Wouldn’t be fair not to congratulate this guy for the amazing display of surfing during the Rip Curl Pro Portugal.

Conner, I’m so stoked you, not only because you surfed so incredibly well, but also because you achieved the best result of your career, so far, in my home country (and requalified!).

I can’t wait for Hawaii!!! Yeeww!

#32 | Freddy Patacchia Jr.

It’s the end of Freddy’s career, and what a career he had! Massive respect for this gentleman and his accomplishments. Here he is in Portugal about to get tubed. I never had the opportunity to meet Freddy but I still hope I do. Such an iconic man.

Wishing Freddy the best in this new stage of his life! Legend! Thank you, Freddy!

#2 - Mick Fanning

Mr.Consistent almost had it. After Medina and Slater’s loss in round 3 at Supertubos, Fanno capitalized in the best way possible by winning the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal and gaining ground in his world title campaign. However, Mick saw his dream crushed in round 5 at Pipeline after losing to Alejo Muniz.

We all know Mick dominates the sport, has been doing it for quite a while. I cannot wait for 2015 to see what he’ll pull out of the hat.

Incredibly proud of what this guy (and Vasco Ribeiro) did today. Fred Morais became the first portuguese surfer to advance through round 3 at Supertubos, defeating number 1 in the world, and his favorite surfer, Mick Fanning. He had done damage 2 years ago when he took out Mr. Kelly Slater in round 2 and here he is again putting the exclamation point on what Portugal has to offer.

It is great to see that hard work pays of and your dreams can come true. Hope to see our flag flying in the podium.
