They killed Martin, Malcolm, and Medgar while they were wearing suits. They bombed little black girls in their Sunday best. They had Black bodies swinging in military uniforms. It’s not about how we dress. It’s about centuries of socialization that has taught us that Black is synonymous with criminal, deviant, unruly, un-Godly, and non-human.

The same logic can be applied in discussion on sexual violence towards women. It is not about the types and lengths and fit of clothing women wear or don’t wear. She can be fully clothed and still be subjected to the multiple levels and forms of sexual violence that thrive within patriarchal societies that actively condone and reinforce the notion of women’s bodies as property.  It’s about centuries of socialization that has taught us that woman is less than, weaker than, property of, only needed to please men and reproduce when deemed necessary by men.

Please stop with the respectability politics. Please stop the slut shaming and the victim blaming. Please stop shifting the conversation away for the systems of oppression (and the agents actively working to uphold these systems) that are both external and internal. It is about individual, institutional, and structural forms of discrimination that are both systemic and systematic.

It goes beyond the articles of clothing themselves. It’s about all that we have been taught to associate with the clothing and those wearing the clothing.

It’s time to do some serious work y'all.

existential question here:

Why all the jeyna fics I find are all about Jason apologizing with Reyna for something he didn’t choose or asked? It’s not as if Jason was like ’Hey Hera, I’m bored here, don’t you bother erase my memory and take me to another camp? Oh, and incidentally, if you don’t mind, give me a girlfriend.

Like, come on! No, I also believe that Jason could have waited a bit to decide to be with Piper (as much as I love the relationship of these two) and see what happens with his life in New Rome, but neither I blame him, he did what he thought was right.

Yes, I think he and Reyna owe each other an open heart talk but please stop blame Jason or victimize Reyna.

All this “I Stand by Amber Heard” vs. “I Stand by Johnny Depp” bullshit. Do you know what I STAND BY JUSTICE. in whatever capacity it may be. If Johnny is innocent then he deserves justice; if Amber was abused then she deserves justice. The truth will out eventually.

What I don’t stand for is gas-lighting in the media and disgusting victim blaming on either side. People need to realise that what they know of a celebrity is just what they put forward to the public. Nobody (other than those close to the people in question) knows them for real. So stop trying to say this person is that and that person is this. You don’t know. Don’t jump to conclusions and don’t victim blame.
