september 20, 2017 // y'all I’m so at peace with the world and with life rn… idk if it’s the extensive skincare I did tonight or the successful shopping or the fact that my credit score is killing it or that I cleaned my bathroom today but damnit I feel fucken good! I feel grown! like my shit is together! holy shit!

If I’m playing Medic
  • If I have 100% and I’ll healing you, assume it’s YOU I want to use it on. Don’t dilly dally about and make me lose it.
  • With regards to the above, try your best to be reloaded as much as possible.
  • If I have 100% and I go ”Go go go!”, “Move up!”, “Active Charge!”, etc, move up.
  • If I have 100% and I hit you with my melee weapon, move up.
  • With regards to the above, do your best. It doesn’t matter if you think you’ll let me down/not a great player/ If I’ve chosen you, then I take full responsibility.
  • If I shout “Help!”, I’m probably being chased. Protect me.
  • If I shout “Spy!”, there’s a friggen Spy. Hunt the bastard down!
  • Take the bullet for me. Literally.
  • Don’t take the health kits if I need it more.
  • Not necessary, but a “Thanks!” is welcomed if you could, as it encourages me to carry on playing Medic.
  • Heavies, feed me Sandviches.
  • Pyros, airblast me when I’m on fire.
  • Soldiers, if faced with a Pyro, consider using your Shotgun, or Melee at best, especially if the Pyro can airblast well (Phlog Pyros are excused).
  • Soldiers/Demomen, if I uber/kritz//Vac you, DO NOT explosive jump away unless it’s very brief, is absolutely necessary or not very far away, or I will personally haunt you during respawn time.
  • Scouts, if I’m Quick-Fixing, let me hitch a ride with you. If I lose connection, allow me to reconnect with you.
  • Snipers, throw piss at me when I’m on fire. I don’t mind at all.
  • Spies, backstab that Sniper who is trying to headshot me.
  • Everyone except the Engineer, allow me to use the teleporter first unless no one is on the frontline.
    Other Medics, heal me.
  • Everyone, know that you are appreicated in everything you do for me, and Medics alike.
AIRBLASTING

MOTHERFUCKERS.

AIRBLASTING IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECTS TO PLAYING PYRO (FUCK THE PHLOG), BUT ONE OF THE MOST NUANCED AND DEXTERITY-INTENSIVE TASKS IN THE GAME.

FIRST OFF: WHAT IS AIRBLASTING?

WHEN YOU PRESS M2 WHILE HOLDING ANY FLAMETHROWER OTHER THAN THE PHLOG, YOU’LL CONSUME 20 AMMO (50 IF YOU’RE USING THE BACKBURNER) AND EMIT A SMALL PUFF OF AIR FROM THE FRONT OF YOUR FLAMMENWERFER. THIS WILL PUSH ENEMIES BACK, EXTINGUISH ALLIES, AND REFLECT PROJECTILES.

PYRO IS GOOD IN ITS OWN RIGHT WITH JUST M1, BUT PUSHING ENEMIES AND REFLECTING PROJECTILES IS HOW YOU BECOME A FUCKING FIRE DEITY OF THE WINDS.

anonymous asked:

How is Pyro not an offensive class? Mostly I just see them running and burning people wildly.

i will explain!!!!!!

a pyro who just runs around burning shit and that is All They Do is playing what is known as a “w+m1 pyro,” the implication being they are just running forward and holding down the fire button. i mean, you can play pyro this way. if you’re playing phlog pyro it’s about the ONLY way you can play pyro. But if you get called a w+m1 pyro it is intended as an insult, you have just been called a scrub who doesn’t know how to play their class. (do note that you WILL be called a w+m1 pyro EVEN IF YOU KILL PEOPLE WITHOUT FIRE. like all fps’s player rage must be taken with a grain of salt the size of your head)

Pyro is much better described as a utility class! Pyro can do many many things, it is an extremely flexible class, but it does NOT have the destructive power of a demoman or a soldier. If you’re an engineer under assault and you’ve got a good pyro guarding your nest it is very unlikely that nest is going to go down, even under an uber assault. Pyro can remove bombs, rockets, ubers, spies, almost anything that threatens a sentry nest. Pyro even gets a melee weapon capable of removing sappers, the Homewrecker.

Pyro has one of the most useful abilities in the game, the compression/air blast. Pyro can reflect almost any projectile. Baseballs, jarate, arrows, bombs, rockets. SENTRY rockets. I’ve killed an engineer with his own Rescue Ranger ammo. learning to reflect well is the MOST IMPORTANT PART of playing pyro imo. It is one of the most useful defensive tools in the game. (EXTINGUISH YOUR TEAMMATES.)

Pyro can also forcibly move other players, which is a really incredible thing to be able to do if you think about it! Pyro is the only thing TF2 has that resembles a hard counter to an uber pair. if you are a pyro and you see an uber closing in on your team, it is your JOB to facecheck that medic and patient. You get in there and you start slamming M2, you want to either separate the medic from his patient or keep them in the air or in a corner until the uber wears off.

Pyro’s fire does damage over time. Fire causes CHAOS in clumps of enemies. If you sneak up behind five guys and light them all on fire and run away, you’ve just seriously disrupted them. I wouldn’t call this offensive tactics, I would call it support tactics. Pyro as an ambush attacker is scary. In my opinion you want to be sneaky as hell as Pyro as much as you can.

ANYWAY i really like talking about the pyro class because i feel it’s severely misunderstood so this got pretty long, haha. All in all, Pyro’s abilities–taking care of engineers, sneaking up on people, wasting ubers, imo these make Pyro a utility/defense/support class. Not that Pyro cannot be a terrific force of destruction, I have friends who will kill you so fast you won’t even know what happened. BUT I think Pyro would be better classed as a support class, and that is why, haha
