point spreads

rochu-c  asked:

Hi💕💕💕💕 I just started with my Bullet journal, any ideas of what spreads i can do? Other than the normal monthly and weekly logs

Ok I’m really sorry this was supposed to just be a simple list of some pages for a bullet journal and it turned into this

Bujo basics (see more bujo masterposts at the bottom):

Here’s some basic bujo advice that I can’t back up because I’ve never had one:

  1. use pencil first if you’re trying our a new format (and just in general because you never know when you’ll make mistakes).
  2. stick to a limited color palette (preferably lighter colors) if your worried about how it will look.
  3. be realistic about how much you can do; if you’re not a good artist, don’t make the focus point of your spread a huge elaborate drawing.
  4. don’t beat yourself up over mistakes you make. only you have to see your bujo so it’s really not the end of the world if you mess up a bit.

Notebooks:

Just a tip: there are 4 main kinds of notebooks - lined, dotted, gridded, and blank. I only linked dotted notebooks above, but those brands also made other notebooks so they shouldn’t be too hard to find.

  1. lined notebooks are good for when your bujo is writing-heavy (so if it’s also functioning as a journal).
  2. dotted notebooks are probably what you see most often because they’re so versatile. they’re great for both writing and more doodle heavy bujos (but if you have trouble writing in a straight line they probably aren’t for you).
  3. gridded notebooks are great if your a perfectionist because they make it super easy to draw straight lines.
  4. blank notebooks are what you want to use if your bujo will be very art focused.

Pens:

these are just some pens that are popular in the studyblr community, but you can literally use any pen (or pencil) that you want. any pens that you already have in you house are fine, so please don’t go out and buy any of these just for your bujo!

EXTRA: you can check my supplies tag and there should be some swatches like this

More supplies:

here are some stationary websites & brands!

Brands:

if you don’t want to go through all those  links, here are the most popular places to get stationary!

Spreads:

you’ll generally have four types of spreads: daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. people have a combination of the for (daily and monthly; weekly and monthly; weekly, monthly, and yearly).

  • EXTRA: some resolutions that you can track in your daily log

Page ideas (what the ask was really about):

the above is where bullet journals get even more customizable. you can add whatever pages you want to your bujo, usually in front or behind your weekly spreads.

An extra section:

some specifics about what you can add to your bujo if you want it to look great

a post on some shit i’ve seen

“I have a male character, but they’re very feminine so I think they might be a trans woman.”

This is not how being trans works. Being gender non-conforming =/= trans. Here is a list of reasons why this is sexist and transphobic.

  • It implies that men and women must behave a certain way and that anyone who does not adhere to these gender roles must be a different gender.
  • It implies that gender non-conforming trans people do not exist.
  • It negates sex dyshoria.
  • It enforces gender roles.
  • It enforces stereotypes and misconceptions trans people have been fighting against for a long time.

Your male character can be feminine without being trans. They are still a man.

“It’s offensive to describe trans people as being ‘born in the wrong body’.”

No, it’s not.

This is a narrative that many trans people use because it is an easy and succinct way to describe sex dysphoria. Dysphoria is more complicated than this, but this narrative is not offensive.

Stop silencing dysphoric people. Your character can describe themselves like this if they so choose to.

“I have a male character, but I picture him as having little body hair and wide hips, so I think I might make him a trans man–”

This is offensive. If you make a character trans because they posses physical characteristics that are seen as “undesirable” or “not typical” on people of their sex, then you are sexist and transphobic.

Cis men can have wide hips and little body hair. Trans men can have narrow hips and a strong jaw. Cis women can have lots of body hair and a deep voice. Trans women can be short and curvy.

“My character is androgynous and it’s difficult to tell their gender so I’m making them non binary.”

Okay…

  • By claiming that non binary people are always androgynous appearing, you are creating a new set of gender roles and expectations while simultaneously doing everything in the first thing I talked about.
  • “Non binary” and “gender non-conforming” are not synonyms, but this doesn’t mean non binary people can’t be/aren’t gender non-conforming.

“Cis people are boring so my characters are all trans.”

This is the wrong mindset when talking about representation for trans people and when writing trans characters. When you equate “cis” to “boring” and “trans” to “cool” and “interesting,”, you are fetishizing and dehumanizing trans people.

We are not trendy accessories that will make your story better simply by being there.

BTW, boring trans people exist. Because, you know, we’re people and not this year’s most popular Christmas gift.

“Reveal that your character is trans by showing their scars/body.”

Allies and transphobes alike have a fascination with the bodies of trans people. It has gotten to the point where “allies” spread private information about the medical lives of trans people to the general public. This has turned into a “how to spot a trans person” game.

Your characters do not need to be half-naked to show that they are trans.

“Dysphoria is self-loathing and can end up bringing too much angst to your story.”

Dysphoria is not self-loathing. This is a huge misconception. Dysphoria is a disconnect between someone’s brain and their physical sex.

When people experience sex dysphoria, their sex characteristics feel foreign. It is not simply “hating your body.” That narrative should not be used in fiction. Ever. It is false. Body positive feminists (both lib and rad) use it to vilify sex dysphoric people.

Do not ignore dysphoria. A lot of people don’t know what it actually is and confuse it for internalized misogyny. Dysphoria needs to be a part of fiction featuring trans characters so that we can work to end the misconceptions about it.

Also, do not “cure” your character’s dypshoria with love or romance or sex or self-acceptance. That’s not how it works.

not to be an asshole or anything, but fic writers literally spend hours on their works for other people to read and

for those who aren’t familiar with ao3, this means 214 people read it.

out of these 214 people, 23 left kudos, which you don’t need to be registered for, all you do is press a button that’s right where the work ends.

(jsyk, i logged out of ao3 so i could browse as a guest).

you can see the ‘top’ button, the ‘kudos’ button and the ‘comments’ button.

you don’t have to be registered to comment, either, all you need to do is enter a name and your email adress.

as you can see, it’s very, very simple to kudo and comment. which brings us to my point.

it’s shown that there are two comments, but it’s in fact a comment and the author’s reply, because ao3 doesn’t differentiate these two. which means,

out of 214 people who read this work, 23 left a kudo and only 1 commented. that’s 10% and 0,4% respectively.

do you have any idea how disheartening this is for an author? 10% of all the readers let them know they enjoyed the work, and not even 1% give actual feedback.  THIS is why you should always at least leave kudos. THIS is why we’re overjoyed when people comment even shit like ‘wow they bake vegan cookies!’. to have ONE person in a HUNDRED say anything at all, it’s great.

COMMENTS AND KUDOS KEEPS AUTHORS MOTIVATED. THE BUTTONS ARE HERE FOR A REASON. DON’T ACT LIKE CAVEMEN. THANK YOU.

Hey y’all, as you might’ve noticed, this blog has more or less been on a hiatus for a few months (with random bits of activity) due to University Shenanigans. I have been slowly getting back into the swing of things, but I’m still looking to pump out a lot more content in the future now that I have more time.  So, with that being said, I’ve noticed that my dash has been running p dry in terms of ffxiv content so, i’m thinking a following spree is in order!:

Reblog this post if you are a Final Fantasy XIV blog!

Notes:

★    Realistically, I will only be following blogs who post 90% of ffxiv content. I’m cool with            inspiration & aesthetic posts, but other than that, I like to keep my dash as streamlined            as possible.
★    I’m cool with NSFW as long as it’s tagged appropriately!

What DID is and isn't

Dissociative identity disorder (and another catch-all dissociative disorder) are the only disorders that create systems/alters. Personality disorders/psychosis do not create systems/alters. “Multiple personality disorder” is incorrect and many will find it offensive, it’s not used anymore.

PTSD (more specifically, CPTSD) is required for DID. Everyone with DID has experienced repeated severe trauma before the age of about 8. Dissociation is a core component of DID. To be diagnosed with DID, two or more separate personality states (or alters) must periodically front (or be “in control”). These alters are formed through severe trauma and are generally made to protect the body in some way. Some of these alters are child alters, who are stuck in a state of severe childhood trauma- this is never acceptable to make fun of. The majority of people with DID will attempt suicide, largely due to poor education and help for the disorder. People with DID are no more likely to commit crimes than anyone else.

Actually, you have likely met people with DID before and not noticed. Dissociation is the primary symptom, not switching alters, and typically switches are done without great distinction and few signs.

Sybil is not good representation. Split is not good representation. If you have questions about DID, you are welcome to direct them here.

Split is offensive and is capitalizing off of child abuse and resorting to awful, outdated tropes to horrify an audience at the expense of an entire community. This is not okay. Do not support Split.

Your weekly reminder that:

  • Victor Nikiforov’s name is officially spelled with a C as decided by the show’s writers
  • The YOI Wikia is WRONG, they know it and they refuse to correct their mistake, therefore invalidating their role as a source of objective, factual information. If they can’t even get a main character’s name spelled correctly, then none of their information can be considered reliable because who knows what else they changed just because the admins wanted. (ETA: At the very least now they have a note that acknowledges Victor as the canon spelling, but why they insist on keeping the incorrect one is beyond me)
  • If you write it with a K because “that’s more correct in Russian”, I hope you also write Atabek Altyn, Yuriy Plisetsky (or Yuri Plisetski) and Akuseeru, Ruuppu and Ruutsu Nishigoori, because those are more accurate and correct spellings in relation to those characters’ countries of origin, and if you don’t use those spellings, then you don’t care about being “culturally appropriate” and are just being stupid :D

If you spell it with a K for aesthetics… I mean that’s your prerrogative and I’m not gonna bitch at you for it but I’ll also never undestand why

Hello! I didn’t actually expect that many people to request this and I was going to make this anyways soooo… Let’s get to it!

Before we get started to actually making the spread, you first need to answer the following:

  • Do I want to follow a theme?
  • If so, what theme do I want?
  • What are the things that motivate me?
  • Are there certain people that motivate me?
  • Do I want to plan my weekends?

My weekly spread isn’t the same every week and I change some things very often because I feel like it’s necessary to do so but I’m not one to change my over all color scheme very often although there are some studygrams who change theirs every week. It’s hard to keep on changing your theme if you are a studyblr so I suggest to stick to one for a long time. It’s not necessary to have one but it makes it more neat and pleasing in the eyes and makes it look more organized. I don’t know what they’re originally called, but I call them ‘space-fillers’ mainly because they fill up space (duh). To sum it up, these are basically little things you can add to your bujo to make it more handy and useful. (* - my favorites) Some examples are:

  • Weekly Playlist*
  • Sleep Tracker
  • Water Count
  • Thought of The Day (TOTD)*
  • Quote of The Day (QOTD)
  • Daily Mood
  • Weekly Expenses
  • What I Eat in a Day*

I want to make this clear, because I live in the Philippines, I don’t really have access to expensive stationeries that you could always see on tumblr and instagram such as Tombows, Muji pens, Artline Stix, and Mildliners. I know that there are some MUJI branches in Manila but it would mean climbing Mt. Everest, crossing the Han River, and spending your life savings. Not worth it (in my opinion because I’m like 14 who basically depends on her parents). So, learn to use what you have and supplies are just supplies. Expensive stationery don’t equal to immediately having beautiful lettering. I just use the Faber Castel ones but depending on where you live, these might not be available for you. I use it because it’s cheaper and does the job. Although the tips do fray overtime, you’re still getting more than what you paid for. So definitely a must-try.

Before we start. Checklist (* - optional)

  • Bujo
  • Markers
  • Glue
  • Ballpen
  • Ruler
  • Highlighter*
  • Washi Tape*
  • Colored Paper*
  • Photos*
  • Music

(I didn’t list any specific brands because you can always substitute supplies)

Okay and now we can finally start!

The “stop obsessing over this topic” spread:

Draw one card.

The question to ask is:

“When I start thinking about this topic, what can I focus on instead?”

Today I asked this and I got The Empress. Focus on creating, self-care, and self-sovereignty. Heck yeah, that’s a great thing to reflect on every time I end up rehashing a topic that I can’t make any progress on. And it’s something that I can focus on that will help me get away from having to obsess over that topic. Double bonus points.

Cr.

First dates are embarrassing. First dates are awkward. I’ve been through countless ones, sitting across from people who bored the living daylights out of me. It was less exciting than watching paint dry. Some dates were so utterly rude - I think you and I both know what it’s like to be on the receiving end on that. But now we both don’t have to waste our time anymore!

With First Date Bait they went out for me! Afterwards, they informed me if it was recommended to go out on a second date. It’s amazing with a 99.99% accuracy rate! That’s how I ended up meeting my husband!

First Date Bait.
Why waste your time with awkward first dates?

He’s late.

That’s not a good sign.

Nothing makes my blood boil more than the morality police thrust upon Oliver Queen and Barry Allen that compares and judges them by different standards.

They’re different characters with different pasts and backgrounds and completely different personalities. One is like a serious older brother and mentor while the other is the fun younger one who keeps ribbing him. Their relationship in the universe has always been promoted that way.

So why the hell do people constantly compare them? THEY ARE NOT IN THE SAME RACE. Hell, they’re not even in the same field. You may like one and not like the other (and that’s totally okay) but don’t measure them with the same yardstick.

That’s an insult to both their characters and their stories, not just one.

I am against the occupation of Palestine, but sometimes the ways anti-zionist leftists characterize Israel makes it seem like Israel doesn’t have any kind of culture or history and that everything about it is dedicated to imperialism and subjugation with absolutely no other purpose behind it.

For example, while some Israeli politicians and Zionists definitely exploit Israel’s record on LGBT rights to further imperialist ideology against Palestine and Islamophobic rhetoric, I feel like some anti-zionists seem to honestly believe that Israel only has established LGBT rights and acceptance as part of a conspiracy to further its imperialist agenda. Or that its LGBT acceptance is nothing more than a lie told to further their imperialist agenda.

Honestly, I am highly critical of Israel and I want the occupation to end. I consider myself pro-Palestine and believe the Jewish state is built on nationalism, colonialism and racism. But if you truly believe that every single positive thing about Israel is either a lie or part of a conspiracy you’re veering toward antisemitism.

Crowder recently put out a video calling aids a “silent non-killer” and calling the epidemic a hoax to steal research money and kill children. He also said that you’d need to have sex with someone who had aids 10,000 times to catch it, and featured a sketch where a dog thinks it has aids but, silly dog, nobody really gets aids.

Please, please, regardless of what you think politically or whether you think the crisis was a hoax, do not have unprotected sex with someone who has aids! And, if you think there’s ANY iota of a chance whatsoever that you have aids, go to the doctor/clinic and get tested! The doctor isn’t going to laugh at you or say that you’re being silly, they’re going to find out whether you’re infected with a deadly disease or not.

Okay but theories here - (I’m assuming the spotify stuff is for the teaser because if it isnt i may cry)

- They mentioned Rose several times in the teaser, and Rose is one of the last albums left on Spotify?? Even though Noir was the first to go, so you’d think they went by most recent.

- The whole point of Rose was spreading an important message

- Viruses spread things quickly.  all kinds of viruses.

- “If you go back to Rose, the opened data files which are not saved will be lost” so basically if you dont commit to the end, you’ll lose all your progress

- “Enter the exact code name to start the new project”

- Stop: Noir and Rose.  It’s Blue.

B.A.P’s got a message/ a new project, and they’re about to spread it EVERYWHERE

ALSO JUST SAYING BUT NOIR HAD A V FOR VENDETTA REFERENCE AND SO DID ROSE.  SPREADING VIRUSES/ MESSAGES IS ABOUT AS V FOR VENDETTA AS YOU CAN GET

Tony had to wake Bucky up at Noon because him and Bruce had completed his arm. You naturally woke up once you heard the whispering voices.

“What’s going on?” you rasped out, your voice still laced with sleep.

“The Terminator here is getting his new arm. Care to join?” Tony asked you with a hint of a smile on his face.

“Breakfast first, then new arm.” You responded while trying to stumble your way out of the cocoon of blankets you had made.

Bucky just laughed at you and helped steady you on your feet. You gave him an appreciative smile and grabbed his hand, leading him to the kitchen. Tony followed close behind.

Characters- Sam x Reader, Mary
Summary- You can’t leave it alone, so you have to say your piece. All you can do is hope she’ll listen, and that Sam won’t be too upset.
Word Count- 1,620
Warnings- mild cursing? Also kind of calling Mary out a little on her bs about “needing space”.
A/N- This is for Hazel & Dreamer’s 1k/2k ‘Sammy Says’ Writing Challenge! My prompt was “I mean, what if there’s something…not natural?” I’m sorry it’s a little late, ladies but I hope you enjoy!

You know you shouldn’t be here, and yet you are. If Sam knew, you were sure he’d tell you to leave it be. He’d tell you that it ‘doesn’t matter’. Like hell it matters, you think. You knew it mattered to him. To Dean, too. They were your broken little family and if you could do anything to fix it, you would.

That’s why you were in Oregon. Tracking the phone hadn’t been that hard- the tricky part was setting up the meeting in the old diner to look like coincidence. You angled yourself just right, right at the bar where you knew she’d sit and waited. It wasn’t long until she showed, blonde hair curled nicely and clothes not too unlike what you were wearing. You watched her out of the corner of your eye, her eyes tripping over your own figure before she beelined toward you. You act nonchalant, pushing yourself to act natural.
