These Tights Will Change Your Winter Life

Plush tights. Have you heard of them? I first read about them on Jezebel and honest-to-winter-coldness, they were a life changer for me.

I’m a big baby when it comes to cold weather. I don’t really mind it all that much as long as I can stay warm. And being able to stay warm and still wear dresses and skirts during New England blizzards is a pretty tough thing to do. But alas, there are holiday parties and date nights and girls’ nights out and you just get tired of feeling like you can’t get all dressed up because of the stupid cold weather.

Plush makes fleece-lined tights … Yes, fleece lined. When I first heard this I thought they would be really bulky and have a lumberjack plaid print on the inside. But none of those worries were true!

They are slightly thicker than your average tights but are so much warmer. Like, significantly warmer. I’m not going to lie and say that it feels like you have a space heater keeping your legs warm. If it’s really windy out, you’re going to still feel a slight chill. But the difference between how cold you used to be with your other tights versus Plush’s fleece lined ones, will have you glad you forked out the $30 for them.

And I also wear them under pants during the winter. They’re a great alternative to wearing thermal underwear, which can be bulky.

If you live in the Boston/Cambridge area, the basic black footed and footless Plush tights are sold in The Tannery’s larger Harvard Square location. If you don’t live in the area, Plush’s website will direct you where to find them near you.

I know $30 sounds like a lot to spend on tights, but trust me when I say you won’t regret this purchase.

Thanks to Lauren for inspiring this post. She told me that she tried out leg warmers for the first time recently and said that they were a life changer for her.
