hi I’m kelsey.

I’m in a really bad situation at the moment and it’s really hard for me to even write this, I’m not one to usually ask or even open up when help is needed but this is really urgent and apparently this is all I have left.

So my mum was recently diagnosed with a disability called MS which is basically like brain damage and it affects the whole body, she had to leave her job because she’s in so much pain and she was on sick pay for a while which did help but now she’s not getting any money and even the government won’t give her money.

Myths About Betta Fish

I’m sick of the pet industry always fucking animals like the betta over so let’s get some things straight
—————
MYTH: bettas like small spaces, they live in small rice paddies in the wild
REALITY: No they absolutely do not, sure some survive this, but it’s a cruel life to live. Rice paddies are actually quite big although shallow, the average male betta has about 3 feet of its own territory in the wild. Bettas need AT LEAST 2.5 gallons, but a 5-10 g is even better. You can get a 3 g tank from petco for like $10
————–
MYTH: you should feed your betta whenever it is hungry
REALITY: a bettas stomach is the size of its eyeball, it is very easy to overfeed. I feed my betta 3 pellets twice a day, but lots of people feed at different times with different food so I suggest doing some research and deciding what works best for you.
————–
MYTH: bettas are lazy
REALITY: bettas are inactive in small tanks because they’re aware that they have no space to swim and will hit walls, in larger tanks bettas are very active
————–
MYTH: bettas can only be kept alone
REALITY: it is true that male betta fish cannot be kept with any other betta, but (depending on the bettas personality) bettas can be kept with fish that are smaller and drab looking that won’t bite your bettas tail. I keep my betta with 2 snails and 5 ghost shrimp and he rarely bothers them. Female bettas can be kept in groups of 5 which is called a sorority. Keep in mind that these options are only possible in large tanks with lots of hiding spots.
————–
MYTH: bettas will eat live plants so you don’t have to feed them if you have plants in the tank
REALITY: bettas are CARNIVORES. They won’t eat plants, they will eat blood worms and brine shrimp which you can buy frozen. In fact feeding real prey is good along with pellets or flakes.
————–
MYTH: bettas don’t need filtration or heat
REALITY: they need both. As far as filtration goes, strong currents don’t mix well with bettas so a sponge filter is best.
————–
MYTH: bettas only live a couple months anyway, why should I be doing all this?
REALITY: with proper care, bettas can live 5 years.
————–
MYTH: bettas and all other fish are dumb
REALITY: bettas are actually very smart and trainable. Mine was taught to jump out of the water on command and come when called (by wiggling fingers). Some people have taught bettas harder tricks such as going through a hoop. They can even learn when meal time is and be ready for it.
————–
MYTH: My child will take care of the betta
REALITY: your child will lose interest within a week, YOU will be taking care of their fish. If you’re not okay with that don’t buy your kid a fish.
————–
MYTH: I should completely change the tank each time I clean it
REALITY: you should instead do frequent partial water changes of about 40% of the water
—————
MYTH: bettas are throw away pets
REALITY: there is no such thing as a throw away pet and if you think there is you shouldn’t own pets

Please always read care sheets before buying a pet because -newsflash- PET STORES LIE.

I had always hoped I’d never have to do this. But because my 18th birthday arrives in less than two months, the U.S. government is closing my case.

My name is Jesse Singh. I was born in Salem, Oregon to Dawna LaLonde and Preet Singh in 1997, and lived there until late 2000. I haven’t seen my father since I was three and have been trying to find him since I was about 10 years old. My search has been futile thus far and I am becoming more and more hopeless, so I have finally decided to come to the internet for help with the hopes that maybe social media will be the key to finding him

My fathers birthname is G.Preetvinderpal Singh, but he used to go by Preet or Jack. He was 23 years old when I was born, putting him at around 40 years old now. He is Sikh, from Malaysia, and is of Malaysian descent. I know he speaks English fluently and I believe that he also speaks Punjabi fluently, though I am not positive. The last known address I’ve found for him puts him in Quebec somewhere. My grandparents are Retired Major Kirpal Singh and Mohinder Singh, my great-grandparents are Sewa Singh and Thermo Kaur. I know there’s a very slim chance of me finding him but I have to try everything. I can’t put into words how desperate I am to find him.

If you know him or of him or even of someone else who might know him, please feel free to send me a message here on tumblr or an email at jesse.singh153@gmail.com . I have more pictures available for anyone who needs more to be sure.

Even if you don’t know him, please please please reblog this, so that maybe someone who does can see this and help.

I’m not interested in money or anything like that. Honestly, i’m just a kid desperate to find their dad.

Thank you to anyone who reads and reblogs this, it is very much appreciated!

what being triggered is:

  • intense panic attacks
  • 7 hours of sobbing in the bathroom, trying not to throw up.
  • actually throwing up.
  • flashbacks to traumatic events.
  • one side of yourself saying “death will get rid of the memories” and the other side making excuses not to.
  • being unable to sleep in fear of dreaming about said traumatic events
  • being unable to be around anything that even slightly reminds you of said traumatic event
  • tensing up and feeling ill when someone even vaguely mentions anything related to the traumatic event you experienced, trying your best to avoid crying about it.
  • why am i crying? this is irrational, it wont happen again. why does this hurt so much. why can’t i just forget. this is all in my head. stop thinking about it. stop thinking about it stop thinking about it.
  • likely caused by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or other serious stress causing disorders.
  • nightmares waking you up at three in the morning and trying to keep yourself together just long enough to get back to sleep because you have classes to attend in the morning.
  • shaking and trying to keep it together in public as you’re crytyping when you’re venting to a friend because all you want is to get it off your chest, whether or not anyone can even understand what you’re trying to get across.
  • you know this thing you love doing that’s completely unrelated to trauma? you experienced a vague flashback while doing it so now you can’t do it again out of fear you’ll have worse flashbacks.
  • completely forgetting who you are and being completely numb.
  • maybe if I hurt myself in this way, I’ll stop hurting in that way.
  • stuttering and having a difficult time breathing as you try to ask someone not to bring up the subject again. Being too loud or being too quiet as you try to hide the fact this is extremely distressing.
  • something you need professional help and therapy to “get over”
  • different for everybody

what being triggered is not:

  • being uncomfortable with something
  • a joke

Someone Else's Stars

Hey! Are you sick of books about gay teens written by straight adults?
Are you sick of books about mental illness by neurotypicals where it “all gets better”???
well look here!!! I’m a gay mentally ill teen in North Carolina who wrote this around the time HB2 was passed and got it published! It takes place in the 1950s in NYC and there’s not a single straight character. Please help support my writing and even just reblog it :-)

Kind of a continuation of this

Someone in Instagram suggested this dialogue and I couldn’t help myself XD.  Not having enough with bothering the brothers, Bendy comes often to remember them the limited time they have to get the contracts and of course they are not amused.

please reblog, don’t repost (I already have someone reposting my stuff without my consent, so please don’t do it)

Edit: I made a mistake in one of the drawings, its corrected now XD
