Do No Harm – Frank Castle x Reader.

Author’s Note: Thank you for the request, Anon. Though I wouldn’t honestly think of Frank Castle as anything close to cute and fluffy, I think this turned out okay. Thanks to Kaptest.com for providing the practice MCAT questions. I’m considering taking the LSAT, not the MCAT, so I had no idea what was involved (I only got 1 out of the 4 provided questions right… oops). Also pulled a couple of the more technical quotes from the Grey’s Anatomy (the book, not the show). Frank Castle belongs to Marvel…or Netflix… actually I don’t know who he belongs to at the moment but he does not belong to me.

“In an attempt to develop a vaccine for pneumonia, Fred Griffith performed a series of experiments in 1928 using mice and two strains of the pneumococcus bacteria: a virulent encapsulated strain and a nonvirulent unencapsulated strain. The encapsulated strain was called the “smooth strain” because the colonies looked smooth on a culture plate due to their polysaccharide capsules, whereas the unencapsulated strain was denoted as the “rough strain” due to the irregularity of its…”

Somewhere in the middle of the paragraph you felt your brain start crying.

Herb of the Week-Forsythia

Common Names:

•Forsythia

•Lian Qiao

•Weeping Forsythia

Forsythia is a plant. The fruit is used for medicine.  Also known as weeping forsythia, it is a deciduous shrub that grows straight and has curved branches that may often be as long as 10 feet. This plant is also commonly called forsythia. This plant bears ovate, occasionally three lobed leaves whose color may vary from medium to deep green. Its flowers appear in clusters, each containing a maximum of six blooms, during the start of spring. The flowers have a deep, vivid yellow hue. Forsythia is an attractive shrub which blooms very early in the season, with the flowers appearing before the leaves in early spring, and are wonderful for use as cut flowers. The shape of the shrub is akin to that of a fountain and it is often grown as a border plant in the gardens.

The genus Forsythia comprises flowering plants that belong to the Oleaceae or olive family. In all, the family comprises 11 species and, most often than not, they are indigenous to the eastern part of Asia. However, one species is indigenous to the south-eastern region of Europe. The genus has got its name from the Scottish botanist William Forsyth.

Forsythia blooms copiously. Each bloom of the plant is about 2 cm to 5 cm (1 inch to 2 inches) in diameter having a vivid golden yellow hue. Each forsythia flower has four slender petals appearing during March and April. Each cluster contains anything between one and three nodes together with the branch. The leaves are oval shaped with a pointed end and are roughly 5 cm to 10 cm (2 inches to 4 inches) in length. The leaves of this plant are jagged at the border and appear after the flowers are in bloom.

After long and difficult negotiations, MSF was able to procure a supply of expensive pneumococcal vaccine at a reduced price. In 2013, we organized a vaccination campaign in South Sudan to protect Yida’s children against pneumonia and other diseases caused by the pneumococcus bacteria such as meningitis, otitis, and others.

Imagine Steve and Bucky and the gang getting all their vaccines caught up to date. (Bruce is the only one allowed to sit out on vaccine day because the Big Green Guy doesn't like needles and breaks them.)

“These are for chickenpox, diphtheria,  Hib, Hepatitis A and B, this year’s flu, measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough, tetanus, polio,  pneumococcus, and rotavirus.  I expect with your advanced biology, this is an unnecesary precaution, but better safe than sorry.”

“There is a vaccine for everything,” Steve said in awe, looking at the rows of needles spread out before him.  He’s got Bucky’s metal arm in one hand, reassuring his friend that no matter what, nothing bad was going to happen to him.
