“THIRSTY GENTS” - a pair of thirsty roaring 20s gents in flat caps drinking bottles of beer. They look like fellas you’d find in a speakeasy, rolled up cuffs and sleeve garters. Looks like these guys laughed in the face of Prohibition and recorded it here for posterity. The AZO Squares stamp box places the date of printing after 1926, although I think it could be an older photo reprinted at the later date.
the thought that in less than a year i will be eighteen, move out to my own place filled with plants and postcards and photographs and too many pillows and morning light and dusty old records. this is what’s keeping me going.
Here’s a picture of Jack, the ships dog we have featured before on board HMS Barham after he was wounded in the Battle of Jutland. This photograph comes from a postcard album that belonged to a member of the crew at the time.
