That’s right. THIS GUY LADY DRAWS POKEMON IN THE STYLE OF ANCIENT MAYAN GLYPHS. Lots more at the Design Taxi page. (I only reblogged the ones I recognise.)

Follow him her at Monarobot.tumblr.com and maybe donate to his her Patreon page here.

UPDATE: Yeah, I misgendered the artist! Should’ve known better, but I was following the Designtaxi page. :(

Oh, and according to @svartedal, those dots and lines are the Pokédex numbers, written as Mayan numerals. :)

So here’s a new WIP of a project I’ve quickly started as practice towards my secret figure I’m making. This is based on monarobot’s Pokemayan designs ( http://monarobot.tumblr.com/archive ), specifically the Abra (and its evolutions) that I commissioned her for.
It’s a fun challenge trying to translate the abstract qualities of Mesoamerican style designs into a 3D piece. This is, once again, very rough and the photo is bad. I’m not too sorry for that since it’s a sneak peak anyway. I have a sufficient lighting set up for when these projects are ready to be photographed properly!
