Station to Station is an upcoming podcast from the Procyon Podcast Network. It was created by Alex Yun (@stardust-rain), co-written and co-produced with Andrea Klassen (@thischarmingand).

This is a sci-fi mystery/horror about a science project with dark secrets, a biochemist with melancholic tendencies, and the mysterious notes of a lost scientist, set on research cruise many miles away from land. Also featuring: corporate espionage, loss, morality, and close encounters of the eldritch kind.

1) You must be over 18 by the time auditions close (March 1st). No if, no buts. No “but I’m almost 18!!”. This is a Procyon-wide policy that we will not budge on.

2) Upload your audition file. We prefer Dropbox or Google Drive, but any hosting site is fine. Please name your file Character Name [Your Name]. Please also state your name before reading.

3) Fill in this Google Form. (Now closed) Note that we don’t require you to have professional setup to do this - that’s what our Kickstarter is for! Once recording starts, we’ll provide professional mics if you don’t have your own.

If Google is not accessible where you live, you’re also welcome to email us at station2station@procyonpodcasts.com (but only if Google isn’t accessible, please use the Google Form otherwise).

Auditions will run from Feb 15th to March 1st. Callbacks will be from March 4nd to March 10th.

You can audition for more than one role.

This is a paid gig. You’ll be paid $15/hr (or the equivalent in whichever currency you use) for each hour of recording. For now, the rehearsal time will not be paid.

For real though if you don’t listen to My Brother, My Brother, and Me (an advice show for the Modren Era), you have not yet been introduced to the ultimate Unproblematic Faves.

All three brothers:
-are rare examples of straight white male allies to the female, POC, and LGBT+ communities who are Doing It Right and always apologizing/learning from their mistakes if they happen to screw up (which we all do, bc we’re human)
-love their wives and are super proud of them, and frequently criticize the tired “nagging wife/asshole husband” dynamic that is so prevalent
-are always sex-positive and quick to condemn slut-shaming/shaming of any kind when it comes to sexual identity (including the ace community! I remember a specific instance where they were answering a question where a woman’s friend accused her of being “asexual” like it was a personality defect and the brothers were very clear in their response that the asexual community is real and faces a lot of social discrimination)
-have repeatedly denounced the Friend Zone as complete bullshit and are not afraid to let dudes know when they’re toeing that line or being otherwise creepy and inappropriate
-are personal friends of Lin-Manuel Miranda like what else do you want

Individually, Justin (the oldest brother):
-frequently encourages self-care in listeners, from the mundane (learn about new things, eat healthy and exercise, etc) to the less common (this fucking ASMR kick they’ve been on for months now idek)
-is a super cool dad and husband who brags all the time about how smart and awesome his wife (and co-host of Sawbones) is
-most likely to create memorable bit characters (Edward Shnowden, Tiny Amelie, etc)
-is honestly just a ray of sunshine who wants people to get along and not be terrible

Travis (the middlest brother):
-has a Great Beard and some really crazy tattoos
-paints his nails and encourages dudes to get manicures bc they’re relaxing
-co-hosts another show about manners and good etiquette with his wife
-definitely the show’s Butt Monkey but has a good attitude about it
-thank Travis for Travis

Griffin (the sweet baby brother)
-has perfect teeth he suffered to obtain
-threw a rock at a raccoon once
-possibly the most outspoken feminist of the three
-has a really impressive vocabulary
-unironically loves Carly Rae Jepsen and America’s Next Top Model

I could seriously go on for days about how much I love these guys and the podcast empire they’ve created but like… everyone, just please love yourselves and listen to MBMBaM.
**Start around ep. 30 though, not at the beginning. The brothers have said before (and I agree) that the first episodes are definitely not a good first impression. (But you gotta start at 30 to get the beginning of the fursecution arc.)

y’all it’s only been 11 days and I’ve already hit 30k on my novel this year I’m !! so !! excited about it !! it’s trash but it’s MY trash

Unpopular opinion but y’all are too damn picky about indie content, especially podcasts. Not every podcast will be diverse, and that’s okay. Your fave doesn’t have LGBT rep? Oh well, there’s plenty that do! Your fave doesn’t have any canon POC? HCs are always great and there are a lot of podcasts with POC characters you can find. A podcast has great LGBT rep and POC but few female characters? Again, you can find good female characters in a whole slew of podcasts.

My point is that your criteria for a good podcast should not be a checklist of diversity. It should be a good story and good characters (and often the best stories/characters are diverse ones, that’s true). A lot of podcasters create these stories as labors of love. A lot of them aren’t Tumblr Educated™™™ about Perfect Diversity™™™. Most of them don’t make money off of their art.

(Disclaimer: obviously if the creators are being assholes about diversity/representation—i.e. queer baiting— this doesn’t apply. I’m talking about podcasts that are good stories that just don’t happen to have everything you want)

I was a guest on JelloApocalypse’s Tip of the Tongue podcast to talk about creating an audience, building a foundation, staying motivated, and making things that you love.

Here it is! Week 1 of the SJM Podcast which was created by @aelin-and-feyre thank you for letting me be a part of this.

The question was: Best TOG and/or ACOTAR male character in your opinion.

And here are my pieces of evidence:

I’ll tag: @feysandsmut @azrielsiphons @2-bookmaster-2 @cassianandfenrysaremyboyos @cassiancalore @fck-tamlin @lronteeth @readinglikewildfire @sparkleywonderful @rowanismybae @illyrian-high-lord @sugarcoated44 @igniscorde7112

But if you want to just do this then just do it! Just remember to post on a Saturday :)

Much love and many thanks!

The Road To Nowhere

Let’s take a drive down the long road to Nowhere

In the cool mist of dusk with the never ending line of telephone poles as companions

The angels peer down from above the clouds, ever vigilant and silently smiling

And the eldritch mass at the end extends skyward in greeting ready for embrace

Nowhere has been waiting for you to come back home.

Just out of interest- how many of you studyblrs/bookblrs/litblrs would be interested in listening to a podcast created by me discussing books? I was thinking mostly ‘classical literature’ or a podcast with an academic bent but it’d be great to get your feedback lovelies! Like or reblog to tell me!

New Reylo Here!

Hi! I have been lurking for the past few months and have decided to introduce myself to you all! I really enjoy all the fanvids, fics, manips, art, meta and podcast you all create and I am very excited for The Last Jedi.

Shoutout out to @bastila-bae  and  @starwarsnonsense  from Scavenger’s Hoard, @knightsofrant and last but not least @starwarsconnection for their incredible podcast work!

anonymous asked:

have you guys ever considered touring a live show? Because like,,, I'd give you the entirety of my college savings to go to one

Please do not give us the entirety of your college savings. If you don’t go to college, you might miss out on the opportunity to, say, study stories that will inspire you to make a podcast, meet a whole bunch of brilliant actors that you can strong-arm into being in the podcast, and fall in love with a genius writer who will create that podcast with you.

Anyway, we’d love to do a live show (and tour it, goodness knows), but it would take a whole lot of money and time that we don’t currently have. One day, perhaps.

Submissions for Podcast for+by PoC & QPoC

Hey !!! This is Orion, also peachedcheeks, and I wanted to try to start a podcast for those like myself. I’m pan, trans, and I have depression (for like the past 4 years) and other mental disorders, and often I feel hopeless. So, I wanted to create a podcast that combines the experiences of those that have gone through any difficulties and how they’ve gotten through it. I want to make this so that others that are in situations like myself are able to feel more confident in their futures and that they are able to get through trying times.

Here is a link with tons more info with more background, requirements, and recommendations:

and if you have questions or anything, DM me here or send an email to:

I’m hoping to get at least +5 submissions (I’m taking submissions till the end of February).  I’m also really hoping that this will grow and be made into a network for people in need.

There will possibly be a spotlight for stuff like poetry and short stories, spanning 20 minutes each month.

This will be updated weekly, every Wednesday.

Additionally, this is directed to PoC (that are mentally ill, experienced homelessness, are of the LGBTQIA+, disabled, etc.) so if you’re a yt…. .. … … . .…… … . .you should catch my drift ;-)

Thank you for even looking at this ! And thank you to those that have contacted me !!! I want to be able to help people that are going through stuff like what I’m going through and I thought that this would help.

If you’re seeing this post, that means you’ve got a chance at some cool prizes for a raffle!

What’s the raffle for? Well, a number of things; when I first made this blog, I was in one of the roughest spots of my life; it’s through the encouragement and support of friends that I’ve not only had the privilege of pushing myself to improve on my art, and create a podcast, but now I get to make this neat raffle gift pack thing.
700+ followers might not seem like a lot to some people, but for me, it’s a pretty big deal; I don’t know where I’d be without having made this blog, and met all of the wonderful people I have through it.

                  So, seriously… Thank you.

Without further ado, here’s the deets!

I Want to Be Something

In light of Mark’s “I Feel Lost” video, and some of my own gross, conflicting emotions, I guess I should probably talk about them.

Mark, Jack, and Felix have all been consistent members of my life–even if they don’t know who I am. Their voices and faces have become my constant companions throughout every hard day, through every good day, through every single tear I’ve shed and every laugh I’ve had for the last four years. It’s been a long four years. Almost five now. I’ve changed a lot as a person.

Almost five years ago today, I was anorexic and depressed and I wanted to kill myself. I was at the lowest point I’ve ever been in. When I think back on this time period, it’s a bit harrowing because it hurts, knowing that there’s a scared little girl there who wanted to die more than anything. Sometimes I still do but–but I’m better now. Some days, at least.

These boys–Mark, Jack, and Felix–and I do admit, Ethan’s been a large part of this lately as well. They didn’t save my life. They never saved my life. I never wanted to say that they did–because that simply isn’t true. But they reminded me that I was strong enough to save myself, to stitch myself together long enough to save myself. That I didn’t have to be bleeding fingers and shaky hands, I didn’t have to be sad eyes and a starving stomach. I could…be myself, and that didn’t have to be bad.

I’ve been vastly inspired lately. I want to start a YouTube channel. I want to make a game. I want to create a podcast. I want to be published. All of these things I’m terrified of. Sometimes I’m scared I won’t ever see any of these goals–that I’ll never get to properly thank the people who reminded me that I was a person capable of being strong. But maybe someday I will.

I want to do so many things. I want to be someone. I’ve spent so many years of my life trying to be something–but I want to be someone, too. I want to be happy, and I’m getting there.

I make a lot of jokes about dying. I made a lot of jokes when I was 16 about never making it to 18. Now I’m 19 and I’m…getting there. I’m not there yet, and I’m not sure, with this type of thing, I ever will be, but I’m getting there.

Let’s hope for all my 19 years, I make it at least 19 more.

And guys, if you’re reading this–thank you.

The “Golden Ticket”(Some Nakama Power Right Here…)

Going to the Signing was my Fault

Quite a few folks have asked how @squisherific @rieriebee @tea-lief and I all pulled off getting into the Mashima signing at New York Comic Con. I waited until after Con was over to tell this story because I didn’t want a thousand people trying the same thing.

Given that all of the lotteries combined yielded roughly 200 spots for signing, the odds were terrible.

…and not a single one of us got into a signing.

Sad and defeated, we thought we were out of options, but I secretly hatched a plan. I wrote an email to NYCC and Kodansha, and told them a little bit about the four of us….

The email:

Hello to everyone who is making Hiro Mashima’s visit to New York possible next week!

My name is (Doosh), and I have a little story to tell with a humble request as well. Three of my best friends and I are descending on New YorkCity next week specifically because of Mashima-Sensei coming to Comic Con.

You see, Fairy Tail is incredibly special to us, as we have met and bonded over the years through the fandom. This has brought us lifelong friendship through a mutual love for the series. This friendship and series havebrought us all together and provided light through a myriad of personal challenges.

When we all found out Mashima-Sensei was coming to New York, it was a no-brainer that we would attend. We were ecstatic. We are all quite active in the online community (especially Tumblr) with fairly well-known Tumblr pages that have helped contribute to the Western fandom. We’ve done FT podcasts, created art, and run fan appreciation events. Collectively, between the four of us, I can’t even begin to state how much merchandise and manga we have purchased stateside or from Japan. Those girls that bought most of the stack of the last chapter’s magazine at Kino? Those were two of us. (The same ones who clear out volumes or chapters, particularly when Gray and Juvia are involved…my friends.)

As Fairy Tail ended this summer, we even traveled great distances so we could read the end together. Soon, our plan to see and meet the catalyst for bringing us together and bringing us all joy in very tough times. A few of the girls have even created art to present to Sensei in appreciation.

Here’s where the problem comes in. We later found out that the autograph sessions on the day(s) we had tickets were lottery only. One by one, yesterday, we found out that not a single one of us would get a chance to meet Sensei and personally thank him for what he’s done for us. We hold slim hope that the lottery at Kinokinuya will give at least one of us a chance, but our odds aren’t great, I’m sure.

We all purchased tickets for Japan Society on Thursday so we can at least see him speak and will hopefully go to the panel at con, but the chance to meet and thank Sensei alludes us.

I am moving abroad in a month to be a civilian psychologist for the US Military, and this is the last time I am going to be able to see these ladies for several years. All three of them are remarkable women who have been dedicated fans of Mashima’s work for years, but more importantly, they are amazing people. I am heartbroken that these amazing girls who have stood by me through so many personal struggles are not going to be able to meet Sensei in person.

I am humbly asking, if it is possible, to have a chance for an autograph and for the four of us to thank Sensei, even for a few seconds. I can assure you, we are all sane individuals. This will probably be our only chance. We are all going to be at the Japan Society talk Thursday night and NYCC on Friday. Hopefully, we will be at Kinokinuya (we sure are all trying to win, but there are no guarantees).

I’ll donate to a charity of your choice. Heck, I’ll even work an event free to give my friends and I a shot. I know this probably isn’t possible, but I at least wanted to try. I thank you all for reading my rambling, and I look forward to seeing you all in NY next week.

Respectfully (and humbly begging…)

(My real name was here)

The Result:

A super awesome dude from NYCC, Gregg, reached out to me the next day and offered us four “Golden Tickets” which granted us admission to the Friday afternoon signing. Nothing will ever be quite as fun as telling the girls that they would be meeting Mashima…except being able to meet Mashima with these ladies.

So, thanks to the magic of an email, we got our shot. The result: Mashima got his plushies from @squisherific, @tea-lief was able to present gorgeous framed art, @rieriebee was able to request the Gruvia son, and I ended up teaching Mashima what canon was (and finding out, once and for all, that 545 was meant to be considered canon.)

It was a golden experience that I will never, ever forget.
