It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here!! I am so excited and proud to announce that the release of the “Love is Love” graphic novel is tomorrow, 12/28, and we have plenty at the Gamer’s Gambit!

The graphic novel was created through the joint efforts of IDW Publishing and DC Comics in order to support the survivors and honor the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting that happened earlier this year. Containing stories by multiple artists and writers such as Jim Lee, Gail Simone, Patton Oswald, and many more, the graphic novel is a collection of stories and reactions that were felt across the world as the news of this horrific hate crime broke.

I had to hold back tears as I flipped through this book; on one hand we see the reactions from characters as they watch the news unfold about the attack on the LGBT community. We see the sadness, the anger, the confusion as to how one human being could twist themselves around such hatred and let it consume them. And then, through other pages, we are treated to vibrant and beautiful colours featuring couples finding strength, family members accepting those who take a brave step and come out to them, a resurgence of love that refuses to simply break down and let anger taint everything. We see the faces of heroes and villains we know and love–Harley and Ivy, Batman, Batwoman, the Lantern Corps–reach out to help us find the power we’ve always had inside us. The power to push back.
The power to love and keep loving.

All proceeds from “Love is Love” will go to the families of the victims and the survivors via Equality Florida.

To quote a page of “Love is Love” that resonates with me personally:
“Keep creating your art. Tell your stories and celebrate life. Because that’s how we beat this thing…”

anonymous asked:

Does Patton Oswald or Scott Porter play Story Mode?

I know Scott always tries to at least watch playthrus, not sure about Patton.

The Signs & Humor (Libra - Pisces)

♎Libra, the Socialite of the Zodiac, has a refined sense of humor. Although typically indecisive, they will proudly let you know what they consider humorous and what they consider to be offensive. Libra cultivates this sense of humor in order to stay in the good graces of the company they keep. Although they may be seen frowning at the guest telling a distasteful joke, don’t mistake them for being uptight! Librans are quite receptive to a good joke with their bubbly personalities!

Some funny Librans: Zach Galifianakis, Will Smith, Nick Cannon

♏Scorpios are notorious for their dark personalities, and unsurprisingly, it is reflected in their humor. Scorpios tend to have very dark, or even icy, senses of humor. They may make remarks that seem mean or insensitive to some (often regarding someone’s intelligence or competence), but the Scorpio replies: “What? I’m just being honest!” Of course some of the more sensitive signs could have trouble coming to terms with Scorpion humor, those that don’t have an issue with it will find a Scorpio hilarious!

Some funny Scorpios: Mike Epps, Kathy Griffin, Tracy Morgan

♐Sagittarians, especially the extroverted ones, are known for their demanding and outspoken personalities–some even borderlining dramatic. However, they’re very clever, charming characters. With these aspects of their personality combined, Sagittarians learn to cultivate a sense of humor, not only to entertain, but to get their points across. Although their jokes may seem a bit sensationalized at times, they’re positive, cheery people and it is reflected in their humor. Exuding confidence, their humor is almost always well-received, and they aren’t typically bothered on the occasion that it isn’t.

Some funny Sagittarians: Sarah Silverman, Jonah Hill, Jamie Foxx

♑Capricorn, being on the same axis as Cancer, also have an incredible gift for making people laugh. Capricorns have a bit of a mischievous side and their senses of humor reflect this. Capricorns can be quite snooty or sardonic. Introverted Capricorns may chuckle under their breath at some people’s ignorance and idiosyncrasies, while more outspoken Capricorns will give you their commentary in the form of sarcastic one-liners. However, don’t let Saturn fool you! Behind closed doors, Capricorns have a goofy side themselves that many people find absolutely hilarious.

Some funny Capricorns: Steve Harvey, Zooey Deschanel, Betty White

♒Aquarius are often noted for their idiosyncratic personalities–in other words, for their weirdness. Much of this characteristic Aquarius trait shows up in their sense of humor. For this reason, some of the other signs may have a hard time finding common ground when it comes to an Aquarian sense of humor. Aquarians may push the boundaries with their jokes or find things that may antagonize others to be hilarious. However, Aquarius is pretty confident. Even if others aren’t as receptive to their jokes, they know they’re hilarious and can often be seen laughing at their own jokes.

Some funny Aquarians: Chris Rock, Patton Oswald, Bill Maher

♓Pisces are quite notorious for their goofy senses of humor. Their sense of humor is very much acquired and not everyone will like it–or maybe even understand it. However, for some Pisceans, beneath such an innocent exterior, lies a very dark sense of humor that other signs may have a difficult time associating with. This may very well be just one of the Pisces coping mechanisms to deal with some of the tougher aspects of life though. And with this being said, the most remarkable thing about Piscean humor is that they truly aim to make those around them smile and laugh–these goofballs just want to brighten your day!

Some funny Pisceans: Carrot Top, Jordan Peele, Chelsea Handler, Dane Cook, Chelsea Peretti

I bought Mune last night

And for the first time I’m disappointed in Gkids. These guys have done a great job bringing over various foreign films over the years however this one they massively screwed up. However my complaints are a bit biased so this is more of a venting blog.

Basically the reason I’m upset is I finally own a copy of this movie but I don’t have the full original Canadian dub that I heard when I first saw it. I say full Canadian dub because Gkids decided to only recast certain characters from the original Canadian dub as opposed to redubbing the whole thing. So they clearly had the rights to the Canadian dub but chose not to include for reasons I don’t understand.

Now you might be asking, “but the new actors do a good job right?” No. Excluding Rob Lowe and Patton Oswald everyone new does a terrible job and even then there’s no way either of those guys did a better job than their canadian counterparts. Christian Slayter was awful in this movie. And as if the voice acting being mostly crap didn’t ruin the dub for you, the sound mixing and lack of even attempting to sync lip flaps will.

It’s like the actors for the new dub had different microphones than the actors for the old dub so whenever say, sohone is talking to Mune, it’s really freaking distracting and the actors getting cutoff all the time by the old dub doesn’t help either. It sounds like one of those fandubs you find on YouTube where it’s people with bad microphones trying to act opposite of people with really good microphones or the original dub. Also half the time it’s as if the new actors didn’t even try to sync the lip flaps.

Overall this blog is mostly me nitpicking this release with only a few critiques that are actually good. And really I can only speak for the digital version. Maybe the physical copy gives you the old dub. I suppose all of this complaining is mute anyway since the internet exists and at least the original French is still in the release.
