A SUMMER SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR THE TRUMP ERA

Here’s a summer survival guide, 10 ways to relax during the era of Trump.

1.  Take a day off from the news, one day a week.

 2.  Don’t get into an argument with a Trump supporter, especially if it’s a member of your family. Remember, there are more independents and non-voters than Trump Republicans. And the 2018 midterm election will be won on the basis of turnout.

3.  Pay no attention to Trump’s tweets. They’re becoming increasingly bizarre and irrelevant.

4.  Watch an old movie of biting political satire, like “Wag the Dog.”

5.  But don’t watch “Doctor Strangelove.

6.  Join an Indivisible group near you and take action with them, attending a congressional town meeting and organizing others to contact your members of congress. It’s having an effect. Plus, it’s therapeutic.

7.  Drink lots of water and get plenty of exercise. Helps with the anger.

8.  Read good books of fiction, like Harry Potter. Don’t read George Orwell’s “1984” or Sinclair Lewis’s “It Can’t Happen Here” or Philip Roth’s “The Plot Against America.”

9.  Go to a county fair with your kids, and watch the pigs.

10. Have a cookout with your neighbors and see what resources you yourselves can offer to your community. Start a tool collective or teach a class in a library or out of someone’s house. Tangible change can come from your hands, not only your votes. Remember, resistance works best when people come together and work together.

Have a great summer!

I like the idea that they think they are keeping it a secret, but Keith’s students know.

Also this is me. This is my blog. So, this is going to be a sickfic, lol..

Classes drag, even for a teacher. It’s not that Keith doesn’t like teaching, but with Christmas only a few weeks away, he’s just as anxious to have a couple of weeks off as his students are. He knows that he doesn’t necessarily need to teach, not with Lance’s YouTube channel kicking off as quickly as it is, but he didn’t bust his ass at college for nothing. So, he’s going to teach; he’s going to contribute toward his family with Lance.

He walks into his third period class only seconds before the bell. His students are already in their seats, glued to their phones as they have been since the semester started, but he ignores this for now in favor of setting his backpack down across his desk.

He’s never been a fan of briefcases. They make him feel old, strict, and he’s got a reputation for being a favorite among students. He’s second behind Shiro because, as it would seem, no one can compete with Shiro. But, Keith’s always been competitive in nature, so he’s going to keep trying to win all of the students over. And, that’s why he allows them extra time on their phones before he actually starts class.

He drops into his chair and kicks his feet up on his desk as he pulls his own phone out. YouTube notifications light up across his screen, and he sees that Lance has posted a video a couple of hours ago. That would be the first out of three, Keith thinks as he swipes out of the notifications in favor of shooting the brunet a text.

[To: Lance] Someone’s started his day early.

He gives it two minutes before he locks his phone with a sigh. Not only did Lance not reply, but the brunet didn’t even read the text. Keith’s not too surprised considering Lance is probably recording a video to be edited and posted within the next two hours, but a text would have been nice.

“Okay, class,” Keith says, his signature warning for the students to put their phones away and pay attention. “Your texts and tweets can wait until after class.”

Most students oblige, but a few girls that occupy the back corner of the room continue typing on their phones as if his words went in one ear and out the other. Keith knows these three well; they are always keeping him on his toes.

“Claire, Jessica, and Jody. Phones up.” He keeps his tone light, casual, yet it still holds enough color of authority that has all three girls looking up at him.

“Just a moment, sir. We are tweeting Lance.”

the fact that jaemin is still obviously in pain, yet fans keep on getting mad that he isnt back is so frustrating. sm isn’t “keeping him from us”, they are letting jaemin rest. he has had this issue since rookie days, and it so injured to the point where he cant even practice with the boys. so many fans are mad at nct dream and mad at sm for what?? letting jaemin?? get better?? its like you want him to dance with a injured spine and hip and make it worse, to the point where he cant dance again probably. i know its a huge bummer that he isnt in the comeback, but atleast hes getting the rest and treatment that he needs to get better. because he is Hurt. hes not stuck in the basement, hes not being held back by sm, he is resting his body so he can get better. stop being upset that hes taking care of himself.

Dream Daddy Release Drama Grumbles

So, first thing’s first: don’t go sending angry messages to the Dream Daddy team. It’s rude, it doesn’t help anyone, and I’m sure they’re feeling a lot more stressed out about this than we possible could be.

That being said…

This is some unprofessional shit. Remember, this isn’t charity. It’s not a present. Dream Daddy is a product which we, the customers, are paying for. All those funny tweets are about marketing the game, not being friendly. Every time you tweet, post, etc. about Dream Daddy, you are helping to market the game, and they encourage that. This is a friendly business relationship, not a personal relationship, no matter how personally invested in the game you may have become.

It is absolutely reasonable for customers to be upset when the product they are eagerly awaiting is delayed not once, but twice, both times on the day of release. Again, these aren’t our friends that receive unconditional support, but people who want us to exchange money for their product, and to do that, we need to trust in their reliability. TONS of games release both on time, and without bugs, and the majority that have delays don’t announce them after missing their  previous release date. And don’t pretend this is all Steam’s fault. It’s the DD team’s job to be on top of this stuff, because dealing with last minute bureaucracy is part of their job. Don’t you find it kinda suspicious that this game was meant to release 8PM their time? As if they were going to spend the rest of the day working on the game and get it on Steam at the last minute? Instead of planning for the possibility of last minute Steam problems??????

I’m not hating on them. I’m frustrated, and I think they need to pull themselves together and do better next time they work on the game, but i get it. I am, however, even more frustrated by the people acting as if paying customers being unhappy with these delays are ‘uwu entitled and impatient’, and how none of this is the developers’ fault.

These people are adult professionals. They chose their release date(s). They have advertised and marketed their game. They are courting our attention and our money. They are not a 15-year-old on deviantArt drawing a friend’s OC for an art trade. It is not our job to be supportive and gentle and endlessly forgiving. You can be, if you want, but don’t attack those who expect more professionalism.
