hello everyone! i just wanted to give an update on how things will be working the next few weeks, into the rest of august. it’s a lot, so buckle up your seat belts:

the second and third week of school ic, will both each be two weeks ooc. this is to give everyone a chance to maximize on the last of their student threads before the end of the school year. here’s an excerpt from the hogwarts page, schedule tab, on how the end of the school year will wrap up:

“…first through fourth years have to pass their final exams the last week to get into the next school year. o.w.l. testing for fifth years start the second to last week, and conclude the last week of school. sixth years don’t have final exams due to the rigorous schedule with n.e.w.t. level classes, which they have to pass, and increase in overall examinations during schooling. seventh years take their n.e.w.t’s the final week of school. first through fourth years, as well as sixth years, receive their final marks before leaving for the summer holiday on their report card. for those who are taking their o.w.l and n.e.wt. exams, they receive their final marks in their july owl post, via the wizarding examinations authority.

please keep the above in mind when wrapping up your threads for the second and third weeks. more on the third week ic: at the end of the third week ic, there’ll be an end of the school year fair the saturday of the final weekend, as well as the end of term feast&house cup crowning / graduating of seventh years ( where they go across the lake in the boats like they did their first year ) on the following sunday. details for all of the above will be posted eventually, but essentially, the second ooc writing week for the ic third week will be dedicated to finishing all threads for the school year, and writing these events as well. it’ll most likely be split in half: three days for the fair, then the rest of the week for finishing up those threads, the end of term feast, goodbyes, “graduating,” traveling back on the train to kings cross, probably gossiping about the latest tragedy to hit the defense against the dark arts professor, etc.

after ALL OF THAT, there will be two weeks dedicated towards ic summer writing for everyone. basically, you’ll get to write whatever your character got up to during the summer of 1988. directions will be posted on the ic summer once its started. during this period of time, i will be asking all roleplayers with students who have just graduated, to submit the alumni application for their muse, so they can successfully be transferred to the alumni page. you’ll also be asked to tell me what career your character will be pursuing, so they can be added to the careers page. if they’re not currently pursuing anything, that’s okay! the main can be messaged at any time with adjustments, and you can just put unemployed as an occupation on the new application. all student character’s years and ages on the student page will also be updated automatically, to fit the appropriate age for the appropriate year ( the appropriate ages are explained on the before applying page. ) the main still asks, of course, to be notified whenever a birthday occurs for all characters otherwise.

finally, the school year of 1988-89 will start on september 3rd ooc,  though that sunday will be september 1st ic. there’ll be all of the usual beginning of term events, but details on that will, again, be posted on a later date. i’m personally hopeful that, with the new influx of alumni characters coming, we’ll be able to do more alumni events like the restaurant opening! if anyone has any questions, feel free to send them as always. PLEASE LIKE THIS POST AFTER READING … AND REALLY, DO READ IT. YOU’LL BE CONFUSED IF YOU DON’T.

Update on Marine Corps JAG Application

Hello all,

Some of you have been with me from the beginning of this journey and some of you came in on the tail end but I thought y'all at least deserved an update since I’ve been so inactive on here.

My application finally went before the board last Tuesday and the results came back yesterday afternoon. I was not selected to go to Officer Candidate School (OCS). While I was on par with my peers on test scores, gpa’s, and references, my Physical Fitness Test (PFT) score was not. I did finally pass the test but only by the skin of my teeth. The average score for females on this board were 40-50 points higher than mine.

I am incredibly disappointed and tons of tears have been shed over this rejection, I have to look at all of the things I have accomplished in the 10 months I have spent preparing for this. I went from 210lbs at 5'3 to 145lbs! I can sleep at night, my arthritis has all but gone away, my blood pressure has gone down, my heart rate is finally at a normal level, and I no longer want to cover all of my mirrors or dodge away from photos.

This is by no means the end of my journey to seek entry into the armed forces. I absolutely feel a calling in my soul that I meant to use my education to serve my country. My family has a long military history and I feel that calling just like they did. This is merely God telling me “Not yet.” I have dealt with rejection all my life and it has always lead to something better or prepared me better for the particular goal I am trying to reach.
Senate Votes Down Broad Obamacare Repeal
The fact that the plan came up well short of even 50 votes was an ominous sign for Republican leaders still grappling with a formula to pass final health care legislation later this week.
By Thomas Kaplan and Robert Pear

Okay, that’s more like it

The Senate voted narrowly on Tuesday to begin debate on a bill to repeal major provisions of the Affordable Care Act, but hours later, Republican leaders suffered a setback when their most comprehensive plan to replace President Barack Obama’s health law fell far short of the votes it needed.

The Tuesday night tally needed to reach 60 votes to overcome a parliamentary objection. Instead, it fell 43-57. The fact that the comprehensive replacement plan came up well short of even 50 votes was an ominous sign for Republican leaders still grappling with a formula to pass final health care legislation later this week.[…]

For weeks, Mr. McConnell has been promoting and revising a comprehensive bill that would repeal the health law while also replacing it, but he has struggled to nail down the support needed to pass that measure. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has yet to assess the most complete version of that legislation, which includes the proposals by Mr. Cruz and Mr. Portman.

Without that assessment, the measure needed 60 Senate votes, and it failed that test on Tuesday night.

The Senate is also expected to vote on a measure that would repeal the health law without putting in place any replacement, but that approach does not appear to have enough support to pass, either.

Yet again, Trump declared a premature victory before things started breaking in the other direction. Still, the debate that the majority of Americans didn’t ask for has been launched, and the suspense is killing me. Don’t forget to give your Senator an earful.

So we can take the world back from a heart attack
One maniac at a time we will take it back (x)

GalraAU - Sketch Dump ♥

So… I’m still alive I guess. XD I passed my finals and finally found the time to sketch out some more GalraAU stuff.

Since everything’s in reverse in this AU, Kuro isn’t a Human-Galra hybrid, but a Galra-Altean hybrid, hence the blue eyes and markings.

He gets all fluffed up when he meets Lance for the first time, because he’s an Alpha and Lance is an Omega. And he’s hyperaware of how good Lance smells. They try to be bros in this AU, too, but their plans get kinda crashed when Lance goes into heat and gets all needy.

Also: Since everything’s in reverse in this AU, Shiro’s and Kuros bionic arms are Altean-tech and glow blueish. ♥ Somehow this looks even more badass than the purple glow…

Say That Again

Summary: Soulmate AU. Everyone hears a key word or phrase in their head from their soulmate, something only heard in person when the moment is right.

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader

Word Count: 2,543

Warnings: language, self-consciousness, fluff, that’s basically it

A/N: This is my submission for the lovely wonderful talented @bladebarnes’ 2k Celebration Challenge. My prompt was 35. quote: “Say that again.” I saw Baby Driver recently and couldn’t get the diner thing out of my head.
