point of intersection

Palmistry 101

When reading palms, whether your own or someone else’s, these are the main things to consider:

  1. Which hand is dominant? For right-handed people, the left hand gives information about inherited characteristics and potential, while the right hand reveals the development, character, and life events. The opposite is true for left-handed folks!
  2. Quality of lines and their points of intersection. How strong or fine are the lines? Are they straight and long, broken and twisted, etc.?
  3. The directions of lines, which mounts they occur on or near, and their influences.
  4. Shape of the hand, fingers, nails, and mounts.
  5. General demeanor of the person and the hand.

Each line has its own meaning and depicts a certain course of action in a person’s life. Lines come in all shapes and sizes. Not everyone has all six of these lines, although the first three are always present (the fate line is usually present as well).

  • Heart line: emotions, insecurities, marriages, dependence and independence, the nature of your relationships.
  • Head line: intellect, reasoning powers, prospective career paths, potentials for success.
  • Life line: pattern and quality of life, physical vitality, stability or imbalance, will power and logic, not necessarily the indicator for length of your life.
  • Fate/Saturn line: strengths of character, career, friendships, life’s daily problems, and general ability to succeed.
  • Mercury/Health line: health matters, business and adventure, the spirit of discovery.
  • Apollo/Sun line: utilization of creative energies and potentials for success through development of talents.

The mounts are fleshy cushions underneath each of the fingers. These mounts carry the same name as the finger they are under. Below are the different character and personality traits associated with each finger/mount.

  • Mercury: Pinky. buoyancy, shrewdness, wit, spirit.
  • Apollo/Sun: Ring finger. compassion, love of beauty, artistic abilities, potential for success.
  • Saturn/Fate: Middle finger. seriousness, cautiousness, gloom, superstition.
  • Jupiter: Index finger. leadership, honor, ambition, spirituality/religiousness.
  • Lower Mars: Below pinky. moral courage, self-control.
  • Upper Mars: Below thumb. resistance, coolness of spirit, calmness, courage.
  • Venus: Thumb. benevolence, affection, humility, passion.
  • Moon: sentimentaliity, imagination, self-centeredness

These are just a few of the figurative markings that are commonly seen on the hand. They add meaning to the lines or mounts they are near.

  • Branches: emphasize strengths.
  • Breaks in lines: emphasize weaknesses.
  • Chains: signify obscure goals, inclinations to deviate.
  • Crosses: signify upheavals, violence, struggles, and blunders.
  • Islands: indicate delays, injuries, and problems.
  • Stars: emphasize luckiness.

*** I will be posting more about palmistry soon, including more detailed variations of the lines and mounts! In the meantime, feel free to ask me about your palms… sending me a picture would be AMAZING :~)

I see a bunch of posts saying if your asexuality or aromanticism is caused or influenced by trauma or mental illness or neurodiversity or something, it’s still valid.

I see a lot of posts saying asexuality isn’t something that needs to be cured, that a-spec people aren’t broken and don’t need to be fixed. That people are naturally born this way.

I also see a ton of posts telling everyone it’s ok if their labels change, that sexuality is fluid and identifying as something different before or after or now doesn’t invalidate the person’s orientation at any point. That if it’s useful for the person now, they can use it.

But I don’t see a lot of posts, actually basically none, that actually address the point where those things intersect.

If your asexuality or aromanticism is caused or influenced by something, your orientation is valid, and it doesn’t mean you couldn’t have been a-spec without it. Maybe you were born this way, maybe you were made this way, but no matter how you got here, you are still a wonderful valid person.

You are not broken if you do not feel you are.

It is also completely OK for you to feel like you are.

If you feel your orientation is something that is only temporary, because of mental illness or trauma, and you had labels you identified as before and want to identify as them again, you are so valid.

It is ok for you to think something broke and for you to want to repair or mend it. If you have a bowl because the top part of a clay vase broke, it’s ok to want a vase again. Kintsukuroi creates beautiful art out of broken pottery people mended.

It is also so ok for you to feel like some part of you is broken, and to want to let it remain that way. You don’t have to fix it. People make mosaics out of broken glass, and they are far more beautiful than the beer bottles they came from.

It’s also ok to not know how you feel about it. To feel like some days there is nothing wrong with you and other days to feel that part of you is just shattered shards of something else.

No matter what, you are valid and your experiences and feelings about your orientation are valid.

Monge’s Circle Theorem. Draw three circles in the plane and draw the external tangents for each pair. The intersection points of the tangents (red points) will always lie on a straight line.

The five circles theorem

Draw five circles, centered on a common sixth circle and intersecting each other chainwise on the same circle (as shown in blue). Now join the second intersection points (as shown in red), in order to form a generally irregular pentagram. Then the vertices of this pentagram lie precisely on the five circles.

Today, I fucked up... by volunteering for a fundraiser half marathon without knowing the run route

Last Saturday I volunteered to be a worker for a half marathon race fundraiser. After I checked in I was driven to the last water point, at a T intersection about 2 km from the finish, so I was told. But I was told nothing else and I asked no further questions.

Within 15 minutes a pack of very fast runners begin to approach. Their leader yelled to me “Which way?” Well, I had no fucking idea. I could either guess left or right. But, the road they were to turn on was a one-way road. So I directed them in the direction of the one-way, towards downtown. I had a 50-50 chance of directing them in the correct direction. I guessed wrong.

For the next 30 minutes or so I directed runners in the wrong direction until one of the race organizers drove by and caught me in the middle of directing another group downtown. We spent the next hour sending vans downtown finding runners and bringing them back like lost kids at a park.

TL;DR I directed the first 40-60 half-marathoners in a race in the wrong direction (when they were 2km from the finish) causing them to run around aimlessly.

“The lines represent life and all the things around you, but like an asterisk, everything intersects with each other at some point, not only connecting everyone with everything around us, but also a unity with the universe.” - Andrew McMahon, Jack’s Mannequin

You know what confuses me?

Racist people telling me that racism no longer exists and that I should shut up and other bs they tell me (usually by insults instead of an actual argument) but yet cry and scream over that white people experiencing the so called worst racism ever.

Make up your mind when you rage about your thoughts on racism. It very contradictory and irritating when you say bs like this to me and many other people that actually care and respect others.

Jupiter in the 9th house - The Home of the Lucky Hand

“The desire to go home that is a desire to be whole, to know where you are, to be the point of intersection of all the lines drawn through all the stars, to be the constellation-maker and the center of the world, that center called love. To awaken from sleep, to rest from awakening, to tame the animal, to let the soul go wild, to shelter in darkness and blaze with light, to cease to speak and be perfectly understood.”
Rebecca Solnit

The cosmic fortune card is drawn with Jupiter in the ninth. Jupiter is at home in the ninth house and the individual’s life will expand beyond the horizon and into the dwellings of heaven. Philosophical matters are comprehended with broad spectrum frames, and themes of excess can characterise the lifestyle. Flying through invisible gateways and exploring with the higher mind is a domain Jupiter in the ninth feels most ecstatic. And whatever it is, he will want more, be it knowledge, escape, amusement, gambling, god, or adventure. The inner compass will be guided by an exuberant and idealistic wanderlust that can be directed toward finding a sense of meaning. The quest to understand his place in the world leads him far and wide through land and sea, bookshelf and pilgrimage.

The individual with Jupiter in the ninth has a very natural familiarity with spiritual laws. Topics that merge imagination with intellectual, practical application like mythology, astrology, psychology, and theology are dwellings where the individual can spend much of his time. It’s pure magic when he can see symbolism erupt in everyday life. Instances where he can impart, or soak up wisdom bring incredible joy and satisfaction. It may be hard for the individual to settle and change may be his only constant. Jupiter can indicate indulgent and ravenous behaviors, and in the ninth house he the poker machines are dazzling with bells of his name. Maybe he gambles too much, or drinks or spends. Whatever it is that pangs the strings of joy in his heart will be hard to moderate. There could be a deep urgency to move overseas and explore new cultures, societies, language, foods, and ways of living. People are fascinating to Jupiter in the ninth, and the born explorer is all about understanding the different waves of cultural music that play the orchestra of the globe. Education is important, and the person may prolong his studies for as long as possible. University education, and remaining beyond is characteristic of Jupiter in the ninth.

Integrating a wide range of perspectives and beliefs is a focus of life here. The individual seeks a very intimate, and personal relationship with God, one that transcends the ruling of religion or ideology. In his search for a spiritual teacher, a mentor, or a guru, in the divine form or academic form will redirect him on the pathway within. Eventually he learns he is the master of his own reverent temple. Life will present many lucky breaks and opportunities for the individual, it’s like he has been blessed with a golden handshake. His mental and physical experiences are a bonanza of wisdom, fortune, fun, and adventure. In the distance, the individual perceives flashing lights that invite him to sail into the open galaxy so he can taste every spice, read every scripture, and smell every pollen. The free bohemian spirit is rich and relishes when he is drenched in new experiences with interesting people. Jupiter in the ninth is the true cosmic jackpot, and lady luck waits in the airport of the mind promising glorious riches when there is faith in the universe.

We were two, you and I
Parallel lines in motion with time
Changing momentum but never entwined
A linear path through a great divide

In perpendicular affection,
Points lead two hearts intersecting
Constant velocity of our desires
Over time spans, infinite in an instant

Set an angle, slowly we kiss
Tingling lips in a moment of bliss

Meg the demon (for the fandom ask meme)

character: hate them | don’t really care | like them | LOVE them | THEY ARE MY PRECIOUS

ship with:  nobody

friendship them with:  castiel, abaddon (although I’d call that more of an interest in a potential alliance)

general opinions: Meg is such a deliciously complex character. We don’t have much to go on in regards to Meg’s past which is a tragedy; we don’t even have the demon’s proper name. I thought her story arc was fascinating and way too shortlived. My favorite part about her is her philosophy on life: her loyalties were built on a cause rather than ambition (Crowley) or religious zeal (Ruby). She served that cause for the sake of herself and a kind of mental order - that made her so interesting and I think it gave her a great point of intersection with someone like Castiel, who flounders without a cause to serve. I’d have liked her to meet Spike from Buffyverse; I think they’d have a lot to commiserate over nachos about.

Got a character for me?
