placa del rei

Plaça del Rei (Spanish: Plaza del Rey, meaning “King’s Square”) is a 14th-century medieval public square in the Barri Gòtic of Barcelona.

The palace was the residence of the Catalan counts from the 13th to the early 15th centuries, and the history of the building can be traced back to the Barcelona of the 11th century, although its current appearance is the result of alterations carried out in the 13th century. This means that the building is predominantly Gothic in style, although the base of the building features Visigothic and Romanesque elements.
