persona 4 ultimate mayonaka arena

anonymous asked:

Hey what's the difference between p4, p4G, and p4U?? And could u include the anime versions please

Alrighty, buckle up, because I’m about to explain this whole clusterfuck. Screw it, I’ll go over the whole series, because the bulk of it is P4 spinoffs at this point.

  • P1: Revelations: Persona, the first game in the series
  • P2IS: Persona 2: Innocent Sin, the first half of the P2 story
  • P2EP: Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, the second half of the P2 story
  • P3: the vanilla version of Persona 3
  • P3FES: Persona 3 FES, an enhanced version of P3 that tweaks the balance and controls while adding a post-game sidestory
  • P3P: Persona 3 Portable, a PSP port of P3, keeps many of the adjustments from P3FES while adding the ability to play as a girl
  • P3M: four-movie adaptation of P3
  • P4: the vanilla version of Persona 4
  • P4G: Persona 4 Golden, an enhanced edition of P4 that tweaks the balancing and adds some new content (mostly fluff)
  • P4A: usually refers to Persona 4 Arena, a spinoff fighting game made by Arc System Works (the Guilty Gear dudes) that features characters from both P3 and P4 while bridging them in an original story
  • (however, the same abbreviation is sometimes used to refer to Persona 4 the Animation, which is an anime adaptation of the original game)
  • (while we’re at it, Persona 4 the Golden Animation is a second anime adaptation that mostly covers the extra stuff added in Golden; it’s not that great tbh)
  • P4U: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, a sequel to Persona 4 Arena that adds more playable characters and has a new story that continues where P4A left off
  • (in Japan, the P4U abbreviation refers to the original P4A, which is titled Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena)
  • P4DAN: Persona 4: Dancing All Night, a rhythm game spinoff that features remixes of songs from the game and a self-contained story featuring the characters
  • PQ: Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, a 3DS spinoff that takes the map-based gameplay of the Etrian Odyssey series and plops the P3 and P4 characters into an original sidestory
  • P5: Persona 5, oh thank fuck we’re finally done with the P4 stuff
