pay a price

Okay so i’ve noticed that Obi is doing his best to hide his past as a criminal in the underground, including his amazing skills but still doesn’t sell himself short.

(early 30s)

he clearly missed, but i believe it was on purpose, considering that he pinned a man to the ground by throwing knives at him also:

(chapter 3)

he shot an arrow a few inches away from Shirayuki’s face, knowing that she was also running up the stairs makes it harder for him, but Obi doesn’t hesitate to shoot and scare her. there’s no way he would have missed in the competition with Kiki.

When Haruka hired Obi he knew what he was buying, but for team Zen Obi is selling himself as a highly skilled bodyguard, he doesn’t hide the fact that he’s strong and skilled but at the same time he wants to fit in with them without them wondering what he possibly did with such skills, knowing that people might pay high prices for someone like Obi to do the dirty job, so Obi doesn’t want to be put into the killer’s category.

Another reason for me to believe he lost on purpose is that this happens right after meeting Torou for the first time, after team Zen got a glance on his past, so he tries to fit in, showing that no way he is skilled enough to be a part of that world that they all fear.

But here’s the thing, Obi mainly wants to hide it from Shirayuki, he knows all of them are a bit familiar with that world and his act can only hold up so much against them, but he’s afraid Shirayuki would never accept him if she knew.

And since i’m still not over their reunion in chapter 88, i’m going to link this to obi’s behavior when Shirayuki ran to him.

(chapter 80)

here Obi barely gives the slightest information about him working in the underground, but he talks about the details of how he got the information like he was actually there. So after the long period of living peacefully in the castle, this part of Obi became more like a bad dream, like it never actually happened to him, but this reminded him of his sins and how he and Shirayuki stand on different ends of the moral scale.

Also, i believe Obi might still have professional connections with people from the underground. That might turn back on him.

So whether Obi believed Shirayuki knew that he was in the underground or not, Obi almost lost all of the progress he had with Shirayuki and Ryuu and Team Zen.

To me here Obi’s face is saying “silly me” for thinking what he thought of Shirayuki hating him, but also that she actually still wants to be close to him. and that close up to Shirayuki’s face shows surprise and realization, she knows something happened. though he does sort of come clean when she gives him back the stone necklace, saying that he’s been through fights that could either take life or his opponent’s life. but that’s for a different time.

seriously. as someone who’s been in this fandom for quite a while now, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY RIDICULOUS PRICES FOR A COLOR JUST BECAUSE IT’S “SOUGHT AFTER”

i got furbies like a tie dye, purple tip, blue change, and even neon eyes for $3 each. that’s it. $3. each.

and while it’s true that a rarer color will cost more than something as common as a snowball or tuxedo, you do not have to justify paying $50 for a broken furby because it’s highly desirable. they are all the same exact toy but with a different colored fur. don’t overpay for a toy or let yourself think you can only ever get one if you drop an absurd amount of money.

Just got my issue. He has some great pics in it. And self deprecating as always. Said he was self conscious about his moobs. I get the feeling they are nowhere what he thinks. I’ve seen too many posts from those who have met him who say non existent. But then I looked at all the other men in the issue and they are attractive but too perfect. Too posed. The typical tight T-shirt, over the shoulder look. Not real. I’ll take 6’5, Blue Eyed Southern boy anytime.

Blake was a great choice.  He’s the total sexy package.  Stan twitter just sits around waiting for the next thing to pounce on and Blake is a convenient target. Every person that doesn’t like country music projected the country stereotype in their head onto him and piled on.

I feel like Blake is always blazing the trail for others and he always pays a heavy price and never complains.  His popularity on The Voice garnered him resentment in the country music world.   When he became the first country artist ever to win the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Album the country world ignored that achievement totally.  Now he’s the first country artist to be People’s Sexiest Man Alive and everyone is attacking him.  How many new listeners has he single-handedly brought into country music over the years?

Social media is a toxic sewer if you step outside of the comfort of your follows.  People don’t feel the need to be the slightest bit polite or well-mannered.  It’s like everyone’s most petty and animalistic self takes over.

We just received notice that this school is interested in recruiting my graduating daughter to play softball for them. I will pay full price to send her to college before I subject her to a mandatory class on the religion of the State and to an institution that feels such a blatant indoctrination in worshipping the government is acceptable and necessary. I’m going to enjoy drafting my letter of refusal.

Warner Bros. TV Group has launched an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior by Andrew Kreisberg, an executive producer on the CW shows “Arrow,” “Supergirl,” “The Flash” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” Variety has learned. Kreisberg, who has been suspended by the studio, has engaged in a pattern of alleged sexual harassment and inappropriate physical contact over a period of years, according to 15 women and four men who have worked with him.

“We have recently been made aware of allegations of misconduct against Andrew Kreisberg,” said Warner Bros. TV Group in a statement to Variety. “We have suspended Mr. Kreisberg and are conducting an internal investigation. We take all allegations of misconduct extremely seriously, and are committed to creating a safe working environment for our employees and everyone involved in our productions.”

Kreisberg strongly denies the allegations in this story.

None of the 19 sources for this story wanted to be named for fear of retaliation. Many of the women are current or former employees in a range of positions on those shows, and they cited fear of retaliation from either Warner Bros., the studio that makes those dramas, or from the companies and individuals associated with those programs.

The boys were loving this.

You walked in-between all of them, making sure to subtly shepherd them in as close to you as possible. You walked with your arms folded tight, grumbling complaints all the way as you made your way down the dark, shitty hallway in this dark shitty abandoned whatever building.

You didn’t care. You just wanted to leave.

This place was awful. All metal and concrete, it was an old building some ways out of town, left uninhibited for whatever reason and left to rust itself red. You went quiet at every creak it made. Henry could see the face you were making without even turning to look at you.

Eyes wide, lips tight, jaw clenched. He smirked to himself.

One elder I met on the train once told me, sometimes life maybe tough for us, because we’re paying the price for the actions made by someone we love. Karma doesn’t always effect the person who’s causing the pain. That’s why it’s a rippling effect when you cause harm on other people. You might have to watch someone you love suffer for something YOU did.

Apparently.
