pompous imperial

And the madman himself? He’s fascinating. Arrogant, imperious, pompous. He’s not safe, I know that much. I’m not going to be bored and I doubt we’re going to be arguing about whose turn it is to pay the gas bill or what we’re going to watch on the telly. And yeah, he is probably most likely definitely mad. But, he knows a couple of nice restaurants so he’s not all bad.

My new friend

So, last night I went to look at the flat. It’s pretty decent actually. Sherlock had already moved in so it was a bit of a mess but that ’s actually a nice change from where I was before and the company is nice.

And the man himself? He’s fascinating. Arrogant, imperious, pompous. He’s not safe, I know that much. I’m not going to be bored and I doubt we’re going to be arguing about whose turn it is to pay the gas bill or what we’re going to watch on the telly. And yeah, he is probably most likely definitely mad. But, he’s captivating and witty and charming and I feel like Alice, falling down the rabbit hole, about to jump into Wonderland.

So anyway, we had a quick look at the flat and chatted to the landlady, who asked us if we’d be needing two bedrooms - what does she know that I don’t? Then the police came and asked Sherlock to look at a body so we went along to a crime scene, then we chased through the streets of London after a killer and Sherlock brilliantly solved the serial suicides/murder thing.

Sherlock asked me to dinner when we were done and how could I possibly refuse? We went to this great Chinese restaurant where my fortune cookie said ‘There is nothing new under the sun. It has all been done before.’ After the night I had I beg to differ.

So here I am, about to start my new life with Sherlock Holmes, the consulting detective. Wish me luck.

into the abyss, only for you, my darling (an Emerald City fanfic)

Author’s note:

Rating: T+ (maybe M-)

Mentions of torture. Mild. Violence. Mild?

Possible spoilers. Saw a picture of one of the Emerald City characters chained. Wanted to hypothesis on a possible rescue by Dorothy.

Self edited. I bet that I may have missed something and so if you have any writing tips, examples…and if you enjoyed this little fanfic of mine, please let me know! It would make my day!

Breathe. Just breathe. Dorothy thinks as she creeps down the long corridors lit by flaming torches, the light creating flickering wavering shadows–a spooky combination, especially with where she’s headed. Or where she’s hopes she’s heading. She feels lost. The corridors branch off into each other, a tangled sophisticated mess of paintings, statues of fat pompous men staring imperiously out into the shadows… god only knows what they are looking at.

She needs to get into the dungeons. That’s where they will have him. Lucas. Seems like everyone wants to take a chunk of flesh out of him for alleged crimes because of an alleged job in the Wizard’s guard that he can’t even remember. Its almost like the poor guy has a ‘damsel in distress’ bumper sticker attached to his forehead. Seems like someone’s always out to get him. Which is overwhelming.

Really overwhelming. Every time she turns around, paying attention to someone else, something else, the scenery… whatever it is…and then when she turns back around, someone is busy poisoning, punching, kicking, stabbing, kidnapping, torturing Lucas while trying to kill her off as a side bonus.

It has been a really long week.

A crazy week.

this is what i call canon
  • “I think he might be mad. He was certainly arrogant and really quite rude and he looks about 12 and he’s clearly a bit public school and, yes, I definitely think he might be mad but he was also strangely likeable. He was charming.”
  • “He’s fascinating. Arrogant, imperious, pompous. He’s not safe, I know that much.”
  • “It’s no use trying to hide what you are because Sherlock sees right through everyone and everything in seconds. What’s incredible, though, is how spectacularly ignorant he is about some things.”
  • “Did I mention he’s clever?”
  • “I could see the look in Sherlock’s eyes - a flash of, not anger, but hurt. For a second, he looked like a little, lost child. I should have been horrified that he’d even doubt me for a second but, to be honest, it was so refreshingly human of him. He actually did value our friendship. He did, despite himself, care.”
  • “Not sure my life with Sherlock is compatible with long-term relationships.”
  • “Sometimes he’s so cut off from everything, so cold, so lacking in emotion that when he does feel something… well I think it’s the one thing on this planet he’ll never quite get.”
  • “He admitted that as well as fear, the worst thing he’d felt was doubt. He’d never doubted himself before and he simply couldn’t understand how he’d seen what he’d seen.”
  • “He is only human, after all.”
  • “He was my best friend and I’ll always believe in him.”
  • “But I’ve been told that I should talk about it. That if I don’t talk about it I’ll be how I was pre-Sherlock. And I can’t go back to that.”
  • “He had an odd sort of justice. For all that he claimed to be cold and uncaring, he had his own sense of right and wrong.”
  • “But I’d forgotten just how funny he could be. He was so charming. So… human. It’s bizarre because most people would say he was the most inhuman person they’d ever met. But he wasn’t. He was everything a good person should be.”
  • “He came back to life only for us to nearly die. Again. It’s all life or death with him. Nothing in-between.”
  • “But then the whole kidnapping/bonfire thing happened. And he saved my life, of course. And I went to say thanks and… I was hooked. He’s like a drug.”
  • “It’s all good. Better than good. It’s bloody brilliant. #sherlocklives means #johnwatsonlives.”
