Whenever I have some free time in New York (when I’m not studying or sleeping) I like to just leave my room and walk around. The best way to see New York is to just walk it. Put down your map and your cell phone, grab someone (or just yourself) and wander. You’ll be amazed what you find. I am going to share with you some of my favorite spaces.
1. Brooklyn Bridge Park
We all know there are great views of the city from the Brooklyn Bridge, but most never make it fully across. And when one does, the view becomes even more incredible. Not only is there the view of Manhattan to be admired, but there is a lot to do at this park.
There are many restaurants by the water (Shake Shack, Juliana’s and Grimaldi’s pizza, ice cream and many more).
There is a carousel! Also plenty of grass to lay in and play on! I’ve come here a couple times to throw a frisbee around with my friends. There are piers that feature basketball courts, volleyball, soccer turf, and even swings!
I hope you all get the chance to check out this amazing park! And if you already have, I hope you love it as much as I do! :)
Female Mallard & Ducklings Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 2
For Day 3 of Baby Bird Week, we have the always adorable Mallard ducklings. They were paddling rapidly behind mommy (quite beautiful herself) in front of the Pier 2 sports courts. Cool fact: a group of ducks in the water is referred to as a raft or a paddling.
