parson weems fable

I have to forewarn you.  It’s only fair.  It’s only respectful of our relationship.   And kind of like George Washington, I cannot tell a lie*…

I acquired this lovely 1968 Telecaster (above) last week.  I got a good deal on it becuase it was refinished at some point in its history…so it cost roughly 50% of what a ‘68 with its original finish would have cost.

My point is this: I am so excited by this acquisition.  Never did I think I’d be able to afford a 1960s Tele.  And yet here I am.  So, I am going to literally bombard you with photos of it for the foreseeable future!  Apologies in advance for the tedium…  :D

* PS: My love of art and painting specifically (particularly 20th C. American painting) led me to an artist named Grant Wood (whom you may know from his super-famous painting “American Gothic”).  As I learned about his work, I came across his 1939 painting called “Parson Weems Fable” which taught me that the whole George Washington/I cannot tell a lie/cherry tree story is a complete fabrication!  I am so disillusioned…  :\
