#396: Kocoum was gay, but deathly afraid of other people finding out. In order to make his family and tribe happy, he was willing to marry Pocahontas, but he wasn’t even remotely happy about it. He lived his days in quiet depression, trying to get through the actions he thought he was supposed to go through. That’s why he was, in Pocahontas’ own words, ‘so serious’.
DisneyyAndMore| asked: Almost There or Just Around the Riverbend? ”I look once more / Just around the riverbend / Beyond the shore / Where the gulls fly free / Don’t know what for / What I dream the day might send / Just around the riverbend / For me / Coming for me”
“"Pocahontas" is my least favorite Disney film from the Renaissance era. Aside from being historically inaccurate, the story is rather bland & boring. Other than that, I like the characters & the whole songs. Plus IMO Kocoum’s screech when he spotted Pocahontas & John Smith kissing is just priceless.”
I have always thought their friendship was one of the best in any Disney movie. Nakoma is a loyal friend and can be pretty sarcastic at times and idk I see myself in her. Nakoma and Pocahontas’ friendship is my favorite pairing in the movie because you can tell they really do love each other.
