Star Gazers

Characters: YiXing x You
Genre: Drabble, Romance, Angst

He gazed at stars all his life.

They were the last things he saw every night before he slept and the first things he woke up seeing.  For his ceilings lined with intricate paper stars hand folded and sew together with ribbon to mimic the constellations of Pegasus to Sagittarius.  Even as your little feet tapped along his polished floors you could feel the etched symbols and formulas stamp against your toes.

YiXing lost his father at the young age of two.  To pardon him of the pain, his mother used to tell him, “Papa will return home one day.  He’s just up in the galaxy now, earning money so he can buy our little XingXing a real unicorn.”  The two-year-old blinked, babbled, and chewed on his unicorn plushie’s single horn.

“Mama, when will Papa come see YiXing?” he asked when he was four.

“Soon.  If YiXing is a good boy, Papa will return sooner,” his mother coaxed and kissed the little boy’s forehead as tears welled in her eyes.

He had his father’s eyes.

“XingJai is really good.  Papa come home soon.  XingXing misses you,” an eight-year-old YiXing kneeled down in front of the windowsill and prayed while his mother pretended to be asleep.  Her tears drenched the pillow.

She told him when he was twelve.  With a box of old photos and a farewell letter written with his father’s dying breath of love, she sat her precious son down on the sofa.  But instead of crying or throwing a tantrum, YiXing simply nodded and warmed his mother in a tight hug.  She flinched, shocked by his calm reaction, for she was ready to console him and promise to give him anything he asked for, even if it was the moon or a star.  He asked her for a telescope.

“Papa, how are you up there?” his mother caught a sixteen-year-old YiXing asking as he stared into the telescope and jotted down numbers and letters regarding density statistics and physics she couldn’t understand.

You met him during his second year, in university, studying astrophysics - a classmate and, you thought at that time, a possible love interest.  Amidst his sweet serenades and his filial weekly video chats with his mother, you had fallen deeply in love with this man.

“Girlfriend?” his mother asked when you accidentally walked into his room while they were video chatting one day.

YiXing smiled and blessed you with a perfect view of his adorable dimples while you blushed and nervously denied.

“She’s my JiaoJiaoXing,” the handsome young man grinned and told his mother.  My Little Proud Star.  He spun you around in effortless circles and pulled you in to rest against his chest.  A little shy and a little confused, you could only muster his name through your tender lips as he stroked your hair out of your face.  You thought his glassy dark orbs twinkled brighter than any star.  As he leaned in, you naturally closed your eyes to allow the sensation of his lips massaging yours, with tender, love, and care, to seal your soul in the depths of his heart.

March 8, 2012 - you remembered it clear as day for he had asked you to meet him at a bridge five blocks from the campus.  But all that remained were the trampled up bouquet of roses, discarded along the pavement.  The card read, “My JiaoJiaoXing, will you be the star in my sky?”.

He disappeared for two whole months and eventually dropped out of the curriculum.

Stubborn and unwilling to lose him, you visited his hometown, in Changsha, as soon as the semester ended.

“Mama, Papa, how are you two doing up there?” you heard him whisper as you peered into his old apartment one day.

His mother passed away.  But he doesn’t cry.  Instead, you burst into tears and sobbed on his behalf as he pressed your head against his heart that forever had a missing piece that you could never fill.  You knew his mother meant everything to him; he often talked about bringing her to space or purchasing her a star in the sky.

Now she was one herself.

You weeded your slender arms around YiXing’s waist and braved your trembles to kiss him lightly against the cheek.  Brushing your bangs away from your doll-like face, he closed his watery orbs and pressed his lips against yours just like your first kiss.  Invisible stars were drawn onto your skin so that even when the blazing sun stole away the light in the stars, he could still see them through you.

But it scared you how he never cried and how he immediately returned back to university with you, without your need to coax him.  His favorite vintage telescope sat by the large windowsill of the small apartment the two of you shared.

“They’re together now,” YiXing answered your unasked question one day as you were cooking dinner.

“Hmm?” you questioned as you lowered the star-shaped cookie cutter onto the pan and dropped in an egg.

“Mama and Papa are together now…” his voice cracked for the first time ever.  Instantly, you spun around and caught the tears rushing down his eyes as he gazed into his telescope.  “Look, JiaoJiao,” your lover called you over.  Slipping your fingers through his, you curiously squinted your eyes and peered into the telescope.

Two stars glistened beside each other in the sky brighter than any other you had ever seen in your entire life.

“They…they are finally together…” YiXing repeated over and over again - each time his voice trembled more and more daringly as rivers morphed into oceans, streaming down his cheeks. You sighed in relief, nodded, and opened your arms for him to jump in.  “I tracked that star for years and years.  It was alone.  For years,” he sobbed into your chest.

“I know…” you sweetly replied and kissed his forehead.

“They’re finally together…”

“And so are we…” you replied as his moist lips automatically found yours.

A/N: This is originally from Personalized Mini Series.  Thought a few of them deserved their own post, especially since the some older scenarios links of my Tumblr aren’t working anymore…^-^ Remember, this is just a drabble so it’s not as detailed or edited as my normal scenarios.  Hope you guys still like it.

P.S. If you haven’t already, check out my newest scenario: Safe Haven

For the first time I can watch planets orbit another star. (129 light years away in constellation Pegasus)

Galaxies in Pegasus : This wide, sharp telescopic view reveals galaxies scattered beyond the stars and faint dust nebulae of the Milky Way at the northern boundary of the high-flying constellation Pegasus. Prominent at the upper right is NGC 7331. A mere 50 million light-years away, the large spiral is one of the brighter galaxies not included in Charles Messiers famous 18th century catalog. The disturbed looking group of galaxies at the lower left is well-known as Stephans Quintet. About 300 million light-years distant, the quintet dramatically illustrates a multiple galaxy collision, its powerful, ongoing interactions posed for a brief cosmic snapshot. On the sky, the quintet and NGC 7331 are separated by about half a degree. via NASA

PEGASUS is a white winged horse that sprang from the neck of the Gorgon Medusa when Perseus beheaded her.

When he was born, Pegasus flew to Mount Helicon in Boeotia, where the Muses lived, and he befriended them. He created a spring that was names Hippocrene by striking the ground with his hoof. It was said that those who drank from the spring were blessed with the gift to write poetry.

King Iobates of Lycia sent Bellerophon (a hero) to kill the Chimaera, a monster that breathed fire and was devastating the king’s land. Bellerophan found Pegasus and tamed him using a golden bridle given to him by goddess Athena. Pegasus helped Bellerophon defeat the Chimaera.

After this, and many other heroic deeds, Bellerophan let the success get to his head and tried to fly to Olympus and join the gods. He didn’t succeed and fell off the horse and back to Earth, however Pegasus did make it to Olympus. Zeus used him to carry his thunder and lightning and eventually placed him among the stars.

Pegasus is one of the largest constellations in the sky.

New Kyuranger Data from HeroShock

Koguma Sky Blue can use the Ohguma Kyutama to become Ohguma Sky Blue!

The Cyan ranger is a kid who is Sasori Orange’s partner. Much like Kibaranger from Dairanger, this ranger can change from a kid to an adult size form.

As customary for Red Rangers, Shishi Red will have an alternate Battle form using the power of the Pegasus Constellation Kyutama.

(NASA)  Stephan’s Quintet
Image Data: Hubble Legacy Archive, ESA, NASA; Processing: Al Kelly

The first identified compact galaxy group, Stephan’s Quintet is featured in this eye-catching image constructed with data drawn from the extensive Hubble Legacy Archive. About 300 million light-years away, only four of these five galaxies are actually locked in a cosmic dance of repeated close encounters. The odd man out is easy to spot, though. The interacting galaxies, NGC 7319, 7318A, 7318B, and 7317 have an overall yellowish cast. They also tend to have distorted loops and tails, grown under the influence of disruptive gravitational tides. But the predominantly bluish galaxy, NGC 7320, is closer, just 40 million light-years distant, and isn’t part of the interacting group. Stephan’s Quintet lies within the boundaries of the high flying constellation Pegasus. At the estimated distance of the quartet of interacting galaxies, this field of view spans about 500,000 light-years. However, moving just beyond this field, above and to the left, astronomers can identify another galaxy, NGC 7320C, that is also 300 million light-years distant. Of course, including it would bring the interacting quartet back up to quintet status.

space questions: Planets: Jupiter - Do you have siblings? Stars: Arcturus - Have you ever cried over something other than sadness? Vega: What's something you've done that you wish you hadn't? Constellations: Pegasus - Favorite place to be?

Thank you for making this so organized and always sending asks you gorgeous human being.

Jupiter: I have a little brother! He’s the bane of my existence but he’s aight sometimes

Arcturus: I’ve cried from joy before. I can’t place why but I think it might have been Spider-Man or Sherlock related.

Vega: I wish I didn’t tell my friend I’m bi. I had to turn it into a joke because she didn’t react so well and was making too big a deal with it. She also almost outed me in a school hallway with other people and we were in a conversation with someone else. I lied and said I wasn’t bi at that point.

Pegasus: on a brighter note, I love being in my room! I’ve got it to be at a point where it’s a safe place and pretty aesthetic

ft. some really shitty photos because it’s twelve am and i am not inclined to get up to turn on the light or lamp

yo guess who just made her very own fantroll! this bitchin’ tealblood right here is named Algeni Markab and she’s based off the constellation pegasus, but most of her personality is based off of me so i can project onto her. her right horn could be better, but otherwise im hellsa proud of the work i put into her. she took about a week to make.
