Collision Course; Voltron Legendary Defender AU: Dads of Marmora; gen; 5,300+ words; PG-13; mentions of violence, tiny hints of Ulaz/Thace, but so little you have to squint with a telescope or something

Credit for this AU goes to @drisrt and this amazing picture that inspired this story. Also some lines of the dialogue are taken from the Blades of Marmora episode of Voltron.

Posted on AO3, too.

Summary:

Keith gets adopted by the Galra empire rebellion, basically.

Keith has barely three years of life on his cells, has barely grown up to his Father’s knees and into his Mother’s laugh when he’s thrown into the first sense of flying, of fleeing, of his Father solemnly reading through the coordinates Keith doesn’t understand, that Keith thinks are just a pretty game of lights, lights that remind him of his Mom’s knife.

He’s holding it, holding onto it, tries to find the connection between the numbers and the faintest of glows, illuminating the insides of his fingers, misses how his Dad flinches when he asks: “When will Mom catch up to us?” already sleepy, already curling up beneath the safety straps of his seat.

Gently, his Father’s jacket is tucked around him and the scent is the lullaby that sings him into dazed, motionless dreams, the remnants of home, the flickers of the unknown.

(He sleeps through the harsh descent, the crib of his Father’s arms, the hushed ambush, the quietest of heists.)

He sleeps through it all.

oh ok thanks for answering so fast :) even it's fake that's still nice for my namjin imagination lol can you tell me what was written after daddy please... i can't read it :( Oh by the way what do you think about namjin since the beginning of 2017?, do you also feel that they interact less compared to their early debut where they looked so close to me, always standing next to each other, rapmon always touching jin hand when talking etc... i'm a bit sad, do you also feel it or is it just me?

I think it says “bby sin” - which ??? I have no idea what that means.

Beginning of 2017? We’re only 3 months in so I dont think we can make a general statement and say that “ there werent much namjin moments this year”. But I feel like, with the whole Wings comeback last year, NamJin has just been everywhere and more in your face then it has ever before-

Exhibit A - when Namjoon and Jin had no chill and were openly flirting at a fan-signing

Exhibit B - when they gave us this christmas gift and defined the word married

Exhibit C - when they actually got married in Japan and did a whole photoshoot on it

Exhibit D - when they couldnt contain their joy at winning at the AAAs

(lol im Yoongi in the back admiring them)

Exhibit D  - when Jin had some words of encouragement (?? sure) for Namjoon and vkook were all of us

Exhibit E - when they ended all ships with this one v live

And lets not forget:

And when it comes to holding hands and standing next to each other, well…

So anon dont be sad! Namjin is here and to me, 2016 was THEIR YEAR and fingers crossed that 2017 will be too!

BOOKS READ IN 2016: the hating game by sally thorne

I have a theory. Hating someone feels disturbingly similar to being in love with them. I’ve had a lot of time to compare love and hate, and these are my observations.
Love and hate are visceral. Your stomach twists at the thought of that person. The heart in your chest beats heavy and bright, nearly visible through your flesh and clothes. Your appetite and sleep are shredded. Every interaction spikes your blood with adrenaline, and you’re in the brink of fight or flight. Your body is barely under your control. You’re consumed, and it scares you.

Peggy and Herschel Post, have long been passionate collectors of fine and decorative art, becoming formidably knowledgeable in the process. ‘We brought only the best pieces from our previous house - they went in to Herschel’s library, now the repository of our treasured possessions from the past,’ says Peggy.

The rich colour scheme of the library was determined by a Mannerist painting by the sixteenth century artist Francesco Morandini. The red veneer of he bookcases intermingles with warm browns, and provides a fitting environment for the scattered Grand Tour souvenirs and Babylonian bronzes. The chair is covered in a Claremont damask.

always as bitter as it is sweet by Rona Keller
Via Flickr:
It is a rainy day and I am on my way to France for the day with Daniel and his mum. I spend the one hour car ride looking through the window, imagining what the colourful forests that we rush past look like from the inside, and longingly watching the clouds that are lingering in the valleys. While most people only have negative things to say about the weather, I would much rather be out there, walking through the woods, taking in the contrast that evolves between the autumn colours and the thick clouds and rain. But I try to embrace the moment the way it is, and so I continue looking at the beauty in the distance through the car window and appreciate my love for this weather so much.

Here’s another improvement post. All of these are approximately three-four months apart, so there’s something to say about practice(I think I Said the exact same thing before).

Edit: Bonus, I added my older Percy and short haired Nina edits for fun.

While searching for warmth (online, as one does) on this cold FeBrettuary night, I found Jeremy in a luxurious cardigan. The source is this fab article from The Guardian archive about him and Richard Briers. How else could one have known that our Jeremy was a classic fashion icon? :D

In 1970, mannequin-maker Adele Rootstein, who had already made window dummies of Donyale Luna, Twiggy and Lady Jacqueline Rufus Isaacs, decided Brett had the right look for today. She convinced him to model, and now there are life-size copies of Brett in shop windows all over the world. He represents “modern man” in the Bath Museum.
