What a day!
I’m still speechless. We saw so many humpback whales I didn’t even know where to point my camera! The first group we saw was just traveling and diving, but the second group we saw was just wild. Tons of breaches (this is the first time I’ve ever seen whales breach!) and to top it off, peduncle throwing! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a photo of that as it was raining sideways and the wind was blowing hard and the lens of my camera was wet and foggy.
Definitely the most brutal whale watching trip I’ve been on. It poured the entire time and I was soaked to the bone in about 20 minutes. Very cold, very very wet. Probably the most challenging photography conditions I’ve worked in (hence why these photos are not the greatest). But it was so much fun!
