Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom by J.L. Ramsaur Photography
Via Flickr:
One of the best, and more thrilling rides at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is this roller coaster called Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. An out-of-control train speeding through the Himalayan Mountains while trying to avoid the Abominable Snowman. I am not a big roller coaster fan…but did actually enjoy this one since I promised everyone in my family that I would ride everything while we were on vacation (except the Tower of Terror!). Definitely one of the must ride attractions while at Animal Kingdom… Technical Information: Camera - Nikon D5200 Lens – Nikkor 18-300mm Zoom ISO – 500 Aperture – f/4.2 Exposure – 1/2000 second Focal Length – 32mm The original RAW file was processed with Adobe Camera Raw and final adjustments were made with Photoshop CS6. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11

Econlockhatchee River

Blackwater quietly flows through the suburbs of Orlando and Oviedo as it makes its way to the St. Johns River. When you walk along this river you forget that you are less than 10 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

The tannic water, produced by decaying leaves in the water, is perfectly safe, and actually gives the fish in this river brilliant colors. When the water level is down a bit the river is perfect for fly fishing.

Mouse About Town sign - Disney’s Hollywood Studios by J.L. Ramsaur Photography
Via Flickr:
Mouse About Town is the first of several shops that make up the Sunset Boulevard Shops (as they’re known on the park guidemap). The front of the building is a neat example of a nice art deco treatment with round bay windows, a rounded store marquee and slatted windows above. It is the place for men’s apparel and golf accessories. The store is themed with a golf club motif so if you need a polo shirt with Mickey on it, this is the place. The 1936 short Mickey’s Polo Team was inspired by Walt Disney’s involvement in the sport during the 1930s. The sharp-eyed visitor to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World can find a homage to Walt’s love of the game and the Mickey Mouse cartoon that grew out of that enthusiasm. The store Mouse About the Town, located on Sunset Boulevard, features an assortment of Walt Disney polo-related props and photos. Vintage black and white photographs of Walt in polo garb adorn one wall, while nearby are sketches of scenes from Mickey’s Polo Team. A color photo from the cartoon sits amidst travel-themed items on a high shelf, while a helmet, mallets and riding crops hang decoratively above the store’s main entrance. Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11

Pioneer Village - Shingle Creek in Kissimmee, Florida

The Pioneer Village is comprised of a permanent collection of authentic structures which once upon a time stood in different areas of Osceola County. They were carefully relocated to our present location and gently preserved to demonstrate how life was once lived before our modern times.

I ended up exploring this place which was merely 6 miles away from the house. It was definitely worth it, so glad I decided to go! Photos taken with my phone.

Stormtroopers in B&W - Disney’s Hollywood Studios by J.L. Ramsaur Photography
Via Flickr:
Stormtroopers are the assault/policing troops of the Galactic Empire throughout the Star Wars world. They wear white armor over a black body glove which, in addition to creating an imposing image, was outfitted with a wide array of survival equipment and temperature controls that allowed its wearer to survive in most environments, but offered limited protection against blaster bolts. Stormtroopers were trained at Imperial Academies, and used a variety of weapons. This Squad of Stormtroopers was photographed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the March of the First Order. “Stormtroopers? Here? We’re in danger. I must tell the others.” ―C-3PO in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Technical Information: Camera - Nikon D7200 (handheld) Lens – Nikkor 18-300mm Zoom ISO – 320 Aperture – f/5.6 Exposure – 1/500 second Focal Length – 270mm The original RAW file was processed with Adobe Camera Raw and final adjustments were made with Photoshop CS6. Conversion to Black & White was completed using Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 as a ‘filter’ in PS6. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ~Jeremiah 29:11
