School finished at least an hour ago, and Zero was supposed to be back helping at the shop. Or rather, hanging out. Not many came to ‘All Things Halloween’ at this time of year, so usually it was half-open. Just in case. But it wasn’t like Zero to vanish without prior warning, or at least a sudden text - wait. Jack pulled his phone out of his pocket and unlocked it.
… Nothing. He sighed, placing the phone on the counter. Of all days to be late. Pizza night only happened once a fortnight, you know! Plus, they needed to work on what to do with the ceiling in the shop. He slipped around to the back of the counter, put in his headphones, and placed his head above his arms on the counter; before gazing lazily at the door. Surely he’ll come back soon.
