You Know What I Love About Boku No Hero Academia?
  • this show fills me with so much goddamn motivation it’s insane
  • i’ve never been so emotionally invested so fast – i was crying in the first damned episode, and then right afterwards when all might told deku that he, too, can be a hero. i barely knew deku, but it got me so much.
  • the simplistic art style makes me want to squish deku’s cheeks also it’s just such a cute soft style which allows for dynamic and explosive action
  • these characters have their own goddamned goals, and you can bet they’re gonna damned do whatever it takes to reach them
  • amazing kickass poignant soundtrack by Yuki Hayashi, who’s also done the Haikyuu!! soundtrack
  • all the girls are Best Girls
  • what a faithful adaptation ohmygoodness – especially the action scenes, Umakoshi (the character designer) keeps it pretty much the damned same as it is in the manga
  • kudos to Nobuhiko Okamoto for destroying his vocal cords voicing Blasty McSplode he’s so invested in his character i’m just blown away
  • every single character (except Mineta ohgod but i’m holding out for him he does have the potential) is so lovable you’re gonna bet you’ve adopted all these kids sooner or later
  • and they’re all so unique?? not just their Quirks, but their personalities, their designs … no one feels like a knockoff copy of another, the whole thing feels very dynamic and real
  • KEEP WALKING FORWARD, NO MATTER HOW TATTERED YOU BECOME
  • hello yes we have anime parents here who are involved in their kids’ lives
  • minimal fanservice that’s honestly mostly just a gag??? bless
  • does not focus exclusively on deku; while it is his story, other characters are given a fair amount of screentime as well, which adds to the dynamics as well as room for loads of character interactions and hence development
  • Bakugou Katsuki
  • i’m so happy for Horikoshi he must be living his dream with such amazing people bringing his work to life (like Umakoshi and Yutapon to name a few)
  • villains who aren’t about petty stuff like revenge and world domination but who think society itself, and hence the system, needs to be changed in order to expose how fragile the justice system really is
  • no deus ex machinas here folks it’s all about what you can do and if you can’t do it you’re gonna pay the price (well i mean you could argue about deku vs shinsou but shhh)
  • all these characters are so vibrant and exploding with personality it’s like locking yourself in an ice cream parlor and going insane
  • females don’t take the back seat
  • you can do anything if you let yourself, if you believe in yourself, if it’s what you want with all your heart and soul, you can do it and you will do it
  • older characters like coaches and teachers and even the pro heroes aren’t just figures of respect, the show actually makes fun of them and lowers them down to the same level as the kids so we can actually connect with them instead of them being these daunting, stiff-upper lip characters
  • work hard, shed tears and sweat and blood and you can literally be anything you want to be, there is no limit to what you can achieve
  • class 1-A is a goddamned family you better bet they’re gonna show up at each other’s weddings

  • for telling me that I can do anything
  • and for filling me with such raw hope and inspiration that my chest literally aches with it
  • thank you
  • KEEP WALKING FORWARD
  • NO MATTER HOW TATTERED YOU BECOME
How to Attract the Signs

ARIES:

Let Aries know that you admire them, they thrive of admiration and followers. Let them know that you love their zest for life and that you find them intriguing, they love compliments more than most other astrology signs of the zodiac.

Compliment them physically and mentally, they like conversations about intellectual topics and engage them in a lively discussion, or a friendly debate. They love the challenge and the stimulation of good, intelligent conversation. Ask them for advice, let them know that you look up to them.

Remember, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and the most forward and independent, they love followers. Do not be a push over, do not keep your opinions to yourself because Aries will quickly get bored if you agree with everything they say. Do not attempt to control them however, they do not like taking orders. Aries are very capable people so if you go with their plans, you are sure to have a good time! If they have a suggestion for something to do, go with the flow, they like to be in control of what goes on.

TAURUS:

Do not attempt to rush into a relationship with Taurus. They are very patient and expect you to be so too. Make them laugh, if they are amused and entertained by you, they will enjoy being with you. The way to a Taurus’ heart is through their stomachs. Cook for them or offer to take them to a fine upscale restaurant. Taurus enjoy talking about finance, business, money and material possessions.

GEMINI:

Love to talk, that is the first rule about impressing a Gemini. Be knowledgeable about that you talk about too because Gemini are intelligent and have lots of knowledge about many things. If you are an expert on a certain topic, teach them about it, you will impress them because this know-it-all sign does not usually know fine details about a lot of things, they are too busy to bother to learn. Speak your mind, engage them in a friendly debate but never be too conservative, they find this dull. Be honest and loyal to a Gemini, once they have had their trust broken they usually will never get it back again. Gemini are easy to date, they will do any activity anywhere. Just have fun, like you would with friends because that’s what Gemini are, a great friend.

CANCER:

You must be direct, Cancer will not. Let your feelings for them be known, this is the first step to initiating a relationship with a Cancer. This way, will not have to risk rejection, one of their biggest fears. If you are looking for a short fling, be straight with them. Do not lead them on to thinking there is long term commitment is there is none because you will hurt these emotionally delicate people.

Trust is the most important. Build trust with them and they will gradually get closer to you. Give them approval and compliments but be careful because they will easily sense when you are complimenting them just for the sake of it. Be sincere. Ask Cancer for advice, share your problems (but don’t burden them), they enjoy helping people and giving advice.

They like culture and lavish experiences. Take them to a play or museum and a fancy, upscale restaurant. Do not force Cancer into a relationship or make them make a decision on the spot. They will shy away from you. Have patience, this is the key to attracting a Cancer. Be physical with them, they love genuine affection. They are very cautious and as time passes, they will slowly grow closer to you and you will have wonderful, fulfilling relationship.

LEO:

Admiration is key. Admire them and they will be yours. Leo is a fairly easy sign to attract they are very receptive to advances and come-ons. Give them compliments, dish them out in handfuls because Leos never think a compliment can go too far. Even if you are faking it, they don’t care, the simply love the attention. Be funny, Leos love to be entertained and they love to laugh. If you can make them laugh, you’re good! Leos like the grand things in life, treat them to a lavish dinner or a cultural upscale event. Always have the best of the best and never try to offer them second rate. They think nothing is too good for them, they like everything posh so dress classy and nice, and have a good night on the town with the charming Leo!

VIRGO:

Virgos need intellectual stimulation. Impress them with facts and details. Always try to come to conclusions when having a conversation, they do not like topics that go nowhere, they like conversations to come to a close or consensus, even if you agree to disagree. They are very conventional people so do not do anything spontaneous or force them to make a hasty decision, they take their time and think intensely in their mind. They are not slow, their brain is working evaluating everything. Do not attempt to probe inside their mind because their emotions are pretty much closed off until the relationship is solid, and they will decide when that time will be. Virgos are natural worriers, do not let this get to you. Do not give them cause to worry because this makes them get wound up like a spring. Let Virgo take the lead, they like to be in control of what is happening. Keep the date tasteful and do not be vulgar, they like calm and classy surroundings and people.

LIBRA:

Libras are easy to attract, they probably have attracted you first with their easygoing nature. First and foremost, admire and flatter them. Treat them like a prince or princess. Libras love to talk, they can talk about anything but are especially interested in themselves. Want to leave a lasting impression on a Libra? Ask questions about them and talk about their interests, hobbies, anything regarding them. Even though Libras are diplomatic, they enjoy seeing things from other points of view. Engage in a light debate about an issue exploring both sides and the conversation will flow. Dress nice, keep the atmosphere posh and upscale and clean your house before they come over for the first time. First impressions are lasting for Libras. Have fun, be yourself, you are almost guaranteed a good time with the easygoing, interesting Libra.

SCORPIO:

Never be fake with a Scorpio, they can see it a mile away. Be genuine with your comments and listen to them attentively, (they always have something interesting to say so this is never a problem!) Do not try to hide things from them or tease them, they always have to know what is going on. Remember, they are the only ones that are allowed to tease and present the mystery and intrigue! They like frankness and honesty, speak your mind they will respect that. Scorpios are interested in almost all activities, so finding something to do should never be a problem. They are unpredictable and could change the course of the date mid-way though so take these last minute changes with a smile and try something different. They like people who are not afraid to ditch a plan and try another. In conversation, do not tell them that their opinions are wrong or shoot them down, they are too proud for this and even if it is a joke, they might not take it with the humour that you meant. Never try to control them but do not be the damsel in distress either, they like strong, real people with driving ambitious personality like theirs.

SAGITTARIUS:

Talk to them, ask them questions about themselves, share stories, make them laugh, but do not pry into intimate details about their life. Keep your emotional distance and they will be attracted to you. Easy. Suggest an outdoor date, something wild and wacky like floating on a boat down the river then having a picnic by the riverside, anything. They love activities. These are the easiest people to get a date with but don;t think that this is written in stone, they are the biggest commitment phoebe of all zodiac signs. Enjoy the time you’ve spent with Sagittarius and be prepared to move on or at least share them with others because they will be doing the same. All in good fun.

CAPRICORN:

Make them laugh, they tend to be melancholy so anyone who can make them laugh is appreciated. Talk about anything but do not pry into their emotions. They do mind listening to yours, however. When Capricorn feels safe, they will let some of their cats out of the bag.

Talk about serious topics, things that matter and avoid unconventionality, they are very conventional people and do not like shock-topics. They like to be connected to on an intellectual level. They like gifts, not gaudy and expensive but practical and useful. Keep it high class, they do not like second-rate gifts or dates for that matter. Plan an upscale date to an art gallery, theatre or fancy restaurant.

Never be late. Capricorns are very punctual and live by a schedule and they do not like to be kept waiting, it shows irresponsibility. Be patient with Capricorn, underneath that aloof, indifferent outside lies a physical, passionate loyal person that will come out when the time is right, once you have proven yourself.

AQUARIUS:

Communication is key. You must be able to stimulate their minds, engage in a friendly, witty verbal battle but do not expect to come to any conclusions, this is not the point. They crave the brain exercise. If you unable to keep up with the intellect and the unconventional ways that Aquarius is known for, you might want to look elsewhere.

Aquarius needs communication compatibility more than anything else. Have variety in your dates, think of interesting things to do like a trip to the zoo, but if you can’t think of any crazy idea, leave it up to Aquarius to make plans but do not be surprised if they change the plan in the middle, be flexible like them. They do not like naggers or complainers so keep the talk positive and all should be well.

PISCES:

Talk about spirituality, the occult, astrology, anything that is out of reach of the real world. They will easily get lost in a good conversation. Although they are attracted to people with severe problems who desperately need help, this actually does more harm them good. Even though Pisces will offer to make everything right, do not allow them to take on all your problems because they will lose their identity in your situation. They need a strong positive partner to make them strong. Pisces like adventure, new situation and social events and will be up to doing almost anything that you suggest. Make them laugh, they are usually melancholy and will be impressed if someone has the ability to make them laugh. They are not very conservative people so do not be afraid to talk about unconventional or strange things and tell them odd jokes, they will be impressed by that. They are suckers for flattery give them compliments and tell them in a roundabout way that you admire them. Be sensitive, generous and gentle, make them feel comfortable with you and make them feel good about themselves and all will be smooth sailing!

hello, i’m erin.

i’m really poor, my family is financially unstable all the time because my parents have walking/moving disabilities and it’s hard for them to find proper jobs since they can barely move. lately we’ve been having major financial problems.

they both used to work until the thing i was afraid of happened; my diabetic mom’s health condition started getting worse and worse. she couldn’t handle the pressure and the bullying at work so she had to quit her job. however, her health is the main priority in this entire thing so i don’t blame her at all.

as for now, my father is the only source of income. his monthly salary is $150 and as you can see that’s far from enough to maintain three people. i’ve tried to get a job myself but no one wanted to hire me because i’m a minor.

for the past few months my mom’s illness has been progressing, we even got her a wheelchair since she couldn’t walk at all. she needs a damn expensive diabetic healthcare course right now. my father works day and night just to gain some money. also, i contributed with my savings even though it wasn’t much.

yesterday, she got into a diabetic coma. it’s a life-threatening diabetes complication that can lead to death if it’s left untreated. in the case of my mother, it is fatal. the treatment that can help is extremely expensive and i have no idea what me and my dad are supposed to do in this situation.

our efforts are not enough for my mom’s medical assurance. the amount of money we have by now can provide only around half a month (if not less) of medicines. my dad is working all the time he doesn’t even sleep at this point, it’s a miracle if he gets at least 2 hours of sleep a day. but unfortunately it’s never enough.

i feel pathetic and useless, the tears are streaming down my face as i’m typing this and the fact that i can’t help in any way is killing me. it’s an obvious fact that she is going to die if we don’t pay for the medical assurance. please help, i really don’t want to lose my mother she means the world to me.

only money can help us in this harsh situation so if you can donate i’ll be forever thankful.

if you can, do it through paypal. my paypal email is: erinrin.rin@mail.ru

any amount will be highly appreciated, i’m not asking for much, really. also reblog this please, it does matter and i hope i’ll find people who can help. i’ve seen people on here do wonderful things to help people in need just like me. i truly believe that you have the power to save my mother. i will try to post this on gofund me as well so hopefully more people will get to know about my terrible situation. i know i already posted about my mother’s condition around 1 year ago on my another account and i’m really sorry for sharing my situation again, but back then it wasn’t even half as bad as it is now. i need your help now more than ever so please be understanding. i truly hope that you kind people can help us. it’s totally okay if you don’t donate though, just keep my mom in your prayers please, it means a lot.

i’m desperate please help, i’m begging you, i don’t want to lose my mother.

thank you so much.

How to win the sign’s heart

Aries:  Be persistent, calls and texts and conversations about everything and anything catches their interest.  Also be willing to go with their plan.  An Aries will be most attracted to someone with ambition and a dream, just as long as it fits with theirs.

Taurus:  A Taurus will be attracted to an uplifting friend, someone who wants to pick everyone’s spirits up.  Validation and attention is very important.  A Taurus will be attracted to someone with an appreciation for the things important to them, someone who will listen to their opinion and respect it.

Gemini:  Gemini is incredibly different from most people.  They want to talk, but they don’ t want to be around people.  Show them that you understand their swings, or at least are trying to.  Let them play their music when you hang out, let them show you the places they find exciting.  A gemini will be attracted to someone who is weird and unlike the rest, accept your strangeness and be proud for it.

Cancer:  Be loving, sensitive, and treat them kindly.  Also be conscious of the fact that some cancers like to do things their own way, even the little things like using the vacuum, they do their way because it is best.  Cancers love the cheesy rom-com type.  Plan cute little outings and show them you can be the sweetest person alive.  Cancers are attracted to people who live for fairy lights, Christmas, and cuddles.

Leo:  They like people who dress and look well, you don’t have to be the prettiest person in the world, but act like you are.  Don’t be confused though, they do not like cocky people, just confidence.  Take care of yourself and spend time on your look.  Leos are not attention seeking in the way that they want the world to revolve around them, but more in the way of they want you to check in or respond quickly to their texts.  Leos are attracted to the happy, secure, and fashionable.

Virgo:  Virgos will look at how you treat others and what your mind is like.  They like people who show they have depth and the willingness to learn.  Reading books and having a large vocabulary will make you look extremely desirable.  Be their partner in learning a new language, or trying a new exercise program.  Virgos also like the luxurious things in life, keeping your living space clean and keeping up with the times will win you a place on their list.  Virgos are attracted to the kind, respectful, and intellectual.

Libra:  Treat a Libra like they are you world, and know that they will be understanding when you cannot always be talking.  Be cute with them and show you have an interest in dorky things, they find this interesting.  Movie marathons, reading books, and having a poetic nature is attractive to them.  Libras often have a diverse population in personality.  They either want the popular to be on the homecoming court with their girlfriend or boyfriend.  If not that, they want a partner in singing a duet or dancing.  Libras are attracted to those who are naturals in being companions.

Scorpio.  A scorpio will be very analytical about the person they date, the person will often be a reflection of them.  Scorpios see what you wear, how you do your makeup, how you show your personality by external appearances.  If this scorpio is the stoner, skater, let’s watch the regular show until 3 AM type, they will be attracted to those who showcase they are similar throw fashion and expression.  A scorpio is attracted to an interesting and exciting personality, someone to decode.

Sagittarius:  Sagittarius doesn’t want to sit around all day when it comes to dating.  They want to talk about travel and they want to go somewhere.  Express your interest of going on daytrips to unusual places, like uncharted ghost towns and a ski town hours away from your local suburbia.  A Sagittarius is often attracted to someone who’s first language isn’t theirs, who belongs to a different religion, or someone who comes from a separate culture all together (being from a different part of the country or the world).  Sagittarius is attracted to people from far away, or who have the dream to go far away.

Capricorn:  Give Capricorn your full attention, for whatever they might be talking about.  A Capricorn will fill the house with conversation, it is their first instinct for expression.  Don’t be condescending to yourself, them, or other people.  Show that you are confident in yourself to the point that you do not need to drag others down.  Capricorn do not get along well with the overly emotional, as they are sometimes a lot more busy thinking about themselves than anyone else.  Be able to understand sarcasm and deliver it back.  Capricorn are attracted to the intelligent, independent, and reliable.

Aquarius:  An Aquarius will be drawn to those who make themselves know, not always in the way of being outgoing though.  They like those who express themselves in creativity, whether this be drawing, painting, dancing, film, etc. they will appreciate it beyond measure.  Aquarius likes the people that understand space, that it is okay to be alone for a while and to need to not be with people all the time.   Give them time to make the first move.  An Aquarius will be attracted to those that go with the flow and want to make their dreams work.

Pisces:  Pisces are interesting people.  They are emotional, and in these emotional times they might want a hand to hold, or they want you to leave them the fuck alone.  Pisces want someone who can keep up with their ever-changing wants and needs.  Like gemini, they want to surround themselves with the weird who are proud to be different.  Pisces is attracted to easygoing commitment.

We need to be as good at lifting up as we are at calling out

In advocacy/activist space, we’ve gotten really good at noticing and naming oppression. We’ve gotten really good at criticizing the things that people are doing wrong, and demanding change. We’re also good at noticing organizations and people who shouldn’t be supported, and explaining why people shouldn’t support them.

This is important — and it’s not enough. We need to be equally good at noticing and naming things that *are* worth supporting. We need to be equally good at noticing what people are doing well, describing why their approach is good, and finding ways to support it. Calling out isn’t enough. We need to seek out things to lift up.

When we focus exclusively on finding things to call out, we send the implicit message that nothing good anyone is doing is worthy of our attention. But none of the work of building a better world happens by itself. It depends on the people who are putting the effort into doing the work. When we ignore the value of the work people are doing, we both harm those people and the work itself.

The work is hard, exhausting, and vital. It’s also often thankless — because we’re not acknowledging it in the way we need to be. Often, doing activism and advocacy means signing up for a life of being paid less than a living wage (or volunteering your very limited time), having your work ignored, and being noticed by your community only when people are angry at you.

This is particularly common when the work is done by marginalized people. Our culture socializes us to ignore the work that women and other marginalized groups do, except when we find reason to criticize it. This dynamic carries over into activism/advocacy spaces. It’s just as toxic when we do it as when corporations do it.

There’s nothing inevitable about this. We can make it stop. We can pay attention to the work people are doing, and we can show respect to the people doing it. We can describe the worthwhile things people are doing, and talk about why they should be valued. We can seek out ways to support what people are doing, whether that means donating, signal boosting, going out and voting, connecting people to each other, or any number of other things. By getting just as good at support as we are at call outs, we can make the world much better.

anonymous asked:

As you're nearly 30 now, what would you have told your 20 year old self if you had the chance? Do you have any advice or tips for people currently in their early 20's, possibly in college and worried about the future? Any advice to help build self-esteem and to achieve what they want? Thank you.

Combined with the following ask:

  • Do you have any tips for how to improve self-esteem and confidence? I think I may be an xNTJ but years of bullying, betrayal, depression, and bereavement have left me feeling pretty low and worthless.

A few thoughts below.

To my 20 year old self

  • You can be right and still lose the argument. How you communicate to someone and how you deliver the message is just as important as the contents of the message itself. If you disregard the nuances of other human beings and come off as a total asshole, they’ll completely shut down and reject your input no matter how great it is.
  • Don’t fight battles with no rewards. If people can’t stop you, they’ll try to distract you so you’ll trip over your own feet and sabotage yourself. Don’t let them.
  • Older people may be less intelligent than you, but they have more experience– listen and learn. Even idiots can teach you what not to do.
  • Shut up. Most situations don’t require your input, your action, your reaction, or your intervention. Often times it’s like throwing gas on a fire to put it out. If you’re patient and wait, the answers tend to reveal themselves or the problem will solve itself.
  • Always do your laundry, there’s nothing worse than running out of clean underwear.

On building self-esteem and confidence

  • Stop explaining yourself to people who have already made up their minds about you. It’s a waste of time so tend to the relationships with the people who genuinely care for your well-being.
  • Finish. Quitting is a pathological disorder that can spread to other areas of your life. If you quit at one thing, the odds are you have low resilience and you will give up at other endeavors in your life. No matter what– finish. Get to the end. No matter how imperfect you think the outcome will be, finish. You’ll either have a sense of accomplishment from having completed something, lessons learned from the failure, or both.
  • Small victories build confidence. If you can’t do the small things correctly, you won’t be able to tackle the big things. If you can’t wake up in the morning and jog a mile consistently then you’re not going to be able to climb Mount Everest. Patience is key and biting off more than you can chew will often end in failure and demoralization. Practice makes perfect, and progress takes time.
  • Pain is weakness leaving the body. Build your tolerance by trying new things outside of your comfort zone, push yourself when you feel like you want to quit, and confront the things you fear the most. Similar to lifting weights, the only way your body can grow stronger is by steadily increasing the weights until you can bear heavier burdens. The more you do this, the easier it becomes.
  • Be a thermostat, not a thermometer. That is, be consistent in your values, personality, and habits– don’t let your emotions and behavior mold to your environment because you’ll always be in a state of flux. It makes you vulnerable to other people dictating your moods.
  • Follow your heart but take your brain with you. Do the things you love but in a logical and planned way. Don’t question your goal if it’s what you truly want to do, but scrutinize your method because that’s what will determine success or failure.

On college

  • Evidence is more powerful than theory. In college and in the real world, you must be able to prove your abilities with evidence because just being “smart” isn’t enough. That evidence is superior performance, high grades, high test scores, and strong internships. You can’t stroll into a job interview and debate the interviewer, declare victory, and secure the position. Come with proof.
  • Do well no matter what. Even if you’re unsure about your major, never let your performance slide because GPAs are cumulative. If you only do well in the subjects you love, it will reveal to employers that you have selective motivation. This is a problem because in the real world you won’t enjoy everything assigned to you even at a job you love and employers need to have confidence you can still succeed.
  • Who you know is as important as what you know. Connections matter in the real world, don’t overlook building relationships with people who will be your peers, your friends, future colleagues, and potential future bosses for the rest of your life and professional career.
  • Don’t fuck around. If you’re paying thousands of dollars in tuition and going into debt, make sure you pick a career that can sustain you after you graduate. No matter how much you love fine arts, if you go $100,000 into debt at 6.5% interest, your life will be extremely difficult. Find a balance between what you love and what can support you.
  • Have a job offer before you graduate. When you’re a student, you have the luxury of being an intern and trying new things without companies having to navigate complicated labor laws. Once you graduate, you’re just another unemployed person. Take advantage of the time you have as a student to seize those opportunities so the transition post-graduation is seamless.

“Well, yes, ma'am, I do… I mean, I got everything I need right here with me. I got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning not knowing what’s gonna happen or, who I’m gonna meet, where I’m gonna wind up. Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people. I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You don’t know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you… to make each day count.”
Bathtub Bacta

So… I have a guilty love of the prohibition era.  I’dd never want to LIVE then, but int terms of really interesting social dynamics, fashion, art and narrative possibility, its really, really interesting.   During the ‘Would-Bacta-work-as-lube?“ question posed by @poplitealqueen a few months ago, I set about scouring-SCOURING, I TELL YOU- Wookieepedia and all my SW-related material to find out what Bacta actually COST, and how it operated, to answer the question of whether it was economically and practically feasible.  And I found out that:

1. It apparently makes ideal lube, as long as you don’t mind the smell of Pineapple.

2. It’s basically ultra-thick saline with suspended nutrients and ACTUAL BACTERIA in it.

(so, these next couple conclusions are made in the face of conflicting canons, but it’s the one that makes the most sense for how shit plays out)

3. Bacta is the GMO reconstruction of Kolto, which is a psuedo-parastic microorganism that may or may not be related to midichlorians that alters it’s DNA to turn into the host’s cells.  (IDK it’s science fiction, roll with it) Kolto was the more effective substance, able to treat things like cirrhosis, brain damage, etc,- but was wiped out by a virus during the KOTOR era as part of a plot to get rid of the Jedi.

Good job guys.

So Bacta is the GMO they managed to cobble together afterwards with the remaining info they had, and while it’s pretty miraculous as a traumatic injury treatment, it doesn’t do chronic diseases like Kolto did

4. Bacta is literally grown in cultured vats, much the way insulin is farmed today.

5. While it’s heavily regulated in the TPM era, because it’s MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, it’s still really easy to grow once you get your startup costs out of the way.

6. The expensive part of bacta is the administration devices- bacta doesn’t do well in tubes, so you either need to keep a small live colony (a bacta tank ala ESB), or flash-freeze them in the ultra thick saline, and have a small…bacterial microwave, essentially, to thaw bits of it out for use.

7. During the clone wars, Palpatine subsidized the crap out of the bacta industry so he’d have enough for his army and the worlds loyal to him- post 66, he was a punitive asshole who controlled all "legitimate” (but not necessarily well-run) bacta production, and would just not ship it to worlds he didn’t like.

The point I’m getting at is- The conditions are PERFECT for there to be a massive Bootleg Bacta trade starting in TPM and going all through the empire (and into TFA probably, we’ll see what the timeline looks like once this all shakes out)  Just thing- ALL the shenanigans people got up to with bootlegging, but with bacta.

People with illicit ‘stills’ in the basement, people doing insane planetary runs to get it to worlds in need- or pirating Imperial ships for the stuff.  Kids going to school with an “ice pack” in their lunch bag, only to give the frozen bacta to their Rebel-sympathizing teacher.  Imperial Facilities get raided by Bacta Pirates, not for the shitty imperial strain, but literally to pull the piping and saline tanks out of the walls.

Of course, some people are gonna be unscrupulous and cut corners with their vats, resulting in horrible mutant strains that do god knows what (but that’s another plot bunny).  Or Strains of bacta that are more refined and effective, because much of the scientific Community was not friends with Sheevy P, even before the war.

AND CLONES WOULD KICK ASS AT BACTA FARMING- because a LOT of bacta farming happened On Kamino, and hell, it was probably part of chores to tend to the tanks. “Feed the vats so your brothers can live”

The HARD part about starting your own farm is
1. finding/making suitable vats
2. GETTING YOUR HANDS ON A GOOD STRAIN.

Kix becomes an unintentional fucktillionaire distributing the Kamino strain.  He wasn’t even charging, people just kept giving him money. “Uncle Jesse’s Extra-Viscosity Varmint Grease” is the joke name of the best strain.  Kix is SO MAD that drunk Jesse named it that but you know? No imp inspection officer has ever wanted to open those barrels.

The things people pretend to be shipping instead of bacta though, which might actually include booze:

"Booze! Twelve million gallons of Zanbar Blue!“
"Oh that stuff is gross. Carry on.”

Also, the REALLY enterprising people who figure out how to start mixing spice in with their bacta- and create a medical revolution in the process. Glitterstim is a bad idea to snort, but the trace amounts in the “Candy Cane” strain heal nerve damage! "Pineapple express" is a strain that essentially acts as a topical PTSD treatment  "Beskar Berserker" is a strain that has some pretty awesome painkiller/amphetamine combo, and while it was meant to keep people from coding, it becomes REALLY popular with former ARC troopers.

Hera gets Kanan a strain called “second sight” after he loses his eyes.  She did it because it was supposed to be good for treating optic injuries and numbing visual hallucinations… they find out later it’s basically bacta + Midichlorian chow.

Anyway, this was a fun thought, please feel free to play with it if you want and tell me all about it

Awesome! Disney World Is Opening A Brand-New Park For People Who Liked Disney Movies As A Kid But Have A Healthy Sense Of Detachment About The Whole Thing Now

We all loved Disney as kids, but it can be hard to get your Disney fix as an adult if you aren’t one of those people who goes apeshit for anything that has to do with Disney. Well, if that’s you, here’s some good news: Disney World is opening a brand-new park for people who liked Disney movies as a kid but have a healthy sense of detachment about the whole thing now.

Yes!!!

The park features several Disney-themed rides such as The Witch’s Forest, Jafar’s Revenge, and The Hercules along with ones like The Rattlesnake and Galaxy Spinner that are in no way affiliated with any Disney properties but nonetheless provide a thrilling experience for adults who don’t need everything to be about Disney.

Yup. Anyone who remembers watching The Jungle Book at a friend’s house in first grade will love the Mowgli-shaped pesto pasta at the park’s restaurant, while anyone else can choose from a delicious array of salads that have nothing to do with cartoons. If you still need a break from Disney stuff after lunch, the park even has three fully functioning coffee shops with Wi-Fi where park-goers can catch up on work emails and personal calls.

Awesome! This is a godsend for people who enjoyed Disney movies back in the day but now lead full, rich, grown-up lives!

According to planners, the park also includes a museum about the history of film in general that barely even mentions Disney, for people who just want to forget about animated movies for an hour or two and consider the genre in a wider context. Museum guests will get to see never-before-seen interview footage of Stanley Kubrick in an exhibit on Dr. Strangelove, then decide for themselves if they want to go get Mickey Mouse’s autograph or just call it a day.

Okay, can someone please just buy us tickets to this place right now? It sounds like the perfect place for anyone who remembers that The Aristocats is about cats, but can’t recall much else. We can’t wait. Way to go, Disney!!!

Nevertheless, they are often able to amass the power to succeed. They can be visionary, idealistic and willing the risk.

8w9 (Boss): known as self-confident and assertive, they are drawn to the leadership roles, whether in organizations or relationships personal. 9w8 (Mediator): they have strong egos, but also the tendency of winning with the cooperation of others. Their good-natured, agreeable manner inspires trust. They are natural leaders who have the ability to smooth over differences and organize groups toward a common goal.

anonymous asked:

In your experience, is there a good check list of tasks one could employ to aid in the homebrew creation process? I'm running a one-shot in November that's set in an original world of mine and I'm having a hard time figuring out where to start with it. Thanks for the help!

I suppose you want help with your homebrew world?

Who live in your world? There are a few things you’d like to think of. First off, who inhabit your world and how rare are the races, where do they live? It could be the regular Humans are most common, dwarves and elves are a bit less common. The rest is fairly rare. But in your world Dwarves and gnomes could live together in one country while humans live in another and elves are elusive people who are only spoken of in legends. You can also add a race of your own but in that case you’ve got to think of if there is need to create a whole new race and what aspect they’d fit and maybe you can just reskin an existing race.

How do races/countries interact? Think of relations between races/countries, or at least the country your campaign is set in and some adjecent countries. Like if there’s a good relationship with the neighbours or if they’re at war, maybe just strained? Who knows. You really only need to work it out well if it’s of importance to the story. Otherwise it just helps with an overal idea of how people in your campaign would react to people of different countries.

How common is magic? Third think of the place of magic in your world. Is it outlawed in your country or are mages seen as natural born leaders? Maybe in your world there are no gods anymore so there are no clerics or paladins. Maybe it’s the other way around magic doesn’t exist or is banned unless it’s from a divine source. These type of things can result in some great roleplaying opportunities or character builds. Could also be that in a neighbouring country of humans and halflings magic is outlawed this could prompt spellcasters to move to another country causing it to have a lot of spellcasters so magic is commonplace there while it is outlawed in the country adjecent to it.

What era is it in? Timewise most people go for a setting in the dark ages but you could also have it set in other ages such as the roman ages, ancient egypt, ancient middle east or mesopotania, ancient china or the renaissance. If your world is more modern there are some rules for that on page 267 and onwards in the Dungeon Master’s Guide.

What world shaking event is there? Think of something important that has happened, the DMG calls this a ‘world shaking event’. This tells you what people are occupied with, usually higher ups that is. Farmers and commonfolk probably don’t care much about political things or monuments unless it’s close to them. Examples of such things could be the rise or fall of a leader, a disaster, an invasion or rebellion, the loss or discovery of something. You name it. This thing you choose can affect the whole country or it could just be small scale and affect a city or village. The Dungeon Master’s Guide has a lot of suggestions starting page 27.

What’s up with your gods? Gods are a kind of necessity since cleric and paladin magic is based on gods. If you create a pantheon try to have gods that fill all the cleric domains, this can be 8 or more but it could also be just one or a few. Also think of how religions in your world interact. Maybe there is only one religion and all the others have been wiped out except for a few small ones. Maybe there are full on holy wars between two dominant religions which is tearing your country apart. Maybe a new one is on the rise, maybe religions are disappearing. You decide.

Somebody once asked me, a little horrified I think, “Wait - what are the bad parts of being neurotypical??”

I’d made an offhand comment about how being autistic has good and bad parts, just like being neurotypical has good and bad parts.

I think one the bad parts of being neurotypical is that you don’t get so many of the amazing parts of being, for example, autistic.

Neurotypical people can fidget, for instance, but they can’t ever know how good it feels to have your body just flow into a stim, to feel your thoughts start lining up or your body get comfortable when you stim the way you need to. Autistic people (and some others!) have this amazing experience where our bodies find motions that express and comfort and regulate in ways that neurotypical people can never fully understand.

And neurotypical people can enjoy sensory experiences, but to be autistic is to have a unique relationship with sensory input. So much of our sensory experiences are amplified compared to those of NTs , and while that can and does cause overload etc. sometimes… when the input is good? It’s glorious. Good fabrics and good sounds and good smells and good tastes and textures - we get to feel them all more intensely.

And echolalia! Echolalia is so good and so enjoyable and neurotypical people, I think, get only the barest shadow of what it’s like.

NTs can have hobbies and passions and callings, but they can’t ever, ever know the pure and consuming joy that is a special interest.

There are good and bad parts to being autistic. Neurotypicals, you’re going to have to accept that, and along with it the concept that autistic people have good experiences that you, by virtue of being neurotypical, simply cannot have.

You don’t see yourself as an object of pity because you lack those experiences, do you? You aren’t going to pour millions into research to have brains like ours, are you? I mean, even if you could do it, you wouldn’t be you anymore. And the way your brain works is just fine for you, you don’t mind not having good autistic experiences because you have your own!

Well - same. I don’t want to be neurotypical. Being autistic is an integral part of my personality, and I wouldn’t give up my good autistic experiences for a shot at your neurotypical ones in a million years. What I want is to be accepted for who I am as an autistic person, for people to respect and accommodate my needs the way the world respects and accommodates your needs as a neurotypical person.

Fallout 4's missed opportunity to explain everything about vaults:

MIT’s role in the creation of vault experiments

I am here to propose an idea. Obviously, this can’t exactly be considered canon, since Fallout 4, as stated in the title, did not go in this direction with its lore, yet the game gives us the perfect opportunity to explain all the sinister stuff that has been going on in vaults all over America.

“What was it all for?” is a question anyone who has played any Fallout game must have asked themselves at some point. As I am writing this, people are posting their vault ideas for this year’s Fallout Week. But hey. What was it all for? Why did they do it? The way vaults are presented in the game, it seems like Vault-tec. just consisted of a group of psychopaths with too much free time on their hands. But. Consider this:

  • Vault-tec. is just a cover
  • vaults were part of the Enclave’s plan to create the perfect human being
  • the residents of the vaults were never meant to survive
  • the MIT formed the scientific core of the organization and continued to work on the plan after the Great War, which eventually led to the creation of synths and the goal to “redefine humanity”

Before Fallout 4 came out, I was reading up lore, trying to piece together some information. I stumbled upon an article about Vault 0 – the vault that is supposed to harbor the brightest minds and the most influential politicians of pre-war America. Vault 0 was built as a command center, it was designed to connect all the vaults together and when the right time came, it was supposed to activate the Exodus Protocol that would help to reunite the vaults. Vault 0 was run by a supercomputer. The brains of the residents were put into cryogenic stasis and linked to the supercomputer. When I read it, I thought that Bethesda took the idea from Fallout Tactics and developed it further in their own game. I mean, the parallels are a bit staggering. Cryogenic stasis, artificial intelligence, the brightest minds of the Old World – those are all details that were used to create Fallout 4’s world.

We know that the Overseers were collecting data. We also know that they were sending it… somewhere? We have never been told where this data went, we have no idea who the Overseers communicated with. The obvious answer is – with Vault-tec. But let’s be real – What is Vault-tec. even?

How was it created? Who is working for it? There are supposed to be researchers working for it, but Vault-tec. isn’t an institute, and it’s a young organization, so they must have employed researchers from well-known universities. We know that the Enclave was behind the creation of the vaults – but even they must have had a plan when they built them.

One thing about the Enclave: they were obsessed with the idea of making the perfect human being. This is why the FEV virus was created. Officially, it was the work of West Tek, but this company was a private contractor of the U.S. government that was also responsible for the creation of the power armor, as well as laser and plasma weapons. The FEV virus was supposed to turn normal humans into superhumans, who would be stronger, faster, unaffected by diseases and radiation. This, obviously, didn’t exactly turn out well, but it exemplifies the Enclave’s goals quite well.

Now, don’t you find it suspicious that the Institute’s motto is “Humanity, redefined”?

The Institute is so obsessed with creating the perfect synthetic being. They spent two centuries working on this project, pouring almost all their resources into it. WHY? Why were they so obsessed with it? They researched this with an almost religious dedication. Even after decades and centuries of failed experimenting, they were unable to give up, to change directions. No, they stubbornly held onto this idea. Why was it so important to them?

As I mentioned earlier, Vault-tec. needed researchers to build the vaults and plan the experiments. Enclave researchers worked for Vault-tec., you could say – but the Enclave was a shadow government, and not a scientific facility. They as well had to find researchers to work for them. They had plans, visions and ideas, but they needed educated people to make these ideas come to life. They most probably looked for people all over America, and given the state of people’s minds at the end of the Old World, there were probably more than enough who were more than happy to create vault experiments like the ones we see in the games.

Now, where do we have a lot of bright scientists? The MIT.

The Institute wanted to recreate a human being. To do that, you need a good idea of how humans work – both body and mind. And this is what explains the social and biological experiments in the vaults. This explains the need for data collection. The vault experiments put human subject in extreme situations to strain the body and the mind, so that the researchers could a) learn how exactly humans work and b) advance the artificial humans.

The residents of the vaults were never meant to survive. The researchers just wanted to see how far the human body and mind can be pushed.

The collected data were likely used in the research on the synthetic humans.

This is why the vaults are the way they are.

We also have to consider how exactly the whole system worked. We have the Enclave, West Tek, Vault-tec. and the MIT, as well researchers from other institutes (most probably). ALL of them are part of this. The Enclave is behind everything, but the one who we constantly think and talk about when we discuss vaults is Vault-tec. Because Vault-tec. is just a cover, a farce, an empty name – something that has been created to hide the truth behind layers and layers of lies. Researchers from the MIT are the actual Vault-tec. but this cannot be known, and their plans must be hidden from the public – hence, this fake organization and its mascot. Researchers from the MIT, again, are working for the Enclave, who is working with West Tek. This cannot be known either. In fact, the most important thing is probably to hide the involvement of the Enclave and of West Tek. West Tek is such a shady organization, I think I may even lack the ability to describe just how shady I find it. West Tek played a huge role in creating the Fallout universe as we know it, and yet we know virtually nothing about them. NOTHING. They worked on the FEV virus, called themselves “private contractors” even though they are most obviously just part of the shadow government, doing whatever the Enclave deems right. They were there every step of the way while the world got closer and closer to total nuclear annihilation. And yet they remained unseen. What do we see instead? The flashy, funny, noisy Vault-tec.

It is a complex system where one thing covers the other thing, and where this other thing is, again, covered by something else.

It’s best described by this image.

The Enclave is the one pulling the strings, controlling the situation. It must be protected from the public backlash, if someone ever found out what they were planning. The stick of the umbrella is West Tek. Having some fabric over your head is nice but without something holding it it’s useless. MIT and other researchers are part of the core that holds the umbrella, and they also need protection from the storm, which is also why they are under the umbrella. Finally, Vault-tec. is what draws the attention towards itself and away from the other players.

The Institute, were Bethesda to write it with this in mind, should be an analogue of Fallout Tactics’ Vault 0. It makes sense to assume that the MIT was turned into a Vault after the bombs dropped, or that they prepared for the nuclear war and built a vault (they were doing it all over America, for heaven’s sake) for themselves – and for all the other people mentioned above. For the Enclave politicians. For the West Tek researchers. For everyone who participated in this grand plan.

Think about it. First of all, the Institute, as is, already resembles a typical vault in many aspects. They have a Director (instead of an Overseer), a dress code, food supplements, no democracy whatsoever, you cannot choose whatever job you like, you cannot leave, you have to be obedient… the list goes on. Additionally, this theory finally explains why the Institute has FEV samples. If the MIT was working with the Enclave and West Tek, who created the FEV strain, it makes absolute sense for them to have it.

If all these people ended up living in one vault, it also explains why the Institute was so obsessed with one single idea for several centuries.

It also makes sence to establish such a base in close proximity to the capital, as opposed to the original Vault 0 that is located in Colorado. Washingto D.C. wasn’t a good place to stay in in case of a nuclear war, since it’s a capital, but you can evacuate relatively fast to Boston if you have vertibirds.

Take it as you will. For me, this is the biggest missed opportunity of the whole Fallout franchize. Fallout 4 had the chance to explain everything. And it didn’t.

Still, I believe that the things I talked about - the scheme - are true. It’s just that we will never see it implemented in a game.

@red-king-4 here is your answer!

Also, this post is accompanying this art I have made for the Fallout Week!

anonymous asked:

how do you justify that nesta is not evil?

Because she’s not. Plain and simple. Nesta is many things but evil she is not. Frankly, as a character, Nesta is one of the most realistic. She is deeply flawed, shaped by circumstance, environment and privilege. Often, she is criticised for traits male characters are loved for. Rhysand’s unbridled, devastating rage, Cassian’s arrogance, Azriel’s cold and often emotionless nature. Even Manon Blackbeak carries several similar features as Nesta Archeron and yet the Witch is beloved and pardoned a lot more than Nesta.

Yes, Nesta sent Feyre to hunt. She let her baby sister go into the forest and she admitted that she let that happen. That it was either starve or let Feyre go because she knew that she couldn’t do it. Neither could Elain. She also was the only one to go after Feyre. Even after the glamours disappeared, Nesta sent Feyre away to be happy because she knew that Feyre was never meant for the life she had in the mortal realm. Nesta was born and raised in money, wealth, privilege. She was shaped by a mother who preferred parties over her children. The life Nesta grew up in is massively different from the life Feyre developed in. And that makes them all the more different. Let’s not forget Elain too is guilty of the same sins as Nesta.

Yet the Nesta from the first book has grown, developed. She is a real person who feels fear, guilt, shame. The woman is terrified of taking a bath. She was willing to die with Cassian on the battlefield. Nesta is prideful and selfish, she is unapologetic and angry. Yet Feyre said herself that for those who Nesta loves she would tear the world apart for. Look at Amarantha. Look at Hybern. The Attor. Even Tamlin. The Mortal Queens. Those who are truly vile and evil. The villains in the narrative. I’m not saying Nesta doesn’t have her moments where she is horrible and cruel. But she is also so well developed. Such a beautiful and complex character.

To summarise my exhausted rambling, the fandom needs to stop giving shit to female characters when they worship males for the same traits and arcs. Sometimes characters aren’t wholly good or bad. They are good people who do bad things, make bad choices, have bad traits. But guess what? So do real people. Nesta is not evil. She is not a villain. And people need to have more appreciation for amazing and interesting characters.

There are some bad parts about being borderline, but there are also some perks!

- The way you make people feel when you idealize them is something they’ll never find in anyone else. You make people feel so cared for and loved, and on top of the world. There’s a reason people are so drawn to those with BPD

- The amount of love you are able to give another person is unreal

- You’re able to sense immediately if something is off or wrong with another person. And therefore can react to make them happy quickly or be there for comfort.

- You work well with children and are able to empathize with them when they are hurt. You’re not one of those adults who treat children as if they need to suppress or suck up their emotions.

- When you do feel empathy (because it’s something I occasionally struggle with), you can genuinely empathize with others and truly make them feel like you understand and you’re listening.

- The love you feel for your friends can border on obsession, but they will ALWAYS know you care about them.

- When you are happy, you’re on top of the world! It’s such an amazing and euphoric feeling!

- When you find something you like, and hyper fixate on, just thinking about it can brighten your day! Which is so simple and great, that you don’t have to go to extra lengths to feel happiness from it

I’m sure there are so many more! Please feel free to add on!!

(Also, just because somethings aren’t necessarily healthy or considered healthy in society doesn’t mean they can’t be good things! Me being obsessed with the person I like isn’t healthy, but it can be a good thing if that means it makes another person feel special and happy!)

Legit Worldbuilding Tip #2

or - “Why Economics is Important”

So, let’s talk about economics.

I can hear you groaning back there. Hold on and hear me out.

When you’re creating a fantasy world or a sci-fi world, many things define cultures. One of the most important for a lot of writers is religion, with politics being secondary in a lot of cases.

But how often, when trying to create a unique world for your characters, do you stop and think about how money works for them? Or if they use money at all?

Let me pause right here and give you the dictionary definition of economics. That might help you understand exactly what I’m talking about -

ec·o·nom·icsˌ

ekəˈnämiks,ˌēkəˈnämiks/

noun

  1. 1.the branch of knowledge concerned with the production, consumption, and transfer of wealth.

It’s not just a “money” thing. Economics is all about how things move in a society - where things come from, who produces those things, and - most importantly for worldbuilding - how the people in a community are affected by that system.

A lot of writers will just look at our world and transfer that model directly into the world they’re writing about. There are rich people who have money, and poor people who don’t. In science fiction novels, people might exchange credits for the things they need. In fantasy, characters hand over gold coins without the writer giving it a second thought.

So What’s the Issue?

Well, the issue is this - different economic systems work (arguably) for different worlds. You can see that in our current society. Different countries function better with different economic landscapes. That’s been true through history, too, and economics have changed with the times.

But… I Don’t Know Anything About Economics

Nobody is asking you to write a giant manifesto about the next great economical system. Nor do you need to describe the details of your world’s economics in your story. Your characters likely don’t know everything about how their economics work, and your reader probably won’t care.

But. But. Little details here and there can help enhance a world and show how it’s different from ours. Little economic details can help you better understand how your world actually functions. They can better explain things about your characters and the lives they’ve lead up to that point.

Case in point. In the Dragon Age series of games, there is a magical substance known as lyrium, which is important to both mages and soldiers known as Templars (who use the substance to increase their power).

Because lyrium affects most individuals, but not dwarves in this world, dwarves have developed an entire society centered on mining and distributing lyrium to the other races. Dwarves are merchants primarily. There is also a large dwarven crime syndicate that smuggles lyrium illegally. In essence, the importance of lyrium has led to a lyrium-based economics system for the dwarves in this world.

So What Things Should I Be Thinking About?

The biggest thing to consider is what “wealth” means in the world you’ve created. First and foremost, where does most wealth come from?

Let’s look for a moment at our history. In one example,lLandowners with a lot of good, workable property became rich usually because of taxes. They took money from other (poorer) people in exchange for a place to live, as well as protection. Those landowners became the “lords” and “kings” of the places and peoples they swore their protection to in exchange for money, goods, and services.

This is the basis of most fantasy fiction. There are also many ways this system could be exploited in a fantasy world.

Here’s a hypothetical. In a high fantasy world, only a certain type of person is able to fight and kill demons that appeared a few centuries earlier. Most people would be dead if left to their own devices.

But, these Demon Fighters realized they could exploit their abilities. They offered to protect the common folk in exchange for what the people could provide them. So, in time, the Demon Fighters became the ruling class.

But even among the Demon Fighters there is a class system. Not every Demon Fighter has the same abilities. Some individuals are more suited to combat, being able to take down demons by force. Others have the ability to control demons. In time, the combat-able Demon Fighters become soldiers and those with the ability to control demons become Nobles, most of whom have demon servants and bodyguards.

Let’s Talk About Surplus and Scarcity

In most societies, economics are centered on two principles.

The first is surplus. Having a surplus means having more than is needed of something. The other is scarcity. You can guess what this is. The more scarce something is (i.e. the less of something there is) the more valuable it becomes.

The more food that is available, the less difficult it becomes to acquire food. It can be freely traded, whether for other items/services of equal value or for money (or whatever symbolic exchange product a society uses, like “credits” in a sci-fi world). If there’s not a lot of food to go around, it becomes more difficult to acquire food.

The person who has a lot of a needed thing holds power over those who don’t have that thing. In the Dragon Age example, even though dwarves aren’t human they aren’t treated as poorly as elves, another race that exists within that world. People rely on dwarves for lyrium, which gives them power, which means that even if they aren’t human they are important enough to humans to be treated more “equally” than elves.

What if Nothing is Scarce in My World?

For a while now, people have talked about the possibility of a post-scarcity economy. I’ll just leave this here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-scarcity_economy

Post-scarcity economies are often found in science fiction that idealizes the future. Often these societies have a lack of a power structure. If anybody can go out and get what they want or need at any given time, then it’s hard for any one group to hold sway over the rest.

Sometimes, companies today will create false scarcity by destroying goods and forcing the prices of those goods to be higher than it should be. This has happened in the dairy industry, with tons of milk being disposed of because dairy farmers want to protect their livelihood.

I will say that I am NOT an economics expert, by any means. Nor do you have to be to think about it when writing fiction.

Just be aware of the power structures that exist because of economics, and how this will likely play a role in the world you’ve built. Think of ways to play around with the power structures. Think of how your idea of space travel or demons or whatever will affect your world’s power structures.

All this can lead to a lot of interesting dynamics in your world that can help set it apart from the rest.
