Canoodling - Jughead Jones

So after watching episode 2 of Riverdale I was wondering if I could have a Jughead imagine? Where you’re secretly dating because you’re considered popular and basically kiss him in front of “the popular” people to stop them from thinking Jughead isn’t getting laid? Thanks!

imagine please? defending jughead when reggie teases him, probably?

I kind of combined the two of these things…I hope you two are okay with that…I really enjoyed writing it.  I kinda changed the order of events, in the episode, a bit and I hope that’s okay. I don’t even know what that ending is…

You were walking down the halls of Riverdale High School when you felt a tug on your hand and was pulled inside the storage closet. The door shut behind you quickly, but not before there was still enough light to see the outline of an all too familiar hat.

“We really must stop meeting like this.” Despite the darkness, you could almost see the glint in Jughead’s smile as he said the line. You pulled on the light string hanging from the ceiling and found yourself nearly chest to chest with your boyfriend. “You dork,” you said while rolling your eyes. He smiled at you and despite the recent light of events, you felt happy. Jughead grabbed your hand in both of his, running his fingers over your knuckles. “Do you wanna stay after school for the game?” His gaze lifted from your hands to your eyes and you saw them sparkle. “Of course. How’d everything go with Archie?” He shrugged in response, “Good, hopefully it’ll get better after the game.” You nodded, leaning upwards to pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. “I’m going to be late,” you started to pull away, “I’ll see you after school in the lounge, Okay?” He gave your hand one last squeeze, “See ya later, Y/N.” You shot him another smile and quickly darted out of the closet. When back in the hallway, you looked around and sighed in relief that nobody saw you sneak out of hiding. It wasn’t because you were ashamed of dating Jughead, granted you were somewhat popular amongst your peers; it was because you and Jughead both found value in privacy. It was nobody else’s business what you got up to in your freetime and Jughead simply didn’t care about your peers to tell anyone that you two were dating. It was troublesome sneaking around, but moments like those where it was just you two alone, even briefly, were the moments you looked forward to the most.

When the final bell rang, you made your way towards the lounge. You figured that Jughead would already be there, in an attempt to find a spot before it filled up with cheerleaders and loud jocks. Your guess was correct because, when you walked in, your eyes landed on him. He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed on his chest, and scowling at the people before him. When he saw you, he gave you a quick smile that you returned. In order to avoid suspicion, you walked over to greet a few of the jocks and fell into conversation with Veronica.

You almost were having a good time when Reggie, a cocky football player, started to talk about Jason Blossom’s murder, instantly killing the mood. “If someone here did kill him, it couldn’t have been a jock. No, it would be the lonely, sad internet troll, that’s too busy typing manifestos to get laid.” You looked up and saw Reggie staring at Jughead as if in question. “Like Jughead.” The others started laughing, except for you and Archie. Anger burned in your heart, but you couldn’t defend your boyfriend with making it obvious. Then again, if you weren’t going to stand up for him, why were you dating him? You stood up with purpose, walking towards your boyfriend. He raised his eyebrows but you simply leaned forward and pressed your lips to his. Howls and whistles were let out by half the people in the lounge. You pulled back, because if you didn’t, you were sure you wouldn’t be able to stop. “You’ve gotta be kidding me, really Y/N, he’s why you wouldn’t date me?” Reggie yelled and you spun on your heels to face the football player. “Damn right he’s why,” you yelled back, “he’s not a dick that picks on others like yourself!” Everybody hollered and ‘oohed’ at your words. Then Veronica finally spoke up,  “So it looks like he’s getting laid after all,” you let out a laugh and grabbed Jughead’s hand in yours.

“But that doesn’t change anything! He still probably killed him.” Reggie shouted, trying to regain his high-ground. “Did you, ya know, do anything to the body? Like, after?” he asked, pressing Jughead further. You felt a sense of pride when Jughead answered, “It’s called necrophilia Reggie, can you spell it?” A smile crept up on your features, as you turned to Jughead. Suddenly, Reggie darted towards him, but Archie lunged forward in defense. “Shut the Hell up, Reggie.” Archie hissed, but Reggie wasn’t having it. Soon a fight broke out and it ended with Archie getting punched in the face, along with a teacher escorting Reggie out of the room.

You and Jughead decided it was probably best to get out of the school, so you started to make your way to his place. The walk was quiet, with neither of you willing to talk about what had happened yet. Before you knew it, you both turned into the driveway to his house  and walked inside. You both set your bags down and Jughead made a beeline to the kitchen. “Where are your parents?” You asked as you started to take off your shoes. “I found a note that said they were out shopping.” Jughead yelled across the house. You walked into the kitchen where Jughead was head-first in the refrigerator. You let out a giggle at the site, causing Jughead to face you. “What’s so funny?” You felt a blush rise to your cheeks and you lifted yourself to sit on the countertop, “You.” He walked towards you, standing in between your legs. He stared at you as you wrapped your arms over his shoulders and brought him closer. He leaned forward and brought his lips to yours, his hand reaching up to cup your jaw. Your hand pulled his hat off his head and with the other, your fingers buried themselves in his hair. You leaned back slightly pressing a sweet kiss to his cheek.

“You want this back?” You asked, teasingly holding his hat by your fingertip. He smiled, leaning in once more, capturing your lips in another playful kiss. When you were distracted, he took the opportunity to snag his hat back. “Hey,” you said, pulling away from him. He let out a smug chuckle. “Thanks for that,” Jughead said, turning back to the search for food in the cabinets. “For what?” You asked, hopping down from the counter. He turned and gave you a pointed look, “Putting Reggie in his place.”

“He needed to be proved wrong.” He smiled at you, “So you were simply proving him wrong?” You nodded and he stepped closer to you. His hands rested on your hips, pulling you closer, “So you’re okay with canoodling at school now?” You let out a small laugh, “Canoodling? No, but acting like a couple, of course.” His green eyes sparkled at your answer, and he pressed a kiss to your lips. When you backed away you smiled, “Are you going to write this in your novel?” He smiled back with mischief gleaming in his eyes, “Maybe I will.”

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

Instead of going outside to cheek the noise, you go upstairs to Wanda’s room have never been particularly good in at dealing with conflicts, and whatever was happening between Dan and Bucky downstairs was a conflict.

‘What are you doing here?” You ask Wanda when you see that she is in her room instead of downstairs enjoying her party “I could ask you the same thing, this is my room after all.” You close the door, sitting by her side on the floor “Yes it is, but I asked you first.”

“I miss Pietro, this party is everything he would ever want but he is not here to enjoy. Now you, why are hiding?” She says taking a deep breath as she leans on your shoulder “Why did you invite Dan?” You ask her instead of answering her question, you are not angry at her you just want to know why she was meddling into this.

“You are not gonna like the answer but we have been friends for two years and I never felt that you liked anyone of your past dates ,it has always been Bucky on your mind. But the day you came back from your date with Dan, I could see that you liked the guy and you need to give this relationship with Dan a chance… a real one.”

Our Booth ~ Jughead Jones

Okay, I have quickly become extremely obsessed with Riverdale, and mainly Jughead! I love the new twist on the character, and I absolutely love the way that Cole Sprouse portrays him, so I needed to write something for him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   You had just moved back to Riverdale after three years of being away. You were excited to see all your old friends again and to see what they were like now; especially your old best friend, Jughead Jones. You had both been pretty devastated when your mom told you that she had gotten a job that required you to move. You two had kept in touch for almost two years after that, but it faded to a couple text messages here and there, until the two of you just completely stopped. For the last two years you hadn’t seen or heard anything from your absolute best friend in the entire world.
   Your mom had sent you to pick up your takeout at the local diner and your personal favourite place to eat; Pop’s.  Jughead and you used to come here all the time, every friday night you would sit at the same table and just talk about life, that booth was your happy place. Walking in, Pop comes from behind the counter to greet you.
“(Y/N), I didn’t know that you were back in town, how are your parents?” He asks.
“They’re great, they actually sent me to pick up our food. You know that none of us can resist your burgers” you smile at him.
“Well, I will get that ready for you, it’ll take a minute so, make yourself comfortable.”
“Thank you Pop”
    You look around the room and notice that the place is completely empty except one person; you didn’t expect anything different at this time on a Friday night. The boy looked to be about your age with black hair covered by a beanie, he was typing away furiously on his laptop.
    Damn, he is attractive!
   He also happened to be sitting in your favourite booth. You decide to go talk to him, maybe you’ll have a friend before you start school in a couple days.
   Standing next to the table, you greet him, “Hello, would you mind if I sat?”
“Why?” He asks, not looking up from his laptop.
“I don’t know, maybe so we can have a conversation? Doesn’t seem like you’ve got a line up of people wanting to talk to you.” I sassed.
“Fine, whatever” he agrees, not looking at you still.
“Thank you” I reply politely, sitting down across from him, “I’m starting to understand why people aren’t fighting to be your bestie.”
“I really don’t care if people like me, I’m fine on my own.” He rolls his eyes at you.
“Wow, you’re really hot, shame about the personality though” you snark
“Well, I don’t think anyone could ever be as lovely as you” he tells you sarcastically.
“Whatever. What are you writing?” You ask, pointing to his laptop.
“A novel” he answers.
“About?”
“What happened here this summer, the murder of Jason Blossom” he says flatly.
“Interestic topic” you try.
“Order for (L/N)” Pop says, bringing the bag of food to the table and placing it in front of you, “ It’s good to see you two back together again, and in your booth too. You know (Y/N), Jughead never sits at a different table, even in all the time that you were gone.”
   Pop smiles at the two of you before making his way back behind the counter.
“(Y/N) (L/N), is it really you?” Beanie boy asks you, losing the grumpy attitude instantly, closing his laptop he just stares at you wide eyed.
   He searched your face like he was trying to memorize it. he had a look of pure joy on his face and you assumed that you had the same look. You had missed him so much, and now he was right here in front of you again, you were overjoyed to have your best friend back.
“The one and only” you answer happily, “ you look different Jug.”
“So do you” he answers with a grin, “I didn’t even recognize you.”
“Did you really always sit here?” You question.
“Every Friday, six O'clock on the dot” He answers, “I guess I just hoped that one day you’d come back through those doors and everything would go back to the way it used to be; you and me against the world.”
“That is the sweetest thing I have ever heard Jug” you say, causing a blush to appear on his cheeks, “I guess your wish finally came true.”
“I guess it has” he smiles, “come on, let me walk you home, I haven’t seen your parents in ages.”
The two of you stand and he packs up his bag, before throwing the strap over his shoulder.
“They have definitely missed you” you beam, “but, not as much as I have.”
“Good to know (Y/N), cause I have missed you to” He says, pulling you in for a tight hug.
  You stand there for a minute, just hugging, trying to make up for the years without eachother. His head rests on top of yours, while yours is laid on his chest.
“Damn, you got tall Jughead.” You laugh from your place in his arms.
“I like it, I’m the perfect height to rest my head on yours” you don’t have to see his face to know that he is smiling.
“You’re such a dork.” You laugh.
“I know, I got that from so many years of hanging out with you” He jokes as the two of you pull away from the hug. He grabs one of your hands in his, intertwining your fingers as he grabs the bag of food with his other hand.
   You pay for your food and exit through the front door of Pop’s into the chilly September weather, walking together down the sidewalk, hands clasped together tightly.
“Now, what’s this about me being hot?” Jughead teases you lovingly.
“Shut up.”
Grocery Store
Relationship: Tim Drake x Reader, Damian Wayne x sisterly!Reader
Summary:  Tim lost Damian at the grocery store and you found him and now it seems like you two are best friends and he doesn’t wanna lose contact with you.
Key: Y/N= your name
“Y/N! Sweetie I need you to run to the store,” your mom shouted up the stairs.
“Yeah Mom, I’ll be right down!” You turned off your music and stampeded down the stairs and into the kitchen.
“Here’s the list, remember the roast beef this time, and you can grab some ice cream if you have money left over,” your mom ran through her list then she slapped some money into your hand and sent you on your way to the grocery store.
As you left your car, you looked over the list for dinner and strolled into the store. You meandered though the fruits, grabbing bananas, on your way towards the meat section. You over heard two boys arguing over onions.
“Drake, Alfred wanted red onions,” the small boy stated pointedly.
“It literally says right here that he needs white onions,” the older boy pointed to the list, on his phone, in his hand, “so we’re getting white.”
“Well I like red.”
“Good thing I didn’t ask your opinion.” You chuckled and watched the smaller boy slapped ‘Drake’. “Ouch, you demon.” He was greeted with a tongue sticking out. “Real mature,” he said rolling his eyes.
While the exchange was humorous to you, you had to carry on shopping, your mom wouldn’t want to be waiting forever.
“Master Tim, I’m quite busy taking care of Master Bruce at the moment. Do you mind picking up Master Damian from school and grabbing the makings for dinner,” Alfred asked Tim over the phone.
Tim groaned silently, “Yeah Al, no problem. Just text me the list.”
Tim hated driving Damian home from school. He had to sit in the car and listen to Damian complain about how wrong his teachers were and how ignorant his peers were. It was the absolute worst.
Tim pulled up in front of the school. “Damian, get in.” Damian glared at Tim for a minute then slipped into the car.
“Where is Pennyworth?”
“He’s with Bruce, so you gotta deal with me and we have to go to the store.” Damian groaned. Tim just rolled his eyes and drove to the store, listening to Damian complain.
They walked in and began the search for ingredients. The boys started with vegetables.
“Okay, white onions…” Tim scanned the aisle and walked to the onions.
“Drake, Alfred wanted red onions.”
After a debate over what onion to get, Damian decided he no longer wanted to shop with Tim. So when Tim went to to pick up bread, Damian went to find where the ice cream was.
“Damian, put this in the cart,” Tim reached behind him to hand the bread to the boy, “Damian don’t be an ass.” Tim turned around and found the cart abandoned.
Tim sneered to himself, Good riddance. That was until he realized Alfred would kill him if he didn’t come back with Damian.
“Shit.”
You had grabbed the last thing on the list and did a quick self-checkout to find that you still had money left over. “Sweet! Thanks momma,” you cheered and skipped on over to the ice cream aisle. When you got there, you found the small boy from the veggie section looking over the ice cream selections.
“Hey there,” you waved. He glanced at you then back to the ice cream. “So, you more of an vanilla or a chocolate kinda person?”
He looked at you and quirked his head like a dog. “Mint chocolate.”
“Hey, that’s my favorite,” you squealed, “have you seen a container? I’m dying for some.”
“No, they seem to have run out,” the little boy snapped.
“It’s okay…um…” You stood there awkwardly, waiting for his name.
“I am Damian Wayne.,” he puffed his chest out proudly, “What’s your name?”
You were surprised to find this young Wayne wandering the store by himself, but you didn’t really question it. “I’m Y/N. You wanna see what else they got?”
He stood thoughtfully for a second then shrugged his shoulder, “Sure.”
You grabbed his hand and felt him stiffen. You gave him a smile and he loosened up. You steered your cart down the aisle, talking to Damian about the best ice cream flavors.
Losing hope that Damian was still even in the store, Tim zoomed up and down almost every single aisle in the store. He scanned them for the short devil and was coming up empty.
“Ugh,” he shouted at the couple of people in the aisle. “Sorry,” he blushed. He ran to the next aisle. When he got there, he heard Damian talking to someone the next one over. Bolting into the ice cream section, Tim saw his demonic brother with a very cute girl.
“Damian! Jeez, I’ve looked through the entire store for you. Come on, we have to get this stuff home to Alfred,” Tim complained. He grabbed at Damian’s shoulder, but he pulled back.
“If you were looking very intently, how could you take so long to find me,” Damian grinned.
“Because I didn’t want to,” Tim sneered, “come on.”
Tim turned to you. “Sorry for him, whatever offensive things he may have said.”
You glared at him, “He was a perfect gentleman, thank you very much.” You watched as he blushed.
“Y/N, this is, unfortunately, my somewhat sibling, Tim Drake,” Damian leaned in closer to you, “He’s idiotic.” You giggled at his comment.
“Well, Damian, it was a pleasure to be your ice cream buddy. Maybe we’ll find each other in the ice cream aisle again sometime?” You stuck out you hand for him to shake it.
He grabbed it and shook. Then he looked at Tim, “Drake, get out your phone.”
“Wha-what, why?”
“So you can get Y/N’s number, and I can stay in contact with her. She’s more tolerable than the entire Wayne household,” Damian rationalized.
You blushed. You didn’t realize how much he liked you and it was nice. “Sure, here,” you grabbed Tim’s phone and typed in your number, “Call me anytime Damian.” You ruffed his hair. Tim waited for him to chaste you, but nothing came. “Bye guys!”
You called your mom as you left the store, “Sorry it took so long mom, had to take care of a boy who was left alone. I’ll be home soon.”
Tim glared at Damian. “I can’t believe you.” Damian just looked at him with a smug little smirk on his lips. Tim snatched his collar, “Come on!”
Tim dragged Damian to the checkout then to his car, never taking his eye off the boy.
Tim’s phone seemed to be Damian’s, seeing how often he was on it with you. “Damian! I need my phone back, I have to call someone! Damian!” Tim stormed through the manor yelling for his phone. He finally found Damian in the library, but before he could yell at him he overheard the conversation.
“Y/N, why are you so interested in Drake? I told you he’s an imbecile and not very mannered.” Damian listened to your response. “Well, I guess he may have some good qualities, but they are usually masked by his stench.”
Tim scoffed and Damian heard. Tim didn’t bother waiting for him to stop talking, “Dude, hand me my phone. I have to make a call.”
“No Drake, you can see I’m on the phone!”
You heard some grunts on the other side of the line, ending with Damian yelling in the background. You assumed that Tim had won the fight over the phone. “Hey, Y/N, Damian says bye but don’t go yet. Just give me a minute.”
You listened to the sound of feet, guessing he was walking to a more private place to talk.
“Sorry, I was hoping to clear the air on how my brother portrays me so, maybe, we could go out sometime? I mean you’d get approval from the hardest Wayne.”
You busted out laughing, “You’ve got a lot of damage control to do.”
Alex had been ignoring you lately, and you didn’t even know why. He had been off and distant after the whole Apocalypse fiasco and nearly dying.
You sat in Alex’s room, little sparks shooting out from your fingers and jumping onto your other hand. Your mutation was electrokinesis. It wasn’t the worst mutation, but it surely wasn’t the greatest either. It surfaced when you were in seventh grade, a bit later than most mutants here. You were just at home, working on your art project when you felt a pulse of electricity through you, but you thought nothing of it. When you got up to get something your socks were rubbing against the carpet, creating even more electric friction. As soon as your hand had landed on the metal of radio it blew out, sparks erupting from every inch of the object and your hands. You had screamed out for your parents and the rushed to you, faces full of worry. When your father’s hand landed on your shoulder he was electrocuted and stumbled backwards. After that your parents sent you away to the school, hoping that your ‘disease’ as they called it would be cured. So far that didn’t happen, it only got worse.
The door to his room opened and you sat up, fixing your messy hair. Alex though his jacket and bag on the ground, huffing in…annoyance? Anger?
“Hey babe, what’s wrong?” You asked standing up and walking over to him. Alex ignored you, sitting on his bed and running his hands down his face. You frowned, wondering why he just blew you off. “Alex..?”
“What?” He snapped, his head turning in your direction. You gulped, playing with the bracelet around your wrist, the one he gave to you on your one year anniversary.
“Is something wrong? You’ve been ignoring me and you’ve been distant since whole thing with Apocalypse…” You looked at him, watching him closely.
Scoffing he rolled his eyes. “I’m perfectly fine, Y/N. Now go along and go do something else besides bothering me.” You rose an eyebrow, stalking over to him and standing in front of him with your arms crossed.
“Why the hell are you acting like this to me? I have done nothing, nothing wrong to hurt you or bother you in any way, so please tell me what the hell I did wrong to be treated the way you’ve been treating me.” Alex stood up, nearly towering over you but you weren’t scared of his height or anything about him for that matter.
“it’s not you it’s me, okay? I haven’t been thinking straight and I’m not happy, I’m really fucking upset, and you’re always just talking, talking, talking and it’s so god damn annoying!” His voice was raising, and that only made yours raise.
“I’m annoying? I’m annoying? Really, what do you think couples are supposed to do, Alex? Just fuck and then ignore each other?” You shot at him. “Am I not making you happy? Is that why I seem annoying to you?”
“I don’t know! All I know is that I’m just sick and tired of having to please you or the others, hell even myself and it’s not making me happy. This relationship isn’t making me happy!” Your heart shattered at his words and then you finally realized that he didn’t even want to be in this relationship with you, all of the feeling were completely one sided. Alex went wide eyed as he realized what he just said to you and before he could even speak another word you yelled at him.
“Are you happy now? Huh? DOES THIS MAKE YOU HAPPY?” Tears stung your eyes and your tried your hardest not to have the spill out. “Does us fighting make you happy? Does faking your love for someone make you happy?” Alex reached out and raised your hand, glaring at him. The lights above you flickered and you eyes sparked dangerously.
“Wait no baby I’m sorry I didn’t-” Alex spoke quickly but you just put on your jacket, shaking your head and laughing dryly.
“Don’t ‘baby’ me, Summers. If this relationship isn’t making you happy, if I’m not making you happy than we can be friends instead.” Alex looked shocked, broken at your words and you opened the door to his room, stepping out before turning and saying, “Actually let’s just not be friends, I’ve wasted enough time on you, I don’t need to waste anymore.” With that you slammed the door behind you, running to your room and then collapsing onto the floor. All around you sparks shot out from your body, and you could feel the energy just draining and making you weaker.
The door to your room opened and in walked Scott and Jean. You must have looked like a total mess to the, so pathetic and sad. The two ran over to you, Jean carefully lifting you up and getting you to look at her.
“Hey, hey what happened? Why are you crying?” She asked, wiping away some of the tears that streamed down your face. You sniffled looking down at you lap.
“Alex and I broke up, he said that the relationship wasn’t making him happy..” You mumbled. Jeans mouth gaped open and she pulled you into a tight hug, rubbing your back as you let loose the tears once again. “I wasted years on him, Jean. I wasted so much time thinking that he actually loved me, but really everything was just one sided.” You mumbled, pulling away from Jean’s embrace. “God I’m so fucking stupid.” You muttered.
“You’re not stupid, Y/N, Alex is the stupid one for letting you go and saying such horrible things to you.” Scott said, patting your back softly. You shrugged, wiping your eyes and taking in a deep breathe.
“I need to do something, anything. It feel like my insides are burning and my heart hurts so bad.” You mumbled, standing up. Jean and Scott followed suit.
“We can go get ice-cream at the mall? From your favorite place and then walk around, just looking at stuff and talking?” You nodded. “I’ll get the others too, just to show you and Alex that you don’t need to be in a relationship to be happy.” You chuckled, nodding and giving a weak smile. Jean hugged you again before the three of you walked out of your room to find the rest of your friends.
You, Jean, Scott, Jubilee, Kurt, and Peter went to the mall, blasting music from he radio as your all drove down there. When you got there everyone jumped out, dragging you along with them, everyone smiling and joking around as they usually would. The group of mutants walked into the mall, going straight for your favorite ice-cream shop. Everyone ordered their ice-creams, you being last. When you reached the counter you were mesmerized by the boy that stood behind the counter. He looked back at you with a smile.
“What can I get you, Miss?” He asked. You shook your head slightly and looked over all the flavors.
“Um..can I get a scoop of cookie dough, a scoop of chocolate and peanut butter, with whipped cream, sprinkles, and choclate drizzle. The boy laughed and nodded, putting your order into the cash register and then putting everything in a bowl. You reached for your wallet but the boy shook his head, stopping you.
“You look like you’ve had a rough day, I’ll pay for this sweetheart.” He said smiling and handing you your ice-cream. You blushed as you took the bowl from him, your fingers brushing, sending a small spark up the boys arm. He looked at you in amazement. Your eyes went wide.
“I-I’m so sorry! I didn’t, I didn’t mean to do that!” You say quickly, pulling your hands back. The boy chuckled and shook his head.
“It’s okay, I won’t judge.” He smiled, holding out his hand. “My name’s Leo by the way.” You smiled back, shaking his hand.
“Y/N.” You pulled your hand back, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. “Well I should probably get going, it was nice to meet you, Leo.” Leo smiled and you walked off, jogging over to your friends with a smile spread wide across your face.
Peter looked over at you, raising an eyebrow. “For someone who just got out of a relation ship, you look pretty damn happy. Did you talk to that guy at the ice-cream shop or something?” You nodded, taking a bite of your ice-cream.
“Mhm, I did.” Jean chuckled at you, slightly nudging you.
“Meeting other people does help when you’re trying to move on.” Scott noted, You furrowed your eyebrows.
Did you want to move on?
Grayson and I were hanging out in my living room on our phones with Netflix on in the background. It’s been almost a month since his interview and we still haven’t talked about what was said. About me confessing my feelings or about him claiming we were just friends. He’s also been a little on edge lately. Anything I do he gets super pissed about and rants about it until I tell him to leave or I do something else to catch his attention. Recently I’ve been getting on dating apps and apparently Cameron Dallas, his so called ‘best friend’ found me on Tinder and told Grayson that we matched so he’s been going on and on about it for about 30 minutes now.
“It would be nice if you weren’t being an absolute jerk right now.” I said with an irritated sigh.
“Y/N it’s not my fault you’re being stupid! Tinder is a HOOKUP app not a dating app! Gosh when did you become so stupid? And to swipe right on one of my friends?” Grayson laughs sarcastically. “I don’t even know why you’re on that stupid app.” He says tapping on his phone.
“It’s nice to talk to cute guys who also think I’m cute. I don’t know Gray. Why does it matter?” I was irritated at him so much right now. “Besides he swiped right on me and have you not seen his body? Like damn he’s so attractive. I’d call him daddy any day.” I smirked when I saw Grayson’s jaw clench from the corner of my eye.
“Well I just think it’s pretty fucking dumb Y/N. I thought you were just smarter than this.” He sighs which pisses me off.
“Well I don’t know why it bothers you so much. It’s not like we’re dating or anything. So stop bitching about it or go home.” I huffed and continued to swipe left. After a moment of silence Grayson gets up from his seat and walks over and sits next to me on the couch. “If you’re going to lecture me I–” before I could finish my sentence his lips crashed onto mine hard. He was pushing me until my back was pressed against the back of the couch. His hand cupped my face while I turned my body to face him which he then slowly pushes me down on my back and climbs on top of me, not breaking the kiss for a second. He slowly started to grind into my body which I grinded back. I clawed into his back while his arm was pinned holding him up.
I’ve wanted this for so long, but before the kiss could go any farther I pushed on Grayson’s hot chest which he slowly lets my lips go. He opened his eyes and looked into mine. We were both slightly panting from the intense make out session we just had.
“Umm.” He says before jumping off of my and standing to his feet quickly. “I’ll see you tomorrow yeah?” He then rushes out of the living room and walks straight out of the front door. I was still lying on the couch confused as to what just happened.
Me: Hey Gray…
Me: Hey can we talk about what happened the other day?
Grayson wasn’t answering my texts or calls. It has been three days since he kissed me and I haven’t heard from him at all. I wanted to avoid going to his apartment, but I really wanted to talk to him about the kiss. More like tell him my feelings and figure out if he feels the same way. I grabbed my sweatshirt and I decide to go over to Grayson’s place. I needed to talk to him right now. I walked down a few doors when I approach their door. 229B. I knocked on the door when I heard mild giggling then hushing. I knocked once more and a messy haired Grayson opens the door.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” He asks seemingly really confused.
“Can I come in?” I asked trying to peek in the door. Grayson moves his body to block my view of inside his apartment. I give him a confused look which he returns with a scowl.
“Ethan your friend is here!” Grayson hollers looking behind himself. He doesn’t even try to look at me again. He goes back in his apartment at which I noticed someone in there.
“Hey Y/N what’s up?” Ethan asks, but I stood frozen. Grayson was sitting on the couch with Sophie. He kissed her forehead which she started to giggle. I heard her ask him who I was.
“Some friend of Ethan’s.” He responds as he wraps his arm around her. I stood there in absolute shock. Now he’s not even saying we are friends or anything. Is he fucking serious right now?
“Hey Ethan can you come to my apartment tonight? I have a date and I need a guy’s opinion on what to wear.” I said at which Grayson turned his head towards me as Sophie tried to give him a kiss. “Yeah Cameron and I are going out tonight and I don’t know what to wear.” I said smirking.
“Yeah no problem!” Ethan exclaims as he shuts the door and we go back to my apartment. I fiddled with my keys attempting to unlock my door. “So you saw Sophie didn’t you?” Ethan’s words cut through me. I swallowed before turning the knob on my door. We walk inside and Ethan flips on the light. “Y/N talk to me. Look I know Gray has been acting weird, but–”
“No Ethan! No buts! Grayson doesn’t have feelings for me. He doesn’t like me or anything! We aren’t even friends anymore. Did he tell you what happened the other day? He made out with me. Yeah right on that fucking couch.” I groaned as the memories came flooding back. The way he pushed me on my back as he climbed on top of me. The way his body was in between my thighs. He kissed me just how I liked it and now he’s acting like nothing ever happened between us.
“No he didn’t!” Ethan exclaims and turns my body to face him. “That’s the one thing I hate about Gray. He does this shit to all the girls he has feelings for. It pisses me off that he does this to the greatest girl’s and he doesn’t even see it.” Ethan’s hands were gripping my shoulder tightly. I looked him in the eyes and noticed his jaw was clenched and his jaw tightened as he swallowed. I saw his eyes narrow to my lips then back to me. I knew what he was thinking and I wanted him to do it. I needed him to do it. I needed to get over Grayson. He doesn’t like me. He doesn’t have feelings for me. I need to get over him. “Y/N…” Ethan trails off as his lips inch closer to mine. His hand cups my chin as his lips gently brush against mine.
“Do it.” I whispered and his lips clashed to mine roughly. He pushes my body against the door as he continues kissing me. Damn he was a good kisser. Maybe even a better one than Grayson. His lips move from my lips to my neck at which I let out a small moan
“Ethan.” I moaned and his hands gripped my waist tightly. He continues to suck my neck harshly while his large hands pinned my waist against the wall. He reconnects his lips to mine as I kiss him back gripping his shoulders. My hand slips to the back of his head as my fingers tangle in his hair. I push him closer to me as I feel his body press harder into mine.
“Are you sure this is okay?” Ethan pants as he rests his forehead on mine before kissing my collarbone softly. This was more than okay. I was beyond thankful for this right now. I didn’t even think about Gray. All I wanted right now was Ethan. Ethan was always there for me and he put up with all my bullshit which he didn’t have to.
“I’ll show you.” I said pushing Ethan back. I take his hand and I lead Ethan down the hallway to my room. Ethan bites his bottom while he presses his forehead against mine. I peel his shirt off of him revealing his toned body. I softly press my lips to his as my hands run down his bare torso. His hand cups behind my ear as he presses his lips to mine harder. I lie down on my bed as Ethan follows.
“I don’t think it’s fair I’m the only one half naked.” Ethan giggles as I hold my arms up as he slides my shirt off and quickly following with a kiss.
He softly grinds into me and I know full what’s going to happen and I have no intention of stopping anything from happening. Ethan was better than Grayson in so many ways. Better kisser, gentler, and he gives me the attention I deserve. I feel his hand slid down and slightly grazes over my butt and he gives my body a push so I’m at a better angle for him to kiss me deeper as he grinds into my body. I grinded back as I pulled him down closer to me. I suddenly catch myself as I claw into his shoulder. Ethan’s hand swiftly unbuttons my jeans as he grinds harder. I feel his boner through his sweatpants. He takes my bottom lip in between his teeth and tugs gently.
“Ethan.” I moaned as I grinded back into him as his lips attached to my neck. He leaves a trail of kisses from my jaw to my collarbone and so on. I can feel little bruises being created from his kisses.
“Ethan?” We both stopped and looked at each other. “Y/N?” I quickly recognized the voice as Grayson’s.
“Just a second Gray!” I shouted as Ethan jumps off and looks on the floor for his shirt. I buttoned my jeans back and helped E look for his shirt.
“Actually I’m…” Grayson trails off when he sees Ethan and I. Ethan was midway putting his shirt on while I was still on the ground. “What the hell is this?!” Grayson blows up. “I can’t believe this! First you’re kissing me and then you’re kissing my brother all before you go on a date with Cameron? Wow Y/N.” Grayson then turns to Ethan. “And you! Letting her do this? I can’t believe the both of you.” Grayson throws his arms up in anger.
“Gray listen it–” He cuts Ethan off.
“No I won’t listen! This is such bullshit!” He shouts before leaving my room. I run after him.
“No you will listen! I’ve done nothing wrong! You said we were just friends so this is what just friends do! Don’t act all innocent, you kissed me remember?” I shouted. I was so frustrated right now to the point I just wanted to cry and keep screaming at him. Grayson slowly turns towards me. He was by the front door as his hand was ready to turn the knob.
“Obviously it was to make you feel better. Remember you’re not even my type. I like a woman with class and that’s not you. And you should have known we were never just friends.” Grayson looks up at me with an angry scowl. I gulped as I waited for what he was going to say next. “We were never even friends. You and Ethan are friends and I guess something more.” Grayson words feel like a thousand knives had just been stabbed into my back. “You were right about one thing Y/N.” Grayson opens the door as he just about walks out.
“And what’s that?” I choked out, but tried not to cry. He smirks and looks back to me.
“I did kiss you the other day. Want to know why?” I knew he was going to hurt me. He licks his lips and chuckles. “I was hoping I could get some, but when you pushed me away I knew for a fact you weren’t my type. You weren’t worth it anymore.” I cover my face with my hands. I didn’t want Grayson to see me cry.
“Dude leave!” I heard Ethan shout down the hall as he runs to the living room.
“Gladly.” Grayson says as he slams my door shut. I feel Ethan pull me into a hug which I just cried into his shirt.
SIMON MINTER IMAGINE- 6 YEARS TOO MANY
Part 1
—-
I’m in love with Simon but recently things changed. Not with me, with him. He’s still the same gamer who stays up all night editing and playing games, but now he’s cold and quiet. Too quiet and I’m no longer having to shout at him to be quiet so I can sleep because he’s already in bed and turned towards the wall.
He’s distanced himself.
But then he snapped back and I didn’t know how to react. I was happy to see him being back to himself but I didn’t know how to feel because I still wasn’t close to him.
“Si I’m getting up really early tomorrow.” I whisper as I stand in the doorway to the bathroom in only a sleep shirt and my pants.
“Okay.”
“I mean I’m getting up early and wanted to know if you would join me?”
“I don’t know. I mean I have to edit and won’t be in bed for about another three hours.”
“Okay well I don’t wanna interrupt so I’m gonna go stay in the guest room. Night Si.” I walk over to the bed and grab my phone and pillow.
“I’ll see you tomorrow.” He calls after me and feel nauseous as the words leave his mouth. No affection or emotion.
Just apathy.
“So why on earth is there a suitcase, a girly one thats yours, by the door downstairs?”
“JJ not now.” I whisper as he follows me into the other room.
“No we’re doing this now because you’re dating Simon and he didn’t say you were leaving.”
“Cause he doesn’t know. I’m going to go stay with some friends in Brighton. I just want to be by the beach. He’ll figure out soon enough.”
“Why don’t you just tell him?”
“Because have you seen him? He doesn’t kiss me anymore and he doesn’t touch me. He doesn’t act like he’s mine JJ. He’s been like this since the New Years party and I’m trying but I can’t keep grasping onto the little bit he gives me. I told him I’d be in the guest room and he just said okay see you tomorrow.”
“Jide, I know you know. I know that you know the girl he’s been seeing and it’s nice that you’re trying to salvage my relationship, but he’s bored of me. Six years too many.”
Six years and he was bored. How could I mix it up like that new girl could? Simon and I were old news and nobody wants old news after a certain point.
“My stuff is all out of here and I have more of my suitcases in the car. So when I’m gone tomorrow morning don’t say anything. Please.”
“No that’s not what you’re doing.”
“JJ I’ve known you and Simon for years. We’ve been the best of friends for years and maybe it’s just time Simon and I aren’t. Just please do me a favor and please don’t tell him what I’m up to. I already blocked him on social media and I’m changing my number. I just need time and I have none when I’m constantly worrying about what he’s doing. You kept his secret so please repay me by keeping mine.”
“If that’s what you want.”
“It’s what I need.”
____\\____
I soon put the pieces together when I had time to myself. Simon because distant and quiet when it first happened. He was guilty and he felt bad for now liking someone else. Then he stopped feeling guilty and I think that’s when I needed to go. And that’s why I did go. That’s why I’m in Brighton in my own flat near my friends who support me and make me feel wanted.
But all good things must come to an end.
“You know JJ can’t keep a secret.”
Words like knives.
“He kept yours for pretty long. Probably wouldn’t have told me if I didn’t figure it out myself.” I uncross my arms over my chest while hastily going to walk away.
“Karen can you handle the store if I head home for the day.” I shout to the back of the cafe and she nods.
Who the fuck let him come down to my place of work.
“Simon I’m not gonna spend my time talking to you so walk and talk. I have other places to be and other people to see.” I motion for him to get on with it once I have my keys and bag.
“You left without notice.”
“And you cheated on me and then continued seeing her.” I snap and he looks shocked.
“Six years of dating. I was waiting for the ring Simon. I was the idiot thinking soon you’d propose to me and boy was I wrong. Simon I’ve known you for years and been by your side for so long and you cheated on me. You didn’t even just do it once, you kept seeing her and you thought I wouldn’t know or that our friend wouldn’t tell me. You had your mates keeping it a secret. That’s low Simon. Now I go home and my parents ask where you are? I tell them that you can’t make it because if I told them we were over I don’t know if I’d be able to see their faces. They’d ask questions and I’d have to tell them that you cheated on me. So instead I lie and I tell them that you’re busy with work and can’t wait to see them.”
“Simon I waited thinking you’d propose to me this year. That after New Years we’d be engaged but instead I’m single. But you’re not because you cheated and decided to still see that home wrecker. The bitch who stayed with you and slept with you knowing you had a devoted girlfriend of six years at home waiting for you. I’m sorry but I’m sick of waiting for you. So go Simon, you got to see what you wanted. You saw the girl fawning over you and begging for you to have just been better. However I’m done being that for you because I’m happier now than I was with you because now I don’t have to worry if my famous boyfriend is gonna go fuck another girl.” I finally silence myself after putting on quite the show for the people of Brighton.
“And tell JJ that he could’ve kept his mouth shut. That I didn’t need this because I was just settling in to my new home.”
“I’m sorry.”
“You’re not sorry Simon. You’re just sorry you got caught. There’s a difference.”
“And Gia or whatever her name is can have you because I guess she had something you wanted that I didn’t have.”
“She wasn’t looking for a ring. That’s what she had.”
“Oh so after six years you don’t think she’ll also want one? She will and I’m assuming she’ll want a much bigger one and one much sooner. All I wanted was the confirmation that you did love me and that you did want to have a family with me. That’s what the ring meant for me. It meant confirming those six years and confirming that we’d be together forever. You just couldn’t do that. Now you’re here and I don’t know why.” I take a huge breath while holding my hands at my side.
“Just… Why are you here Simon?” I ask as tears start to well up.
“I don’t know. Everyone is asking for you. You stopped social media and changed your number. The only person who knew where you were, was JJ and everyone wanted to know where you where.”
“But did you?” I ask and he looks down while avoiding eye contact.
“I don’t know why I’m here. Just forget that I came here.”
“No I want to know why you’re here? Six years together Simon. Why are you here?”
“She’s pregnant and I don’t know what to do. With every issue that came up, I came to you and I’m used to going to you. I’m panicking. I can’t be a dad. I can’t, especially now.”
And that’s when it stopped.
The world stopped when he said she was pregnant.
“Simon I’m sorry I can’t help you with that. You want your ex girlfriend to help you become a dad? When you were supposed to be my husband and the father of my kids?”
—————————————————
It was 1.30am when you got to the 24 hour diner after Lin had texted you directions. You stopped just outside the door. Inside you could see the back of what might be Lin’s head and you hesitated. What were you doing here? Catching a cab in the early hours of Christmas eve morning to meet a stranger you’d sent messages to for 2 days? This wasn’t like you. You weren’t impulsive and brave. You were cautious and shy. You were the kind of person in bed by 10pm (when you weren’t plagued with insomnia), you were the kind of person who flossed daily, and flaked out on plans to stay home and write. And you were also the kind of person to be in a long term relationship with the love of your life only to be dumped at a moment’s notice for someone else. Ok so maybe this wasn’t your usual behavior, but maybe it should be.
The instant warmth of the diner brought a flush to your cheeks as you headed inside, and approached Lin, who was nervously scrolling through his phone.
“Hi!” you said, far too brightly, trying to appear confident, as though this was the kind of thing you did all the time. Lin instantly turned his head, a warm smile spreading across his face.
“Hey you came!”
He stood up to meet you, absentmindedly flattening down his hair, grinning.
You almost reached out to shake his hand before realizing how utterly formal and ridiculous that would be. You were suddenly very aware of your posture, your arms, the way you were standing, and you weirdly felt clunky and awkward and self conscious. Luckily Lin didn’t seem struck with the same sense of awkwardness as you, and he leaned in to hug you, kissing you quickly on the cheek.  His soft navy blue jumper smelled faintly of christmas cookies.
You sat down in the booth opposite him and removed your scarf and gloves, as you frantically wished your nerves away. He smiled, looking down at his cup, and biting his lip, then bringing his eyes back up to meet yours. The way he looked at you… You felt a shiver run down your spine. Could you just skip the getting to know you conversations and move straight to biting his lip for him?
“Hey so I’ve got something for you!” Lin said brightly, placing a brown paper bag in front of you, grinning.
You hesitantly peered inside and then laughed.
“You actually brought me empanadas?”
“Of course! I didn’t want to lure you out after midnight with the promise of empanadas and then not actually provide empanadas. I’m not a monster!” He took a sip of his coffee and peered at your over the cup.
You smiled.
“Well thank you, you are so sweet! I mean, this is sweet… ” you said, cringing at the words as they tumbled out of your mouth.
“Ok, I’m sorry” you said laughing. “I’ve gonna be straight up and just admit I am the worst at flirting. I don’t usually do this” you said while gesturing at him.
Lin laughed. “Ok well this” he said, mirroring your gesture, “is just coffee. It’s just coffee, in the early hours of a morning with a total stranger who hasn’t been able to stop thinking about you. But seriously, it’s just coffee, it doesn’t have to mean anything bad.”
As if by magic, the lone waitress appeared at your table, placing a cup of coffee in front of you, and re-filling Lin’s empty cup without a word. There was a silent understanding that anyone entering the diner at 1.30am on christmas eve must be in need of coffee. She left you both to it and you clutched the cup in front of you, grateful to have something to fidget with.
“Is this weird?” You asked.
Sending texts off into the ether and having a crush on someone from the safety of your own home was fine enough, but the reality of the situation had begun so settle.
“I mean, is it weird, meeting like this so quickly? You don’t know me, and I don’t know you.”
Lin sensed your unease and leaned forward, his eyes soft and reassuring.
“Hey I just really liked talking to you, there’s no pressure ok? I know my constant barrage of texts today might have felt a bit too much.”
“Are you kidding? I felt like I was annoying you with all my  messages!”
He leaned back and grinned
“Ok good! So we’re both around the same level of annoyingness. That’s good to know. But honestly, it doesn’t feel weird.” He said, shrugging. “I couldn’t sleep, you couldn’t sleep, you’ve inadvertently spoiled Gilmore Girls for me, what else were we gonna do?”
You laughed, watching him get animated and gesturing wildly about Gilmore Girls at 1.30am was positively endearing.
“Also you sounded sad, I was worried. I really just wanted to see you.” He said, his fingers circling the top of his coffee mug.
“Wait, so you mean this isn’t just a sleazy tinder hook up?”
Lin winced, “Sleazy? Well technically we aren’t on tinder anymore, and what’s so sleazy about it if we were?” And there he went, biting his lip again. You couldn’t tell if it was a nervous habit or if he subliminally knew that watching him bite his lip stirred deep flickering waves in your stomach.
You stared at him, studying his face. His whole face, not just his lips this time.
“Ok I gotta ask because this is really bugging me now, where do I know you from? Did you go to Palmer’s High?”
He smiled awkwardly and looked down at his coffee.
“Sorry, not me.”
“Is it the Union library, did you used to work weekends?”
He shook his head looking embarrassed and cleared his throat.
“I’m Lin-Manuel Miranda” He said, squirming in his seat, his eyes still staring at his coffee cup before looking up at you expectantly.
You mouthed the name to yourself, testing the words out on your tongue, until you stopped in your tracks. You stared at him, blinking incredulously.
“Fuck off!” you exclaimed without thinking, before covering your mouth with your hand.
”Sorry, sorry sorry! I didn’t mean that! It’s just… oh god I feel like an idiot!” You took a breath and looked at him again.
“Well… ok then…hello Lin-Manuel Miranda!”
“Hi!” Lin smiled sheepishly. “And you don’t have to say the full name each time by the way.”
You laughed, shaking your head as your evening elevated to new surreal heights.
“You know you really should have prepared me for this in one of your many messages today” you said.
Lin leaned back “You didn’t seem to recognize me from my name or any photos I sent and honestly that was just kind of nice so I guess, yeah I didn’t say anything. Anyway, shall we move on?”
You nodded, smiling.
And you did move on.
You talked about break ups, about writing,about families, about the first single you ever bought.
“Roxanne Shante? No way! ” Lin exclaimed in surprise, clutching his hands to his chest.
“What can I say, I had a ridiculously cooler older brother who used to take my to this second hand vinyl store and practically forced records into my hands.”
“Ok well, let’s hear it for cooler older siblings everywhere” Lin chuckled while raising his coffee mug in the air. You smiled and joined him, clinking your mug with his.
“Wait, wait, wait!” Lin’s voice dropped an octave and he placed his hands on the table looking deadly serious.
“Can we please geek out about Roxanne’s beef with KRS-One?”
You shook your head and laughed.
“Oh no, you best not be dragging Roxanne?” You said, pursing your lips in mock rage.
“What? No way!” Lin practically spluttered. “Roxanne’s Revenge is UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE!”
You turned your head to see the waitress tutting, peering over the counter and rolling her eyes at the overexcitable pottymouth Lin. You looked back at Lin who giggled like a naughty kid, flashing you an embarrassed smile.
You talked about favorite places to write (his: while walking his dog, yours: while on the subway), you talked about the paralysis you feel when you experience mindblowing art, and you both talked about the frustrations of having obsessive personalities, of not knowing what it’s like to just like something a normal amount.
“So you’re telling me that there’s this painting, sorry, not just a painting,this life altering painting that means the world to you. In fact it means so much to you that someday you want to write a book about it. But you’ve never actually even seen it in person, never got to look at it up close?”
You nodded as Lin shook his head, staring at you in disbelief.
“Well for a start the painting is permanently housed in Barcelona,” you explained “ it’s never exhibited outside of Europe, and I’m not exactly made of money. But I’ll see it one day.” You said wistfully before catching yourself, feeling embarrassed.
“Sorry, I swear I don’t usually just ramble on about art for 20 minutes at a total stranger.”
“Are you kidding, you’ve just listened to me talk about the intricacies of Sondheim for way longer than is considered polite. I live for this stuff, this is the kind of thing that keeps me up at night. If you can’t be obsessed over things then what’s the point?”
“Well I guess you have kind of made a career out of it” you smiled.
“It’s not about that’” He saved waving his hand, “ It’s about the obsessions. The ideas and things you love that won’t leave you alone. Those are the ideas worth having.”
You smiled nervously, you’d never met anyone who got it. Even Kay had dismissed your love of art as something that was frivolous and pretentious. You barely knew this guy, and he got it.
“You need to see this painting.” Lin said, his face deadly serious. “Honestly, I feel like I need to see this painting now.”
You laughed
“Promise me you’ll see it.”
“Well not right now, but sure, that’s the plan.“ you said
This didn’t feel like the awkward conversations of first dates you’d remembered. Everything felt familiar, he was easy to talk to, although every now and then you’d catch yourself. You’d find yourself staring longingly at his lips mid-conversation, your stomach fizzing with pangs of excitement, reminding you that you ought to feel nervous. He made you feel nervous and comfortable all at the same time. Was there a word for that?
Until It was 4 am and you realized his hand was resting gently on yours, his thumb softly stroking yours.  His touch was so light as he continued to speak. You tried so damned hard to listen to him but his touch made it hard to concentrate. This wasn’t just coffee. Couldn’t you just be kissing him now?
“So I guess the bad news is that I’m going back to London next week. “ He said, sighing while looking down at his thumb, watching it tracing patterns against your skin.
His words shook you out of your haze and you quickly looked up at him.
“We start filming again in the new year and I’m kind of living there at the moment. Hence the jetlag.”
“Oh” You said. Not knowing what to say.
You had no right to feel disappointed. This was just coffee, you didn’t even know what this was, or if you even wanted anything beyond coffee at the moment, that all seemed to heavy and big to deal with. But you also hated the idea of a ticking clock looming large on the horizon.
“So are you saying this is a sleazy tinder hookup?” you laughed nervously.
“No,no,no, I just mean…I just mean I like you. I like talking to you. And I guess I just wanted to be upfront. But I also want to see you again. Unless you don’t want to.”
He looked up at you, biting his goddamn lip again and your words caught in your throat.
“I want to.” you said shakily and he smiled.
“Good” He said grinning.
“Although maybe next time it can be at a more sensible hour.” Your eyelids suddenly feeling very heavy.
Lin stretched out and let out a yawn and groaned.
“I’m supposed to be saying insanely clever and articulate things in an interview in a few hours” He said, looking at his watch and laughing. “I’m gonna pay for this later on. But it was worth it.” His eyes twinkled and the way he looked at you made you blush.
You gathered your scarf and gloves as Lin went to the counter to pay for the endless supply of coffee, dropping in an extra tip by way of an apology for how loud you’d both been. He held the door open for you, placing his hand against the small of your back to guide you out, and you shivered from the cold and his touch.
“Can I see you again? Soon?” He asked eagerly,as you stepped out onto the sidewalk, his eyes pleading.
“I’d really like that.” you breathed, suddenly forgetting how to speak.
The last 3 hours had passed in a whirlwind of surprisingly easy conversation, but now you felt the words stutter at the back of your throat as nerves took over, and shyness seeped through you. You wanted to break the silence, your brain whirred as you tried to think of something to say. Something clever, something funny, something to make him want you. Instead you just blurted: “It’s so cold!”
You shivered and he put his hands on your arms, rubbing them to warm you up.
“Let’s get you warm” he said in a low hushed tone.
He took the scarf you were holding in your hands and looped it around your neck, stepping forward so that his face was just inches away from yours and you could feel his breath as you shivered. He glanced up, his eyes locking with yours, and his mouth hung slightly open as he looked at you longingly. Before you could even think, before you could even speak, before you could even breathe he was pulling the ends of your scarf towards him, pulling your face close until his lips were on yours.
His slips were soft, slow, and longing. His top lip grazed against yours, sending shockwaves across your body. You trembled as he held onto your scarf, his kisses growing more urgent as he pushed against you, pressing your back against the outside wall of the diner. His nose squished softly against your cheek as his lips darted across yours. You trembled and cupped his face with your hands, kissing him hungrily, pushing your hands back in his hair, and his own hands fell down to your waist, gripping you tightly, pulling your body tight against his.
Your hands fell to his shoulders as you both broke away for air. His hands stayed firmly on your waist, and his mouth hung open as he gazed at you You felt drunk from the lack of sleep and from his kisses.
“You know I don’t have to be anywhere for a few hours if you wanted to come back and just…sleep.” He whispered, his lips hovering over yours. You groaned softly.
“As much as I would love to …sleep. I don’t think that’s a good idea right now. I mean I should probably get home and actually sleep in my own bed.”
Lin inhaled deeply and nodded wearily. He leaned forward, gently cupping your cheek. He kissed you quickly, leaving your lips tingling in anticipation, before softly kissing your nose then your forehead.  His hands still held your waist, and your skin felt electric, aware of every slight touch.
“You are so very sensible.” He smiled.
“Wait, what the actual fuck?” Melissa screamed in your ear.
“I’m away for 2 weeks and you went on a date with Lin-Manuel Miranda? Are you messing with me?”
You sighed. “For the last time, I’m not messing with you. This all really happened.”
Melissa’s jaw hung open, her eyes were wild as you filled her in on the surreal events of the last 2 weeks. You told her about the accidental catfishing, the many many messages, the first date at 1.30am on Christmas eve, the second date the day after Christmas. And the dates which then followed. Melissa had sat on your couch, open mouthed, struggling to keep up. The absurdity of the entire situation was not lost on you.
From that first kiss at the diner on Christmas eve morning you’d thought of nothing else but kissing him again. As soon as you’d headed back to your apartment to finally sleep, you’d instantly regretted not going back with Lin. You closed your eyes replaying the kiss a thousand times in your head, longing for his lips again, wanting to feel his skin, and daydreaming of his touch. You wondered what it would be like to wake up next to him but then felt foolish, shaking the image from your head, knowing that whatever was happening between you, was bound to end as soon as he headed back to London. You’d laid in bed cursing yourself as your phone vibrated. A sleepy selfie of Lin popped up on your screen with a message:
Lin: Wish you were here zzzzz
Then Christmas day hit and you were alone. You didn’t exactly regret your choice of not visiting your Trump supporting parents for christmas. Their homophobic tendencies meant they had never really approved of Kay in the 5 years you’d been together. They had made it clear in previous years that you weren’t welcome home for the holidays if Kay accompanied you. But now with Kay gone your mom had suddenly reached out to you inviting you back for the holidays as though nothing had ever happened..
So naturally you opted for your first christmas alone, eating froot loops while watching Elf, and spending the rest of the day writing. It was the same as any other day really, although the holidays were naturally designed to make the recently dumped feel lonely. And at least for the last few days you’d had Lin to distract you, but today as Lin was caught up in family duties, you found yourself looking back over old photographs of Kay, brooding over nostalgia. But even without Lin to distract you, you found yourself wallowing less. Sure, it hurt to look back, but you didn’t cry this time, you didn’t feel that heart-wrenching ache that had consumed you for the last few weeks. It was just a dull manageable ache, and you felt reassured that maybe this was a sign that you were moving on. You already felt lighter, less miserable, and you felt nervous anticipation as Lin messaged you that evening asking you on a date the very next day.
“Second date? Please please please tell me you went home with him this time!” Melissa begged, popping the candy she’d brought you as a gift into her mouth, her face rapt with attention.
“Um, not exactly” You said.
“WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?” Melissa yelled, throwing a piece of candy at you.
“I mean we never made it to his.” You said, throwing the piece of candy back at her.  “We never really made it out at all”
“OHHHH.” Melissa said, her mouth falling open.
You’d invited him into your apartment for just a minute before you were due to head out for your official second date. You had dinner reservations, and and a schedule to stick to, and you were already running late as you rummaged around your room for your missing earring.
“Found it! Sorry, that took forever. Ready to go?” You said as you finally emerged from the bedroom.
Lin jumped up from the couch where he’d been patiently waiting,.
“Sure!”
He turned to face you, his eyes lingered on your lips, before raising his eyes to meet yours. His mouth hung open and the corners of his lips curled  into a smile.
“You are beautiful” he said in a low hushed voice.
The way he breathed as he spoke gave you goosebumps. The way he looked at you now made you feel naked. You swallowed nervously, and then in an instant  his mouth was on yours
His kisses this time were quick, deep, and hungry, not the soft slow sleepy kisses from Christmas eve. His lips pressed urgently against yours and you gasped as his hand reached around you, holding you in place at the small of your back, pulling you closer while he kissed you. His other hand cupped the back of your head, his fingers clutching at your hair as his lips rapidly pressed against yours. You gripped his shoulders and his body pressed tightly against you. He broke away from your lips,  planting small butterfly kisses across your cheek, down to your ear lobe, and across your neck.
“We’re late, we really should get going” you said in between ragged breaths.
You gasped as he found the spot on your neck which made you weak, and you reached out, tugging his hair, urgently pulling his lips back to yours. You gently bit his bottom lip, and a soft small groan escaped his lips. You pulled away.
“Bedroom…. Now.” You breathed.
Melissa’s mouth hung open in anticipation.
“Don’t you DARE leave me hanging as it’s getting to the good bit!” screeched Melissa
You shrugged.
“We just never made it to dinner that night.” You smiled coyly.  Melissa threw down the bag of candy in annoyance.
“Ok. Fine.. So what next. I mean, was this just a hook up thing or what?  I thought you said you were dating him?”
You nodded.
“It’s complicated.”
Melissa rolled her eyes.
The rest of Lin’s time in New York seemed to go so fast and you knew in a matter of days he’d be going back to London. Over the course of the next week  you saw each other as much as possible, although you never once discussed what would happen when he left. The next day he’d arranged to meet you in the park while walking his dog, Tobi in between work appointments and family plans. It was freezing cold, but you happily sat on a park bench, hands wrapped tight around a cup of hot chocolate as Lin talked animatedly about his disastrous dance rehearsals for Mary Poppins. You were both completely unaware that two hours had passed until Tobi had started pining for home.
The next day he’d invited you over to his apartment, which was empty and unused while based in London. You spotted a postcard on top of the piano in the corner.
“Hey this is my painting!” You exclaimed
“Wow, I didn’t know you could paint!” He smirked and you jabbed him gently with your elbow.
“I mean, this is the Miro painting I was babbling on about, why do you have this?”
“I wanted to see what you see.  I grabbed it from the MoMA gift shop yesterday after my meeting.”
You were stunned as he grabbed the postcard from you turning it over.
“But it’s so small.” he said “Look, it says on the back that the real thing is huge! You need to see it!” You looked at him overwhelmed, unable to speak, and he shot you a quizzical look.
“What? Did I do something wrong?”
You shook your head, biting your lip.
“Sorry, I’ll stop going on about how you need to see this painting.” He said, looking embarrassed.
“Kiss me” you said.
On New Year’s eve he had plans with his family and you had plans to see friends so you decided to arrange to see each other New Year’s Day instead. You met back at the same diner, cradling cups of coffee just like before. Lin slumped forward in his chair, his eyes were bleary and his dark stubble indicated he was feeling hungover.
“So I take it you had a good night then?” you smiled.
“I think so.” He said rubbing his eyes and smiling softly. “ I remember teaching salsa to my nephews, then the grownups brought out the tequila. Then I’m a liiiittle hazy on the rest of the night.” He looked up at you with tired eyes.
”I missed you though.”
You smiled and then winced. He was leaving for London in 2 days and you still hadn’t addressed what might happen next, if anything.
“So I guess, I’m not gonna see you now.” You said, using your best nonchalant voice while fidgeting with the mug in front of you.
Lin pushed back his hair nervously.
“Well I’ve got press and family stuff all day tomorrow, then the day after I fly back to London in the morning”
You nodded slowly, not knowing what to say.
Lin opened his mouth to speak, you could see him carefully considering his words.
“I don’t want this to end” he said in a hushed tone.
You glanced up, raising your eyebrows in confusion.
“Am I wrong? I feel a little crazy saying this, but this week has been… I just don’t want this to end.” he said again, biting his lip nervously.
You nodded silently.
“I like you”. He said, placing his hand over yours.
You swallowed, trying to make sense of this.
“This feels… a little fast.” you admitted. “I like you too. It’s just confusing and I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do. I mean you live in London.”
Lin began to stroke your hand reassuringly.
“I live there temporarily. I’m back here nearly every month, and I’ll be back here permanently in a little while.”
You let out an exasperated sigh.
“It’s not just that. You live in London, and I’m just coming out of a 5 year relationship, I don’t know if I’m exactly making good choices right now and I don’t want to mess things up.”
“So… what do we do?” Lin asked, his eyes pleading.
You shook your head, not knowing what to say, and pulled away from his hand.
“I don’t know.”
“Oh hun I’m so sorry” Melissa said, picking up the bag of candy and offering it to you in pity. “It sucks it had to end like that. I’ve got to say I think you made the right decision though. Long-distance relationships never work out. Trust me on that.”
You sighed and took the candy from her, popping it in your mouth nodding.
“I didn’t say we ended it.” you said quietly.
Melissa’s raised her eyebrows in confusion.
“What? But he’s back in London now! Plus you just got dumped!  How is this even a thing?”
You shrugged.
“Look, I know I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. This feels reckless and a bit naive and after Kay all I wanted to do was crawl back into bed and never come out. But look at me now, I feel like living again, and I feel like being impulsive. I can’t explain it!”
“Ok, ok that’s great, that’s fine and all, and believe me I want you to be happy,” she said, placing her hand on your shoulder. “But I mean, logistically how are you going to do this? You know, beyond skype and pining for someone a million miles away?”
“Well for a start, he kind of-sort of-maybe invited me to London.”
Melissa shook her head laughing,
“Next week.”
Melissa stopped laughing.
“Oh sure, because an author who lives off froot loops and ramen and who can barely afford rent since their ex-girlfriend moved out can totally afford a last minute trip to London!?”
“Lin booked a ticket for me.” You said quietly.
“What?” Melissa blinked in disbelief.
“I know, I know! Look, I didn’t ask him for it, he offered, and I refused and he persisted. He’s kind of annoying like that.”
“This is unreal! You couldn’t even accept money from me when I tried to pay for your metrocard last month.” Melissa laughed, holding her head in her hands.
“I know this is nuts. And believe me I’m going to pay him back. I just feel….happy. Well happier than I have been. I’ve been drowning for the last month, and now there’s this thing which is making me feel more like myself again, this crazy ridiculous thing. I’d regret it so much if I didn’t at least give this a go and see what happens.”
Melissa shot you a look and then rolled her eyes.
“Ok ok, I don’t mean to be so negative. I’m just cautious. I don’t want to see you hurt again.”
“Me neither. “ You said earnestly.
“You sure you know what you’re doing?”Melissa asked you.
“Absolutely! And it’s terrifying.”
Melissa chuckled and squeezed your shoulder.
“Also, can I borrow your suitcase?”
You knew this was surreal. You knew this was out of character for you, but you felt like you’d already crossed some kind of line just by turning up to a diner at 1.30am to meet a perfect stranger 2 weeks ago. This was just the next natural step in your new surreal life. As you stared out of the window of the plane waiting for takeoff you felt a nervous pang of anxiety, your fear of flying mixing with the fear of the unknown. You checked your phone out of habit.
Lin: I get to see you in a few hours, how amazing is that!
Lin: I hope you are a fan of terrible British accents btw because that’s how I speak now
Lin: Hurry up plane, why aren’t you here yet? I’m sad that apparition and port keys don’t actually exist.
You chuckled to yourself and the waves of anxiety turned into pangs of excitement knowing you’d get to see Lin in just a few hours. You began typing out a reply as your phone buzzed again with another message. This time not from Lin.
Kay: Can you call me? We need to talk. I think I made a mistake and I need to see you.
You stared at the words on your phone as though in slow motion. You re-read the message over and over until your eyes started to blur and you began to breathe sharp ragged breaths.
“Miss? Miss? We’re asking everyone to turn off their mobile devices for take off.”
The flight attendant’s voice echoed in your ears and you fumbled with your phone, your fingers shook as you switched it off. With one message you felt yourself tumbling down that black hole again. An announcement over the tannoy let you know that the plane was ready to depart, and you fastened your seatbelt ready for take off
Part 3 is here
Pride Month Writing Prompts 1/30: Storm
Fandom: Dear Evan Hansen
Relationship: Tree Bros
Notes:
I wrote this at 2 in the morning. Idk. It might really suck. But I enjoyed writing it. I just decided to go with the “realizing you have gay feelings” kind of deal. Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: Storm
Evan didn’t like storms. Plain and simple.
It wasn’t like he was afraid of them, like he was as a kid, but he preferred not being in one. He preferred sitting in his room listening to some soft music or nature sounds.
But when Connor shoots up a text, which he never does. Usually it’s Evan who has to do so, but that takes a couple minutes of preparation for him (it was a lot worse the first time though). Saying that he needed someone to talk to, Evan knew he had to go.
His mom was at work late, so he didn’t have the car. So all he had was his jacket and an umbrella, he texted Connor telling him that he was on his way. And the reply, Evan knew it would be worth going out to the storm for.
‘thanks… ill be waiting.’
Evan was glad for the invention of ear buds, because he didn’t know for sure if he would’ve been able to survive the whole 20 minute walk to Connor’s house. There was a couple of times where the thunder was so loud that it would cut into Evan’s music, making him jump. And walk slightly faster.
And he was almost ¾ths of the way when his umbrella seemed to be cheaper than Evan thought, breaking when a huge gust of wind blew past. Evan quickly shut the umbrella and ran the rest of the way to Connor’s house.
When Evan got there, he pulled out his phone to stop the music as he pulled out his earbuds. He was already on the porch when he saw that Connor’s family’s cars were gone. But he knew that Connor would appreciate if he asked if it was okay for him to go through the front door.
Connor’s family didn’t really know about Evan. Expect maybe Zoe who probably could see them whenever they talked at school. But it was mostly because Connor didn’t like his family. Didn’t want to show off Evan to his family just to be on their good side. Because Connor knew that’s all it would take, Connor had explained.
But Connor felt cheated by this and thus kept their friendship from his family. He even had a different email to message Evan with, Connor told Evan that he knew his parents did checks on him. Even if they tried to be secretive about it. And Connor just did the secrecy to just kinda piss his parents off whenever they would find out about it.
Now Evan and Connor had been friends for quite awhile. Evan could name off several events that could’ve started their (at first) awkward friendship. All ranging different amount of weeks or months or about a year. But somehow Connor had become someone he could open up to and someone that Evan trusted. And he hoped Connor felt the same way.
All the thoughts of Connor stopped when got a reply from Connor.
'yeah the front door is fine’
'please come in’
Evan didn’t need anymore prompting as he opened the door quietly and was about to set his umbrella down when he thought better. He closed the door and silently went up the stairs to Connor’s room.
Connor’s door was already slightly opened which was odd considering that Connor normally would have door closed and locked. He must’ve unlocked it for Evan. Which Evan smiled at the thought.
He opened the door to be greeted with the familiar look and smell of Connor’s room. It smelled lightly of smoke but had a hint of febreze that Evan guessed Connor’s mom might have used while Connor was at school.
The room itself wasn’t dirty, nor completely tidy. Not a lot of things were on the ground but a desk that was in the corner was pull of paper sketches and a couple of books. A small stand that held all of Connor’s CDs and a couple of Vinyls that were unorganized and some were even stacked on the floor. The walls had a couple of posters that Evan wouldn’t have recognized before knowing Connor, and a lot of them were slanted or torn in one way or another. A guitar in the corner that Connor hadn’t said if he actually played or not. While the sliding doors to Connor’s closet were closed, Evan could always bet that he had boxes of old stuff Connor could never part with and that some clothes would be on the floor. And Connor’s bed was unmade and if you lifted up the blanket you could see about 20 small piles of books under Connor’s bed that Connor had stolen from libraries or from his unknowing family.
Seated at the corner of the bed was Connor, he was leaned against the corner of the wall. His knees were pulled against him and he hugged his legs. Connor wore a big black hoodie and worn out black jeans, he wasn’t wearing shoes but mismatched white and purple socks were in his feet.
As Evan walked in the room, Connor didn’t seem to notice his appearance. He was staring at the wall in front of him and looked like he was loathing. Evan then noticed that Connor had his own earbuds on.
Evan leaned next to Connor and pulled out one of Connor’s earbuds. Connor almost jumped when it happened and looked at Evan with anger.
It only lasted a second, maybe half a second. But Evan didn’t like when Connor was angry. His blue eyes would matched the storm that was going on outside and looked hateful. His nose scrunch up and his mouth would open as if to immediately say the first thing that came to his mind.
But then that half second was over and was replaced with the mirror of shock that Evan currently had. Connor then looked distressed and almost mad at himself before burying himself in his knees.
Evan took a deep breath, he then felt mad at himself. He shouldn’t be scared of Connor, he wouldn’t hurt him. Why did he have to mess everything up? But as Evan looked again to Connor who still had one of his earbuds in, he hadn’t moved his head from his knees and Evan’s worry overcame his own self-loathing.
Evan climbed into the bed, sitting right next to Connor. As soon as he was comfortable, he reached over and pulled the other earbud out of Connor’s ear. Connor turned his head a little to look up at Evan.
“Y-you can’t- I mean! shouldn’t. Shouldn’t isolate y-yourself when you f-feel like this.” Evan managed to say. He was worried that he said it too quietly. But Connor then lifted his head more and nodded. Evan sighed of relief.
“Mm Sorry.” Connor mumbled.
“N-no! I-it was my f-fault.” Evan said immediately, lifting his hands up. “I-I shouldn’t have j-just tak- pulled the e-earbud a-away. I’m sorry.”
Connor sighed, “But I still… scared you.” He said.
“A-a lot of s-stuff does. I-it’s not y-your fault.” Evan said, holding himself.
“But still!” Connor interjected, turning more to face Evan. “I-I’ve been trying to be better about it. Getting mad.”
“C-Connor. S-sometimes these type of t-things are out of control. I-I know that y-your d-dad…” Connor’s eyes then grew tense at the mention, “d-d-doesn’t think that y-you need help. B-but you do. P-professional h-help. Like me.” Evan placed a hand on Connor’s shoulder. Connor looked into Evan’s eyes. Evan could see the broken parts of Connor now, the stuff that he kept locked away that no one could see. And he knew Connor could see his as well.
Evan wasn’t sure about physical contact, but they both somehow knew that they needed it. Both reaching for each other. Evan wrapped his arms around Connor’s waist, which Evan felt that it was a lot thinner then it should be. Connor wrapping his arms around his neck and pulling him close.
Connor smelled of smoke, mostly. But Evan could also smell the trees and the orchards they would take frequent trips to. And a small hint of vanilla. It was… comforting and almost familiar.
“Why are you wet?” Connor asked. Not moving his arms.
“Don’t you know?” Evan almost mumbled. “I-it’s raining pretty bad o-outside.” Evan said pulling his face a little from the comfort place of Connor’s shoulder to talk more clearly.
“Did you fucking walk in a storm just to get here?” Connor asked.
“Well, I h-had an umbrella. But i-it was a p-pretty cheap one.” Evan defended.
Connor sighed, “You are probably gonna get sick. You could’ve just told me, I know you don’t like storms.”
“I-I know. But I-I couldn’t j-just…” Evan paused looking for the right thing to say.
“I was worried.” He said. Connor pulled away to look at Evan, he looked surprised.
“When you texted me… I just knew… I had to come. And a part of me, just wanted to be here with you anyway.” Evan was surprised that he didn’t stutter and offered up a nervous smile.
Connor stared at Evan, it was like he was scanning him. Evan stared back taking in Connor’s features before Evan realized that Connor was growing red in his cheeks.
“A-are you okay?” Evan asked.
Connor suddenly pulled Evan back into the hug, “I’m fine!” He almost yelled. “I’m fine. I-I just need a minute.” Connor said.
“O-oh.” Evan said, he then wrapped his arms tighter around Connor. Hoping to provide the comfort needed. Evan was proud when he felt Connor relax. Evan closed his eyes and relaxed as well, if he concentrated hard enough Evan could hear the storm still raging strong outside. But he didn’t mind.
Sometimes good things can come out of a storm.
You couldn’t help but smile when the door opened in front of you and you were greeted by a familiar face.
”Oh, _____!” Seokmin greeted you with his wide signature smile.
“Long time no see,” you said and he nodded in agreement.
“Chan! Your girlfriend has arrived!” he announced loudly and let you inside the waiting room.
Everyone greeted you with smiles and you did the same to them. When you spotted Chan, your smile grew even wider.
“Noona can’t I just-“
“Sit still!” the woman doing his hair said sternly, earning a pout from the boy.
You giggled and decided to not interrupt the two, knowing the hairstylist wouldn’t like it. Instead, you turned and walked over to the rest of the performance unit that was rehearsing for the collaboration performance they had that night with some other amazing dancers.
“I can’t wait to see the performance,” you sighed, looking at how sharp their moves were. “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you guys perform live.”
Soonyoung grinned. “The performance is going to be awesome.”
“I don’t doubt that,” you chuckled.
“Yo,” Mingyu appeared next to you and ruffled your hair, earning a frown from you.
“Don’t do that,” you said and pushed his hand away which he responded to with a laugh.
“_____ have you eaten yet?” Jeonghan asked from the other side of the room.
“No, I was in such a rush to come here that I couldn’t eat anything,” you said and the boys let out chuckles.
“Our maknae chose the right girl!” Mingyu said with a teasing tone.
“Don’t praise her for skipping a meal!” Chan who had finally finished getting ready appeared next to you with a frown.
Mingyu just grinned in response.
“Let’s go find you something to eat,” your boyfriend dragged you out of the crowded room before you could resist. “Seriously, _____,” he said immediately after he had closed the door behind him. “You should take better care of yourself,” he lectured you with a slight frown.
“I’m sorry,” you apologized with a small smile. “I just couldn’t help it. It’s been two weeks since I last saw you all, I was too excited.”
He couldn’t stay angry at you when you smiled like that so he just let out a sigh and grabbed your hand. “I know,” he said and you two started walking to the nearest vending machine to get you a snack or something.
You passed by some idols and you greeted each other politely. The public knew that Chan was dating but from his request, your identity hadn’t been revealed. He wanted to protect you from all the stalking and hate. You two had managed to avoid paparazzi and crazy fans.
“Have you slept?” you asked him and he nodded.
“Enough,” he said. “I’m not tired so it’s okay.”
You hummed. “If you say so. Have the preparations for the collaboration stage gone well?”
“Yeah, we all get along pretty well,” he grinned. “Even though we practiced for hours at a time, the time just flew by. We match well.”
You smiled. “That’s good.”
You two stopped in front of the vending machine. While you looked at the different snacks and their prices, Chan wrapped his arms around your waist from behind and lazily hugged you. He rested his head on your shoulder.
“What do you want?” he asked.
“That looks good,” you said and pointed at one of the options.
“It’s kind of cheap,” he stated, making you look at him in disbelief. “Choose something more expensive.”
“Why? Are you trying to show off? Besides, it’s a really small difference since everything is so cheap.”
“No, I’m not trying to show off, I just want to spoil you,” he grinned and you rolled your eyes with a smile before looking at the machine again, seeing if there was anything else good.
“Did you change your shampoo?” he asked suddenly.
“No,” you answered. “Do I smell different?”
“Not really, just sweeter,” he said and you hummed.
“I didn’t do any changes though.”
“It could be just because we haven’t seen in so long,” he said quietly.
“Yeah, could be.”
“______?” you heard a familiar voice call your name and turned your head to the direction it came from.
“Hi!” you greeted Minhyuk with a smile. The two of you had been friends for quite some time now.
You could see from his face that he was confused by how close you and Chan were.
“Oh, Minhyuk,” Chan let go of you. “You two know each other?”
“Yeah, kind of,” Minhyuk answered with a smile that looked a little forced to you. “Seems like you know her too?”
Chan nodded and turned to look at you, looking like he wanted you to explain.
“We are friends,” you explained to him. “We’ve known each other for a long time already.”
Chan hummed and nodded his head. “I would have never expected that.”
“How about you two?” Minhyuk asked. “Are you… close?”
“Yeah, we’re dating,” Chan grinned with pride and put his arm around your shoulders.
Minhyuk froze for a second. You were about to ask him if he was okay but he spoke before you could. “Oh, is that so?” he smiled, surprised. “That’s so unexpected. I never thought you two would start dating.”
You smiled and Chan laughed. “It just happened like that,” Chan said.
Minhyuk looked at you for bit and his gaze bothered you a little. The look he gave you was somewhat hurt.
“Well, I’ll get going now,” he said with a smile. “See you guys later.”
“Let’s make the collab unforgettable,” Chan grinned to him and he nodded.
“See you,” you said to Minhyuk who gave you a small wave before walking away.
“So,” Chan turned back to face you after Minhyuk had left. “Did you choose already?”
You nodded and he bought you the snack you had chosen. When you were walking back to the waiting room, you couldn’t help but think about the weird look Minhyuk had given you.
I wonder what that was all about…
“Thank you for your hard work!” numerous idols passed by you in the hallway while bowing to every passer-by.
You smiled when you spotted Minhyuk in the crowd. “Congratulations!” you said to him and the other members of ASTRO who passed by with the trophy they had won. The members thanked you with wide smiles but Minhyuk’s expression was serious.
“What’s wrong?” you asked him when he stopped in front of you.
“Can we talk for a bit?” he asked.
“Of course,” you said, a little worried.
You two walked to a quieter place where you could talk privately. You noticed it was right next to Seventeen’s waiting room.
“What is it?” you asked him when you two stopped.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked, not angry but a little hurt instead.
“About what?” you asked, confused.
“About you and Chan,” he said.
“Oh,” you blinked.
He just looked at you with an expression that told you he was quite hurt.
“I’m sorry,” you apologized. “I didn’t mean to keep it from you. I just didn’t think of telling you. I didn’t think it would be important to you.”
“But it is, don’t you-“ he stopped mid-sentence.
“What?”
“Nothing,” he looked away. “I have to go. See you.”
“Wait, Minhyuk,” you said but he was already walking away.
What has gotten into him?
After a few minutes, you could hear noise form the hallway and turned around. The worry about Minhyuk washed away and your lips curved into a wide smile.
“_____!” Chan ran to you with the happiest, widest smile ever and wrapped his arms around you tightly before spinning around, lifting you up from the ground.
“Congratulations on winning,” you chuckled and hugged him.
He put you down and you congratulated the other members who went into the waiting room to change their clothes. When you looked at your boyfriend again, he had tears in his eyes.
You smiled and hugged him comfortingly. “You’ve worked hard.”
He hugged you tightly. When you heard him sob you had mixed feelings. It broke your heart to see him cry but he was also a little adorable at the same time.
“I love you,” he said quietly between his sobs.
“I love you too,” you said just as quietly.
[text message sent at 6:46pm from you] “That is exactly why I’m not coming”
Instead of a the buzz of a text message notification, the ring of a phone call played through your phone. You looked at who was calling and wasn’t surprised to see Yoongi’s name. You sighed and reluctantly answered, “I’m not coming over, Yoongi.”
“Don’t lie to me Y/N. You want to.” Yoongi demanded. “No. Ever since I let my crush on him slip you won’t stop insisting I come over.” He had done this regularly for the past few weeks and it was beginning to become tiring. “Stop trying to get us together.” You added, peeking around the corner to see if your roommate Sunyoung was anywhere near. She fed off gossip and if she overheard she wouldn’t be able to keep her mouth shut about it. “I knew you had a crush on him forever. You only confirmed it.” He insisted and you rolled your eyes. “Don’t lie, Yoongi. No you didn’t.” How could he? It wasn’t like you were obvious or anything.
bc i miss my fave JONAS
this is the fault of @coldharmonies
He was worried that he wouldn’t see as much of him after moving in with Even. Although Jonas really, really likes Even, he even likes him A LOT since the Mia incident (more of that some other time), but he was also just a bit ..hmm anxious about maybe losing his best friend. Or at least about time with said friend
But what actually happens is, after they spent the whole easter weekend doing god knows what (a lot of clean every surface jokes were made by the boys) and locking themselves into their new crib, their place becomes Jonas’ second home.
He will walk out of the school, talking with Isak and just kind of naturally they would end up at Evak’s. Without either of them commenting or talking about it.
Just like all those years ago, when Isak just went home with Jonas.
They would cook together, bc “Jonas, you can’t just live off of kebab!”
To which Jonas just looks disbelievingly from Even - who had uttered those unholy words - to his best friend, throwing up his hands. Isak just shruggs.
“Even is actually a pretty decent cook.” (They both ignore Even’s offended “Decent?!”)
And they will always play epic rounds of Fifa!!! Trash talking each other. Sometimes Even will join in, but sometimes ist just the two of them, chilling.
On fridays this whole thing kind of morphs into a pregame-before-the-pregames with Mahdi and Magnus (if Vilde can spare him. “Jeez, those whipped guys, amiright?” - “Shut up, Isak. We didn’t see you for like a month, man” woah, rude Mahdi???)
Isak would help him with science homework and Jonas would help him with history and all those political assignments. Even is either also working for school or drawing little Isak og Jonas comics.
Isak og Jonas and the mistery of the stolen Kebab
Isak og Jonas and the scandalous case of the braless teacher
Isak og Jonas & Mahdi og Magnus
(bc you know Magnus whines “Eveeeennn, you never draw me!” at some point, at which Mahdi places his beer at the table forcefully - but still with that golden smile on his face - going “and why am i never brought to paper, my man?”)
Isak og Jonas - drunk adventures
Isak og Jonas vs. the cute barista who left her number but Jonas is too shy (”I was not too shy, Even!” - “Well, maybe you were a little shy”)
Isak og Jonas will, after a few drawings, get to be drawn a more and more like superheroes. Isak will always sport his magical red snapback, that when turnt frontal, solves all the sciencey cases (”great explanation, Evi”) and Jonas with his skateboard, which could sometimes fly and somethimes summon Kebabs.
All in all, Jonas is doing really fucking great and loving his second home at Evak’s very much
I'm sorry / gd
I was IN my bathroom, swaying my hips to ‘That’s what i like’ by Bruno mars as i finished the last touches of my makeup. I was getting ready for my date tonight with Grayson. We were going to a movie and dinner, but i decided i would wear graysons favorite dress of mine. It was a red spaghetti strap body con dress that he loved to see me wear but would also love to see it n the floor, which may or may not be my intentions. You see, grayson and i haven’t been out on a date in a while, hes been so busy with Ethan and working on stuff for his YouTube channel. That means we haven’t seen or done anything in a while, so I’m hoping tonight we can go back to normal.
I slipped on the dress and my black stilettos, then walked to the mirror. My dark brown hair perfectly curled, the silver necklace grayson gave me laid perfectly on my chest and my red lipstick perfectly matched my dress.
I grabbed my purse and took out my phone to call my boyfriend.
“Hey baby are you almost here?” I asked into the phone.
“Oh shit sorry babe, E and I are going out tonight i forgot to call you earlier.” He said. A lump formed in my throat due to the tears threatening to fall. I shook my head, turning my sadness into anger.
“Oh. Have fun.” I said trying not to sound mad.
“I’m sorry babe, can we reschedule for tomorrow?” He asked.
“whatever.” I said, taking off my shoes.
“You’re mad.” He said with a sigh.
“Go have fun with Ethan, Ill be fine.” I said, sitting down on my couch.
“I love you, Ill call you when i get home.” he said, with a hint of hope in his voice. I shook my head.
“bye gray.” I said before quickly hanging up the phone, not giving him a chance to say anything else. I sighed and set my head in my hands. I ran my fingers through my hair trying not to be stressed. I decided to not waist my perfectly good makeup and text my best friend.
‘Grayson bailed on our date to hang out with Ethan. Seeing as im already dressed want to go out?’ I texted.
‘What are you wearing?’ She texted back, I sent her a picture and she immediately texted back.
‘Clubbing it is, ill be there soon, xo’ She texted making me smile.
-20 minutes later-
Y/F/N and I walked up to the doors of the club and walked in, the stench of alcohol and sweaty bodies hitting us immediately. She grabbed my hand pulling me to the dance floor. We danced with each other jokingly until her face fell and i turned to the direction where she was looking. Grayson and Ethan were sitting at a table, drinks in hand, laughing their asses off while talking to a few people and some happened to be girls wearing very revealing outfits. I looked back at her angrily.
“Hey, you know what? Ignore him, you’re his loss, not the other way around” She said. I smiled agreeing with her. She smacked my ass and we walked to the bar to grab drinks. I was trying to figure out what to drink when a semi-attractive guy walked up to me. This guy was nothing compared to Grayson, but Grayson pissed me off so this guy was starting to seem extremely attractive at the moment. He and i got to talking ad he offered to buy me a drink, I looked over at grayson who hasnt noticed i was there yet. I shrugged.
“Why not.” I said smiling. He turned to the bartender to order me a drink, but i stopped paying attention when i saw one of the the girls by grayson move over to him and put her hand on his shoulder while he talked ot her. I was tempted to go over there but didnt when he moved her ar off of him and turned his attention to the bar, noticing me finally. His face light up when he saw me, but mine remained the same with the angered bitch face plastered on it. The guy turned back to me with the drinks in his hands. I smiled at him, taking mine out ofhis hand. I pretended to drink the drink, because seriously I am not taking a drink from a stranger. I smiled at him and licked my lip, setting the drink down. The guy grabbed my hand  and held it as he talked to me.
Soon I was pushed away from the guy and i felt a air of lips on mine. These lips i could recognize anywhere, Grayson. I pushed him off me angrily.
“What the hell grayson?” I asked.
“You really think im going to let you talk to a guy without letting him know youre mine?” He asked.
“Am i really yours? Because you fucking bailed on me to hang out with Ethan when you’ve been with him this whole time and not with me, Your girlfriend!” i yelled.
“Woe you have a boyfriend?” The guy asked.
“Yea, so back the fuck up.” Grayson said getting in the guys face. I groaned and pulled grayson outside, not wanting to yell over the music.
“What the hell grayson? Were you seriously going to fight some guy for being nice to me?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.
“Yea, i was. Because i wont let some guy step in my place.” He said angrily.
“Your place? You obviously seemed happier back at your table.” I said.
“Lets not do this here, Lets go back to your place and talk about this.” He said, grabbing my hand trying to walk me to his car. I pulled my hand from his grip.
“No, I’m not going to ruin your plans with Ethan and whoever those little sluts are over there. Just go.” I said.
“Are you seriously acting like this right now?” He asked.
“Yes i am, because i spent 4 hours getting ready to be with you tonight since i haven’t seen you in weeks. I fucking missed you grayson! But instead you blow me off.” I said.
“Four hours?” He asked confused.
“Yes grayson, four hours. Because i wanted this night to be perfect. I wanted to be back in your arms and finally be happy again. But you ruined it.” I said, tears forming in my eye. I turned around to walk away. I felt grayson grab my arm lightly, turning me around. I looked back into his eyes, his face showing nothing but hurt, sorrow and regret. He pulled me to him, resting his forehead on mine.
“im so sorry Y/N, I love you so much. I didn’t know how much tonight meant to you.” He whispered as i felt a single tear hit my cheek. Grayson lifted a hand to wipe it away and let his hand on my cheek as he pulled me in for a long kiss.
“I love you too, Grayson.” I said just above a whisper. His thumb my cheek as he looked in my eyes.
“Lets get out of here, we can spend the rest of the night together.” He said.
“What about Ethan and Y/F/N?” I asked.
“They have each other.” he said making me laugh. I pulled him in for a long kiss before following him to his car and going back to my apartment.
Can you write one where Jughead prevents Betty from danger?
Okay I’ll try!
Wrong Side of the Track
Betty and Jughead had left the movie theater hours ago and found themselves walking around enjoying their night.
They were holding hands, wandering and talking. Neither of them had noticed walking right into the south side of town.
They walked past spray painted buildings, shops long closed down, cars idling with people leaning into the windows.
There were groups of rough-looking men and women hovering in dark corners, motorcycles parked up on sidewalks.
Jughead cursed to himself.
They kept walking, groups of people blocking their way. There was rowdy laughter and deep voices, men spitting on the ground.
“Hey sexy.” They heard a man call towards them. “Want to get with a real man tonight?”
More rowdy laughter.
Jughead gripped Betty’s hand a little tighter, his head looking straight forward.
Neither of them said anything as they tried to get past the group.
“Bitch, I was talking to you. Don’t be so rude.” One of the men grabbed Betty by the wrist, stopping her to face him.
Jughead stopped too, placing his hand on her forearm. “Let her go,” He hissed.
“What are you gonna do, Stringbean?” The man guffawed, gripping a little tighter.
Betty wimpered at how tight the man’s grip was on her wrist, and tried to twist away from him.
“My name isn’t Stringbean, actually. It’s Jughead Jones.”
The man’s eyebrows knit together in confusion. “I don’t fuckin’ care what your name is, kid. Piss off.” He pulled on Betty’s wrist, trying to pull her closer.
Jughead blocked the man from pulling Betty nearer. “You don’t understand. Jughead is a nickname. My name is Forsythe Jones the third - as in F.P. Jones. You might’ve heard of him.”
Recognition covered the mans face and he instantly dropped Betty’s arm from his grip. “Shit,” He muttered.
Jughead took Betty’s hand and rushed her away. He wasn’t stupid enough to try and defend her honor against a group of men double his size.
They rushed away, Jughead placing his arm around Betty’s shoulder.
They walked quickly back towards Betty’s house, not talking the entire time.
Jughead lingered on the doorstep, torn between demanding tucking her into bed to make sure she was safe, and not wanting to cross a line.
“Come in with me?” She asked, her voice quiet and shaking.
Jughead nodded, gripping her hand.
He followed her up the stairs, closing her bedroom door gently behind him.
Betty sat on her bed and wrapped her arms around herself. She let out a shaky breath, then finally let the tears fall.
All Jughead could do was stare. He took a step closer to her, bent at the knee and took her hand in his.
“Betty, I’m so sorry.”
Betty looked up at him, searching his face for answers. Her eyebrows knit together. “Why are you sorry? If it wasn’t for you, things could’ve been way worse…”
Jughead shook his head, then sat down beside Betty. “If it wasn’t for me, we wouldn’t have been there in the first place.”
“What are you talking about, Jug? We were just walking… just wandering. It wasn’t anybody’s fault.”
Jughead scooped Betty’s wrist up in his hands, looking at the angry red mark covering her wrist. He was sure it would turn into a bruise. “Are you okay?”
“I’ll be fine, Jug,” Betty said as she flicked a tear off her face. “It was just scary. But I’ll be fine.” Betty shook her head. “You’re my hero,” She said lightly, laughing.
Jughead rolled his eyes. He lifted Betty’s arm towards his lips, kissing the mark on her wrist. He kissed every inch of her hurting skin.
“Thank you, Jughead.”
He looked up at her, confusion in his eyes.
“Thank you for being you.”
Through out the Salvatore mansion the sound of pacing could be heard. The crackling fire, the movement of Damon in the kitchen, Stefan’s  soft music playing in his room, and Alaric’s car pulling into the driveway, couldn’t compare to Kai Parker’s nervous pacing.
The worst part about it was that it didn’t stop. From the moment Kai had arrived at Damon and Stefan’s residence he was pacing. That was almost two hours ago.
At first the two brothers found it funny, a man so nervous to ask a girl a simple question, that he was left silently pacing in the living room until someone would physically stop him.
But then ten minutes past by and Kai was still in the living room, moving back and forth over and over again, with what seemed to be no end.
When Stefan had asked Kai what was wrong, all he had done was placed a small black velvet box on the couch next to him and then proceeded to pace.
Stefan almost chocked at the inference, and almost died again when he saw the ring. Damon had a similar reaction.
They had called Alaric over for some advice, not knowing what to do in a situation like this.
Now, the three men all surrounded Kai and his pacing, waiting for him to sit down.
“Kai, why don’t you just take a seat before your legs fall off. Let’s talk about this.”
Alaric said, understanding pre-proposal jitters, however not to this extent.
When Kai didn’t stop moving, Damon had sighed and looked over to Stefan and Alaric with raised eyebrows. Then he brought his hand up and slapped him across the cheek.
“Ow!”
“Damon!”
“Someone had to get him to stop.”
Now Kai sat on one couch while the other three sat on the one across from him, almost in an interrogation style.
“Kai just talk to us, tell us what you’re so worried about.”
Stefan said calmingly, in an effort to keep Kai from pacing again.
“What if she says no? Why would (Y/N) want to marry me anyway? I’m a terrible person whose done terrible things, I don’t even know why she’s with me. Maybe for sex, do you think she would-”
“No, shut up.”
Damon stated cutting him off, not wanting to hear about his friends sex life.
“Listen, granted you’ve messed up quite a lot but clearly that had no impact on (Y/N). She loves you and you know that, theres no reason to be nervous. Now, since that’s cleared from the air, how do you plan on asking her?”
Alaric shifted the conversation and Kai just shrugged with a nervous expression on his face.
“Wait so you bought a ring, without a plan?”
Stefan questioned, curious as to how he would have hidden the ring from your curious mind.
“I clearly don’t think much okay? I just want to ask her, thats all. Nothing huge and sappy like you see in the movies, I think I would throw up. Also, so many things could go wrong, like if we put up lights they could blow out of flowers could make her allergies worse and what if-”
“Maybe you should stop talking.”
Damon’s snarky comment cut him off, then he looked to Alaric and Stefan with pleading eyes.
“Please help me, I’m hopeless.”
Alaric sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“You said you just wanted to ask her right?”
Kai nodded with his head placed in his hands.
“Why don’t you just walk with her, talk to her about everything and anything and just propose?”
Stefan suggested from his spot on the couch.
“Or you can buy a bottle of bourbon and knock it down to loosen your nerves.”
Damon added, while both Alaric and Stefan smacked him over the head.
“I’m kidding, just put your man pants on and propose! She loves you for some reason!”
“The walk sounds nice, its casual and romantic, if you wanna add a little pizzazz you can.”
Kai nodded and left the house.
“The ring!”
Alaric yelled, bringing Kai’s attention back to the boys and ran over to the couch and took the ring, then left the house.
* * *
Kai stood in front of your shared apartment door and took out the key, unlocking it and entering to see you sitting on the couch eat a bowl of ice cream.
“Hey babe what’s up?”
You asked turning down the TV’s volume.
“We’re gonna go on a walk so take your pjs off and lets roll.”
Kai cringed and shut his eyes and sighed.
“Sorry, just put on whatever you like and let me take you to the park, it won’t be as weird as I made it I promise.”
You laughed and stood up from the couch. You walked over to Kai and put your hand on his forehead.
“You feeling ok? You seem a little off.”
You moved your hand from his forehead to his cheek and he relaxed at your kind touch.
“I’m ok, yeah, just go get changed and we’ll walk and talk you know?”
Nodding, you left the room and smiled, laughing at his odd behavior.
After changing, you came out of your room and saw Kai, still standing near the door. He took you hand and led you out of the apartment and into his car.
“We’re not walking?”
“Yeah, just not around the block.”
Through the drive, you looked out the car window wondering about the final destination and why Kai is not as confident as he normally is. A short drive later, Kai stopped the car and you two got out. Kai led you to a empty walkway and placed his hand on yours.
“Now, (Y/N) I know that I don’t deserve an award for the greatest person of the year and I sure as hell don’t understand how you even put up with me so I kinda just wanted you to know that you mean a lot to me.”
You gasped when you saw the rose petals that led to a cut down tree stump which held a small opened ring box.
“Kai…”
Tears started to brim your eyes as Kai led you through the rose petals to the tree stump.
“(Y/N),”
He took the ring of the tree and got down on one knee.
“There is no world I could travel to where I could be happier than I am right now. You are the love of my life and the only person that sees me for me, so will you do me the honor and become my wife?”
Tears were now falling down your face and you could only muster a small whisper.
“Yes.”
Kai’s eyes filled with joy and quickly flooded with tears. All his nerves from before vanished once he put the beautiful engagement ring on your finger.
