political mistakes

Biden facts:

  • First marriage had to overcome fiancees parent’s unhappiness with their daughter marrying a Roman Catholic (which they did)
  • His wife and baby daughter died, and both sons were injured in a crash just weeks after he was elected senator - an election in which he was the underdog, and his campaign was mostly managed by his family with little funding (1972)
  • Wanted to resign in order to care for his sons
  • For his boys’ sake he commuted an hour and a half each morning and evening to Washington DC  so he could see them everyday
  • Hosted barbecues and christmas dinner annually for Amtrak crews
  • Amtrak crews would sometimes hold the last train for a few minutes so he could catch it
  • Never works on December 18th, the day his wife and daughter died
  • after his first election as U.S. senator for Delaware he was re-elected 6 times - usually with around 60% of the vote
  • May 1999 he set the mark for the youngest senator to cast 10,000 votes
  • Ranked as one of the least wealthy members of the senate
  • Was banned in 2008 from receiving Holy Communion by the bishop of his original hometown, Scranton, because of his support for abortion rights
  • Was caught on microphone telling Obama that signing the ACA was “a big fucking deal” during live broadcasts
  • Obama’s daughter Sasha and Biden’s granddaughter Maisy attended the same school together, which helped form the obama-biden friendship
  • Biden’s friendships on the senate floor were often instrumental in passing major legislation
  • In 2015 he reduced his schedule to spend more time with his son Beau, who was fighting and later died from brain cancer
  • One of only 4 recipients from the last 4 presidents to receive the presidential medal of freedom with distinction
  • Dr Jill Biden, his wife, is one of only 2 second ladies to continue her day job - teaching at Northern Virginia Community College - and is founder of the Biden Breast Health Initiative (an effort to raise awareness of breast cancer with young women in Delaware)
  • just a fucking decent dude

Bruce Wayne Imagine

Requested: “can you do an imagine where bruce gets jealous?”

Bruce gets Jealous when you’re talking to another man. Ft Jason (Bruce POV)

He huffed in the corner of the ball room, his mind on no particular conversation that was buzzing around him, but rather on you. You stood there, laughing and smiling whilst sipping your wine, content in the conversation you were having with that man.

Bruce watched on silently, only thinking about how he was making  you laugh and smile.

But he could make you laugh without even trying like he was.

But he could make you smile with a simple caress of your hand.

But he could-

“Well i’ll be damned, Bruce Wayne you are jealous.”

Bruce spun around in a flash, and jumped at Jason’s sudden presence.

“What are you doing here?” Bruce asked in a noticeable stutter.

Jason sighed and placed his hand on Bruce’s shoulder,  “Bruce, you drove me here.”

Bruce stood staring at Jason.

“Oh.” Is all Bruce could muster up.

“I think jealously is messing with your head.”

“I’m not jealous.”

“Yes you are.”

“No i’m not.”

“Then what do you think of the guy kissing (y/n) right now?”

“Wh-?!” Bruce spun around in a beat, his heart racing; only to be disappointed. You weren’t kissing anyone, merely talking to the same man.

Behind him, Bruce could hear Jason laugh.

Turning around he was met with a Jason who was holding his stomach in a fit of amusement.

“Jesus Christ Bruce.”

“I’m not jealous.” Bruce tried to convince Jason. He took at swig of his scotch, wanting every last drop of the substance.

“Why weren’t you that attentive when i was about to fall off the kitchen counter.”

“Because i know you’d make it.”

Jason scoffed, “Tell that to my broken arm.”

Bruce’s attention was back on you, and for some reason, he couldn’t take it away. Every time you laughed, or the man went to touch your arm, his stomach squeezed into a ball.

“Look,” Jason placed a hand on his shoulder, and looked over to watch you. “(y/n) wouldn’t do anything, you know that, i know that, heck, even Damian knows that and he’s the stupidest of them all.”

“Hey.” Damian said, as he walked past.

“Where did you come from?” Jason whispered to himself as he watched Damian walk away, “…anyways, Bruce,” Jason continued, “Just go over. You’ve got nothing to lose. She’s your girl after all.”

And with a muster of courage, Bruce began to stride over with a wave of confidence.

The man placed his hand on your arm, and you laughed awkwardly, trying to undo his touch.

“So, do you wanna’ get outta’ here?” The man said.

You then felt the familiar touch of Bruce, as his hand slid behind your waist and to the small of your back.

“Unfortunately, later duties call. We must be off.” Bruce said with a smile. The man caught his tongue in his throat, and watched, with an awkward stance, the two of you leave. He nodded and watched as Bruce led you away towards a watching Jason.

“Jeez, why do they always mistake being polite and nice with wanting to get in their pants?” You ranted.

Bruce smiled softly,

“You okay?”

You hugged his arm, “Even better now.”

It wasn’t long until you reached Jason, who had a cheeky smirk playing on his lips as he blurted out;

“Did you know that Bruce has the ability to conjure up such emotions as jeal-?!?“ Bruce put a hand to Jason’s mouth quickly, and smiled at you,

“I think it’s time to go.” Bruce stated, “Bye Jason.”

You looked around confused, but followed as Bruce led you outside. But before Bruce left, he lent back, and whispered in Jason’s ear, “Don’t make me re-break that arm.”

Jason smirked,

“Try me old man.”

And then Bruce chuckled, with a warm and grateful heart.

“Thank’s Jason.”

Jason stood straight and smiled kindly, “You’re welcome Bats.”

-Hoped you like it!xox

Things that are annoying, passive aggressive, and/or rude [and which you shouldn’t do, but I see a lot on tumblr]:

  • Sending someone the same ask more than twice
  • Demanding/pestering someone to either answer your asks or answer asks in general
  • Assuming that everyone is free at all times [People have lives outside of the internet.]
  • Thinking you are entitled to an answer
  • Certain language like ‘when are you actually going to -’ ‘when are you going to -’ ‘you can’t do -’ when being used in an accusatory/pestering manner
  • Excusing rudeness with excitement [Evaluate how you behave when ‘excited’. You should never act rude when you’re happy/excited about something. That’s no excuse.]
  • Getting impatient with a content creator that they’re not making enough stuff for you. Doesn’t matter how much you love it, content creators have jobs and lives [and many of them are not doing what they do for you]. If you want them to make more stuff, help support them, maybe they can make the content creation their job, thus pushing out more stuff.
  • Getting angry when your ask isn’t answered and coming to the person about it
  • Assuming that silence is permission [this will get you in a lot of trouble. Silence is not consent. Do not do this.]
  • Acting entitled to content/demanding a creator make more/faster content [This is a pretty quick way to demoralize a content creator, so cut it out.]
  • Acting like you deserve something/like people owe you something for being nice/a decent human being [This is the nice-guy syndrome. It applies to anyone, not just dudes]
  • Arguing with content creators about their own content. There’s constructive criticism, and then there’s straight up telling the artist/author that they’re wrong, you’re right. Don’t do that.
  • Badmouthing someone because they get annoyed/call you out on the above behavior, instead of evaluating yourself to see if you really should change how you act in some areas.

If you’ve done these or are doing these and you feel like you’re being scolded, just. Stop doing them. Simple as that, we have no issue anymore.

retail etiquette

alternatively titled, “how to be a decent human being to people who are suffering enough as it is to help your supposedly entitled ass”

1. get off your cell phone.
      - cashiers ( not to mention the people patiently waiting in line ) don’t need to hear about how little Kelsey’s doing on the soccer team, or how your mother-in-law is coming into town for her birthday and you’re just SO INCONVENIENCED by having to purchase paper plates and cheap napkins before her arrival.  just tell them you’ll call them back when you’re done.
      - if you can’t be assed to think about other people, at least acknowledge the cashier with a smile or a wave.  if they speak to you or ask you a question, don’t shush them.  tell your BFF Tanisha to hold on for what might be a total of four seconds.

2.  when an item doesn’t immediately scan, please say anything but “oh, it must be free!”  please, dear god, anything but that.  you’re not being funny.  or clever.  or original.  they hear this at least ten times a day.

3.  the number of items listed on the express lane is not a suggestion.  if you know that you have more items, don’t go there.  it’s that simple.  the express lanes have to be kept open for people who have small orders, so they’re not stuck behind someone with a cart piled high with what’s maybe a week’s worth of food and clothes you’ll inevitably be returning.

4.  while unloading your cart, put the big items ( i.e., packages of toilet paper, crates of water bottles ) last.  there’s very little room for the cashiers to work with.  when you’re done unloading your cart, pull it up to the loading space and start putting the bags and other items into your cart instead of standing there and staring off into space or fiddling with your phone.

5.  when you ask a cashier a store-related question ( i.e., how many coupons are allowed per order, whether or not you’re getting the right BOGO deal, etc. ), and they answer you politely and confidently, don’t challenge them.  they work there.  you don’t.  they know the way the store works.  you don’t.  if they’ve forgotten something or made a mistake, by all means, ask them about it – but do it politely.  we all make mistakes.

6.  do not – i repeat, do not – put your money down on the counter or conveyor belt, especially if the cashier is visibly ready to take it.  hand it over to them.  if you need to count out some change, tell them so they can wait.  oh, and if they’ve already cashed you out, don’t hand over some random amount of change after the drawer’s open.

7.  if your card’s declined, it’s not their fault.  don’t ask them why it wasn’t accepted.  they don’t know.  and don’t get angry or impatient with them, or insist you have money because you just deposited a check – they do not care.  they cannot help you with problems that are clearly on your end.

8.  do not yell at a cashier.  once again, for the people in the back:  do not yell at a cashier, especially someone who’s clearly new to the job.  would you appreciate being yelled at for something beyond your control, or a simple, fixable mistake?  no.  so don’t do it to them.

9.  if you get an answer you don’t like from a cashier and ask to speak to a manager, guess what?  you’re most likely gonna get the same answer from them.  here’s a news flash: the customer is not always right, the company will not always pander to your temper tantrums, and making a scene in front of a line of people with quickly-diminishing patience will not change their minds.

10.  overall, please just be polite.  these people are working their asses off to help their customers, most of which don’t appreciate their efforts at all.  they’re constantly ignored, mistreated, questioned and degraded, and over time, it really does a number on their emotional state.  just be kind and courteous.  they’re human beings, not mindless drones.  smiles and nice conversations go a long way.

if anyone else has anything to add, feel free.  floor associates, back room / production workers – go crazy.  share your woes and pet peeves.

Aries Mercury: When you keep finding yourself interrupting others. You really aren’t a rude person! Just enthusiastic about your message.

Taurus Mercury: When you miss a good comeback or witticism because you take your time with communication and decisions.

Gemini Mercury: When you can’t find the right words for how you feel or when your emotional expression just doesn’t come out right.

Cancer Mercury: When people think you are standoffish or hiding something, but seriously you’re not! You might just be quiet or chillin.

Leo Mercury: When others think you are too insensitive, loud, or intimidating. You’re just being real/being you!

Virgo Mercury: When others beat around the bush and you just want the facts! Or people ask how you feel and you don’t want to talk about it.

Libra Mercury: When others mistake your politeness for something more or you always end up being too nice.

Scorpio Mercury: When someone is being nice or getting to know you and you can’t help but be suspicious of their intentions.

Sagittarius Mercury: When you accidentally misled someone again due to your own excitement or jumped into a decision too quickly.

Capricorn Mercury: When people think you don’t listen, you just believe in straight answers! Why waste time on small talk?

Aquarius Mercury: When someone misunderstands you AGAIN! Your messages don’t always align with the group.

Pisces Mercury: When you are too vague with a message again or totally forgot something important to share/say.

There is a really uncomfortable sense in which mental and emotional health are understood as very different from other kinds of health precisely through the specificity of the lens of psychiatry, which is pseudoscientific and which does not need to follow the guidelines of good science which most other sciences have to follow. There is something very crucial about the sense in which the patient fundamentally gives up the right to personhood and agency with diagnosis- this is why we need to be careful about how we talk about medication. Yes, some people find it helpful, some people find it necessary and this is all fine. But for one thing we do not know WHY medications are necessary because the chemical imbalance theory is hogwash for all we know which was never ever founded well in science, we do not know HOW many medications function, and for another we are encouraged not to ask either of these questions because they might lead us down socially and politically dangerous paths- perhaps a whole generation didn’t just magically develop massive rates of anxiety due to defective chemicals and perhaps something deeply sinister and pervasive is plaguing them, perhaps black radical dissenters have real politics and not just delusions. To shut off all critical thinking and accept a fallacy many psychiatrist themselves recognize as just that (fallacy and old science) is a foolish political mistake that has an effect on real people.

The extent to which psychiatry removes agency from the patient is absurd. For instance, my grandfather died of cancer. He chose in his last few years to remain unmedicated. This was probably not a smart choice- he was a stubborn old man who didn’t want to be bothered being poked, even though he did at first have some slim chance of beating the cancer. But there was never, ever any question that he had the right to refuse chemo that eventually ripped his body apart and cut his weight in half and didn’t beat the cancer anyway. There was never, ever any question of whether doctors ought to tie him down, medicate him, and then have him sign paperwork agreeing to remaim medicated under threat of medical incarceration. Human beings, adults with their own desires and politics and wants and needs, do not owe stability to anybody- if their problems make life too difficult for the people around them then those people are free to go, especially when mental illness symptoms cause someone to behave in ways that are just mean. But no adult human being deserves the kind of treatment that is standard for patients whom doctors have decided will rely on them for the rest of their lives. And we should, we MUST, be critical of any narrative which holds that some people just naturally need to be completely stripped of their agency and right to make medical decisions. I get that this makes people uncomfortable- some people will absolutely hurt themselves unmedicated, will be worse off unmedicated, will possibly die unmedicated and these are not good or comfortable things. But the idea of forcibly medicating people ought to make you uncomfortable too. Otherwise we have lost our empathy with and, in a sense, our understanding of mentally ill people as human beings.

let’s talk about asian people.

earlier this evening i tweeted a bunch of stuff about the diversity of asian races. that was sparked off when the trend of white people calling themselves asian because they have “chinky eyes” just floated into my mind while i was in a bad mood. those tweets weren’t quite coherent and i did make a few mistakes so let’s start over. im gonna try and use people i know from pop culture and stuff as examples so yall can understand it in this post so saddle up boys and girls and everybody in between, we’re gonna learn about asian people.

east asia consists of countries such as china, taiwan, japan, korea, hongkong, macau, as well as mongolia. east asian people are the ones typically (badly) represented in western media these days.

this is arden cho. she is korean.

this is lucy liu. she is chinese, and her parents were from different parts of china.

this is yoko ono, and she is japanese.

but wait, it doesn’t stop there. there are also many indigenous civilisations in china (particularly closer to the north), as well as taiwan. some of the descendants of these civilisations have dispersed around east asia in places such as hongkong.

west asia largely overlaps with what we call the middle east, and consists of more countries than east asia including israel, saudi arabia, iran, palestine, turkey and much much more. im sure you’re familiar with at least some of these countries.

i couldnt find any famous people from west asia (see, representation is important guys!!!) but y’know suleiman of the ottoman empire? yeah he was born in turkey if im not wrong and he’s west asian. pretty cool stuff.

**edit i was informed on a popular iranian actress, thanks mereditheo!

this is nasim pedrad and she’s iranian!

central asia is basically the the five republics of the soviet union ie kazakhstan, kyrgyzstan, tajikistan, turkmenistan, and uzbekistan. from what i’ve read though, central asia used to be largely populated by iranians a long time ago. also, some people consider parts of mongolia to be a part of central asia, but there’s no solid yes/no on that so yeah.

central asia is populated by people of a pretty big variety of skin tones and features and many of these ethnic groups do “look white”. whether or not they are actually considered to be white, im not entire sure. someone correct me if they know!

this is rita volk and she is from uzbekistan.

south asia consists of countries such as india, pakistan, nepal, sri lanka, bangladesh and many more, and also includes territories from china (like tibet) and afghanistan. the south asians that we see the most of in western media are indians (or rather, lazy stereotypes of them). there are so many different groups of indian people who speak different languages and have very different cultures btw.

like central asia, south asia has a pretty dang big range of races.

this is tina desai and she is indian.

this is dichen lachman. her mother is tibetan, and her father is german. she was born in nepal.

north asia is basically russia. russia is big and scary and a lot of its politics are being watched by the world + i think we generally know a little on russia. im no expert on it though, so feel free to add onto my post if you deem necessary.

southeast asia ah yes my home (im singaporean chinese!). southeast asia consists of malaysia, singapore, philippines, indonesia, vietnam, laos, cambodia, thailand, myanmar, and brunei (i hope i didnt miss anyone out). many of these countries also have a pretty high chinese and indian populations. i don’t really know how to explain southeast asia because so many of the people these countries have mixed around tbh but i’ll try.

vietnam, laos, cambodia, thailand, myanmar all lie on the same piece of land. their writing and language systems are similar in some ways and many of them are buddhist. many of these countries are developing pretty fast so watch out, world. again, not a lot of representation in western media so yeah.

malays are native to malaysia, singapore, indonesia, and brunei. they mostly speak different variations of malay. it should be noted that while malays are native to singapore, malays are now considered a minority race here along with indians. the largest population in singapore is the chinese one.

this is michelle yeoh, she is malaysian chinese (race is chinese, born and raised in malaysia)

the philippines is an interesting place, it’s quite different from the rest of southeast asia and doesnt really fit in with any particular group on countries in terms of language of ethnicity. their main language is tagalog and they were once colonised by spain.

this is manny pacquiao and he’s filipino,

this is bob morley and he’s half filipino and yes i know i already have manny but i just like bob too okay

SO YEAH asia and asian races and cultures are really fucking diverse and im kinda mad that im not knowledgable enough to go in-depth on every single culture and ethnicity tbh but if you still think asians are just chink eyes and yellow skin after this post then you’re a racist piece of shit.

feel free to correct me or add on to this post if i made any mistakes and i apologise for the vague-ness on some of the regions. i’ve written more about cultures i’ve lived with/experienced/known friends from those cultures plus like i said im no expert and i didnt want to overstep or make any assumptions so it’d be awesome if anyone who’s more knowledgable than i am added on to this post! anyway if you read this whole thing that’s hecka rad and i hope you learnt something!

Guys, amidst all this hate and fascism can we all take a moment to remember that this year, the first year of Trump’s regime, we are finally getting a movie of our most iconic female superhero, Wonder Woman, who will be played by a Jewish woman and then next year we’ll be getting Black Panther with a virtually all black cast and director?

The superheroes we deserve.

the astrological elements, quadruplicities, and polarities are all forms of categorization for the twelve signs. by grouping the members of the zodiac into specified divisions, it makes it easier to study and understand each sign. (written by lauren, matteastrology)

the twelve signs are divided into four groups, matching the four natural elements: fire, earth, air, and water. each element includes a triplicity of compatible signs, with each element adding a certain degree of harmony to the zodiac.

  • f i r e (aries, leo, sagittarius) - the fire signs are enthusiastic, blunt, impulsive, ingenuous, and primary. they attack situations with passion, enthusiasm, and vigor. however, the signs of this element have a tendency to act with violence, lack of diplomacy, and aggression. with this in mind, the fire signs are known to act negatively without thinking things through.
  • e a r t h (taurus, virgo, capricorn) - the earth signs are gifted with an empirical, pragmatic mind, and are known for their (surprise!) down to earth personalities. they provide stability and persistence to the zodiac. often times, these signs are seen as stoic and cold, but put forth a sense of resilience that no other element delivers. however, one should beware of their ever-present state of calm, for the earth signs are known for their explosive outbursts of rage if their anger is subdued for too long.
  • a i r (gemini, libra, aquarius) - the air signs are well known for their talkative, curious, nature. although these signs are so full of ideas, they are not palpable. because of this, they find it hard to act on their often wonderful ideas, and abandon many things mid-project. they have a bubbling mind, and are interested in many things life has to offer, but find it hard to keep their focus directed towards any one thing. the air signs are superficial, but also astute.
  • w a t e r (cancer, scorpio, pisces) - the water signs are ruled by their feelings. they are intuitive, unforthcoming, and in tune with their emotions, but often live in a dream like state, which puts a translucent wall between them and reality. in addition, these signs hold traits of the lazy, susceptible, and hesitant. the water folk display themselves as kindhearted and empathetic, but when they feel danger is near, they can easily transform into unruly, cunning, and unpredictable people.

additionally, the signs of the zodiac are also split up into three separate groups, each holding four signs (hence the name quadruplicity). these groups are known as the cardinal, fixed, and mutable sectors. (note: they are also sometimes referred to as modes. ex: cardinal mode)

  • c a r d i n a l (aries, cancer, libra, capricorn) - these signs are creative, and their minds are often compared to an engine. aries asserts themselves by using their physical strength and high energy levels. cancer progresses through life using their caution as a shield. libra puts their charm to use in order to gain the trust of others and coax them into situations that turn out beneficial for the scales. capricorn behaves in a cautious, sneaky manner, asserting their power when people become accustomed to them acting as a wallflower.
  • f i x e d (taurus, leo, scorpio, aquarius) - the fixed signs are creatures of habit. they are stubborn, unyielding, and not too keen on change. despite this, they demonstrate great persistence and determination, and always finish what they start. taurus are materialistic folk, finding great comfort in their possessions. leo takes great pride in their enthusiasm and passion, making it clear to all that no one can take that from them. scorpio resides in their emotions, finding solace in the control they have over their mind. aquarius holds stiff opinions, and their uniqueness is often seen as contradictory when compared to their narrow mind.
  • m u t a b l e (gemini, virgo, sagittarius, pisces) - this group of signs is volatile and easily adaptable, but they lack a certain degree of depth. while being extremely versatile and open-minded people, it is often mistaken for instability. gemini is superficial and talkative, but while connections come easy to them, they find it hard to keep themselves in that deep of a relationship. virgo is quick to change their mind, but is always looking for new ways to improve themselves. sagittarius is enthusiastic in all that they do, and craves discoveries, as well as new adventures. pisces is difficult to follow, for their inner life is complex as they can change from pure ecstasy to a deep form of sadness in just an hour. however, they find themselves forgiving and forgetting rather easily.

lastly, the signs are grouped up into polarities. these are two sectors, splitting the masculine/active signs and the feminine/passive signs.

  • m a s c u l i n e / a c t i v e (aries, gemini, leo, libra, sagittarius, aquarius) - extroverted, communicative people who find it easy to express themselves and hold energetic traits.
  • f e m i n i n e / p a s s i v e (taurus, cancer, virgo, scorpio, capricorn, pisces) - more on the introverted, calm, comforting side. these signs find peace within keeping to themselves.

It’s a revolution, not a war;

London, in the early 1900′s. Lady Morgana Pendragon is the highly controversial daughter of the Conservative leader The Rt Hon. Sir Uther Pendragon, MP. It has been widely speculated by the tabloids that the Lady Morgana is secretly funding the suffragettes movement. It would seem where the Lady Morgana would go she would attract attention from her bold fashion reflecting her general demeanour to her choice of “companion” with the young Miss Guinevere Leodegrance, a once servant to the Pendragons, now with the help of the Lady Morgana a sensation in London’s affluent music scene.

On the other side of the Spectrum the working class are rising in the form of the Labour party, the leader is rumoured to be the opposition’s own wayward son, The Rt Hon. Arthur Pendragon, MP. who gave up his titles after his rebellion. Mister Pendragon is often criticised for the position due to his privileged upbringing, most publicly by a certain reporter by the name of Mister Merlin Emrys. Mister Emrys is The Guardian’s most favoured reporter, whose wish with the help of his undercover colleague Miss Mithian Nemeth it is to expose the Lady Morgana’s affair with Miss Guinevere, in the hope to use the scandal to bring upon an uprising against the Aristocracy for a modern Britain.

One cheeseburger no cheese coming up

When I was a teen and worked at McD’s (usually on grill) there was this girl that would absolutely fly off the handle over anything/nothing all the time. She was tiny, about 16, and probably thought she was a hot-shit princess. I’ll call her Ship. She didn’t just yell and swear, either; she would actually throw things, punch equipment, go into other stations and knock stuff down, etc. It was crazy. I hated working with Ship and Ship HATED me because I constantly pushed her buttons and made her fly off the handle, especially when the owner was around. How? Pointing out her mistakes, politely asking her what an order she entered meant, or just looking at her silently. Seriously. It was almost fun.

One day Ship was in window 2 of the drive through handing out the food. Window one entered “cheeseburger-no cheese.” This is a ‘grill’ order meaning it prints a little slip and you put that slip on the wrapper to show its custom ordered. Now, I know Ship isn’t going to grab anything without that little sticker, and she isn’t smart enough to think about what the order is for.

I smiled and grabbed a hamburger wrapper and made a hamburger and put it up, leaving the little receipt dangling from the machine next to my head as if I hadn’t noticed. Ship is watching me as I make the next order, and the next, muttering to herself, arms crossed, feet tapping, and I can see the pressure building. She’s making little noises, stalking away, coming back as the food pile builds.

Finally she snaps. She stalked over, got inches from my face, and screaming says “WHERES MY CHEESEBURGER!”

I feign innocence. I direct her to the screen (I cleared that order several orders ago of course) and ask what she means. She grabs the receipt and shoves it in my face, triumphant. “THIS CHEESEBURGER! MAKE THIS!!”

Without taking the receipt, I ask what it is. “CHEESEBURGER NO CHEESE!”

“Oh… well what do you call a cheeseburger no cheese?”

She just stared at me dumbly, so I walked over, picked up the hamburger, and showed it to her. She got so angry she punched the backup grill printer off the top of the counter onto the floor (where it broke) and pushed over some other stuff in the grill. I told the owner that night, he pulled the tape, verified she was the one that broke his back up grill printer, and fired her.

Man I hope she’s in jail.

Edit: People keep asking why order a cheeseburger no cheese? My guess is that the person didn’t order that, they ordered a hamburger happy meal and the cashier didn’t know there was a separate button. There also might have been some kind of sale for cheeseburgers or this was the 2 cheeseburger meal, although I’m pretty sure it was only one burger in question. This was 1998-99. I don’t remember the menu and register well enough to know for sure why the cashier did it. I don’t even remember the girls real name!

i don’t post much about politics here but there’s a small trend on twitter about how “the Mexican president is so handsome, in your face Tr*mp”

and I’m just like… y’all can please stop that right now, your ignorance is showing and not a single Mexican person who knows what’s up will feel flattered about your appreciation for the president.

Peña Nieto is as much of a disgustingly ignorant, incompetent corrupt piece of conservative scum as Tr*mp is. When asked about three books that had influenced him he was unable to mention any apart from the Bible (he quoted another book but got the author wrong). He’s an illiterate imbecile who’s been caught embarrassing himself multiple times by things such as not knowing the name of the city where he’s giving a speech, forgetting the name of the anti-corruption organism or not knowing what the minimum wage is. His stupidity is so notorious there are multiple compilations in Youtube of his fuck-ups.  It’s also been uncovered that about one third of his graduation thesis was plagiarized. Alarmingly, he doesn’t even know why his previous wife died.

His coming into power is as questionable as can be. He had the obvious support of the major national TV networks, and there were massive, well-documented instances of electoral fraud, from manipulation of the electoral institute to downright buying votes.

He’s literally a puppet controlled by the old guard of PRI politicians, who used his “handsome” face and his sensationalistic marriage to a telenovela actress as a main selling point during his campaign (on which they dillapidated money like it was a sport, his government’s expenses on publicity are off the charts) so they could take over the country and continue filling their pockets at the expense of the Mexican people. They’ve cut down funding on public health, science and education to increase their own salaries every year. They’ve allowed foreign corporations to plunder our natural resources (including a very lucrative reopening of the oil extraction market that just recently passed) in exchange of quick and lofty paychecks. When a member of his cabinet is exposed for corruption or incompetence, he just shuffles them around, always making sure his close friends stay in positions of power.

Peña Nieto’s wife, Angélica Rivera, was found to own a property now labeled as the Casa Blanca (White House), valued in 7 million dollars at the time, with no explanation of where the money to buy it came from. The house was suspiciously connected to a construction company that had just received a billionaire concession to work on building train tracks over the country, a deal that conveniently went under when the house scandal was uncovered. No one involved was accused of any crime and no investigation was ever held, while Carmen Aristegui and her team of journalists, who uncovered the mess, were quickly fired and their radio show was taken off the air.

Peña Nieto is also personally responsible for the massacre of the people of Atenco back in 2006 when he was governor of the Estado de México, unleashing federal police brutality on a farmer’s town to strip them of their lands to build a new airport. No one was held accountable for the serious violations of human rights that took place there. General crime in that state has been on the rise since he was governor, notably, halfway through his term, it had become #1 nationwide in feminicide. Like Atenco there have been countless such incidents of brutal opression of which Peña Nieto is responsible, directly or indirectly, all of which have gone unpunished (just last year Tlatlaya and Nochixtlán, off the top of my head).

Remember how everyone complained about the possibility of queerbaiting in Yuri on Ice? Well, in 2016, Peña Nieto promised to pass a Marriage Equality bill nationwide (that would furthere cement the Supreme Court’s ruling on the matter in 2015). This announcement came conveniently close to multiple governor elections as well as an unusual election for a new Constitution for Mexico City. Right after the election passed, the proposal was scrapped. How’s that for queerbaiting?

So no, American friends, you’re not being cool or “allies” by complimenting Peña Nieto’s “good looks” (and if you saw him under all the photoshop, you’d know those so-called good looks are nothing but production). Peña Nieto’s government is in a severe crisis due to the catastrophic tanking of the Mexican peso in the past year which “forced” the political class to increase gas prices by over 25% to preserve their own privileges. He has the lowest approval rate of any president in Mexican History (12% last I checked?). Trump’s defiance is giving him a platform to improve his image and portray himself as a national hero, which he isn’t.

Remember how y’all been saying #NotMyPresident for the past few months? Well, that’s been us for the last four years. So don’t support Peña Nieto. Support Mexico, support latino immigrants, support our culture and our people, not our government. Because if there’s one person that’s as dedicated to the ruin of our country and our people for their personal gain as Donalt Tr*mp is, that is definitely Enrique Peña Nieto and the putrid corruption that he represents.

So I’ve read the manifestoes for the English parties because when I vote, I vote based on who I agree with the most. I find it easier to then compare party policies side-by-side. I figured other people might do this too so I’ve stuck together my notes for anyone else who’ll find it useful. On that note, I haven’t included the SNP policies because I cannot vote SNP and therefore can’t justify spending my time reading their manifesto. But if you can vote SNP I encourage you to take that time! Honestly, I love Nicola Sturgeon and I wish she could be prime minister and defend UK politics as passionately as she defends Scottish politics. In the mean time I’ll just pray for her to adopt me.

My aim here is to be unbiased and these are the points that are helping me form my own political opinion. Just to be clear – the statements are summarised from each party’s manifesto and I am not intending to persuade anyone to vote a certain way, but rather to people to be informed when they vote.

Read on if you plan on voting with your principles, not if you want to vote tactically. There are good spreadsheets going around to vote tactically (although I urge you to check the statistics yourself and not let yourself be played). This post is not a tactic. I can’t bring myself to vote tactically – I want to be able to look back on my vote in years to come and be honest with myself when I say ‘I voted for what I thought was best’.
Hit me up for discussion and please let me know if you find mistakes!!
