A new PlayStation 4 model is on the way

Yes, the next iteration of the fabled PlayStation 4 is 100% confirmed. While every console generation before it has had a new more refined model follow the first, this doesn’t come as much as a surprise. Especially with many of the rumors that were circulating earlier.

President and global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House only could give us a few new details on the new console version.

“It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” says House. “We will be selling both versions through the life cycle. We want to ensure we have a full range of the best experiences on the new system that we can showcase in their entirety.”

Many people are worried that they may be left behind with a new model on the way as over 30 million people own a PS4 console. However, it has been stated that the new PS4 model won’t pull support from developers for games of the current PS4 or the PlayStation VR. The new model will support 4K resolution and 4K Blu-Ray discs.

While we don’t know the a lot of the big details like pricing or the what the release window is, we do know that the so called PS4.5 or PlayStation Neo won’t be at E3 2016.

Keep tuned to PlayStation Persuasion as more details continue to roll in.

Bethesda tweeted today that they are “close” on completing DLC content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PS3. Skyrim has been out for almost a year and yet no DLC has been released on PS3. Bethesda has also recently just revealed their third DLC set called, “Dragonborn” but with no mention of the PS3 system at all.

What do you think PS3 owners? Have you moved on from Skyrim? Or would a free or discounted Dawnguard or Hearthfire DLC change your mind?
