poseidon cabin

Percy's Cuddle Therapy
  • Annabeth: *barges into the Poseidon cabin*
  • Percy: Um. Annabeth, It's one in the morning. What are you doing in my cabin?
  • Annabeth: I had a dream.
  • Percy: Let me guess, it was about——
  • Annabeth: About spiders.
  • Percy: I'm not going to get any more sleep tonight, am I?
  • Annabeth: Nope.
  • Percy: Then I shall cuddle you until the sun rises and burns all the spider flesh deep into the earth.
  • Annabeth: I love you.
  • *cuddles*

Hi, have you got any headcannons about the actual cabins at camp halfblood and what they all look like on the inside?

Of course I do. Thanks for asking. Hmm lets see :

  • The Zeus cabin is like its described in the books. Empty with a statue of Zeus but if you look closely Ancient Greek inscriptions (which are faded due to age) are carved into the wall. No one can decipher them because they are too mixed up but when the door is open and the light hits the wall you can see them glowing like sunlit freshly fallen snow.
  • The Hera cabin is pretty much the same. Her ceiling, however, is carved with Peacocks. The Zeus and Hera cabins are the same in all other aspects.
  • The Poseidon cabin, aside from looking like its made out of a rock from the sea is beautiful on the inside. It’s painted in shades of blue and green so it looks like waves are shimmering whenever light pours in from the windows. Some old coral plants are still in the stone so they add bursts of colour and add to the undersea effect. Unknown to many there is a trapdoor leading to a small cavern and a pool of freshwater underneath the cabin. It continues with an underground tunnel to the beach.
  • The Demeter cabin looks like its weaved out of vines. So many layers of plants cover it that you can’t tell that it’s actually made out of brick. The temperatures are self controlled to the needs of the campers so it basically has its own heater and air conditioner of sorts. There aren’t any plants inside (to avoid bugs) but the entire cabin is painted in Earthly colours. Shades of browns and gold. The roof has a special way of harnessing solar light to power the cabin (since its safe energy) despite its lack of solar panels
  • The Ares cabin isn’t the nicest out of all the cabins but it isn’t that body. It looks awful on the outside (and inside) but the beds are compressible. The walls open and close to make cabinets in which campers keep their belongings. It’s basically like Army barracks. (Use less space to fit more stuff). There’s a hidden cabinet in which all the battle/ambush plans that all the campers made are stored. (These came very handy during the two wars).
  • The Athena cabin is practically lined with bookshelves. Pretty much like the library in Beauty and the Beast. The cabin even has several underground floors to accommodate more books. The most important and valuable ones are kept in a magic safe deep underground with charms to protect the elements from harming them. In one of the below floors there’s even a complete strategics room to plan battle attacks. The ceiling is inscribed with Greek letters and words which only the Athena cabin can decipher. It’s a lullaby that, when the campers read before going to sleep, makes them feel Athena is singing it. (This is very comforting to the younger Athena kids). No one knows how but a couple of olive branches grow across the room. The interesting thing is they cross the parts of the walls where realistic owls are painted (so it looks like owls are perched on the branches). The walls are also covered with some hand made posters like “Remember to Eat” or “Time for Bed”. (They are mostly for Annabeth).
  • The Apollo cabin looks like its made of pure gold but its campers have no trouble seeing it. Inside it there are musical notes on the walls and a self playing harp. Different instruments and archery materials are decorated around the place. A Greek healing spell is written all around the cabin which is said to prevent disease and illness from entering. There is a small library of books which the Apollo campers own which are specifically about medical remedies, archery tricks and music. The walls are engraved with poetry by famous poets in Greek (so as to make it easier for the campers to read). A small fountain (which never overflows) is at the very back of the cabin filled with olive oil. The campers use it whenever they have a stuffy nose or get small cuts or scrapes while training.
  • The Artemis cabin isn’t very fancy. The ceiling is enchanted to change its image as the stars and moon change every night. It smells like pine cones inside (and the walls and floor are lined with pine wood too). It is lightly painted with a colour that makes it look as if moon beams are shining across the walls. The carpets are animal skins which the Huntresses bring from their hunts. The quilts on the beds are also made of animal fur.
  • The Hephaestus cabin looks like a workshop on the outside. On the inside its actually not as messy as one might think. There is a place for everything and everything is mostly in place. There is a workshop underneath the cabin for those campers who can’t sleep at night and need to tinker. Most of the beds fold up and unknown to the other cabin campers there are rooms underneath the actual cabin. The rooms consist of decent sized cubicles (sort of like a dorm) in which the campers sleep. The walls (decorated with carvings of fire) shift and behind them layers of tools are hung up. The temperature is maintained internally so the campers are never too hot or too cold.
  • At first sight the Aphrodite cabin looks like a typical doll house with hung up curtains and perfect paint. It actually is a lot more than that. It has (aside from trunks for the campers to keep their things in), a few walk in closets with clothes that are for any occasion. (That’s mostly where the extra clothes for campers without it comes from). Different rooms are present underground in which the Aphrodite campers do whatever they want. (Interior designing and sewing are the most selected options). Besides that lots of books are also on the floors underneath. Some focus on tips for staying healthy and makeup and stuff but 90% of them are for discovering yourself and your inner beauty. The walls are covered in motivational posters about beauty since Aphrodite is not just about physical attractiveness.
  • The Hermes cabin looks like a typical camp cabin from the inside. With wood ceilings and floors. Besides the dozens of beds and mattresses spread out there isn’t room for a lot of things. However, the Hermes campers can open a secret panel and go to separate rooms when they feel too constricted. (There are plenty of pranking items stored underneath the floorboards of the cabin too although only the Hermes campers know it). The little decoration the campers have set up are assorted posters and drawings and crafts. It makes the cabin look the most ‘normal’ out of all of the others.
  • Like the Demeter cabin, the Dionysus cabin is covered in vines. Grape vines and creeper to be exact. The inside is purple. Everything is made of wood with purple and green accents. The carpet is a leopard skin rug. On the shelves are different books on the topic of mental illnesses such as Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia etc. There is also a small fridge behind one of the walls to keep juices of all sorts since the Dionysus kids have an odd craving for fruit juices. (Not necessarily grape).

I hope these are okay. I’m not satisfied but ah well.

I really like the idea of there being panels and trapdoors and underground rooms in the cabins. So I decided to incorporate my idea. I know most of the rooms are underground but come on ? They wouldn’t be up in the sky now would they ?

By the way the thing about olive oil (Apollo cabin HC) is true. If you use it on small scrapes and bruises or bug bites it actually works. It also clears out your nose if its stuffy cuz of colds and stuff. I recommend using it since it gives you a good alternative to medicine which contains chemicals.

I don’t mind doing some for the minor cabins I someone requests them.

(Minor God Cabins)

I feel as if some of the ones I did are redundant. Thoughts ?

Hope you like them anyway.

(1/2) i love lance more than anything but i'm also in love with the percy jackson series and recently i was thinking; unclaimed!lance, stuffed into the hermes cabin, and all alone even with everyone around him. because his friends are out there, having a jolly good time being claimed (Hunk is Hephaestus, Pidge is Demeter, Keith is Ares, Shiro is Ares.) and he's stuffed with Hermes. And he's so sad over it, yknow? because he doesnt know what he is, who he is, and he feels so left out

(2/2) because he sticks out like a sore thumb in the hermes cabin, he’s not all cunning and thieving like they naturally are (hermes is the god of thieves) and it kind of just kills him bc he’s always had a big & close family and all of a sudden he was torn away from them and hauled into this camp and then he finds out he doesnt even know whose kid he is?! (i like to imagine him being claimed as a son of poseidon and finally, finally feeling at peace bc he knows who he is now)

I am weak for Percy Jackson, how did you know Okay so, lets say this is in canon verse for the Percy Jackson series- they had the war and they won and shit- and imagine, Lance, who doesn’t know who he is, who is kinda good at sword fighting but much better at long range archery, who gets a long very well with Will Solace and the Apollo cabin, move into a cabin that is almost always empty.

Yeah, he’s excited to be Percy Jackson’s sibling and all, but holy fuck, is it lonely in the cabin. Percy is at collage now, and Tyson is in Rome with Ella, and the cabin is so lonely and silent and it honestly bothers him. That is until Percy and Tyson find out they have a younger sibling. (In canon, Percy is like 18-19, and in this AU pretty boy, Lance, is like 16, and Tyson is a cyclops their age scales work differently.) And they’re like rushing to camp to meet them. All of the seven do. And of course he hung out with Nico, cause you know, friends with Will Solace, so hes already cool with him, but now he’s friends with all the demigods that are like… cool as shit and strong as shit. And he hangs out with Jason Grace- little known fact about Lance, he has a crush on one Jason Grace, much to Keith’s annoyance.

So he starts hanging out with the seven plus everyone else, and his friends are like, “What” because now Lance is really cool, and being recognized for being really cool, and he has all these new friends, and Hunk doesn’t want to be replaced. Cue a big emotional scene were they talk it out and Hunk is introduced to everyone and Leo is like, “Oh yeah that’s my brother, hes a nerd.” And Pidge takes a little longer too come around to Lance but when she does. Oh boy. Pidge hugs and cuddles Lance to death and won’t let him go because she doesn’t want Lance to forget her like her family had too in the awe of his new friends. Next is actually Shiro, and his is a little less emotional, and they just talk it out about how he wants too be Lance’s friend, always. So… Keith.

Keith, golden boy of the ares cabin, can not deal with the thought of Lance abandoning him for his new friends especially Jason mother fucking Grace. And all of his siblings are like, oh just confess to him you wimp, except Clarisse because she gets hot hard it is to love someone who is in love with another person Selina  so she doesn’t tell him anything, instead, she tells him he should talk too Nico about it- Because lets face it, Nico is great and probably waited around doing that mutual pinning thing for will for like two weeks until they got together (This disregards canon because canon is dumb when it comes to how they got together) and he knows. So Keith goes to Nico, they talk, and Keith tries to confess to Lance. Except he accidentally challenges Jason too a duel instead. And holy chicken fry, Lance ain’t prepared. Like to see his major crush, challenge his minor crush, and have his minor crush accept? (Piper’s laughing her ass off and taking bets.) He is shook. Especially when Keith tells him in the Poseidon cabin that hes fighting for Lance.  So the day of the fight he walks over to Lance and tells him to keep his eyes on him, and Lance does. Keith wins- to everyone’s surprise and since no one won in the betting pool Piper keeps all the winnings and he just, kisses Lance. And Lance kisses back. So now Lance has family, friends, and a boyfriend- BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE

Because Sally is the best mom ever to exist, she invites Lance over, and just smothers him in affection, because his own mom is in Cuba. He cries, she makes cookies, Paul is happy to have another person that they consider a son, and Sally is going to give birth soon, its going to be great.

1069. when a demigod proposes, more often than not, their proposal reflects their godly parent. poseidon’s children tend to propose anywhere near water. the children of aphrodite do amazing, romantic, extravagant proposals that make great stories. the hermes kids usually do something funny that gets lots of views on youtube. the hephaestus bunch likes to make the ring themselves. and the apollo kids? they like serenading their true love at sunset with a song they wrote to pop the question.

SOPHII I NEED YOUR HEADCANONS ABOUT DAUGHTER OF POSEIDON CAUSE I NEED THAT SO BAD plus i wouldn't mind shipping her with apollo you know

I honestly mental block myself from thinking about this a lot because it can just feel weird to talk about a Poseidon kid other than Percyl?? lmao but for you, I’ll dive in (pun intended)

  • she is always always always hanging out with naiads in the waves and getting her hair braided by them and listening to all the good ocean gossip
  • her moods tend to sync up with the tide of whatever water she is near, so when she’s near rivers and waterfalls she gets really anxious but when she’s near ponds and lakes she tends to be more serene
  • notorious for sneaking boxes of sugar cubes out of the big house and to the stables for the pegasi
  • she loves to go sailing! and even gets some help from the Hephaestus cabin in building her own boat
  • for her weapon she originally wants a trident because hell yeah but notices when she has one she feels a lot stronger and a lot more aggressive– after an incident with an exploding toilet she decides to switch to a dagger made down in the cyclops forges
  • her mom met Poseidon while on a research expedition in the Great Barrier Reef
  • her eyes are just like her mother’s– crystal blue like tropical waters
  • she dreams of being a research scientist whose focus is dolphins because they are her favorite animal, and she finds they are the mot fun ocean creatures that exist
Writer!Annabeth Tumblr Drabble

Based on an anon that said @bananannabeth reminded them of Writer!Annabeth.  Hope y’all enjoy it for the not-so-serious work it is ;)

Annabeth cracked her knuckles as her laptop warmed up.  The fan revved as Percy opened the door to the Poseidon cabin and let himself in.

“Hey,” he said with a warm smile.  “Whatcha doing?” He gave her a sideways look for having a computer at camp.

“Oh, I’m just checking my Tumblr.”  She answered like they’d talked about it a thousand times.

“Tumblr? What is that?” He sat next to her in bed and stared at the wall of blue with white blocks of text and pictures scrolling by.

“It’s a website where you can make a blog full of whatever you like – things that you’re interested in, whatever that may be.”

Percy hummed with interest.

“So I’d imagine you had a blog of Architecture, Greek History, that kinda thing?” He guessed, his arm around her.

“Well, I do have a personal blog with that kind of stuff on it…but I also have a blog for my writing.”

Percy looked surprised. He had never known Annabeth to be much of a creative writer.  She could crank out an essay in a few minutes flat.  She could race to the back cover of a book faster than anyone else.  But writing a story?

“What do you write about?” He said at last.

“Well you know that guy, Rick whatever-his-name-is.  The Camp Scribe.  He wrote down the stories of all of our adventures and made like, a million books out of it.”

Percy didn’t know much about it all, as he really had not had much time to ponder it until now.

“I know about that much, yeah.  What about them?”

“Well he published them as young-adult fiction novels.  No one knows it’s real, and mortals absolutely love the story.  There’s a big fanbase for it.”

He looked embarrassed.

“No way… what does that have to do with your writing though?”

“Well, I wrote a story based on that nightmare I had about you and me.”

Percy turned the color of the cotton sheets they were sitting on.

“The one where I… and?”

He didn’t have to finish. She just nodded, clearly not wanting to fully remember it.

“So it really helped me getting over that to write it out so it just became a thing.  Words on paper.  Not this terrible fantasy of my idle mind.  So since people thought that “Percy Jackson” wasn’t real, then people think it’s fanfiction.  Just something a fan of the books wrote.

“Why on earth would someone write a sad story about characters that they like??”

“Been trying to figure that out myself.  No idea so far.”

“Okay, one more thing. If they don’t think I – and therefore you – are real, who do they think you are when you post these stories?”

“Oh that’s easily! I pretend to be our friend Ashlee.  Remember her?”

“Oh yeah! She had been here at camp for a long time.  Didn’t she leave to go live in the mortal world again?”

“Yeah.  Her mortal family is in Australia so she’s back there. She lets me post on this blog when I have something like that and takes care of it the rest of the time.”

“This is weirdly genius.” Percy had a look of surprise and bemusement on his face.

“Glad you think so! I have some blogs lined up if you ever wanna try it…”

With that, Annabeth hopped off the bed with a wink, placing the laptop in Percy’s lap and walking towards the bathroom.  She smirked as she could hear the tapping of keyboard keys and mouse scrolling behind her.

ML/PJO: The Sea and The Sun

Chapter 2—->

So I did the thing I definitely shouldn’t have done. I saw this post by @gittana and things spiraled out of control from there. It’s much too long and still I haven’t finished writing up to the point where my muse has stopped speaking to me.

Also because The Lightning Thief was written in the first person I decided to start writing in in the first person from Marinette’s P.O.V beginning at Chapter 1 however the prologue is still in 3rd person. Bear with me on this.

Prologue

Just a little farther!! I’m almost there! Please please, whoever’s up there, please let me make it! Marinette thought to herself as she dashed up the hillside where a large pine tree signified a place of safety.

“Come here child!” The woman behind her screeched sounding much closer now.

Marinette dared to glance over her shoulder where the creature was fast approaching. The top half of the monster was that of a woman with wild unblinking eyes and razor sharp teeth. The lower half of her body was that of a serpent. Her tail slithered up the hill as her arms propelled her forward in an unnatural way. Marinette’s lungs burned as she pushed herself to run faster up the hill. She swallowed hard, tasting blood. Hands clasped around her ankle sharp nails digging into her skin. Marinette screamed as she was pulled down to the grassy earth and was dragged backwards. Marinette grabbed fistfuls of the soft wet grass in an attempt to slow her pull towards certain death. She was pulled through the grass with fumbling hands searching for anything to catch hold of. A clumsy hand wrapped around a stick. A stick was hardly a weapon but Marinette was grateful for anything at this point. I’m going to go down fighting with a stick! This is so embarrassing, Marinette thought to herself tightening her hold on the only thing she had to protect herself. Clawed hands ripped as her back. She could feel hot breath blow against her neck. Now was her chance. Marinette whimpered as she turned beneath the monster’s grasp to come face to face with it. The serpentine woman smiled wickedly at the young girl showing all her pointy teeth.

“I’m sure you taste as sweet as you look child,” The monster cooed her breath smelling metallic, like blood. Marinette’s stomach churned uneasily.

The woman opened her mouth inhumanly wide preparing to take a bite of Marinette. With shaking hands Marinette swiftly plunged the stick into one of the woman’s unblinking eyes. The woman shrieked in pain releasing Marinette from her grasp. Marinette scrambled to her feet charging towards the hill. The monster quickly recovered, leaping towards Marinette. Marinette dove to the side barely missing the woman’s claws. The monster turned to face her with her one good eye, the other was missing leaving a bloodied black hole behind. Marinette grimaced as the creature hissed. She began to slowly back up towards the tree while keeping her eyes trained on the woman. The monster flicked her tail out knocking Marinette to the ground and letting the woman slither on top of her once move. Marinette struggled beneath her pushing her face away with her hands and trying her best not to let the nails burying themselves into the flesh of her arms bother her. In the scramble to avoid the creatures teeth and keep from losing a hand one of Marinette’s thumbs found it’s way to the creatures lone eye. Without any other weapon in her arsenal Marinette began to press against the eye’s slick surface with as much force as she could muster. The creature yowled in pain her head reeling back but where she went Marinette followed pressing harder into the woman’s eye. The creature’s claws raked down her arms. Marinette stifled a scream as she kept pressing down. Her stomach lurched when she finally heard that sickening pop. The woman’s body stilled a smile spreading across her features looking strangely out of place as she slumped to the ground with a contented sigh. Breathing heavy Marinette, hands slick with- well she didn’t really want to think about that- staggered up the hill. As her feet drug themselves past the borders of the pine tree Marinette fell to her knees a lump forming in her throat. Finally! After all this time she was safe. Marinette breathed a sigh of relief tears filing her eyes as she heard the startled shouts of campers. Safe. Exhaustion swept through her. Without the threat of death hanging over her head she could finally let herself rest. Slumping against the soft bed of grass beneath her she let the darkness overtake her.
