Running May Be Good for Your Knees
Knees of runners showed substantially lower levels of two types of cells that can contribute to inflammation and promote arthritis.
By Gretchen Reynolds

When people tell me I am ruining my knees for old age I roll my eyes* and explain that regular running can actually help cartiledge to regenerate. I had a knee injury in high school from soccer and I found that it wasn’t until regular running in college that my knee became strong again. It hasn’t bothered me since.

The widespread argument generally follows the lines that running will slowly wear away the cartilage that cushions the bones in the joint and cause arthritis. But there is little evidence to support the idea, and a growing body of research that suggests the reverse.

In Defence of Tony Stark.

Ok let’s see here.
Tony purposely held back from using his full power EVERY SINGLE TIME he fought Steve. Don’t believe me? Well clearly you haven’t fucking watched a single fucking movie with Ironman. The armour has literal missiles on it. It has that noise thing that makes people drop on they knees, screaming with their ears covered. It has repulser beam. If you don’t think that Tony could have literally KILLED Steve in a matter of SECONDS, you are fucking wrong. Because he could have.
Still don’t believe me?
Remember the first Ironman movie where Tony killed MULTIPLE terrorists in like two seconds flat? Because he could have done that to Steve if he wanted.
But he didn’t. He PURPOSELY didn’t fight with his full power.
So fuck off with your Tony hate because y'all are a shitty person.

did you ever end up doing that peggy x reader fic?

the one i wrote ages ago felt stilted, so i scrapped it, but i’m working on something else that’ll hopefully pan out because i really don’t want to abandon dom!peggy.

Starting out with the intention of becoming reacquainted with my self-portraiteur and accidentally ending up taking outfit photos; which I have rarely ever done.

Getting to know my body as it is now… More disabled and much smaller than before, I feel like a stranger some days. Simultaneously learning to shed shame and embarrassment of doing things that make people stare. Even when I appeared fully able-bodied I struggled with this. Far too much scrutiny on the individual, at the same time, much of it is self inflicted.

I think something that’s rarely talked about is how the fashion industry markets certain silhouettes to certain body types and doesn’t put much effort, if any at all, into adopting the silhouette to different body types properly when they create different sizes of the same garment. Even when things are made available to different body types technically, they aren’t really made available because little effort is put into it and it won’t look the same as it does on the body type it was originally marketed to

Like I can’t wear hi-low dresses or skirts bc they’re marketed to taller people and the lengths generally aren’t proportioned properly to the smaller sizes, so the ratios are off and the front is usually longer for me than it is for taller people- reaching my knees instead of mid-thigh like it usually is intended to be

Like literally if the fashion industry put an effort in to adopt silhouettes to different sizes, and actually took how the garment will fit on other body types into account when they’re making different sizes, the sizing wouldn’t be awkward and it would save a lot of grief. Especially for plus size people because not many silhouettes are marketed towards them.

And yes I know conventional standards of beauty are bullshit and people can technically just wear whatever the fuck they want, but realistically it feels shitty when you try something on and it doesn’t look the same on you as it does on everyone else.
And since this is a very specific thing that’s not talked about much most of the time people just feel like shit about themselves and like they’re just undesirable when really it’s an issue of how clothes are targeted at certain body types and not made available to look the same on others. Plus of course socialization due to fatphobia and misogyny but that’s another issue entirely.

I had a dream that I met bastille and all I did was blush

Quickly!! Everyone give Gregory kisses! The boy deserves em!!

Haha, oh man. Found the Manga, finally, and I’m just… In love with this boy all over again. I wish I could just give him nice things and hugs.

Okay “in love” sounds a bit off out of context. I mean like fam love, man. Let me adopt this old man. He can be my son or my grandpa instead.

Anyways… He’s so small in the manga, I’m so mad… Who allowed this. He’s TINY? HE REACHES PEOPLE’S KNEES…
