‘Don’t try this at home’.

In the process of making a map of my mind!

This is the right hand side. Everything is in place as it would be on the brain top-down. I’ve drawn routes to show how they’re connected.

The left hand side will be linear and perpendicular like american cities.

Can’t wait to show you the final product!

All fields of design overlap, and I think it’s very important for every designer to look afar from their own field.

I find fashion design to be of influence in my own graphic and photographic practice.

Rick Owens, my personal favourite fashion designer, creates structural, architectural clothing. Funnel collars, strong drapes and atypical shapes are all recurring themes in his collections.

More often than not, such unusual fashion restricts the wearer, putting form over function. Owens’ jackets are different:

Isn’t it more chic to be free? Every jacket I make has interior pockets big enough to store a book and a sandwich and a passport.” - Rick Owens

Owens is currently exploring the possibilities of furniture design. Observe how his strong lines that exist in his clothing continue into his furniture.
