WORD COUNT — 1.6k
NOTES — i did tweak this request a little bit, simply because i don’t see riverdale!archie being a bully—i think it’s even a little ooc for comics!archie—so i opted for archie sort of ignoring the reader. also, i refrained from specifying a gender since there wasn’t one mentioned in the request. thank you so much for trusting me to write your idea, and i hope this was fluffy enough for you. i felt like it would be kinda rushed to make them kiss in this? i don’t know, but enjoy. ( requests: open )
Woo first round of self-indulgent predicts for the pool party! Hopefully I can get through more cuz I have a LOT of breedings waiting for predicts on my account *coughs*. But I’ve also taken on a lot of predicts for other ppl and those take priority.

Shailene Woodley and Jai Courtney team up for ‘Arkie’
Shailene Woodley, Jai Courtney and online star Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor have joined the cast of animated feature Arkie.
The film, being introduced to buyers in Cannes, is created by Nathan Jurevicius, the award-winning artist behind the Scarygirl graphic novel and video game, and directed by his brother Luke Jurevicius (AACTA Award-winning Figaro Pho).
Arkie is a fantastical adventure about an inventive and
inquisitive young girl, Arkie (Woodley), who must leave the safety of
her home and embark on an epic journey to a dazzling but dangerous
metropolis to rescue her father Blister from the clutches of the evil
scientist Dr. Maybee (Courtney). Bachelor, with over 16 million online
followers, will play the role of Bunniguru, a comedic adventurer who
relies on his “book of useless proverbs” and wit to get him out of many
“It’s been a brilliant journey participating in Arkie’s
evolution over the years,” said the Jurevicius brothers. “We can’t wait
to work with our wonderfully talented actors in bringing her world to
life on the big screen. It’s so great that this film has attracted such
significant talent. We knew Arkie’s story was strong, but having
Shailene, Jai and Andrew are important confirmation that we are creating
something truly special.”
The picture is an Australian / Canadian co-production lead by Sophie Byrne of Passion Pictures Australia (Academy Award winner The Lost Thing) and Nicole Stinn of Nitrogen Studios (Sausage Party). John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda) also serves as an exec producer. Luma Pictures are on board as the animation studio for Australia.
We are so excited that Arkie has engaged such high calibre
talent,“ said producer Sophie Byrne. "Bachelor brings his unique comedic
edge to Bunniguru, Woodley’s distinct voice, the right combination of
vulnerability and savvy of Arkie, and Courtney the perfect blend of
charisma mixed with sinister charm for the evil scientist, Dr Maybee”.
Odin’s Eye Entertainment (OEE) will ramp up sales in Cannes this year,
already having closed deals with a number of key territories Madman
(Australia / NZ), Italy (Notorious), Baltics (Best Film), Yugoslavia
(Dexin), Middle East (Phonencia), Phillipines (Captive)
is like no other,” said OEE founder Michael Favelle who also doubles as
an exec producer. “It has the creative sensibility of Miyazaki fused
with the vibrant colours of The Lorax and the heart and warmth of Amelie.”
UTA is packaging and also handling the U.S. sale, with further A-list cast in negotiation. Arkie is anticipated to hit screens in late 2019.
Woodley is represented by UTA and managed by Management 360, Courtney is
also represented by UTA and managed by Silver Lining Entertainment and
Morrissey Management, and Bachelor is repped by UTA and managed by
So that Big Mom flashback was pretty loaded. Seriously, what the hell Oda.
However - Oda is a master of implication, as I noted in this post. He doesn’t have to put all the carnage on panel for us to know what went down. LinLin was hungry, REAL hungry. Then suddenly everyone’s gone. Oda - what the absolute hell am I reading.
But here’s the kicker. We know for sure Mother Carmel was eaten - that’s confirmed via LinLin having her devil fruit powers. It is also implied that the children were eaten too. (Seriously Oda? The fuck…) However….
Throughout the entirety of the wedding party, this “panda woman” can be seen throughout the party. She’s placed in this key panel right in front, and continues to pops up as a guest, and as well in many of the scuffles and fights in the background. Now Oda is a great one for background characters, and he’s done a great job throughout the party of having guests appear consistently, so she could just be a guest like frog guy here.
Apologies for the image size/quality.
When I saw the little girl behind Mother Carmel’s skirt - my immediate thought was “oh so that’s the panda girl at the party.” I drew an assumption that the children of the Lamb’s House must have become lifelong allies of LinLin, for her to continue to invite them to her tea parties.
Until she supposedly ate them. (Oda….seriously man…)
However this similarity in design is just too convenient for me to think that there could be two “part panda” women hanging around Big Mom. The key issue here would likely be her age - in that the little girl in the flashback would have to be as old as Big Mom right now, and the woman at the party looks very young. (But Oda also draws characters like Shakky who’s supposed to be older but looks like she’s 20.)
To me, the vagueness of Big Mom’s flashback seems to indicate something’s up. As I said, Oda is a master of implication - but did he intentionally not show Big Mom gobbling down her delicious friends just so we would believe they went the same route as Good Old Mom Slave Trader? We saw Carmel’s “remains,” but not the kids. Why? I mean, Oda has shown us before he doesn’t mind slinging around some dead children for effect. Why the ambiguity around the kids?
Surely I can’t be the only one who has noticed this panda lady character. Is it possible some of children survived? Or is this a poorly juxtaposed design similarity? If some of the children managed to survive, it what role would are they playing at the tea party? I have tried to find the other children of the Lamb’s House in the tea party - but I have only found a lot of characters wearing crowns who may or may not be the young prince. Panda girl is my best lead. Will be curious to see how this plays out - if at all. She may be a total red herring.
