suited up

other youtube lpers/streamers/game players you could watch instead of the all the popular ones who have ended up showing their support for anti-semitism

  • griffin mcelroy / griffin and justin mcelroy / griffin mcelroy and nick robinson - everyone knows these guys obviously but they’re definitely worth recommending
  • slowbeef - arguably the father of lets play - he didn’t invent the concept but he definitely coined the term. mainly streams nowadays, including “wifestreams”, in which his very vg unaware wife gets to grips with a variety of games in the most endearing manner possible
  • diabetus - slowbeef’s partner in crime but a very competent lper himself. broke in with an lp of battletoads (a notoriously difficult game), but does a whole range of games
  • voidburger - big silent hill fan - she’s done very comprehensive lps of the more notable games in the series. also streams a lot too
  • chipcheezum and general ironicus - chip is voidburger’s bf, and has been doing lps with his pal ironicus for about the same length of time. tend to do action games like uncharted and the wonderful 101
  • narcissa wright - speedrunner and smash player. she’s taking a break from that kind of thing at the moment but has been talking about getting back into speedrunning once breath of the wild comes out, so keep an eye on her
  • sheshellssheshells - common collaborater with voidburger. also goes by Kamoc and tortoiseontour. tends to stream goofy horror games but has a fun little series called “everything wrong with everything wrong with…” in which he nitpicks the nitpickers of youtube
  • boilingheart - mostly does overwatch stuff. has a series of cute videos in which she attempts to make friends with the enemy team during matches

additionally, the following people aren’t exactly lpers but they discuss games critically in interesting ways

  • hbomberguy - mainly does videos in which he criticizes the alt-right and its associated groups, but also does a number of videos talking about various media, including some really interesting long form video essays about why fallout 3 is shit and bloodborne is really good. also a very funny guy
  • mark brown - short video essays about game design. currently doing a series about the dungeon design of legend of zelda which is very interesting in its own right
  • hamish black - kind of like mark but more scottish. does some longform in depth analysis of games as well
  • push to smart - has some really interesting videos about women in games and stuff like the bechdel test. unfortunately seems to have stopped making videos but there’s still some good stuff in there

i should note that these people aren’t perfect in any way (who is) and especially some of their earlier stuff has some off colour jokes, but they’re people who have shown that they are open to criticism and are willing to change and be better people rather than do something like, i dunno, make a number of heavily anti-semitic videos, then double down and claim innocent victimhood when it blows up in their face

Nerve (2016)

‘Welcome to Nerve, a game like truth or dare, minus the truth. Watchers pay to watch. Players play to win cash and glory. Are you a watcher or a player? Are you a watcher or a player? Are you a watcher or a player? Watch? Play?’

anonymous asked:

dark rc would you please consider writing about how victor (and the rest of the Russian skate team) had a feud with the Russian hockey team bc of their constant flirting and attentions towards yuuri (who was completely oblivious at the war waging for his heart)??

This has been sitting in my inbox for over a month and I apologize for that, nonny! I wanted to try my hand at breaking through this writer’s block and this prompt was ripe for the taking. It’s not my best work by any stretch, but it’s something at least! I hope you enjoy.

There are few things that give Yuri pleasure—the taste of accomplishment like cinnamon sugar on the back of his tongue after landing a quad; having a comeback so cutting that he practically draws blood; that soft murrf a cat makes when it decides it trusts him; the little green screenshot arrow appearing next to Otabek’s name in Snapchat—but they all pale in comparison to whenever the Russian hockey team visits the rink.

WILLY AND NICKY SHOWING OFF THEIR BROMANCE IN THE CHANGING ROOM AFTER BECOMING 2017 WORLD CHAMPIONS (ft; willy’s sexy and rapsy post slashing voice)

INTERVIEWER: how do you you feel about it william? (getting to win a world championship with nicklas)

WILLIAM: it’s just incredibly fun. he’s a player i’ve watched and wanted to be like when i was younger. he was like an idol. so it’s incredible to get to win with him

INTERVIEWER: have you already lost your voice?

WILLIAM: i got a… slash. so that’s why i can’t speak.

NICKLAS: he actually just hit puberty.

Know what kind of volleyball player you are:

I was watching this video ‘How to be a Volleyball player’

and this happened:

The noob: Hinata Shouyou

The one who is too loud: Tanaka Ryuunosuke

The tall guy who can´t jump: Tsukishima Kei

The exaggerator: Nishinoya Yuu

Bench warmer: Ennoshita Chikara

The drama queen: Bokuto Koutarou

The one who never shows up: Kyoutani Kentarou

The one with the weird serve routine: Miya Atsumu

BONUS

The setter: the one who blames the team for everything

- You really expect me to get that…?

- You´re way to slow… it´s not that hard!!!!

the first time jack visits tater’s apartment unannounced he accidentally sits on kent parson’s 6 month old espn body issue, hastily showed between two sofa cushions.

what follows is the most awkward conversation since bad bob tried to tell a 20 yr old jack about the birds and the bees. it really solidifies their friendship.

i started watching football not knowing how emotional it’s going to be in the long run

i’ve cried at knock out rounds, derbies, quarter finals, semi finals, finals, and last night i cried at an international friendly

i cry when my team loses an important match, but i cry harder when they win

i cry when my favorite players retire and hang up their boots

i get emotional thinking that in a few years, the players i grew up watching and admiring will do the same soon

football is such a beautiful sport and before i started watching it, i honestly never realized what an emotional ride it will take you on

however, i am thankful that i got into it and i feel sorry for who doesn’t watch it because they’re truly missing out

Star Wars Age!Squash AU, Comic #02

Initiate Era - Master Dooku & Qui-Gon

Master Dooku has the highest standards and only chooses the most elite of the elite as his apprentices. Initiate Jinn is a prodigy and looks perfect on the records and is also exceptionally gifted in sensing the Living Force. Master Dooku thought he would make the perfect Padawan. Sometimes, Master Dooku is wrong.

Or, Master Dooku has to bribe a young Padawan Qui-Gon with Obi-Wan’s company in order to get him to do anything.

[A/N] In this AU where everyone is happy, almost no one is evil and everyone lives, Master Dooku is that grumpy grandpa who looks super scary but is actually ridiculously soft once you get to know him. Qui-Gon is his third apprentice, and all three of his Padawans are ridiculously rebellious (and spoiled) in their own ways. You’ll meet the other two soon <3

Your friend holds a bowl of popcorn out to you when it happens.

You curse and grab your arm, curling up and grimacing.

“Again?” Is all Maria says, placing the bowl back in her lap and taking a handful of popcorn.

You groan. “I’m going to kill this idiot when I meet him.”

She laughs. “You’re going to kill your soulmate?”

“Yes.” You grumble.

“Well, how bad is it this time?” She crunches the popcorn in her mouth as the two of you ignore the record droning on in the background.

You remove your hand from your bicep. A red patch of skin grows under where your hand was clutched, bubbling up in the center. You hiss at the sight.

“Oh, that’s disgusting. Do you have your medkit?”

You nod, squeezing your eyes shut. “How the hell did he get a burn there?” You mumble, reaching to your hip and unlatching the medkit you carry with you. It holds everything from tiny bandages to a tourniquet. The tourniquet was a joke gift from another friend when they’d noticed all the scars covering your body, but you’re not so sure you won’t need it someday.

“Leaned against an open oven?”

“With their upper arm?”

She shrugs, tossing more popcorn into her mouth. “Possible.”

“Whatever.” You dig around in the bag and find the bottle of burn cream. You’d bought it six months before and used half of it already.

Maria looks back to the record player, watching the disk spin. “You’re missing the best part of the song.”

“I’m sorry, I’m a little busy.” You spit. You’d been having a perfectly good night before your soulmate had to go and do something stupid.

You finish applying the burn cream when a deep cut suddenly rips opens on your left forearm. A trail of blood rushes out of it, dripping onto your blanket before you can grab anything.

One of the great things about being Autistic is just how intensely we feel things - sensually, emotionally, personally. A lot of times the struggles of that intensity is highlighted, which is understandable, but not so often is the joyous and positive side of it highlighted.

We experience and absorb the world in such a unique and specific way solely to us and its absolutely wonderful. I love that the simplest things to a Non-Autistic person, that they just glide over, can invoke such passion in us. I love that we find the beauty in that which is taken for granted, or never even known to Allistics at all because they just don’t think like us, and we can help bring a greater understanding and observance to the world just by being ourselves.

I love that we’re like this. I love that our reality is so intense, so colorful, so awe-inspiring. I love that we can filled with such love so easily, and that we can love in ways that no one else can. I love that I’m Autistic.
