Pennywise X Reader (Time Tells) Pt. One

Pennywise X Reader ( Time Tells )

After getting to know Pennywise much better after your first meeting, he begins to grow a strange, but pleasant feeling towards you. He wants you to be safe, feel that way when you’re with him. When he tells you this you explain it as the human emotion known as love and in return he gives you a special gift. One of his bells, and if you should ever need him, ring it. You never knew you would have to use it…

It was a rather dreary afternoon, the sound of drizzling rain filling the silence as you sat atop your bed, book in hand, eyes scanning over the words etched onto the paper. It was a peaceful afternoon and nothing could ruin it for you. Well you couldn’t exactly say, nothing… The sudden rapping of knuckles bright your attention from the book you’d been reading to gaze at the window. A familiar dressed figure clad in a rather outdated clown costume stood in the rain, not minding of his hair had gotten wet.

“P-Penny? Oh my..” He gave you a large grin, his painted cheeks making his smile all the more sinister than it already was, but you, of course knew better than that.

You set the book aside and slid off the bed making your way over to the window and unlocking the hook before sliding it up. “Come inside you’re getting wet, Pen.” The clown glanced down at his soaking wet outfit and chuckled. “Nah, it’ll be fine. I don’t mind the water, after all I live in the sewers of Derry!” He declared crawling through the window with ease despite his height. Although his voice was filled with joy there was a slight uneasiness to it, living in sewers must be so lonely.

“You don’t ever get lonely down in the well house?” You asked curiously turning back to gather your things and put them back in their rightful places. Pennywise watched you in slight curiosity as you put the items away before reaching to grab a towel. “Not really, I mean I eat children for a living, why would that mater?” He asked brushing off the dust on the bed before sitting down.

“No wait! Y-You can’t sit yet..” You pulled him back up to stand and sighed but smiled seeing he was worried he had upset you in some way. “I-I’m gonna go get another towel, stay here, don’t move.” Pennywise did as you told him to and stayed very still, and he knew soon he’d have to ask you the brining question, this feeling.

After helping him dry off his costume He sat down so you could dry off his hair. After doing so the usually very well tamed hair became a poofy mess. You giggled slightly pulling the towel away. “Do you mind I brush your hair back into place… you can’t scare children with that mess.” Pennywise in return laughed with you, but in that high pitch cackle he normally uses only around you.

The laughter died down as you began to comb the brush through his fiery locks, styling it as he usually had it. “So is there a reason why you stood in the rain just to see me?” You inquired raising a brow.

Penny’s blue orbs glanced down at his gloved hands, “I hadn’t been as hungry lately and well I thought maybe it was because it’s been a year, so maybe it was time for my rest, but I was wrong.” He sighed turning his eyes to look at your reflection in the glass mirror. “This feeling I have.. only happens around you. When I’m with you I feel like there’s no need for me to eat. I get this weird feeling in my stomach and my actions are well….just plain odd.” You stopped brushing and blushed slightly. He turned to look back at you blue orbs staring into your own.

“What is it? This feeling I have?” You set down the brush and spoke, “Well, Penny.. it’s called love. That’s when two humans have the same feelings and are a match for one another.” You told him.

Penny turned around facing you, “D-Do you feel the same?” He asked grabbing your hand. You nodded face still red, “I do, Penny, I do love you.”

2nd Wedding Anniversary in Scarborough

He had wanted them to live as closely as two people could. And they had found out what that meant during their honeymoon in Scarborough. On the last day of their honeymoon they had promised each other to return to this place every year, for every anniversary…

last time i was at ikea my brother decided to see if he could stand inside a portable closet cube thing and just as he’d managed to climb inthere an employee showed up around a corner and my brother panicked bc he thought he was gonna get yelled at but the guy just said “wow i didnt think you were gonna fit in there good job!!” and walked off

I know the fall equinox is coming up and I was wondering if there is a festival at that time and who is worshipped during said festival.

I believe the Eleusinian Mysteries take place around now? Other than that, I place Koris Katagogi, which is a Sicilian festival for Persephone, after the equinox. Koris Katagogi celebrates Persephone’s return to the underworld, so I’d place it close to the end of your local growing season.

i look for you mostly everywhere
but don’t worry

my heart only breaks half the time
when i don’t find you

i miss you like dawn /

i mourned a life that almost was/
one where i stayed

i forget now why i left after all,
if i convinced myself my body wasn’t made for the winters there

but what else was it made for really? what good are these hands when
they’re not keeping something warm?

and you should know,
i looked the for the end of the rain

but my heart was stuck trying to remember the ending of
a dream i almost had

and anyways it’s too late/

it’s already tomorrow in all the places

blackbearmagic’s Crystal Hunting Guide

Scientific Fact: Witches love crystals almost as much as they love jars.
Consumerism Fact: In many metaphysical shops, nice-looking crystals can be had for relatively cheap.
Ethical Fact: Many of those crystals are as cheap as they are because they are mined with no consideration for the damage done to the environment or the welfare of the humans collecting them.

So what’s a good, honest, ethically-minded witch to do, especially if he/she/they don’t have the money to afford crystals that were mined sustainably and responsibly, or the time to research which sellers obtain their wares from ethical mines?

Find their own.

I’ve been crystal hunting all my life, but only within the last year have I started doing it seriously. I’ve walked away from a creeking expedition with slabs of smoky quartz the size of my palm or calcite hunks bigger than my fist, and I personally think creek-crystal energy is much more vibrant and easy to work with; by comparison, the crystal points I’ve bought from metaphysical shops feel… inert, lifeless.

So let’s get straight into it!

What You’ll Need

  • a good-sized creek or stream with lots of gravel spits along its length
  • offerings to the spirit of the creek, if appropriate to your personal practice
  • bug spray, sunscreen, snacks, water, and anything else you’d normally bring on a hike
  • your trusty adventurer’s Bag of Holding
  • your sweet self

Now let’s talk details.

When I say “gravel spits”, this is what I’m referring to:

These tumbles of stone are going to be where you’ll find your treasures, and the size of the stones themselves actually tells you what size of crystal you might find: When the conditions are right (ie, during a flood), the water flowing through that portion of the creek is capable of lifting and moving rocks of the size you see there now.

In my experience, the crystal specimens you’ll find are typically half or one-third the size of the average rock on the spit. They’re usually larger than the smallest rocks, but much smaller than the largest rocks. Not always, though–I have found specimens larger. (See the introduction.)

Regarding offerings, if that’s part of your path, you’ll want to make sure it’s nothing that will harm the local wildlife or damage the ecosystem in any way. My personal go-to is water, ideally water from a bottle I haven’t drunk from yet.

In the same vein as offerings, I’ve had great success in making a sort of bargain with the spirit of the place: That in return for treasures, I will pick up and remove any litter I find in the area. It is, of course, always a good idea to remove any litter you see when you’re out in nature, but it doesn’t hurt to point out to the spirit of the place that it’s something you’re doing for it. Bring along a trash bag to help collect it.

Lastly, with regards to your bag, I would advise something with two shoulder straps. Rocks are heavy.

What You’ll Do

Once you’ve hiked to your creek and found a gravel spit with lots of good-sized rocks, it’s time to start looking. There’s two main approaches I’ve found that work well, and I tend to use both.

The first is a broad sweep. This one works best if you’ve got good lighting on the rocks. All you do is stand in one spot and sway side to side slightly while looking over the gravel, looking for anything that glints, shines, or otherwise catches the light shining on it. If you see something, investigate it. Repeat.

The second is the more detailed search. Get down on the ground–whether that means kneeling, crouching, laying on your belly, I don’t care–and go over each rock one by one. Use your eyes and use your hands. I imagine this method is probably going to be unpleasant for a lot of you, but honestly, it’s like crack to me.

Once you’ve combed over the current gravel spit as thoroughly as you please, pack up and move on to the next. Continue for as long as you like, or until you feel it’s time to go. Just remember that as far out as you go is how far you’ll have to walk back!

Advice and Warnings

Tell someone where you’re going and when you expect to be back. If you godsforbid go missing, they’ll be able to give the police an idea of where to start searching for your poor, lost ass.

Keep a charged cell phone with you at all times.

If you see something or someone iffy, do your best avoid it. Sometimes there are creepy people in the woods, and sometimes they do creepy things. Don’t get involved.

Make sure you’re not trespassing on private property. All of the creeks I hike on are on public land. If you’re in a state park or other protected environmental area, don’t go off the trail–you could cause damage to a fragile ecosystem.

Following the creek is a good way to get out and back without losing your way.  Don’t stray too far from it if you’re in unfamiliar territory.

The best times of year to go hunting–assuming Northern Hemisphere, a temperate climate and deciduous forests around the creek–are the spring and summer. In the autumn, you’ll have to clear fallen leaves off of the gravel before you can look, and winter is too cold.

The best time of day is the morning, when the sun angle is lower and is more likely to glint off of shiny rocks.

You’ll have your best luck the day after heavy rain. Rain will swell the stream and shift the stones around, and could uncover new treasures!

Inspect anything that looks even remotely worthwhile. You’ll find a lot of duds, sure, but that will help train your brain to tune out what you don’t care about finding.

“What Can I Find?”

Exactly what sort of minerals and crystals you’ll find is highly variable. All minerals are not equally distributed across the planet, because many of them require very different conditions to form and the crust composition varies slightly from place to place. However, there are some stones that are pretty common all over the Earth, so no matter where you go hunting, you’re likely to find them.

Of course, for more specific identifications, please consult the internet, a book on mineralogy, or your local rockhounding club.

The chemical formula of quartz is SiO2, or silicon dioxide. Silicon and oxygen are, by mass, the two most abundant elements in Earth’s crust; around 90% of it is composed of silicate minerals like quartz. Ever find a pretty, sparkly, mostly-clear rock on the ground? It was probably quartz.

Quartz comes in a mind-boggling array of colors, from smoky quartz so dark it’s practically opaque to purple-and-orange ametrine to the brilliant clear of a Herkimer diamond (yup, not actually diamonds) but all of these varieties are still quartz. In my region of North America, clear and smoky quartz seem to be the most plentiful.

Calcite is calcium carbonate, CaCO3. Like quartz, it is made of some of the Earth’s most abundant crustal elements (in this case, calcium and oxygen) and comes in a stunning array of colors. In my creeks, I’ve found calcite in yellow, orange, white, and even blue and red.

The biggest giveaway for rough calcite is its texture. If you pick up a rock and it feels like someone rubbed wax all over it, you’ve probably got yourself a calcite specimen.

Feldspar is one of the most abundant minerals in the crust, alongside quartz. It’s also a silicate, and it frequently finds its way into other minerals, such as granite.

What sets feldspar apart from the other two minerals I’ve mentioned here is its fracture habit: It naturally fractures along cleavage planes which intersect at 90-degree angles. It doesn’t shatter–it shears. If you find a rock with a smooth face that looks like a polished stone countertop, it’s probably feldspar.

“But Bear, I Want Crystal Points!”

Oh. Yeah.

You can find those too.

Every one of those pictures is of quartz points that I have found in my area. (In fact, they’re actually all from the same crystal-hunting hike, and represent only about a third of the specimens I found that day!) As you can see, they aren’t all perfect–and I have plenty of others that are, like, three facets and no point–but they’re all beautiful, and some of them really sing, if you know what I mean.

Finding your own crystals can be pretty simple, when you get down to it. It can be a lot of fun to get down and dirty, and is a great way to get yourself out in nature for a while. And, of course, you can rest assured that your crystals were gathered in a sustainable, respectful, ethical manner–assuming you took care of yourself and the environment while finding them!

Best of luck! –Bear

CP bachelor AU: part 12

part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | part 7 | part 8 | part 9 | part 10 | part 11

The clouds that threatened rain earlier in the day have subsided, bunching themselves cosily near the horizon as though they’re aware that what Laurent needs more than anything else is a good sunset to serve as a backdrop. Laurent sits in the grass near the edge of the headland, looking down onto the dark sand of the beach. The water shades abruptly from turquoise to teal a few hundred metres offshore, a meandering divide that becomes less and less distinct as the sun creeps down.

Part of the reason Laurent has been so strict with the show’s budget is that he’s been determined, all along, to produce a finale that is truly spectacular. Sunsets over the ocean aren’t exactly easy to come by, on Australia’s east coast, and it’s an irony of geography that the nearest west coast belongs to another country entirely.

But that makes it better, Laurent thinks, gazing out over the vista of Te Henga. Crossing the sea. The romance of destination.

“I don’t suppose you’d be prepared to give us a hint,” says a voice from behind him.

“And spoil your authentic, on-camera emotional response?” Laurent shoots back. “Please, Jokaste.”

Jokaste steps up next to him; Laurent has to tilt his head to take her in. Her hair is braided back, one plait forming a headband and the others looped intricately into a knot at the back of her head. She’s wearing a long flowing dress of pale lavender, just a shade away from overtly bridal, and it somehow manages to accentuate the porcelain of her skin instead of calling out unpleasant pink or yellow tones. Laurent makes a note to give someone in wardrobe a bonus for that.

“You do know who he’s going to choose, don’t you?” she says.

“Of course,” Laurent lies, cool and easy.

With someone who has a painful past like Junjin, I’m so very happy that he has such real friends around him ♥ .. This guy really went through a lot.. family issues, panic disorder, suicidal thoughts .. & yet he’s always smiling & the most cheerful person in Shinhwa ..
“I’m always thankful towards my Shinhwa brothers for their endless love & support to me. They don’t let me have negative thoughts when things get tough for me.”  - Junjin
That’s what I love the most about Shinhwa, their true friendship. The genuine love they have for each other. When they say they’re 2gether 4ever, they truly mean it and we never exaggerate when we say that Shinhwa = friendship goals ♥
Forever protect & support this babybird & make him feel more loved.

The Institute has never been a home for Alec.

He’s been born into it, the cold cathedral walls of order and humility, the black and white reality. His childhood has been a soldier’s stance, his mother’s sharp tongue and discipline still ingrained into him to this very day. Between the blue-tinted corridors and occasional trips to Idris, his whole life has played out without his input, because the eldest child wears the heavy crown of responsibility.

His life has been endless hours of studies and twice as much time spent training, until breathing burned his lungs and his knuckles turned into a kaleidoscope of bruises beneath the shattered light in the colors of the stained glass windows. His childhood was never truly his own, instead it belonged to his parents, stern-faced and cutting cold, because ‘mistake’ was not a word he was allowed to speak.

Okay, so a few people have shown interest in hearing an unpopular fma, so here goes: Hohenheim was not a good father. Now, before anyone immediately disagrees, I’d ask you to please hear me out, because I do have a real argument for this, and it isn’t just a post bashing Hohenheim. (And this analysis will be talking about fmab Hohenheim, because there’d be a whole lot more to say about 03 Hohenheim)

Before I say anything else, I’d like to start by saying that I like Hohenheim as a character. The way he was written was compelling, and he added so much to the plot and development of other characters. He tries his best to be a good person, and at heart, just wants to do what’s best for the people around him. And there’s absolutely no doubt that he loved his wife and two sons more than anything else in the world. And I’ve seen people argue that that fact alone makes him a great parent. However… that doesn’t automatically make him a great father, or even a good one.

Loving your child is not the only requirement of a parent. Being a good parent requires you to be there for your kid, to encourage them, to help shape the kind of person they are. It requires being an active presence in your child’s life. And Hohenheim just didn’t have that. He left his wife and two kids at home when both Ed and Al were toddlers, and went off to travel. I understand why he had to leave, and I’m not saying this wasn’t something important. But the fact of the matter is that he left his home, and he didn’t return, didn’t even spare the time for a simple phone call for over ten years. Ten years. And he didn’t even bother calling his family to check in on them. I probably wouldn’t even be making this post if he decided to give Trisha a phone call every couple of days and talk to the boys.

He found out about his wife’s death ten years after it happened. He had no idea one of his sons became a state alchemist until three years after the fact. He just wasn’t there for so much of his sons’ lives, to the point where Ed doesn’t even recognize him as his dad anymore. Hohenheim didn’t fulfill any of the duties a father is typically supposed to fulfill, and he wasn’t there for his children at a time when they needed him most and were left on their own. Had he been at home with Ed and Al, their human transmutation attempt might not have even happened! They lived by themselves for ten years only loosely supervised by Pinako, then Izumi, then nobody.

When Hohenheim did decide to return to Resembool after ten years, there’s no doubt in my mind that he was ecstatic at the prospect of seeing his family. He obviously loved them immensely, and that love and need to protect them was one of his main reasons for leaving in the first place. But he returned to a burned down home and two broken sons (one if you count the fact that Hohenheim only met up with Al muuuuch later on in the series then Ed). This was a direct result of his bad parenting because had he been there for Ed and Al, had he been active in their lives, there would have been so much less tragedy.

Someone could argue that when Hohenheim came back for the Promised Day, he was there at a time when his sons needed him most… but what about all the other times? What about the night Ed and Al attempted human transmutation? What about Ed’s painful automail recovery? What about the time when Ed decided to become a state alchemist? Being there for one huge moment of your child’s life and helping them then doesn’t redeem you for leaving them to their own devices for over ten years without a word. He played a minimal role in raising his kids in the couple years he did stay at home with them, then left them to grow up on their own without a dad.

Hohenheim was a good person, and he loved his family so much, but like I said earlier, love alone doesn’t make you a good parent. It requires playing an active role in raising your children, and let’s face it: Hohenheim couldn’t do that.

Humans are Space Orcs: Blast Injuries

I have seen quite a few posts about the human bodies ability to withstand damage. I was going over some of my old medic notes and I came across something worth adding. Blast injuries. I am not going into secondary and tertiary injuries (shrapnel and being thrown into objects) I want to address injuries caused purely by the blast wave itself. (Note: I will address all of the pressures in psi [pound-force to square inch] instead of breaking it into any other measurements because I am lazy) The human body is under an atmosphere of 15psi and can withstand a blast wave between 20-40 psi with a following vacuum of around 5 psi. The majority of damage is done internally to hollow organs (ears, lungs, GI track, etc) due to the massive pressure shift.

Imagine aliens finding this out first hand.

First Officer Glinth rushed to the ship’s infirmary as fast as his legs could carry him. There had been an explosion in the engine room of the ship that had peaked the environmental pressure sensors at 25 psi. “25 psi!” Glinth thought, “Divine Lights this is bad!”

He reached the infirmary and it was controlled chaos. Engineering crew were laid out on every bed in the room and some were even on litters on the floor. The two doctors and three nurses worked frantically on one patient. The rest of the nursing and aid staff were spread out through the room triaging and treating the injured as best as possible. Off to one side of the room was a body bag and the commander’s heart sank.

He did not see Engineer Hill among the injured as he came in the room. He had grown quite fond of Engineer Hill in the last few months and their conversations about music.

At that moment Glinth heard a familiar voice behind him, “Oh shit, hey sir.” Glinth turned around to see Hill sitting on the floor next to the door. She had burn marks on her uniform and seemed to have a few minor burns and lacerations. Her eyes were barely open and she had fresh blood in her left ear.

Glinth folded down between his front and back legs to get closer to eye level with Hill. “Hill! Are you alright? What happened? How bad are you hurt?” He fired off in rapid succession.

Hill put up her hand and tilted the right side of

her head toward the commander. “Wow, wow, wow sir. Slow down and speak up. I ruptured my left ear drum, and have some other minor injuries. I may have internal trauma too but I am in no immediate danger.

"I was working on purging a hydrogen compressor to fix a leak when a static charge ignited some of the hydrogen. Balket and I were both right in front of the explosion. Luckily for me the pressure wave shoved me over before the flames and shrapnel could cut me to ribbons.” At this Hill gestures to the body bag. “Balket wasn’t so lucky.”

The commander was quiet while he processed at he had just heard. Then he finally spoke, “Make sure you get all possible injuries checked out. I will have counselor Tyler come see you. Focus on getting better.” Hill nodded to this and the commander circled the room to check on the rest of the injured.

That evening he received the casualty report: one human dead, one Flomial ruptured both lungs and is in critical condition(under 24 hour observation), 2 humans with moderate injuries (removed from active duty until further notice), 2 Blantar with moderate injuries (removed from active duty until further notice), 3 humans with mild injuries (Returned to duty), 1 Flomial with minor injuries (placed on light duty until further notice).

Commander Glinth knew this casualty list could have been far worse if it had been any of the other species near the explosion.

Why is it always humans…

I woke up, feeling as I do everyday. Normal. I showered, cleaned, read and finished paperwork, all the same as any day I would. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I definitely felt off today, like something would go wrong. Nothing did, not even while grocery shopping. That was normally the point of my Saturdays where everything goes south and I return home ready to cry or kill.

I was lugging the bags towards the humble abode when I noticed Shawn’s jeep in the parking lot. It was strange not seeing his name flash up on my screen for the duration of my shopping trip, not even a text to ask me to get him a Toblerone from the candy section. I’d assumed he was napping or something since he’s been in the studio all day.

“Hey Shawn, could you come he—What’s your problem?” I breathed once I finally entered the front door, Shawn’s icy gaze already on me. I set the bags on the countertop and huff, resting my hands on my hips.
“Nothing, m’fine.” He mumbles, waltzing straight past me and into the kitchen.
“Yeah, clearly, right?” I gave up for the moment, refocusing on the remaining bags in the car. I mustered up the last of the energy I had and marched down the stairs to claim the last of the shopping bags.

Home, is where I want to be
But I guess I’m already there
I come home, she lifted up her wings
I guess that this must be the place
I can’t tell one from the other
I find you, or you find me?
There was a time before we were born
If someone asks, this is where I’ll be, where I’ll be.
