When I looked at myself in the mirror for the first time after finishing this whole look, I thought that this would be something I would wear to a night of partying at the beach. Say at Boracay maybe, don’t you think so? It just felt so laid back, and all too summery, with the maxi and everything.

I really love the color blue. If you look at my wardrobe, I have more blues than any other color. I have teal, turquoise, powder blue, royal blue, cyan, you name a blue hue, I probably have it. Blue is one of those colors that can flatter all skin colors, as well as the color green.
Aside from blue being a really flattering color on any complexion, I also love how a dark blue instantly brightens. It was one of the reasons why I got this dress from Dorothy Perkins. I love how the print resembled designs on fine china too. The blue and white really reminded me of those antique porcelain teapot sets, so I was incredibly drawn to it.
Aside from having a really flattering silhouette, I liked that the length was just right. Not too long for my short physique, and the fabric was very comfortable to move in. I loved that it has this sheer panel just near the hem of the skirt, which adds a romantic flair to the dress.
“If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.” - Eleonora Duse
Last year, I was able to finish the 100 Happy Days challenge on Instagram. After finishing that, I got to appreciate everything around me more than before. I found happiness even in the simplest of acts, reading a book at a quiet cafe, seeing really nice cloud patterns, random acts of kindness, and a whole lot more. Times spent with my loved ones, family, friends have especially been more touching, and I documented them better this time around.
These days I find myself still feeling that way, because really, a little appreciation goes a long way. One thing I realize I have been doing a lot lately is looking up the sky and looking for fluffy clouds, rainbows or birds. Especially in the morning before I walk to the office, I look up, see if the sky’s changed color yet, or if the sun is extra bright today.
As I get older, I find myself investing more in simple pieces that go a long way. One such example is this navy blue knit dress, which has been in my closet for 4 years now. I like how you can wear simple dresses like this to almost any event.
It looks like something you can wear for your Sunday’s best, as well as casual day outs, simple dates, then layer with a blazer for a more corporate look. It’s also very easy to amp up, with a few details like jewelry and the right bag and matching footwear.
Tambayan sa Kanto is not your average chillout spot. To tell you guys honestly, I had very little expectations about the place because of its name. Initially, I thought the place offered the typical bar fare, alcohol, of course, appetizers and finger food to pair up with your choice alcoholic drink. Boy was I wrong. I really missed the mark there.
