Denim Patchwork

By StyleSpectra

Happy Friday all! I hope you had a great week :) This weekend will be dedicated to finishing our move to the new apartment and cleaning, not so exciting, right ? Well, well we don’t have much of a choice :(

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite garments for spring such as the trench coat, that works with absolutely everything and the mini denim skirt. I still haven’t had time to catch any sun so it will look even better with some sunburned legs :) To give the look a more casual and fun spin I added my favourite reptile ankle boots. What do you think?

See you soon :)

Rosette update: It has been a while since I last updated on the English paper pieced rosette that I started back in February

It’s grown and is almost done. I am going to add one more ring of teal pentagons around the outside, bringing it to about a 22″ finished circle. I’m going to appliqué it on fabric to make a baby sized quilt.

I’ve used an assortment of fabrics from my stash to make this, including a prints from Emmy Grace by Bari J., True Colors from Anna Maria Horner, Botanics by Carolyn Friedlander, and some Kona solids.

I like the way that it has come together. But - I do have to say - I’m not the biggest fan of sewing all those little angles and small pieces! I’m still amazed by all the people online who are making full quilts out of the “La Passacaglia” pattern. After finishing this up, I think I will put my English paper piecing efforts back into my hexies and a big, scrappy project that I have in mind…!
