s subtle, but also so characteristic of how they relate. He ends up both offering and asking for comfort in the same sentence.

He asks for reassurance of at least two things: 1) reassurance that what Carol has just said is true - that she is ready to accept the burden of fighting and killing for herself and those she loves, and 2) reassurance for himself that he hasn’t forced her into something she can’t do. Personally, I think there’s a third reassurance he’s seeking: that Carol approves of his choices and will support what he has to do, too.

He offers reassurance by letting Carol confirm for herself, to herself, and to him her commitment to this action. He doesn’t tell her how to feel. He asks if she is still sure this is right for them. He’s hoping she’ll say yes, of course. He’s almost sure. But, he always, always let’s Carol make her own decisions.

Carol: Yeah. It is.

And make no mistake, he is comforted when she chooses to show her resolve. It helps him trust himself.

Finish Your Antibiotics

I’m sorry, this isn’t Jojo at all but I think I’ve had it for today. As a pharmacy tech, I’m tired of hearing “Well, I started to feel better so I didn’t finish them.” I always knew this but now as a Molecular and Cellular Biology major, I not only know why but how. If you’re willing to heed my advice from the title, good; be on your way. If you need to know more, keep reading.

It’s widely known–to some extent–that not completing a regiment of antibiotics can result in resistant bacteria, or even super bacteria.

But in an infection, you already have resistant bacteria lurking. Not taking antibiotics doesn’t literally create resistant bacteria. So how, then, do the antibiotics take care of the resistant ones?

A lot of antibiotics aren’t bacterialcidal: They don’t actually kill them. Many inhibit growth by some mechanism depending if the bacteria is gram negative or gram positive. For example, penicillin inhibits growth by disrupting the formation of a peptidoglycan layer on gram positive bacteria. Others target the LPS layer on gram negative ones. This keeps the non resistant bacteria at bay. So what kills the resistant ones? Your immune system. Antibiotics buy time and energy for your immune system to recognize and destroy the resistant strains. Your immune system is intelligent in that sense and can form antibodies for new illnesses. It’s important to give your immune system this time because bacteria grow, mutate, and transfer genetic material at astonishing rates. If you wanted to look at a microcosm of the mechanics that go into evolution, you’ve got it with bacteria.

There are three methods aside from binary fission in which they transfer genes (I won’t get into the minutia of the form of informational material): Transformation, transduction and conjugation.

In transformation, a bacteria can pickup lost genes from a ruptured and dead cell.

Transduction is a way to transfer information via a viral vector.

In conjugation, genes are transferred through something called a pilus: It’s a bridge between two cells that pipes a copy of the information from one cell to another receptive cell and is the only method that doesn’t involve killing either cells. Resistant bacteria like to give around that resistance information like they’re burning a CD for their friends.

So please finish your antibiotics if you’ve been given them. It doesn’t matter if you’ve started to feel better or even great. Finish them.

(Hey science people, If I’ve missed anything or even got something wrong, help me out. There’s obviously lengthy stuff I’ve left out but I think I got the basics).
