fun fact: the pokemon player profile description isn't long enough to write "Real gamers suck toes"

1)that’s a shame honestly

2)for a moment there i was really tempted to set my profile description on the University of Maryland Learning Management System to be “real gamers suck toes”

“My students like pro wrestling, so I try to keep up with it so I can talk to them. And if there’s a new video game that I hear them talking about, I’ll go pick it up. The big one now is NBA 2k. I’ve created a player profile and everything. My player is 7’4.” He’s a monster. But anyway, I just want to participate in the conversations they enjoy, because I know there are going to be times when there needs to be a tough conversation. And I want them to know that I cared about them before there was a problem.“

Socrates Brasileiro Sampaio de Souza Vieira de Oliveira, born 19 Feb 1954;

Was a force of nature – and nicotine addict. This perhaps helps to explain why he performed with such thrilling slothfulness in taking penalties - that short passage of play that distils all a footballer’s virtues and vices into his very essence.

Captained Brazil in the glorious 1982 world cup which included other legends such as Pele, Zico and Eder, was an elegant yet brutal player with his lanky frame towering over his team mates gliding up and down the pitch flicking passes to all areas of the pitch.

It is debated he was the creator of the no look heel pass that was is now seen as a much loved piece of selfless flair. He played his football for most notably Corinthians, Flamengo and Santos in Brazil. He also played briefly for a season at the Italian club, Fiorentina

Remembered as one of the greats, being placed in many top 100 footballer’s of the century even though having never won a world cup medal. Also used his popularity to challenge military dictatorship, wearing shirts that stated Democracia spurring a wider movement in democrisation in Brasil.

“People want to punish you for trying to express your individuality or express your opinions. I think as athletes we’re expected to be these great role models, which I take pride in but at the same time being a role model, is it walking the line that everybody wants you to walk, or is it being able to stand strong in your belief?” - Hope Solo
