When they get married, Keith tells Lance that their wedding won’t abide by gender roles, so they both get a best man and a maid of honor. Hunk and Shiro are the best men (Hunk is Lance’s, Shiro is Keith’s) and Allura and Pidge are the maids of honor (Allura is Lance’s, Pidge is Keith’s.) Coran officiates, Klaizap carries the rings, and Rover 2.0 is the flower bot.

anonymous asked:

Sometimes I wonder why the Jedi's healers, doctors and therapists (if they had therapists) didn't just storm a Jedi Council meeting one day and point out the physical and mental injuries and trauma Anakin needs to heal from as well as the psychological impact of going from the life of a slave, to a member of a highly conservative religious organization. I love that in your Librarian AU Jocasta addresses this but I wonder if she got the healers like Vokara Che on her side.

I think the answer to your question is contained within the question itself: the Jedi are a highly conservative religious organization.

I’ve never been a Jedi, obviously, but I do know a thing or 50 about life inside a conservative religious organization. And one of the major parallels I see there is an absolute belief that faith and right practice are enough to ensure mental and spiritual well-being. If you are practicing rightly, you will not be affected by trauma, by negative emotions, by mental illness. If you are affected by those things, you must be doing something wrong.

Yoda’s advice to Anakin in ROTS bears this out. I’m always a bit puzzled when I see people trying to justify Yoda’s advice, because listen: I’ve been on the receiving end of that approach so many times I’ve lost count. It’s not some otherworldly, fictional attitude. Yoda’s approach to pastoral counseling (if you will) is basically standard practice in fundamentalist religious circles.

Everything feels like it’s falling apart so you go to your spiritual leader and all he does is tell you everything you’re doing wrong. You need to let go. You need to trust. You need to have faith and follow the teachings and stop asking questions. Your doubt is probably to blame for all of your problems in the first place. The teachings of the faith tell you everything you need to know. Accept them and rejoice in your suffering.

Of course the Jedi don’t have therapists. That would require admitting that trauma and mental illness exist, that they aren’t things people can simply think or will themselves out of by following the right religious steps. It would mean admitting that so-called negative emotions are normal and valid and can be worked through in a healthy way - and even admitting that sometimes they are a positive thing.

The Jedi Order, as an organization, cannot admit those things without drastically changing many of their core beliefs and principles. Much less can they admit that their own structure and practice might be potentially harmful or even traumatizing to anyone.

Just A Stand In

There were two empty seats.
One next to Lance and one next to Pidge.
When Hunk walked into the room Lance didn’t doubt his best friend would choose to sit next to him.
Hunk walked right past him taking a seat next to Pidge and started chatting away without a care in the world.
It was in that moment that Lance knew that he had been replaced.
It was bound to happen eventually, he could document his life of brief friendships that at the time seemed like they would last forever.
Lance knew eventually Hunk would get sick of him too.
Everyone always did.
He was stupid to think that Hunk would be any different just because he had promised he would always be there.
That he would always have his back.
That he would always be his best friend.
Lance stood and calmly walked out of the room with tears falling freely down his face.
Not that anyone noticed.
After all why would they?
He was just the stand in friend.

lorde’s always done interesting things with rhyme so i’m fascinated with the “you’re such a damn liar” line - it’s not even pretending to rhyme, it’s jarring, and knowing how clever ella is with rhyme and how carefully she uses it i’m sure it’s deliberate - it rips you right out of the melody, it feels a lot more personal - and the subject matter is so specific, in a song that follows lorde’s usual pattern of being vague enough to be generally relatable and recreating an aesthetic rather than an event - i think there’s someone out there right now who thought “oh shit that’s me” as soon as they heard that. she wanted them to know they were being sung about.

Typical Traits of Mercury in the Signs

What style of communication do we use? How do we make decisions? How do we pick up, process, absorb, and exchange information? These questions are answered, in part, by Mercury’s placement by sign of the zodiac. Mercury refines the Sun sign, and it helps to define how we take in and give out information from the world around us.

ARIES:

  • fast decisions, often driven by the need for instant gratification
  • childishly assume that others will accept their opinion smoothly, criticism or negative feedback can be taken personally
  • excellent at promoting their new ideas

TAURUS:

  • rely on their senses when it comes to processing information (smells, noises, and mood)
  • brutally honest. That “say it like it is” style gets mistaken for rudeness and disrespect sometimes
  • when it comes to learning, they prefer demonstrations, concrete answers, and basic concepts

GEMINI:

  • they know a little about everything, though their learning is a little superficial — they generally have too many interests to delve too deeply into any one
  • a nervous energy here is unmistakable
  • able to quickly spot human weaknesses and then play around with them it’s done, usually, with a sense of humour

CANCER:

  • very subjective and personal (if Sun in Gemini or Leo they may come across as more sensitive than they actually are)
  • fast at forming opinions and making decisions on first impressions
  • best listeners of all the signs

LEO:

  • they speak with authority, some come across as know-it-alls
  • very attached to their opinions, taking pride in their beliefs, which are often rather idealistic, desire for self-expression
  • with intellect and ego so closely tied, the ability to separate fact from fiction can be complicated

VIRGO:

  • adept at organising, planning on a short-term scale, and doing errands
  • capable of learning a lot
  • rarely flashy in their communication style, but they do appreciate it when others acknowledge their brainpower

LIBRA:

  • very diplomatic,  long for equality in the intellectual world
  • trying too hard to score intellectual points instead of truly listening to people, which often comes across as self-centered
  • extraordinarily uncomfortable with extremes of opinions

SCORPIO:

  • tendency to focus on the false in order to get to the truth
  • very distrusting towards strangers’ opinions, therefore observant and wary
  • absolutely driven to win every argument, which they usually reach with the help of destructive criticism, sarcasm and manipulation

SAGITTARIUS:

  • communicate in an optimistic, forward-looking manner, their ideas are generally very big, not focused on details
  • restless intellect, they learn best when they are given the freedom to think for themselves
  • they’ll be the first to spot bias or prejudice in everyone else’s communication, but they can be a little blind to their own

CAPRICORN:

  • easily get frustrated when too much information is thrown at them at once, tend to close themselves off
  • don’t appreciate being taken off guard, and they quickly become impatient with people who don’t honour their word
  • ability to listen carefully and to choose their words wisely

AQUARIUS:

  • enjoy breaking the rules, even though they aren’t necessarily loud or flamboyant people
  • their perspective on issues can be delightfully unusual, quirky, and surprisingly insightful
  • always express their opinions, speak up for themselves, sometimes in a quite detached and even impolite way

PISCES:

  • an unpredictable way to communicate, you never know when they’ll be in a quiet mood or a yakking state
  • dreamy and indirect, it’s easy to adapt them to anyone’s belief or decision, they are an easy target
  • they instinctively express what others want to hear to make them feel comfortable, which often comes across as lies

  • feeling like a person, place, object, or body part has been duplicated or transported somewhere else (reduplicative paramnesia delusion)

a delusion is a belief or impression maintained despite being contradicted by reality or rational argument, if you are experiencing one or more of these delusions you may have a psychotic disorder or a disorder with psychotic symptoms

Tips on Writing Characters Without Faces

so yeah, we all know that facial expressions can tell us a lot about how a character is feeling, but what if that isn’t an option? how can you make someone emote if they don’t really have standard facial features? the answer; body language.

let’s consider how emotions are conveyed on a stage production vs movie with Sweeney Todd. First, the stage play:

Note how Todd’s entire upper body goes into his gestures, how he’s single-mindedly focused on his dreams and ideals; how his hands GRAB for each imaginary ‘man’ with these sharp, aggressive, destructive movements and how that contrasts with Mrs. Lovett’s body language; how her hands linger in the air and gravitate towards Todd even after he’s pulled away, and the slow turn she gives him. It does an excellent, though exaggerated, way of conveying their relationship (her focus is on him and making him happy, his focus is entirely on revenge)

Contrast this to the movie:

Same lines in the song, much more subtle. Lovett’s eyes still track towards Todds, which reminds us she’s still more focused on the outside, but all of the emotion is in their faces. Were this not a close-up shot in a movie it’d be very, very hard to read their expressions.

While I do recommend you watch a few stage plays (in person near the back row if you can) to actually study body language for yourself or try out charades with your face covered with friends/watch how cosplayers or mascots emote, here’s a few shorthands to get you started (US-centric so expressions may vary on your region):

Head:

  • perfectly still - fear, intense attention, feeling under scrutiny
  • tilted up - recollection, intimidation (looking down nose at threat, aiming to appear taller)
  • tilted down - intense thought, shame (avoiding eye contact), depression/sad feelings
  • turned away - not giving person full attention, avoiding subject/conflict without being combative
  • cocker-spaniel (sideways) tilt - confusion, curiosity, amusement

Hands

  • at the forehead - fatigue (wiping away sweat), illness (checking self for fever, feeling a headache), realization/memory (a ‘well duh’ tap)
  • at the eyes - fatigue or headache (shielding eyes from light), distress (blocking out a painful view, concealing tears)
  • at the nose - disgust (a pinch at the nostrils,) irritation (rubbing at sore spot on nose from glasses wear)
  • at the mouth - nausea, surprise, repressing an emotion/stopping self from saying something
  • at the chin - contemplation, tiredness (face resting in hand)
  • rubbing back of neck - a need to relax tension, embarrassment, slight unease/desire to distract self
  • at the chest - surprise, self-protection (reaction to a wounding statement, sometimes used sarcastically), strong emotions (clutching at heart, could be good-strong or bad-strong), need for security (touching necklace/adjusting clothing to conceal more)
  • at the stomach - pain (clutching, pressing), satisfaction after a meal, protectiveness towards fetus when applicable
  • at the hip(s) - confidence, intimidation, nervousness (if grabbing for weapon)
  • at groin - concealment/unease (usually male-coded as protection of genitals), politeness (hands folded in lap)
  • on thighs - exhaustion (bent over, hands on legs supporting tired upper body)
  • formed into fists - holding back an intense emotion, preparing to fight
  • toying with something - restlessness (bored, nervous energy, craving something they can’t touch) or deliberate disrespect of property (playing with personal objects someone holds dear as an intimidation tactic)

Arms

  • at sides, relaxed - default posture
  • at sides, tense - unease, restraint (soldier at attention, person holding still to avoid being attacked), fear
  • crossed at chest - disapproval, displaying authority, unease (hugging oneself)
  • crossed at stomach - pain, intense laughter (caused by sore stomach muscles from laughing)
  • up, fingers laced behind head - confidence, relaxation
  • one arm on back of furniture - confidence, invitation for someone join them
  • general rule - the further arms are away from body, the more confident/dominant a person means to appear; exposed torso indicates that they don’t see anyone around as a threat to them

Legs

  • square with shoulders - professional, restraint, protective stance
  • wide stance, one foot a little back but planted - defensive stance, expecting to receive blows (knees may be unlocked - seen in swordplay and fencing)
  • weight on one leg - relaxed, tired, may also be leaning on something or pair with one ankle tucked behind the other
  • uneven stance - could indicate old injury
  • foot tapping/bouncing - boredom, nervous energy

Whole Body:

  • stiff and still - fear, unease, standing to attention
  • limp or pliant - relaxed, tired, pleased
  • shoulders back/head up - alert, focused, aggressive
  • shoulders forward, hunched - tired, ashamed
  • leaning towards person - interest, intimidation (looming over them), aggression (usually paired with tense arms or hands in fists,)
  • leaning away from person - relaxation, confidence, disgust (recoiling)
  • smooth/fluid movements - joy, confidence, experience
  • stiff motions - fear (reactive, fight or flight), pain (reluctance to move), anger (either fighting to keep control of emotions or lashing out), cold (conservation of heat by keeping limbs near body)
  • cracking joints/stretching - preparing for a fight, often reading as confidence in abilities
  • general rule - close contact/proximity can read as intimidation (paired with tense body - an invasion of personal space) or affection (paired with relaxaed body language, gentle movement) or passion/attraction while distance can read unease/distaste/fear/dislike.

with those in mind, let’s read this scene from Red vs Blue (a personal fav of mine for body language) featuring agent texas from season 8.

So first of all, very relaxed upper body; limp arms held away from the body, which slowly come back to rest on her hips as she looks at what she’s done. Watch how her lean shifts at the end as her center of gravity shifts, and how she has to move her right leg to restabilize herself when she’s finished pushing it. This reads, in order from the start of the loop; detachment (the least amount of her body is involved in the action as possible), relaxation (smooth movements, the deliberation of those little steps backwards) and confidence (hands on hips.) We can tell a ton about this character just in this gif alone, based on her body language.

in summary! this list isn’t exhaustive, but hopefully it gives you some ideas for ways of making characters emote in fics when you can’t see their faces.

The extrovert's guide in dealing with introverted personalities

SUBMITTED by Steve

INxJs

-They can come off as … weird. Very subjective term because really, who’s to say what’s weird and what isn’t. But given that INxJs are arguably the rarest types and usually out of touch with the physical and concrete, it can definitely make the more down-to-earth extroverts out there feel as though they are alien in some way. But don’t be fooled, because behind those ambiguous stares there is a storm-load of activity going on in their minds.

- Their hunches can be incredibly valid. Unlike what the stereotype will have you believe, Dom-Ni is NOT a future-predicting function. For one thing, it’s very personal and subjective to each Dom-Ni user and some of them would probably disagree with each other on their hunches. However, they do have an ability to see things that a lot of us will miss. Not through any kind of mystical gift, but rather well thought out speculation. Even if they’re off, chances are they were still very wise in their assessment of things.

- There are usually your typical law-abiding citizen. (Good advice for everyone, not just extroverts) In complete contrast to the first point, INxJs may be way harder to spot than the stereotypes say. INTJs are not scientists working on a cure for cancer or world domination (depending where their Fi is at) and INFJs are not the next coming of Jesus Christ. A lot of them probably work in everyday jobs and there’s a good chance you’ve mistaken them for their S counterparts. Get to know them personally and you’ll see the difference.

ISxJs

- They are hard to get excited. Inferior Ne can be a bitch sometimes. Throwing fun suggestions at an ISxJ may often result in “Meh…” or “I don’t know…” Of all types, they are usually the hardest to pull out of their comfort zone. If you suggest something to them and they start bombarding you with questions such as ’‘What time? Who will be there? How does it work?”  etc. don’t get irritated because that actually means you’ve tickled their interest and now they’re just trying to cover all their bases.

- They are experts in their fields. Si-Doms tend to have very few interests in life, but what does interest them, they probably know the insides and outs of it, like no other. They love to study at length what peaks their interest and in this case, their factual knowledge about things is usually second to none. They are the definition of “vested interest”. Also note that they are geeks in disguise, so just like NP types, do not criticize old stuff they have an attachment to. They still like something from the 80’s? Then so shall it be. Telling them it’s stupid for them not to move on is actually much more hurtful than it looks.

- Their loyalty and commitment cannot be doubted. If an ISxJ say they’ll do something, they’ll do it, ‘nuff said. Hell, even if it turns out that it’s actually an inconvenience to them. They just cannot back out of commitment. Of course, stuff can always come up at the last second, in this case, you’ll receive a rain check or heart-felt apology. If an ISxJ actually does flake out, that’s … not okay, but they were probably hesitant about it from the start.

IxTPs

They are blunt. You want an honest and direct opinion? IxTPs will give you that faster than any other type. In many cases, it can actually feel brutally honest, so more sensitive types may wanna steer clear. Of course, if their opinion is splattered with insults and an impatient tone, then you’re dealing with an unhealthy type and that’s not okay.

- They are “dispassionate.” Sounds like a really negative trait but what it really means is they are the embodiment of “objective.” IXTPs very rarely take things too seriously with a burning passion flowing through their veins. As of such, cynicism and sarcasm is very likely. Don’t take it the wrong way though, because underneath that, they can offer the most practical advice or at least see things as they are, with no bias and emotional tones tainting their view. And while that can definitely be off-putting, and it can also be extremely useful.

Don’t try to turn a frog into a prince. I’m sure there is a better way to say this? What I mean is that Inferior Fe, even if healthy and mature, will always find it draining to keep up social appearances. You either appreciate this trait of theirs or keep looking elsewhere. But don’t expect to turn your IXTP love interest into a social butterfly overnight.

IxFPs

- They march to the beat of their own drum. If Dom-Ni can be hard to decode, prepare yourself for Dom-Fi. Like a fire, it is burning, passionate and unpredictable. Sometimes, even IxFPs themselves can’t pin-point the reason they feel so passionate about a given subject. Don’t try to constantly size up a Fi-Dom, you’ll get exhausted. Even their closest friends and family often have a hard time reading what’s going on in their mind. Respect their privacy and their inner world and don’t force them to lay out how they feel on the table.

- Support their causes. If an IxFP feels strongly about something, then this is unwavering to them. They will fight for what they believe in to the bone. You either support it or stay clear but telling them they’re wrong or it’s a waste of time may turn you into an “enemy” in their eyes.

- Do NOT attempt to control them. Offering sound advice? Sure. But any shade of “You should do this…” not only falls on deaf ears but may actually cause them to do the exact opposite out of spite. Dom-Fi is the ultimate free spirit who wants to experience life on its own terms and Inferior Te does NOT want to be told what to do. This can be pretty hard at times though. You see an IXFP loved one acting recklessly (ISFP) or acting on a crazy idea (INFP) it’s only normal for you to want to steer them on a straight path, but in actuality it will be counter-productive. Just stay clear and let them learn from their mistakes, IF it’s actually a mistake to begin with. You’d be surprised how many times acting on one’s own accord can pay off in the long run. There’s many world-renowned musicians and artists who could probably vouch for that.

Stereotyped vs Nuanced Characters and Audience Perception

Writing with color receives many questions regarding the stereotypes Characters of Color and their story lines may possess.

There’s a difference between having a three-dimensional character with trait variance and flaws, versus one who walks the footsteps of a role people of their race/ethnicity are constantly put into. Let’s discuss this, as well as how sometimes, while there’s not much issue with the character, a biased audience will not allow the character to be dimensional.

But first: it’s crucial to consider the thinking behind your literary decisions.

Trace your Logic

When it comes to the roles and traits you assign your characters, it’s important to ask yourself why you made them the way they are. This is especially true for your marginalized characters.

So you need an intimidating, scary character. What does intimidating look like on first brainstorm? Is it a Black man, large in size or presence? (aka a Scary Black Man) A Latino with trouble with the law? If so, why?

Really dig, even as it gets uncomfortable. You’ll likely find you’re conditioned to think of certain people in certain roles on the spot.

It’s a vicious cycle; we see a group of people represented a certain way in media, and in our own works depict them in the way we know. Whether you consciously believe it’s the truest depiction of them all or not, we’re conditioned to select them for these roles again and again. Actors of Color report on being told in auditions they’re not performing stereotypical enough and have been encouraged to act more “ethnic.”

This ugly merry-go-round scarcely applies to (cis, straight) white people as they are allowed a multitude of roles in media. Well, then again, I do notice a funny trend of using white characters when stories need a leader, a hero, royalty, a love interest…

Today’s the day to break free from this preconditioned role-assigning.

Sun thru the Houses

1H: the first house is the house of the self, and because the sun is representative of the self as well, this is a very healthy position for the sun to be in. this shows the type of person that is meant to put themselves out into the world, and to have a lasting impact on others. the sense of self is most likely pretty strong and associated with the aries archetype, since this is the natural ruler of the 1st house, and mars. this can give the chart holder a warrior like personality, one that must always be more forceful, assertive and able to stand up for themselves. they usually approach life with much vitality, strength and enthusiasm. these people must be appreciated, noticed and acknowledged for who they are. there is a strong desire to feel important and wanted as well, it is important to not let yourself become a tyrannical figure though, as that can be something common and associated with this placement of the sun.

2H: the second house is the house of worth and value, also security and possessions - physical possessions. with the planet of one’s vitality, self expression and ego coming in here, it lights up the part of us that needs to develop outer security and what one values. it is important for these people to learn what gives them a sense of security and fulfillment and not have to be dependent to find it through others, like their opposing 8th house represents. security would typically come through strengthening the ego and self, because that is what the sun itself represents. the individual with this placement must feel secure with themselves, so even if outer security is missing, they will feel an overall safety with life.

3H: the third house is the house of communications, knowledge, speech, and siblings. with the ego and self lighting up this house, the sense of self is derived from what this person knows. they must feel honorable about their own thoughts to feel a sense of purpose in life. they also must feel like they have been heard by others, nothing could be more sad than a third house sun person that is constantly ignored or feels ignored (perhaps if mercury is in the 12th house). these people are hardly ever satisfied with what they know, and are always looking to learn more, their hunger for knowledge is insatiable. there is always a need for this person to get their point or words across to others; through verbal speaking or the written word as well. there could be a talent or mastery of language.

4H: the fourth house is the house of where we came from, our roots, home, family, mother/parents, the deeper part of the psyche, what makes us feel safe, secure and at home. with the planet of the ego and vitality here, the person must feel honorable in the home environment; there is a need for the home to stable in order for this person to shine. imbalances in this environment can severely hurt or impact the chart holder, never to be forgotten. there can be a tendency to over identify with the family and not give yourself the chance to branch off and create a separate identity in your own life. it’s common for this person to have been an only child - the center of the parents’ universe, worshiped by the parents even. creative energy may be mustered up in the home environment.

5H: the fifth house is the natural ruler of leo and is ruled by the sun, so this is seen as a very healthy place for the sun to be in and shine to it’s fullest extent. the fifth house rules leisure, pleasure, romance, casual sex, gambling, risk taking, the general sense of fun, although that is something very subjective and personal to everyone. with the sun here, the person must feel honorable in what gives them a sense of pleasure and leisure. these two things are what the chart holder holds very highly and strongly values. there may be a strong creative force in the individual. the involvement of romance, fun or any theme falling in the fifth house enhances the chance of this person being a participant. however, there can be a need to always be the center of attention as well, especially when endeavoring these “fun” activities.

6H: the sixth house is the house of labor, daily routine and health. with the planet of the ego and vitality, there is a tendency for the overall sense of self to derive from work/service and one’s own general health. there is a need and constant motivational factor of improving the self and finding ways to be better at what ever it is they do. self imperfections or insecurities are always heightened here, because the ruling sign of this house, virgo, is highly critical and picky, especially of themselves. there is always room for improvement and fixing everything to it’s best ability, virgo believes. since this house rules one’s general health, with the sun here the individual must have a respectable relationship & honor their own body. there can be self-neglect because of the primary focus being of service to everything else but themselves. the sun here must learn to efficiently balance out their daily life and the self, realizing there can be nothing without their self anyway.

7H: the seventh house is the house of others, partnerships, marriage, open enemies. with the sense of self, ego and vitality coming to light up this house, the person must feel honorable in their relationships with others. however there is a common tendency to have a poor sense of self and vitality because the ego is so closely associated with others, rather than the self. they find themselves through others. relationships and partnerships or social interaction of any kind give them subtle clues to who they are more so than when they are on their own. this can be the type of person that does not ever want to be alone by choice, because of this fear of feeling completely lost within the self. it is true though, that they do need to be involved with people or others in some way.

8H: the eighth house is the house of privacy, intimacy, transformation and the occult. the sun represents the self, vitality and ego, so naturally when this comes into the eighth house, the ego and self seek personal transformation through acts of intimacy, occult studies or pushing themselves extremely hard to test their limits in life, and possibly find a sense of rebirth through doing so. this person pretty much yearns to feel emotionally connected to and bonded with something, there is an extremely intimate outlook on life. everything is profound in the eighth house, this person can be extremely wise and insightful because of their deep, complex dynamic make up, mostly because of their fascination with all things that are hidden from the public’s eye, their investigation of the inner workings of the self and others, as well as rather taboo subjects, can pay off rather well.

9H: the ninth house is the house of beliefs, higher knowledge, travel, foreign lands, and philosophy. with the sun, ruler of the personality, ego and one’s own vitality, there is usually an experimental nature towards one’s own belief systems - the individual can usually try out many throughout their life, until one fits their personal moral system the best, and which they must find honorable enough to expand and grow from. the individual with the sun here may view life as a voyage, a soul search or some type of pilgrimage. this person can be very concerned with the bigger picture and tend to neglect the finer details to their life. there can be an eternal wanderlust and desire to constantly grow internally and mentally; these are very acquisitive people. this is a common placement indicating visionaries, gurus, religious figures, spiritual practitioners. the self is designed to find inspiration through growing and developing the self more, and passing this inspiration on to others through their own beliefs and knowledge, as well as life experience.

10H: the tenth house is the house of one’s reputation, how one is perceived through the public eye, the persona, the career and one’s achievements. when the planet of one’s ego and personality, also vitality comes in the 10th house, there is a strong desire to be admired by others and recognized as someone. the sign of the sun specifically will give more clues to what it is exactly the person wants to be admired for. there must be an honorable relationship with one’s professional achievements and reputation. there can be a dependence on a parental figure for acknowledgment, or an inheritance to enhance the chances of acknowledgment. the person with sun in the tenth may over identify with tenth house matters and have a hard time forming a separate identity with any other part of themselves.

11H: the eleventh house is the house of social groups/dynamics, organizations, clubs, society, humanitarianism. when the planet of one’s identity and self comes in this house, there is a direct association of the self with whatever they are associated with. there can be direct association between the self and friend group, this is who they are. or what cause they believe strongly in. this person may be vastly involved in many different groups or organizations, and an interest in spreading their knowledge. the identity here is strongly linked to a higher cause than themselves. the self worth, worst case scenario, is derived from groups or friendships. relationships with friends, groups and organizations must be felt as honorable and secure through the individual with this placement.

12H: the twelfth house is the hardest house to describe because we do not truly know what is in there…generally it’s the house of the subconscious mind, the “back of the brain” where things are not commonly thought about or acknowledged, or seen. its the house of dreams, mysteries, escapism, illusions, sensitivity, spirituality…everything. it’s where things go to dissipate. it represents the things that are hidden from us, as opposed to the things we hide from others - it’s entirely unconscious in it’s workings, and extremely hard to describe or pin down accurately. with the planet of the ego, personality and vitality coming into neptune’s domain, the ego is washed away and dissolved. the boundaries between the self and outer world are extremely thin, these people are very sensitive to energy. the conflicting aspect of this placement is that the twelfth house is the furthest house from the conscious mind, and the sun itself is an extremely conscious energy. the individual with sun in the twelfth must learn to properly blend the workings of the spiritual realm and the things that cannot be seen, with the outer, more tangible realm. the ego is comfortable in spiritual practice, solitude and being of service to others. there is a fear of others not accepting them for who they are, so its more often than not that the individual with the sun here hides themselves from others and only comes out when alone. the sun here is easily tainted and colored by other energies and is felt the strongest when alone or secluded from others or things that may drain its energy. the sense of self is fogged and blurred by neptune. the ego must feel honorable in it’s spiritual views, acts of service and time alone. the uncertainty of the self that these people feel is what causes them to fall into the depths of depression or sadness. they can feel overwhelming guilt just for being who they are and expressing themselves, because there is some obligation they have to be there for others, and avoid ever being seen or felt as selfish.

**afflictions of the sun must be taken into consideration as well, as that can severely alter some of these characteristics.

The fact that Maggie’s wearing a suit in this picture

means so much to me. I’ve always hated wearing dresses and was never comfortable in them. It’s only recently that I’ve started gathering the courage to wear suits in front of my family and I’m still uncertain and scared about it each time. But to see this, a woman wearing a suit for a formal event, on a show like Supergirl just means the world to me. It’s not just a pantsuit she’s wearing to work or something like that, but a suit she’s wearing because she wants to dress nice for her girlfriend.

There are still so many people out there in today’s society that do a double take and stare when girls or women wear suits, with or without ties, as well as tuxedos. And to see Supergirl dress Maggie in a suit instead of a dress like many other shows would’ve done, makes me really happy. It’s helping to normalize women wearing something other than dresses. And quite frankly, this picture alone is helping me to realize that I have every right to wear a suit and I should be comfortable with my choice.

It’s fair to say that Lup cares, and Taako calculates.

Lup cares, sometimes so much that the feeling comes from her in flames. It’s a wild kind of caring, with overwhelming passion that can hurt to touch, that will absolutely burn and wound anyone who threatens someone she cares about. It’s the kind of caring that leaves no room for the compromise of ideals. She knows what is right, and what is important. She will fight an impossible enemy with no regard for the impossibility of its defeat. She will fight those she loves if it means saving them from darkness in their own minds.

Taako calculates. Taako hangs back, and observes. Survival (and sometimes just a good joke) are all in the timing, in collecting information and holding it close until the most benefit can be gleaned. It seems clever, it seems cold, but whatever it seems - it works. What is important is living, what is right is often up for debate. It’s ideal if the situation works itself out with no input from him, but if it does not, he and those he cares about will survive. Regrets are for later, when there is time. Regrets are so small in comparison to the horrific possibility of being alone, of failing in a way that is impossible to fix.

It’s fair to say that they learn from each other.

Lup calculates. Lup knows the right words to say to break the ice, Lup knows how to wait for the right moment to strike. Lup observes. Lup’s calculations are not always elegant, but they are effective. Lup has resolved untold arguments and accidental offenses with a well-timed comment - or a tirade, if the situation requires it.

Taako cares. Taako cares in awkward, unsteady steps, in little ways. Taako’s concern is a quiet and subtle thing; it’s easy to miss, easy not to notice until it has become established routine. Taako does not trust easily, but his trust is not an impossible goal. Taako makes barbed remarks with genuine advice, and cooks late at night when one or all of them can’t sleep.

cannot believe this needs to be said but bi people in m/f relationships literally still face homophobia and biphobia! existing openly as a gay/bi person makes you the subject of hatred, interpersonal violence, etc. plus lgbt people exist in a world that constantly expresses homophobic and transphobic sentiments and that continues to affect u no matter yr relationship status. also closeted ppl still. experience. homophobia and transphobia.

bi ppl can’t “opt out” of homophobia any more than gay ppl can and if ur trying to let cishets who don’t fuck or who like wearing diapers into the lgbt community because “but bi people in m/f relationships” then congrats! yr transparently biphobic as all fuck!

a/n: no sad ending dont worry , as always hope you enjoy, feedback is appreciated and requests are open also im gonna assume zach is a senior bc im not sure myself

Zach didn’t intend for you to find out, he hoped he could’ve avoided the whole tape situation. You and Zach were in a happy relationship, having meeting him at the end of junior year. He at first came off as a dick and an idiot, just trying to impress his idiot friends. But once you got to know him, he was a sweetheart who wanted to be a marine biologist. You loved Zach Dempsey and he loved you too.

You had your earbuds in listening to your playlist, and minding your own business. You were gonna meet your boyfriend Zach for lunch, and he was gonna take you out. Your peaceful walk was interrupted by an anxious Clay Jensen. “Hey Y/N.” Clay greeted you, you took out one earbud and gave him a smile. “Hi Clay.”

“How do you do it?” He asked, and you looked at him in confusion. “How do I do what?” You asked as the two of you kept walking. “How can you still date Zach after what he has done?” Clay asked and you stopped walking. The thing was that you were aware of the tapes, as you heard Zach’s conversations with Justin, Marcus and others. You didn’t mean to listen, it was simply walking in on the wrong time. But you never knew who were on the tapes or what they did. So hearing Clay tell you this was some surprising news.

“What did Zach do?” You asked slowly, not ready to hear what Clay was about to say. “I’m sorry Y/N, but Zach and Hannah had the same Communications class. And they were doing anonymous compliments, Zach had started taking Hannah’s compliments after she rejected him. Hannah had set up a trap and left a letter for Zach, which had very personal subjects. He found the letter and read it and Hannah said he threw it away. I really am sorry Y/N.” Clay explained and you couldn’t believe it.

You were silent, you couldn’t process the new information and you started walking towards the school entrance, Clay followed behind and spoke repeated “I’m sorry Y/N.” But you shook it off, “It’s fine Clay. I know you meant no harm.” Then you left the school and saw Zach parked out front, waiting for you. Zach noticed something was off once you entered his car, you didn’t greet him as usual.

Zach had drove to Rosie’s diner. You both entered and sat a booth and you sat across from Zach rather than next to him. You ordered your food and continued to sit in silence. “What’s wrong Y/N, you’re quiet. I miss your smile.” Zach asked, desperate to get a reaction from you. “Why the hell did you do it?” You asked, not look at him. “Why’d I do what?” He asked genuinely confused. “Why the hell would you do that Hannah? Even after knowing what had happened to her.” You asked, finally looking at Zach. “I don’t know why. I-I freaked out. I didn’t know she would react like that.” Zach shot back.

“Did you really throw away the letter?” You asked after moments of silence, your food arriving at your table. “No, I never threw it away. She was lying about that. Well I don’t know what she saw but I never threw it away.” He said, taking out his wallet and showing you the letter. The letter was folded up and kinda crumpled with ‘Zach’ written on top with Hannah’s handwriting. “I didn’t know she would react that way.” Zach said and you sighed, getting up and moving to sit next to Zach. “I hope you know I’m still mad at you. You’re kinda a dickhead for what you did.” You said in a matter of fact way. Zach laughed softly and moved his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him.

“I know I’m a dickhead. I regret what I did you know.” He spoke and you laughed. “Yeah but you’re my dickhead. I love you Zach Dempsey.” You said, pulling him into a kiss. “And I love you Y/N Y/L/N.” He said once the two of you pulled away.

hope you enjoyed the imagine !!
