2017 Movie #5 – Hell or High Water (2016)

I’m catching up on some of my 2016 screeners before voting for the PGA Awards, and I put on the DVD for Hell or High Water. Two minutes into the movie, I was so bothered by the stuttery playback of the DVD screener that I popped over to iTunes to rent an HD version of the film instead.

It’s incredible to me that studios are willing to allow such a sub-par technical presentation of their movies to be the way so many people are judging their film’s merits for awards consideration. I understand that they are concerned about piracy, but this isn’t a good compromise that serves anyone.

That diatribe aside, the movie is fantastic. I loved everything about it. If you haven’t seen Hell or High Water yet, please take some time to check it out.
