I just think it would be wonderful to meet new people. I’m studying at Uni, volunteering with batyr on campus, and my goal in life is to help people. ♡ I love music, movies and anime of so many kinds and I’d love to trade suggestions with people! And animals. Mostly dogs and snakes, but animals are my weak spot.

Preferences: I’d rather email/social media as postage can get expensive but other than that, anyone is free to email me!

(Ascendant/Rising Sign!)

Aries Rising: Your confidence radiates onto everyone around you and you brighten every room with your fun-loving outlook on life. We can tell you know exactly what you want and can do anything you set your mind to, and it motivates us all to follow in your footsteps. You’re everyone’s motivation to try harder and make stuff happen! Independent, smart, popular and optimistic - what’s not to love about an Aries Rising?

Taurus Rising: How do you stay so level headed at all times? We wish we had the ability to stop, think and come up with a great solution to anything like you can. You’re some of the funniest people ever; you can make anyone laugh with just a look! You blitz through tasks so quickly - how do you make everything look so easy? We’re never be bored when we’re with you. Hilarious, talkative, intelligent and free - what’s not to love about a Gemini Rising?

Cancer Rising: Your gentle soul is so inviting to those around you. You make us feel as though we’re old friends! Quietly, you watch us all and learn from our mistakes rather than your own, which is a quality we’d love to have. You’re enchanting and reserved yet somehow you’re so reassuring and soothing to be around; a silent supporter. Without fail, you know exactly what will make us feel better when we’re down. The person we all come to for advice or help and so smart as well! Some of the kindest people to ever walk this planet. It’s a blessing to even be acquainted with you, especially with the way you shine so brightly. Not only are you the most alluring, but you’re some of the strongest people in the world! You bulldoze anyone in your way with such agility and poise; it’s as if you barely noticed anything happened. In moments when most would break down and give up, you take charge and know exactly what to do! Passionate and always reliable, you are so uplifting to be around! Practical, skillful, humble and caring - what’s not to love about a Virgo Rising?

Libra Rising: You’re some of the most beautiful people we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. The way you are able to be so graceful and perfect in the way you blitz through life is unreal. Capricorn Rising: Your maturity and wisdom is so captivating to everyone around you, it’s as if you know everything without trying. Unconventionally mysterious, you draw others in by looking as though you’re unfazed by whatever is happening around you. We want to see what’s behind your eyes and how you’re just so darn cool. Watching you really let loose is something that we aspire to witness because it doesn’t happen often but when it does, it’s something you don’t want to miss. You’re able to help us put things in perspective which is why we always come to you for help, especially when we’re confused. Your the one voted most competent and you always come through too. Successful, respectful, rational and fun - what’s not to love about a Capricorn Rising?

Aquarius Rising: You work so well with large groups of people and easily accept everyone around you as individuals and equals. You’re the outsider, but the way you waltz through life makes us want to join you on the outside. You can make literally anything work to your advantage in a way that we can’t help but respect and aspire towards. An advocate for the underdog, we know when the going gets tough, you get going! We all need someone to help us think differently to the rest and you’re the perfect person for the job. You’re curious and interested in others which makes you seem like the social butterfly we all want to tell our life story to. Idealistic, endearing, tolerant and logical - what’s not to love about an Aquarius Rising?

Pisces Rising: Your dreamy, far off gaze makes us wonder what you’re thinking and seeing around you. You so easily adapt to different people, it seems as if you can change your whole personality for each person you come across; a social chameleon. This, of course, means people can’t help but love you and they flock towards your open heart. Some of the most compassionate people we know, you’re always helping other people or animals. We know you’re living in your own little world and we wish you’d show us around; I’m sure it’s beautiful. Your ability to just let things go and move on is admirable to those of us who struggle with forgiveness. Empathetic, open, intuitive and generous - what’s not to love about a Pisces Rising?

Name: Emma
Age: 21
Country: United Kingdom

Hello my name is Emma. I have always lived in the United Kingdom and am a university student, just finishing 2nd year. I am studying Special Educational Need and Inclusion. I have always loved helping other people, ever since a young age. Ideally when I have finished education I would like to work with individuals with disabilities and difficulties.
I have co-morbid disabilities myself, but I don’t want this to stop other people from approaching and talking to me, I’m still a person with my own personality! I don’t let my difficulties stop me from doing want I want to in life.
I am open to speaking about anything and everything, long or short messages. I am very open minded.
I listen to all types of music and watch all types of films. I have interest in hedgehogs (or animals in general), being spiritual, crystals, photography, going out for walks.
Unfortunately I can only speak English, however, I am more than happy to speak to others where English is not their first language. I am currently completing my level 1 in British Sign Language, so I am happy to do video calls with other BSL users, to help develop my skills and get to know new people.
I can find it difficult to approach people, but have no problem with people approaching me, so I would love to build new friendships!

Preferences: I have no preference on race/gender/sexual orientation/ disabled or non-disabled etc. I am happy to speak to anyone. My only preference is being 18+. I am happy to use skype, video calls, emails etc

Worshipping Aphrodite When You Don’t Love Yourself

Anonymous asked I would like to devote myself to Aphrodite, but I suffer from depression/anxiety (diagnosed) and (currently undiagnosed) anorexia. A lot of the Aphrodite stuff centres around self love and honestly I lack that. It scares me to “love myself” because I feel like it’ll lead to me getting fatter. What should I do?

I’m putting my answer under the cut because it’s long and briefly mentions things that might be triggering, but as a general outline of what I’ve written:

  • A brief disclaimer about ED for clarity for those who haven’t experienced it for themselves.
  • Why not loving yourself is okay.
  • A little bit about Aphrodite and some lesser known aspects of her being.
  • How you can worship her in ways completely unrelated to love/self esteem.

Wonder Woman Movie Thoughts: Charlie the Scottish Sharpshooter

Wonder Woman is a warm person who won’t leave you out. Even if it’s a dangerous war mission, she won’t turn you away. She’ll make you feel like you belong. She’ll be that friend who thinks to invite you when no one else did, because she doesn’t want you to feel left out.

Anyone else (*cough* Batman) would only care if you’re useful to the mission. He totally would have kicked Charlie off the team and probably make him feel bad about it. Wonder Woman is special. She gets the emotional help people (and animals!) need. She doesn’t just save lives in the life-or-death kind of way. She saves lives in the making-life-better kind of way. If you have PTSD and can’t shoot during a war, Wonder Woman knows the value of being inclusive. She’ll be the caring friend you need no matter who you are.

Being part of community and feeling included is a simple idea, but there are so many ways it’s an issue in the real world. Not everyone in society is included. Not everyone who has a mental illness is treated like a human being. Being a friend to someone who feels left out or alone in anyway is heroic. It’s a simple message but it’s powerful and overlooked like so many great teachings in the Wonder Woman movie. Wonder Wonder isn’t high above in the clouds or hiding in the shadows. She’s on the ground compassionately helping people.

Big Lessons From Finding Dory

So I saw Finding Dory tonight and let me just highlight a few things that are very important that were shown in the movie but may have gone over other’s heads (none of these are spoilers, really but im tagging them anyways):

1. Not all marine life institutions are like SeaWorld. This film demonstrates there are a lot of really helpful marine life institutions out there who are dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals. It takes place in California and although they never directly call it the Monterey Bay Aquarium you can tell that is what it is based off of. Many aquariums like the one in Monterey and a local aquarium by me are completely dedicated to the rehabilitation of marine life/mammals and yes, they tag some animals, but it is just to track their migration patterns and conduct research. SeaWorld has given such a bad name to other marine life centers out there and to be honest, these centers are the kind of organizations we need to preserve our marine life. Most operate on a vast network of volunteers and they could really use your donations–especially when it is apparent that our government does not care about our waters to make any laws protecting it.

2. PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE FINAL SCENE. (The one where Dory says the view before her is “unforgettable”). If you’ve seen the movie, you might have noticed something….well missing. In fact, a lot was missing. Much of the coral reef in this scene as they pan out has become discolored and is dead. Pixar clearly wanted to draw your eye to this scene. Our coral reefs are dramatically dying and if we don’t stop to care for them now, they can be gone easily in a lifetime–as little as 15 years. Those beautiful views will become forgettable if we do not do something about them now. Back when Finding Nemo came out 12 years ago, scientists were just starting to notice the dramatic changes in iur coral reefs. Now if you see recent pictures of the Sydney Harbor, the same one featured in FN, most of those beautiful colorful corl reefs are dead and gone. Although Finding Dory is supposed to take place one year after Finding Nemo, Pixar was really trying to bring that important message out.

So please, keep in mind as you spend money towards a movie ticket, maybe next time use that money and donate to ocean conservation funds. We really do only get one world, and she takes care of us so we should take care of her.

GROUND BREAKING Broad Study Proves Low Fat WFPB Diet is the best for weight loss & Health.

Published in the highly esteemed Journal of Nutrition & Diabetes, the Broad Study is the first ever comprehensive review of a low fat whole food plant based diet & the results VERIFY diets like WSLF & Starch Solution are THE BEST IN RECORDED HISTORY FOR WEIGHT LOSS / BMI / HEART / DIABETES & MORE.

http://www.nature.com/nutd/journal/v7/n3/full/nutd20173a.html

The BROAD study: A randomised controlled trial using a whole food plant-based diet in the community for obesity, ischaemic heart disease or diabetes

Conclusions:

This programme led to significant improvements in BMI, cholesterol and other risk factors. To the best of our knowledge, this research has achieved greater weight loss at 6 and 12 months than any other trial that does not limit energy intake or mandate regular exercise.

!!!!!!NO CALORIE LIMIT & NO EXERCISE JUST LIKE WSLF!!!!! & RECORD BREAKING WEIGHT LOSS.  BTFO Restricter Cal-in Cal-out debunked blood letters.

“The whole food plant-based (WFPB) diet is high in micronutrient density and the most frequently researched iterations are low in fat, which comprises approximately 7–15% of total energy.”

All my high fat zombies, trolls and haters who smear me in other slander hosting Youtuber’s & Instagrammers comment sections to spread your ill health and disease message please do me a favor and find your delete button & make up for your hater lives and actually feel what it feels like to help people and animals by getting a vegan message out there that everyone can benefit from, especially the poor, who were the focus of this study.

The intervention involved patients from a group general practice in Gisborne, the region with New Zealand’s highest rates of socioeconomic deprivation, obesity and type 2 diabetes.

This diet helps the poorest & sickest people.  Shame on anyone who subverts this message, totally despicable.  Spiking my potato and doing my victory dance!  WORLD CHANGING RESEARCH!

A little more insight for those in disbelief;

We placed no restriction on total energy intake. Participants were asked to not count calories. We provided a ‘traffic-light’ diet chart to participants outlining which foods to consume, limit or avoid (Supplementary Table S1). We encouraged starches such as potatoes, sweet potato, bread, cereals and pasta to satisfy the appetite. Participants were asked to avoid refined oils (e.g. olive or coconut oil) and animal products (meat, fish, eggs and dairy products). We discouraged high-fat plant foods such as nuts and avocados, and highly processed foods. We encouraged participants to minimise sugar, salt and caffeinated beverages. We provided 50 μg daily vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) supplements.

THIS IS EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE

Minor changes to trial design

At the 6-month end point, we observed significant differences between the intervention and control groups, and we offered the intervention to the control group. Ethics approval was obtained to extend follow-up to 3 years total, and the protocol was updated.

Basically means at the 6 month mark they could not ethically not offer the control group the amazing benefits of the low fat WFPB diet!

Not only that they measured Quality of Life, Self Esteem & Mental Variables, Food Enjoyment, cost of food & more!  Each was improved on the diet!

Adherence was high & those keeping a food journal did the best;

Multiple intervention participants stated ‘not being hungry’ was important in enabling adherence. Intervention participants were highly adherent with the dietary changes, although this decreased with time. Diet at 3 months correlated with weight loss at 12 months, but starting diet did not. These findings suggest an audited diet diary may be useful to predict success with a WFPB diet, and that those starting from a typical Western diet could expect similar results.

The key difference between this trial and other approaches to weight loss was that participants were informed to eat the WFPB diet ad libitum and to focus efforts on diet, rather than increasing exercise.

Many patients are interested in making dietary changes, and the WFPB diet can be offered as a safe and effective option for losing weight and obtaining some reduction in cholesterol, without necessarily increasing exercise. The main advantage is in eating to satiation without restricting the amount of food eaten.

THANK YOU NEW ZEALAND & everyone there who took park in this study!!!

Strengths of this research include randomisation, and the ‘real world’ nature of the programme, which involved community-dwelling adults who were provided skills and education but were responsible for their own food choices.

Well this is pretty much the best thing I have ever read.

cathaterdoggolover  asked:

what's a good way to not be depressed?

A combination of good CBT therapy, checking in with a psychiatrist to at least consider whether medication is necessary, being open and honest with the people who love you about what you’re going through, going on walks or making sure your body gets some activity, practicing mindfulness, volunteering for an organization that helps people or animals that are in tough spots.

For all you gamers following me, if you have not yet played this little game called “Okami”… it’s a good idea. Especially if you’re a Deanist, but I feel like anyone can appreciate the beauty and heart-healthiness of this game, because you play as the Shinto sun god Amaterasu. You also go around dispelling  curses, reviving nature, and helping people, animals, and spirits through a divine art form known as the “Celestial Brush”.

Not only does it provide a cool, refurbished insight into Japanese mythology, and not only is it a pleasant and soothing game to play, but it’s visually stunning as well, done in sumi-e style (I believe that’s what it’s called) and with bright colors and gorgeous designs. It really speaks to my spirit, personally, but it’s such a pure and lovely game that I feel like nobody can possibly play it and come away poorer. Give it a looksee if you’re a gamer!

🌷~The Forest Witch~🌷

•The forest witch roams around the forest she lives in, picking flowers and herbs for later rituals or potions. She lives in a small stone cottage covered in moss and scrawlings, she uses an old large tree trump as an alter. Right at sunset, when the sun lays it’s orange light on the forest ground, she lays in the grass and asks Mother Nature to help her heal the trees and plants that have fallen. Her book of shadows is mostly filled with information about herbs and how she can use them to help people or animals. She has a great liking for animal companions, she’s kind to every single person or thing she meets. She wears flower crowns using only the freshest of flowers she has in her basket, she wears a long white gown that travels to the ground always making the bottom of the dress dirty but she didn’t mind. She always has a smile on her face and a bright light in her heart.

{Would anyone be interested if I started answering art asks in addition to rp asks on my hunter blog?}
