Something my therapist taught me: take delight in the little things. Hold a cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter day and feel the warmth spread to your hands. Notice how the sunlight streams through the leaves on a tree and their shadows make a beautiful mosaic pattern on the sidewalk. Pet any and all dogs you see while you’re out and about and take a moment to appreciate how happy they are to see you. Sometimes when I can’t see the bigger picture it’s the littlest things that get me through each day.
