Alfa Romeo Alfasud, 1971. One of Giugiaro’s early hits, the Alfasud was built at a new factory at Pomigliano d'Arco in southern Italy, hence the car’s name, Alfa Sud (Alfa South). It was Alfa’s first front-wheel-drive car and was powered by a horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine. It was one of Alfa Romeo’s most successful cars with a production run that lasted until 1983
