parts kit

seeing young teenagers embracing 2007 internet culture/aesthetic/speak in the kidcore/rainbowcore/kiddycore communities is such a beautiful thing. i think its beautiful because ive been around since 2007, and those years were golden for kids having fun and being themselves. the growth of the internet in the last ten years has provided lots of things, some of it being positive, but a lot unfortunately has become a cesspool of hatred.

between teenagers and adults alike on social media, nowadays kids are introduced to this hatred and darkness of the world early on with such easy access to it and it drives them into unhealthy behaviors and mindsets, such as suicide baiting/callout culture (NOT referring to calling out people who actually do very bad harmful things- such as pedophiles, suicide baiters, racist/neo-nazis/etc- making people aware of when they do bad things is good- but i mean the sorts who send hate and suicide bait to innocent 13 year olds over saying something wrong once and stalk them down repeatedly and bully them into suicide and self-harm etc.)

this is what kids are exposed to nowadays, and in these safe communities, people are embracing what redditors/4channers make fun of and call “cringey” and being themselves because it makes them happy. not only this, but kids in these communities moderate themselves and keep out NSFW/kink bloggers that sexualize children and create boundaries to keep their internet exposure safe, because theyre mature enough to do so. these kids embrace this time because its nostalgic and comforting, and has no super bad associations other than those who called it cringey and edgy all these years. the only bad people in these spaces are those who try to invade them.

let people use scene/l33t speak, use XD unironically, and make bright eyebleeding dog OCs. let them love nightcore. just let them enjoy this while they still can, for the love of god. and if they dont grow out of it (like i didnt) leave them be. a majority of these kids are lgbt, autistic, and trauma victims just trying to cope, and then there are just other kids who do it because it makes them happy. they arent harming anyone. if you bully them, you are.

Something I really appreciate about Tony that I don’t think gets talked about much is how much he gets beat up in the armor.

Like he breaks so many bones that he a) had to invent something that would hide it from other people b) has to do this often enough that it’s a standard part of his emergency kit. (Amazing Spider Man v2 #529)

And then there was that time he got turned into an AI back in the day and he was super excited about not getting horrible concussions all the time anymore. (Hypervelocity #3)

Constant physical trauma and healing is exhausting on its own, and that’s not even getting into all the other miscellaneous severe beatings/torture/literally cutting off part of his own foot so he can keep fighting/having extremis or his internal armor screwed up/etc OR all the debilitating health problems he’s had over the years. Honestly there isn’t a whole lot of point to this post other than that Tony Stark is a tough bastard, and while we all talk a lot about how he deals with mental trauma I feel like there’s not enough appreciation for the physical side of it. Tony takes beating after beating and he just. keeps. going.

Russian belt-fed light machine gun that was eventually replaced by the RPK. It uses non-disintegrating belts that can be kept loaded and stored in the drum. Price for a semi-auto RPD is around the $2,000-$2,500 range, so they’re still sort of affordable but prices will undoubtedly increase as parts kit supply dries up. (GRH)

Get over here, Kit. Being part of the group means being a part of group hugs
—  Ty, probably, at some point

U.S made FAL from Century Arms using a demilled L1A1 parts kit. Note the textured pattern on the handguard, stock and pistol grip. Among FAL owners and collectors these furniture sets are often referred to as the “Pebble” style. It’s officially call the British Maranyl pattern but it’s easier to just call it the pebble pattern. Since the FAL was called the “Right Arm of the Free World”, many nations adopted the rifle with their own slight modifications from the original. This makes collecting FAL’s fun but a little more difficult. (GRH)

anonymous asked:

Could you please tell us an anecdote about goats that happened to you? They are some really funny and interesting animals, plus baby goats are the cutest. Tax: pizza with or without pinneaple?

Ah, goats. The most and least helpful animals on the planet.

Any time I enter a field of goats, I have to take great care to prevent them from investigating and absconding with parts of my kit. They wont necessarily eat everything, but they will certainly try.

My last large animal caesarian in mixed practice was for a goat. Some clever person thought it would be fine to let a young nanny goat run with a boer (meat breed) buck. Fortunately that same clever person realized that things were not progressing according to plan and brought their goat into the clinic when she was failing to kid.

This little goat was too small to manipulate anything vaginally, so caesarian was really our only option.

It was also, as it happened, my first large animal caesarian. I hadn’t even managed to help with one as a student. I’d literally only read about them.

But I didn’t have any backup and wasn’t going to let that stop me.

You learn very quickly in veterinary medicine that the diagrams in surgical textbooks are naughty, incomplete lies and don’t accurately reflect the real world at all. They are lies and you shouldn’t believe everything they say without great skepticism.

But I had enough experience of surgery in general to be able to interpret the techniques in those awful lying textbooks, and had done my fair share of small animal caesarians, that we managed perfectly well, delivering two baby goats that looked a lot like their dad.

There isn’t much on the planet earth filled with as much goodness as newborn baby goats.

As for the pizza: I’m not inviting that kind of drama onto my blog.

livvy & dru

oh god but imagine the relationship that livvy and dru could’ve had like
-livvy, the more conventionally pretty, helping dru accept her body and literally destroying anyone who made snide comments about it
-dru opening up to her about how she feels excluded from the older blackthorns and livvy making a point to include her too in her and Ty’s games rather than only Kit
-babysitting tavvy together
-being close in age talking about boys and braiding hair bc neither could have that sort of relationship with ty or tavvy or Julian or mark or Helen or Emma
-dru loving to watch horror movies with her bc livvy always laughed at the goriest parts
-spying on kit and ty talking to each other from the rafters
- familiarizing themselves with Helen again and becoming the female blackthorns trio
-the two of them going on missions together when kit and ty were elsewhere
-bonding and getting to know each other like I don’t think they ever did and now /never/ will

((I’ll add more to this as I get more emotional))

Coharie Arms CA5 40

U.S made MP5 pistol chambered in .40 S&W. These were built with a mix of surplus HK parts kits and some U.S manufactured parts. Unfortunately the build quality and reliability of these Coharie Arms guns is rather infamous among HK collectors. Note the Shockwave pistol brace, which prior to the recent BATFE ruling, could not be shouldered. Now you can, but for how long is up to whenever the BATFE changes its mind again. (GRH)

A rare variant of the Yugoslavian M72, their version of the RPK. The AB1 differs primarily by using an under-folding stock like it’s smaller AKM siblings. Sometimes referred to as a Paratrooper model, it may just be a blanket term for any sort of side-folding or under-folding stock variant. Very few M72AB1 parts kits were brought into the U.S, making them a quintessential piece to look for if collecting AK/RPK’s or Yugoslavian firearms in general. (GRH)
